How was SoundTrack Pro created? Who?

Question

I gather than Soundtrack Pro is a rather different program than Soundtrack, which I have never used.
If it is rather different, where did it come from? How was it created/who created it? Did it originate in the purchase of some earlier program?
If it was not purchased, but created in-house, who created it? What else have they created for Apple?
Could it be that some of the Logic people wrote SoundTrack Pro?
Will mastering SoundTrack Pro be a good starter for learning Logic Pro or will it just makes things worse?

My conclusion via STP is to get the biggest, fastest external Hard Drive which will work from my firewired PowerBook. Run cooler. Also want quiet as I can get. I guess I will get used to plugging and uplugging hard drives.
My chopper time was in piston-engined jobs, pre-Vietnam. The jet-turbine powered choppers had not yet arrived. Our biggest was the H-21, the so-called Flying Banana. I flew co-pilot in one of those. My primary helicopters were the Bell H-13, probably familiar to you with its big bubble front end and tubular fuselage, and the Hiller H-23, with a metal-covered fuselage. The first models had a slanty windshield, but later ones had a bubble, like the Bell.
I was in VietNam in 1962, as a civilian doing a market survey for North American Aviation. The Vietnamese regarded me as a CIA agent. I went with South Vietnamese Army elements as the only caucasian almost to the Cambodian border. Took a lot of pictures.
I had been home only a short time when the infamous battle of Ap Bac occurred, giving the Viet Cong their first big victory. Americans were killed, four Flying Bananas went down, plus one Huey. I was very popular on the military briefing circuit for a time after that, with my current pictures of the then almost unknown VietNam.
No Chinooks. They came later.
