How will downgrading itunes affect my iphone?

I am totally frustrated with itunes at this point. I loved having my artwork in the sidebar in song view mode (including the little arrows to see multiple artworks).
Every version since then seems to downgrade this feature. I would like to go back to when that worked the way that I liked it. I believe the last version to have this (With the little arrows) was 10.4.1? Can anyone confirm that?
I have been able to find lots of info on how to downgrade itunes, but my concern is how will this affect my iphone 4. Will I still be able to update my phone? Or will itunes want me to update itunes before I can update my phone?

What I have done is create playlists and I'll download the playlists to the iPhone while I'm at home, on Wi Fi, and listen while I'm out and about. I've only downloaded the occasional tracks on 3G (mainly because at&t's network was so terrible). This method worked pretty well for me.

I have been using Office for Mac 2011 for almost a year now and the issue started immediately after doing the upgrade.
When I start Outlook I can see that it takes 1 minute plus to set up the identity.
When it finally runs it is very slow and no fun to use. It seems that Outlook is using very few resources when I look at the activity monitor.
Overall it seems that my IMac has become slower than before upgrading to 10.8.
I do not have support with MSFT anymore and I do hope that somebody does report this issue to MSFT.
To me it seems to be very clear a result of the upgrade.

How to downgrade iTunes 12 to 11.4?

I recently upgraded iTunes to 12.0.1 and want to downgrade back to 11.4. I run the 11.4 installer and it says "A newer version of iTunes is already installed." So I use the terminal to delete it (sudo rm -rf /Applications/iTunes.app/) and also trash the preferences as well as Library/Caches/com.apple.iTunes. Now I'm able to run the 11.4 installer, but when I launch iTunes, I get an error: "A required iTunes component is not installed. Please reinstall iTunes (-42401)." Any ideas on how I can successfully downgrade iTunes to 11.4?
It needs to be 11.4 since I share my iTunes library between two macs via file sharing, and one of them is an older mac which is unable to upgrade to version 12.

1) Open Terminal and run:
sudo rm -rf /Applications/iTunes.app
This will delete the iTunes 12 application.
2) If your Music Library is in its default place, also in the terminal:
open ~/Music/iTunes
3) Using Time Machine restore the following files:
Album Artwork <– Folder
iTunes Library
iTunes Library Extras.itdb
iTunes Library Genius.itdb
iTunes Library.xml
iTunes Library.itl
iTunes Music Library.xml
Previous iTunes Libraries <– Folder
No need to replace your iTunes Music Folder. You may not need to replace all these files but it can’t hurt.
4) Back in the terminal:
open /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks
Use Time Machine again to restore the following files:
AirTrafficHost.framework
CoreADI.framework
CoreFP.framework
DeviceLink.framework
iTunesAccess.framework
MobileDevice.framework

I have about 30Gb of music in iTunes. I spent significant time selecting my favorite Songs/Artists to put on the iPhone 4s, since the phone only has 16Gb of memory. As far as I'm aware, an iTunes backup of your iPod Touch only backs up things such as Apps, and certain other data. It doesn't backup your music.
So assuming that the backup you're referring to is not a specific and separate backup of your music, then no, you will not be able to use the backup to put your music onto the new iPod.
It's a bit late now, but for the future, you need to keep your music etc. in the iTunes Library - and back that music up, preferably to an external drive.
As for your original issue - the speaker on the Touch not turning off when you insert the headphones, have you tried a reset of the Touch? It's certainly the first thing suggested in the iPod Touch forum.

The actual files must be on the computer HDD to be synced to an iPod Classic. Syncing of that model of iPod will not work if the files are not there.
If you are going to re-add the files back to your library the best way to do it is to restore from the backup you made before you deleted all the song files.

I have an iphone in recovery mode and I'm trying to restore it, however, every time I begin to restore it, iTunes quits. I've been told to uninstall and then reinstall iTunes on the iBook. I HATE itunes 12! Among other reasons, it changed the name I gave my iphone 6+ to just "iphone," which renders my phone undiscoverable by any of my blue tooth devices until I set them all up again using the new name...and I can't find a way to change the name of the phone back to what it was....I can't even get to the phone "pages" in itunes! And that's just the "first verse" in my litany of complaints. I won't bore you with the rest, but I really NEED to get rid of this thing...and I will NEVER upgrade again without first finding out whether people like it or not!
So how do I get rid of 12 and reinstall 11.4 in Windows 7 64 bit without also restoring the phone to factory settings??? I'll even do that if it's the only way, but I'd rather not. The version in my downloads file is 11.3.1.2...if I uninstall 12 and install it, itunes will want to "upgrade" it, but will go directly to 12. So where do I find a downloadable 11.4?

If you really want to roll back to 11.4 uninstall all iTunes/Apple components, restore the pre-upgrade version of the library as described in Empty/corrupt iTunes library after upgrade/crash, then download and install from one of these direct links:
