  • Software updates fail to install so does office for mac 2011

When I check for software updates it says I have 5:
MacBook Pro EFI Firware Update v 2.3
    Itunes v 10.5.1
Digital Camera Raw Compatability Update v 3.9
    Java for Mac OS X 10.6 Update 6 v 6.0
MacBook Pro SMC Firware Update v 1.5
When I try to install these items it seems to work fine. It downloads them and prompts me to restart. But when I do, it fails to install any of them ( I have also tried them all one at a time to make sure it's not just one of them messing it up). Then my computer freezes.
    ANY HELP PLEASE??
Also.. I recently downloaded Microsoft for Mac Home and Student 2011. This downloads fine but when i try to install it gets to the end and says that it encountered a problem. Things I've found online and support from both microsoft and apple have told me do not work. I created another account and tried to open office from my share drive--NOPE. I disabled my antivirus--NOPE. I rebooted in safe mode--NOPE. i fixed my permissions--NOPE. I downloaded the trail version which is supposed to be "error free"--NOPE
    ANY HELP PLEASE??
    Thank you

The EFI update should be installed all by itself.
The directions are a bit wacky, and what happens is a bit wacky. If you get that one in, the rest may unclog.

  • How to deinstall Office for Mac 2011 on a MacBook Air with Lion?

    Who can help me?

If you simply want to get rid of Office, find the main program in applications and drag it to the trash. Then use spotlight to find any more Office elements relating to that program that might be located in other places and toss them in the trash. Then empy the trash.

  • HT6114 After the latest OS X update (10.9.2) I cannot open Outlook (Office for MAC 2011). Outlook flashes briefly then nothing happens. How can I get Outlook to open?

After the latest OS X update (10.9.2) I cannot open Outlook (Office for MAC 2011).  Outlook flashes briefly but does not open.  How can I get Outlook to open?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter the name of the crashed application or process in the Filter text field. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V).
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
In the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports (not "Diagnostic and Usage Messages") for crash reports related to the crashed process. The report name starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report and post the entire contents — again, the text, not a screenshot. In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.) Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report — they're very long and not helpful.

  • My iMac has MS Office for mac 2011 and I want to get it onto my iPad 4. How?

My iMac has MS Office for mac 2011 and I want to get it onto my iPad 4. How?

    This is not possible.
Apps for the Mac are for Mac conputers only running Mac OS X only. iDevices use Apple's mobile OS iOS. They are not cross compatible OSes.
You would have to use the App Store on your iPad to see if Microsoft has done a scaled down iOS version of Microsoft office for Apple iDevices. I am not sure if they have or not.
The only Microsoft-like office apps for your iPad that are on The App Store for your iPad is Apple's own Pages, Numbers and Keynote.
    Good Luck.

I'm running MS Office 2011 on Lion and it runs just fine.  No "Full Screen", but it runs just fine.  There may have been an update to install (I know there was an iWork one anyway), but even before I installed any updates Office '11 worked just fine.

  • How do I sync from ical and address book to office for mac 2011

How do I sync from ical and address book to office for mac 2011 in outlook?  icloud is turned on, sync is turned on in outlook and in itunes.  Email working fine in outlook, but no contact or calendar information.  Microsoft said it is an Apple issue.  They said icloud is not compatible with Outlook.  I have OS Lion if you need to know that.

Then something is setup incorrectly, which version of OSX are you on, and is this an iCloud mail address (@mac, @me or @icloud)
From your description of the issue I suspect that it is Outlook that is incorrectly setup.

  • I was having problems with a 7-month old version of office for mac 2011, so I completely removed it from my computer. How do I reinstall it?

Office for Mac 2011 worked fine until yesterday, then I started having problems. I know I completely deleted the trial version, so please do not suggest that as the cause. I also know that I bought a legitimate full version online from the Microsoft store 7 months ago, and I still have the product key. But since I don't have any trace of Office on my Mac anymore, how do I reinstall it? I tried looking on the Microsoft website, but it wasn't helpful. The only other thing I can do is contact Microsoft customer support, which will probably take forever. So, to respond to this post, please: do not mention trial versions for Office, do not mention Microsoft website. I tried posting another question on this topic, but the people who replied did not seem to understand that their suggestions were not relevant.

I see you had another post for this same issue where you clearly explained your problem.  There were important details in your other thread that would have helped us in assisting you.  You started this new thread, understandably frustrated.  None of us are mind readers.  You started right off telling us not to mention the only two things that would resolve the problem you had mentioned here which was simply that you had uninstalled office and you were trying to reinstall it.  Reading your other thread, it's clear why you made that comment.  It's generally not a good idea to open multiple threads for the same issue as anyone reading this thread would have no idea what steps you have already taken and what suggestions have already been made.

  • In Office for Mac 2011 After creating a Button how do I change its shape without triggering its assigned macro?

In Office for Mac 2011, after creating a button how do I change its shape without triggering its assigned macro?

For questions about Microsoft's tools, it would be best to ask in the Microsoft Support Forums. They would likely have more experience than people here.

  • Office for Mac 2011 - how to do animation macros

How can I add a button to play an animation in a bubble chart in Office for Mac 2011?
I am trying to create an animated chart for a presentation, I finally found and have added the developer ribbon so I can add buttons and write the macro to make it work.  I have a macro code to use to make the animation work.  I am using the following code to write what the button should do:
    Sub Button4_Click()
        Dim i As Integer
        For i = 0 To 8:
            Range("J2").Value = i
            Application.Calculate
            Sleep (100)
        Next
    End Sub
but I keep getting a highlight over "Sub Button4_Click()" and something that indicates the format is incorrect.  I tried to make a new button and use just the code part beginning with "Dim. . ." to the end, but it still wouldn't work.
Please help, my presentation is close and I don't even have my chart working!  Thanks!

I would like to get data analysis for solving statistic and making graphs, but this function is not in add-in. How should I do? I also set up microsoft office for mac 2011.

Microsoft didn't include that with the 2011 version.
There is a third-party application that substitutes for the add-in: http://www.analystsoft.com/en/products/statplusmac/
They also have a limited, free version.

    what's going on?

Assuming the system info at the bottom of your post is correct, MS Office for Mac 2011 requires at least OS 10.5.8 and you've still got 10.5.7. See here. There may be other incompatibilities too (check the link for more info) but your OS is a good place to start.
