it's less powerful than your average computer. THink of it like a netbook but with a better processor.
It'll do fine for surfing (although if you browse a lot of flash based sites you will need to get a third party browser since safari doesn't accommodate it)
You may do OK on reading books, papers or magazines, especially if they have apps, but the ipad's screen is backlit, so it doesn't work well outdoors and you may need to fiddle with the brightness so that you don't get eye strain (it's just like doing too much reading from a computer screen)
I would say the biggest short comings are data transfer. Apple's preferred work flow is that everything is done via iTunes or the internet....well people dont' always have 100% reliable always on internet access so you can find yourself in a situation where you can't get things on/off the iPad.
By and large, it's a good device for day to day stuff, but is not a computer replacement.

Olivia, hopefully by now you have solved your issue but just for the sake of answering that question here so that people having the same issue can later find it I'll go through the motions:
there are a couple of ways you can achieve this.
A. get a certificate for free out there
B. generate your own self signed "fake" certificate.
certutil will certainly let you do this, here's how:
1. First, create a file/directory layout to store your certificates
mkdir -p /path/to/certificates/selfsignedCA2. Initialize a database for the certificate you want to create
certutil -N -d /path/to/certificates/selfsignedCA -P "ca-"3. Create a self-signed CA certificate

How useful is XML for accesing a server

Suppose I have a client applet that makes a query to a server application with this small protocol:
CLIENT: Send a date (user inputs it in his own locale format, so client applet encodes it as an integer: 2 bytes for year, 1 for month and 1 for day)
SERVER: Send a response byte
CLIENT:interprets response as a success / error, and shows an appropiate message to the user in his own language and locale.
How would XML help in this?

If you control both the client (applet) and the server, then XML is not necessairly the best solution.
XML provides a flexible decoupling mechanisim that allows both the sender and receiver to restructure the message. This is very important when you:
1. Intend to interface with a client you have no control over.
2. Intend to interface with a server you ahve no control over.
3. Intend to develop your client and your server independently.
4. Intend to deploy updates to your client and server independently.
If the client is downloaded from the server (as in an applet situation), the you basically control both the client and the server at the same time (in the webserver). So most of these issues don't really exist. However, if you perceive that future plans for your product would allow independent control of the client and the server, or have to interface to other clients that you do not control, then it may be better to consider an XML coupling from the beginning.
Note that using XML is not enough, you should evaulate and plan for how the XML message should be allowed to grow so you will not design your XML message in ways that are too inflexible (preventing you from upgrading the client or the server independently) or too abstract (preventing undertanding of the message without explicit knowledge of the internals of the client and / or the server).
One example of the "too abstract" trap is deciding to make every element in the XML message esentially the same, that is, a message of "Objects" where there is no understanding of what that object is without having the .class file around to unpack it.

1) The problem of a FULL import is the next:
A FULL IMPORT imports objects from SYSTEM, OUTLN, DBSNMP (and this from an earlier version).
Some objects are imported with success and some others are rejected. There are too many errors.
2) And TOUSER option work well but doesn't import the following objects:

No, it doesn't support that. I mentioned the details in your other thread. To add to the other question, you must go to Google Voice settings on the web and make sure that your messages aren't automatically forwarded as text messages. If that is checked, you will receive a text message (which will charge) and a push notification (which will not charge). As mentioned before, you should simply use push notification to get your messages.

Let me explain to you about scheduler.
You can schedule a pl/sql stored procedure TEST_S as follows...

So first read about DBMS_SCHEDULER and do the work in prompt. Then you can go and schedule it even by database control.

Here is an idea for your request.
Basically you can create a simple query on multiprovider 0TCT_MC01.
Filter: you can use a variable for restriction of time ( calday, or calmonth) since you should be interested for a time period.
Choose following characters into your objects:
InfoProvider ( 0TCTIFPROV ) - you can create a variable for choosing infoprovider before query runs.
*Tp.[Type of BI Application Object] 0TCTBISOTYP = filter this with 'QUERY' or whatever your need is.
*BI Application Object 0TCTBISBOBJ, ( this will give you the name of the queries)
In key figures choose, Count for BI Appl. (0TCTWTCOUNT).
(number for query run)
Create a condition , for top 20.

In SQL Server Agent jobs, how do you use @os_run_priority in a job step?

After completing a SQL Server backup I need to take a copy of the backup file to another drive.
I'm planning to use copy or xcopy, but I'd like to set the process priority to "low".
I see there is an "os_run_priority" parameter to sp_add_jobstep so I know it should be possible. But I can't find any documentation of how to use it.
Currently I'm just doing a CmdExec step like this:-
start /low xcopy "E:\FullBackups\*.*" "G:\FullBackups\" /s /j
Unfortunately, one side effect of using "start /low" is that the command is now asynchronous, so SQL Agent doesn't know when the copy has finished, or whether it copied successfully or not. Any suggestions on how to do this?

The documentation for @os_run_priority says Reserved which means that you should not use it. (It could be that it is only intended for jobs that SQL Server sets up itself, or that it has no function at all, but remains for legacy reasons.)
I am not sure that it is a good idea to lower the priority. The copy operation can consume quite some memory which can compete with SQL Server. That competition is not going to stop, just because you lower the priority but make matters worse.

monitoring >> status >> step by step analysis >> analysis >> read inbox ....
- using job name in monitoring > header : request REQU_xxx
logon r/3 transaction sm37, type job name BIREQU_xxx
(don't forget to put * for user or usually ale user)
to verify, from that job, click step >> goto >> variant info for infosource name

It depends if and how Apple screws us.
For instance I had the PowerMac G5 Duallie with a 30" monitor and Steve Jobs announced the Intel processor swtich, two years later then wouldn't provide OS X 10.6 for my machine so I had to sell it while I could. So I lost about 5-7 years futher producive use of the machine.
Then the 2007 4 year old 15" MacBook Pro I had was working perfectly fine under Snow Leopard, but after I upgraded it to OS X Lion the firmware bricked the machine and Apple would refuse to pay to fix it.
It was their fault too, because Cupertino HQ was pwned by the 750,000 Mac Flashback botnet and OS X Lion was likely tainted by malware to cause such a massive amount of logicboard replacements that were required at the time.
It used to be that Apple (under Steve Jobs) would ignore older Mac's and OS X versions for security updates unless they ran the last two OS X operating system versions, but after Flashback they had to go back and fix so many machines they don't dare to that again.
But Apple has other ways now to force you to upgrade your operating system, especially AppStore as developers will tend ot make programs for the latest OS X version only.
It wouldn't be too bad to upgrade OS X but for the fact that doing so bricks so much of your third party software in the process, gives bad and unwanted features, and then tends slows one's machine down to a crawl as the newer OS X versions are created with newer hardware in mind, not older.
So Apple is basically leveraging more software features and iOS devices to force a faster hardware turnover rate so they can make more money. A lot of the features they are adding are not really used all that much a lot of it is just change for the heck of change and putting a new fancy paint job on the Apple hardware.
"Oh look new OS X, buy a new machine!"
So you have a choice to either keep up with the rapid Apple hardware cycle or buy a Windows machine that will last a decade or more per operating system version.
I know people who still have 10 year old XP machines and they are now getting 10 year life Windows 7 machines.
Apple seems to tie to much features to a new boated OS X version and forcing one to upgrade instead of using OS X and a base and adding new features on top of it if people want it or not. Mac's are laughed out of most corporate enviroments except for a few CEO's , top brass that remain off the networks.
So my turnover rate with Apple hardware since Steve Jobs return has been anywhere from 2-4 years on average, before that it was a lot longer, I could use a machine for a long time like 5-7 years.
I'm hoping with this 17" MacBook Pro lovingly taken care of that I can exceed 5 years, but it's not going to happen because Apple is going to drop support for Snow Leopard 10.6 and the newer operating systems are bloated pieces of ugly crap tied to AppStore/AppleID etc. so the erosion to personal privacy is absolute. They just do things and don't care about what users need or want, it's sickening they think they know what's best for everyone and you need to get aboard their way or tak ethe highway. It's so bad now that even Microsoft has gotten into the customer abuse game with Windows 8.
To reinstall OS X requires a fast Internet connection and I can't trust if the software hasn't been tainted along the way or not. What is wrong with proving USB instlal keys with every new Mac?
Glossy screens and unable to physically remove the storage for secure destruction.
I also don't like the threat that Apple is going to forbid installing software from outside sources, they are already doing everything they can to discourage outside sources, calling them malicious etc. We have been installing software from trusted outside sources for decades with no trouble at all.
They are doing everything possible to drive me and others away as customers and after 20 years I will be finally giving them the boot very shortly.
They can go on making computers only for children, but the Mac professional/power user is a dying breed.

WRT54GL V 1.1 : how to reserve IP for specific MAC address using DHCP

My !free! made in China router have this functionality. And yet I have been banging my head with this new reasonably expensive wireless router from Linksys. Anyway I lug my notebook around. I need my home router to be able to automatically configure notebook IP address using DHCP. At the same time I need the ip given by home router through DHCP to be the same IP all the time. So "static" ip is not the solution. Alternative "static" ip is also not a solution. Anything with the word "static" in it is not a solution. I know about third party firmware (wrt or tomato) and I know WRT54GL can be flashed with this third party firware. But I'm not going to void my warranty. This will be my last option but not the solution that I seek. I would like to know how to reserve ip for specific mac address using DHCP for WRT54GL V1.1. If this version have no way to make such configuration, I would like to know if there is official firmware upgrade that address this. Thanks in advance!

It is not possible to create a new iCloud account using a Windows machine. You must create the account using a Mac (10.7.5 or more) or an IOS device (iPhone etc). Once that is done you can sign into and use the account on your Windows machine.
