How will i convince a client to go for Geniric extractor ..

Hi All,
How will i convince a client to go for Generic extractor and in which scenario?
Thanks & Rgds
-Tapas

hi,
Always it is suggestable to go for SAP provided business content extractors, since they have statndard routine and standard datasource for each applications. if you need addition fields then you can enhance the same.
hence try using business content extractions. like LO,FI and HR extractors.
SAP have standard notes for problems on business content extractors which is more useful.
If the client requiremnet is more complex and is not fulfilled by the business content then choose to go for generic.

    Generally speaking, your bank would use a cookie to store your card number (bad) or to associate your browser with its list of saved card numbers (less bad). If you have cookies cleared after each session, then you may be blocking this feature.
    To check your cookie handling for your bank's site, when you are on the site, right-click the page and choose View Page Info, then Permissions. Under "Set Cookies" most likely the "Use Default" checkbox is checked. The actual setting will appear in gray.
    If the actual setting is not Allow, then uncheck "Use Default" and check "Allow." This will take effect the next time you start Firefox or if you clear the site's cookies on the Security tab (View Cookies button) and then revisit the site.
    If the actual setting already is Allow, then some other feature (e.g., clearing history when you exit) or program (e.g., a security suite) is clearing the cookie.

  • How can I Create a Client Configuration File for RemoteApp and Desktop Connection with Server 2012?

    I have a working RDS RemoteApp site and looking to test out the feature in Windows 7 Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\RemoteApp and Desktop Connections
    I came across this link: Create a Client Configuration File for RemoteApp and Desktop Connection and I believe this is what I need to do first, but these instructions are for
    Server 2008, and I'm running 2012.
    Any suggestions or tips on how I can begin testing this with Server 2012?

    Hi,
    You can manually enter the path to the 2012 feed and it will connect and download the RemoteApps and Desktop connections.
    If you need a sample .wcx file I have posted one here a couple of times.  If you want I will look for it and post a link.
    -TP
    I tried adding my URL's below, these are sample links that work for me right now for when I log into the web page, but neither of these work.  And I'm not sure what I would need to do with or how to create a .wcx file.
    When I type in my URL of: https://connect.mydomain.org/RDWeb, I get redirected to:

  • How configure Windows 8.1 Clients with IE11 for SSO with Kerberos SPNEGO

    We are using BI Publisher OBIEE 11.1.1.7 with SSO Kerberos SPNEGO.
    The Weblogic Server Version is WLS_PRODUCT_VERSION=10.3.5.0
    The SSO is working very well with Clients that are Windows XP or Windows 2003 R2. We had testet wit IE7,IE8 Firefox.
    Now as we become Windows 8.1 Clients with IE11 the Kerberos SPNEGO SSO is not working.
    Please give us advice or a HOW TO Document about the configuration on Windows 8.1 Cllients with IE11 Browser.
    I find many Dokuments related to older Windows Versions for example
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/idm/weblogic-sso-kerberos-1619890.html
    but nothing for Windows 8.1 Clients
    Thanks in advance.

    The location for tabs in IE11 browser might be different but the steps are the same :
    Configure Local Intranet Domains
       1. In Internet Explorer, select Tools > Internet Options.
       2. Select the Security tab.
       3. Select Local intranet and click Sites.
       4. In the Local intranet popup, ensure that the Include all sites that bypass the proxy server and Include all local (intranet) sites not listed in other zones options are checked.
       5. Click Advanced.
       6. In the Local intranet (Advanced) dialog box, add all relative domain names that will be used for Oracle WebLogic Server instances participating in the SSO configuration (for example, myhost.example.com) and click OK.
    Configure Intranet Authentication
       1. Select Tools > Internet Options.
       2. Select the Security tab.
       3. Select Local intranet and click Custom Level... .
       4. In the Security Settings dialog box, scroll to the User Authentication section.
       5. Select Automatic logon only in Intranet zone. This option prevents users from having to re-enter logon credentials, which is a key piece to this solution.
       6. Click OK.
    Verify Proxy Settings
    If you have a proxy server enabled:
       1. Select Tools > Internet Options.
       2. Select the Connections tab and click LAN Settings.
       3. Verify that the proxy server address and port number are correct.
       4. Click Advanced.
       5. In the Proxy Settings dialog box, ensure that all desired domain names are entered in the Exceptions field.
       6. Click OK to close the Proxy Settings dialog box.
    What is the error reported by the browser / wls logs ?

  • How to identify update mode in function module for generic extractor

    Hi All,
    I have created generic extractor using function module which supports delta load.
    Delta logic is handeled in coding...by using ROOSGENDLM table.
    Now problem is we need to identify the update mode, requested from infopackage in our function module in order to apply logic for Repair full.
    I would like to know table or parameter in source system, which contain the update mode (Init , Delta , Full).
    Thanks,
    Niraj

    Hi Niraj
    You can use the FM import parameter "i_updmode" (This is of type "SBIWA_S_INTERFACE-UPDMODE") to determine if infopackage triggerred in full or delta mode.
    I_REQUNR     TYPE     SBIWA_S_INTERFACE-REQUNR
    I_ISOURCE     TYPE     SBIWA_S_INTERFACE-ISOURCE                               InfoSource Name
    I_MAXSIZE     TYPE     SBIWA_S_INTERFACE-MAXSIZE                               Data Packet size
    I_INITFLAG     TYPE     SBIWA_S_INTERFACE-INITFLAG                               Initial Flag
    I_UPDMODE     TYPE     SBIWA_S_INTERFACE-UPDMODE                               Update Mode
    I_DATAPAKID     TYPE     SBIWA_S_INTERFACE-DATAPAKID                               Datapacket Id
    I_PRIVATE_MODE
    I_CALLMODE     TYPE     ROARCHD200-CALLMODE                               Single-Character Flag

  • How will card payments be submitted for processing?

    I’m setting up an online shop for my client, where products will be sold seamlessly through a payment gateway (SecurePay). My client is in the process of applying for a NAB merchant account. One of the questions on NAB’s application form is:
    How will you be submitting your card payments for processing?
    Virtual terminal or batched payments using tokenisation – you are not storing card details in your own systems.
    Hosted payment page or transparent redirect – card details are not transmitted via your systems (eg. NAB Transact Direct Post or Hosted Payment Page).
    API or batched payments – you store and/or transmit card details via your own systems.
    Which of these options apply to collecting credit card payments using a payment gateway with Business Catalyst? Is it the first, “you are not storing card details in your own systems”?

    Credit card details are not stored on the BC system - It complies to PCI Level 1 compliance.
    Your payment type is dependant on your payment gateway, you mentioned seamless so that rules out 2 as well as 3 as no credit card details are stored.

  • How will you generate the work schedule in live system

    How will you generate the live system
    Appreciate for sppedy answer

    Your live system must be open for table changes if you want to generate your work schedule rules - this will need to be done by your basis team.
    Usually, work schedule rules are generated in development and transported through to production.  The generation is performed by using program RPTSHF00 (or transaction code OG00).  You generate as a batch with the 'BTCI = ''/online, ='A' or 'E'"field set to E.  This will save the generation to a transport.  If you have a lot of work schedule rules, you may need to split the generation over more than one transport.

  • How will decide which method is suitable for uploading data

    Hi,
    How will you decide which method is suitable for uploading data

    Hi,
    <li>If you haver very few records, even entering manually is also an option.
    <li>In most cases where we need more than 20,000 records , BAPI or Direct input would be the fastest. Here error handling is tough here.
    <li>You can use BDC(Session and Call transaction methods), where we can write code to identify error records, if you get error records, those can be reprocessed.

  • How to authenticate a JWS Client download of jar files on a web server

    Here is a history of how i tried to implement the auth system:
    The resources(jar files) cannot be downloaded by any HTTP client from the server without some authentication method.
    As JWS is not reliable when using cookies (only 1.5 supports them, but with problems when in JNLP file i specify j2se version=older that 1.5) , i implemented another mecanism that works like this:
    1. 1.The template JNLP looks like this
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <jnlp codebase="http://10.3.0.62/" href="mapped/#JWS_CODE#___#PLATFORM#___app2.2.jnlp">
        <information>
           bla bla
        </information>
        <security>
            <all-permissions/>
        </security>
        <resources>
            <j2se version="1.4"/>
            <jar href="http://10.3.0.62/mapped/gui.jar?jwsid=#JWS_CODE#" version="2.2"/>
            <jar href="http://10.3.0.62/mapped/data.jar?jwsid=#JWS_CODE#" version="2.2"/>
            <jar href="http://10.3.0.62/mapped/log4j.jar?jwsid=#JWS_CODE#"/>
        </resources>
        <application-desc main-class="com.bet.blues.gui.Application">
            <argument>-host</argument>
            <argument>ursus</argument>
            <argument>-port</argument>
            <argument>17771</argument>
        </application-desc>
    </jnlp>2. All resources found in /mapped/ directory are mapped to JWSServlet
    3. The users login to a site , clik on link , /mapped/app2.2.jnlp , the servlet checks if the session is active , gets the PLATFORM form browser request header , gets the JWSCODE for the logged user, replaces this in the template, and returns it to the client
    4.Now after the 1st download the JNLP file is opened by JWS Client , that checks for latest version , requesting the JNLP file again
    like this:
    GET http://10.3.0.62/mapped/f12ks21092___windows___app2.2.jnlp5.Now the servlet sees the the request has a JNLP file name with an ID and PLATFORM, and serves the JNLP as before
    6.The JWS Client will request for JAR Files
    GET http://10.3.0.62/mapped/gui.jar?jwscode=f12ks21092?version-id=2.2Note: that i have forced JWSID parameter in the URL, that's why the query string contains 2 "?"
    - forcing this is because the mapped/*.jar is redirected JnlpDownloadServlet that supports versions , diffs - i cannot use 'version' to put there the jswid param(e.g .../mapped/gui.jar version="fk12ks21092_2.2" because the JnlpDownloadServlet will not find this version , and if JWS Servlet will redirect to JnlpDownloadServlet with correct version param in request, the JWS Client will raise an exception because version responded is not right(JNLPDownloadServlet marks in response HTTP header the version of the jar so JWS CLient will chek it)
    JWS Client expects version 'fk12ks21092_ver2.2'; to correct this i should modify the JnlpDownloadServlet and i shouldnt
    THE PROBLEM :
    on older versions than 1.5 JWS Client raises an exception because it wants to create a temp file named
    " gui.jar?jwscode=f12ks21092" because it contains "?"
    Only with 1.5 that seems to parse the jar name until it meets "?" char :(
    Thats why i wanted to send an error to the client to upgrade to Java Web Start 1.5
    Now, maybe u have a solution to this problem...
    All i want is a solution to let JWS Client download jars only if the user is authenticated by some mecanism....and also support the versioning system.
    Also:
    Note that the jar names must preserve on the client JWS Cache dir ( i cannot use the same method to pass the JWSCODE when requesting the JARS as when requesting the JNLP).

    You need to look into JAAS

  • Sun JSC2 - How to download files to client

    Hi, imagine a document management site.
    I want to have a list of files with links that users can click to download them.
    Users can upload files (with handy File Upload component), and they get saved as byte streams to a file or database or whatever.
    Now, I have a page with a list of files the user can download. The file name, a link to save the file, and a link to download the file.
    File1.pdf . . . DOWNLOAD IT! . . . SAVE IT!
    The DOWNLOAD IT! link tries to use mime stuff to get the browser to open the file.
    The SAVE IT! link tells the browser to not process the file and always bring up the save as dialog. In both cases, I don't want the browser to open a new page.
    Starting with a byte[], what's the best way to do this? I searched the web, and these forums, but couldn't come up with anything that gave me a place to start from inside JSC2.
    Any ideas on where to start? Thanks in advance!
    Mike

    Hey Winston, here is what I came up with... Very similar, but a little different.
    Java Server Faces File Download Tutorial by Michael Cole
    Java Server Faces, abstracts much of the monotonous detail of web programming, letting application developers develop applications, instead of programming servers.
    This tutorial explains how to dip just a little under the covers to serve files to a browser. The browser can then interpret this binary data using MIME types. Some common MIME types are text/plain, text/html, or application/pdf or application/x-unknown.
    How the browser behaves when interacting with these MIME types is based on the client browser's configuration. Because this configuration is different for every browser, let's create two different behaviors:
    * First Behavior: When a link is clicked, the browser downloads and opens the file, either displaying the file itself, or choosing an appropriate program: zip file program, pdf program, etc.
    * Second Behavior: The browser always offers to save the file, no matter what.
    At the most basic level, we want to cause this chain of events:
    1. Cause browser to send a request to the server.
    2. Have the server create a response that sends the file to the client.
    For my purposes, the browser should not navigate to a new page for this behavior.
    A mockup might look like this:
    Files you can download:
    Secrets of the Universe.txt
    Open it!
    Save it!
    Perfect love and happiness.pdf
    Open it!
    Save it!
    Make a million dollars now.swf
    Open it!
    Save it!
    To accomplish this, we will execute this code on the server:
    // Find the HttpServletResponse object for this request.
    // With this object, we can create a response that sends the file.
    FacesContext faces = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse) faces.getExternalContext().getResponse();
    // We can also get information about what the browser requested.
    // This could tell us what data to send
    HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) faces.getExternalContext().getRequest();
    // Your data can be stored in a database, generated at runtime, or whatever you choose.
    // We getSomeData() from an arbitrary location. This depends on your application.
    byte[] data = getSomeData(request);
    // In the response, we will specify a file name to present to the user.
    String filename = "myFile.txt";
    // Now we have the data to send, and the response object to send it with.
    // Next we give the browser some hints on what to do with the file.
    // Note that different browsers will behave differently and you have no control over this.
    // We'll use different mime types to implement the different "Open" and "Save" behaviors.
    // "application/x-unknown" will be the MIME type used for the "Save" behavior.
    response.setContentType(mimeType);
    // We tell the browser how much data to expect.
    response.setContentLength(data.length);
    // Cross-browser hack for Firefox 1.0.7 and IE 6 compatibility.
    // IE 6 ignores the MIME type and decides based on the "attachment" or "inline"
    if (mimeType.equals("application/x-unknown")) {
    // Show the "Save As..." dialog
    response.setHeader( "Content-disposition", "attachment; filename=\"" + filename + "\"");
    } else {
    // attempt to "open" the file
    response.setHeader( "Content-disposition", "inline; filename=\"" + filename + "\"");
    // Now we start sending data with the response object.
    // You might consider using a buffer if your data comes from a large file
    // or a database.
    try {
    ServletOutputStream out;
    out = response.getOutputStream();
    out.write(data);
    } catch (IOException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    // Lastly and very importantly, we tell Java Server Faces that
    // the request has been handled and not to process it any more.
    faces.responseComplete();
    Now all we have to do is put this code somewhere.
    Step 1: Build the page UI.
    * Create a new page in Java Studio Creator. Let's call it download.jsp
    * Make it the start page (right-click)
    * Add a hyperlink component and call it Open!
    * If you like, add a static text that describes your file.
    Step 2: Tell Java Server Faces what to do when the hyperlink is clicked.
    * Doubleclick the hyperlink and add this code to it's action:
    public String hyperlink1_action() {
    // TODO: Replace with your code
    DownloadBean d = new DownloadBean();
    d.sendFile("text/plain");
    return null;
    * Compile the download.java and get a cannot find symbol for class DownloadBean. Now we have a place to put our code to send the file!
    Step 3: Build the DownloadBean that will serve the file.
    * Go to your "Source Packages" folder and create a new Java class in the project's package. Call this class DownloadBean.
    * Copy this code into the class:
    public void sendFile(String mimeType) {
    FacesContext faces = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
    HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse) faces.getExternalContext().getResponse();
    HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) faces.getExternalContext().getRequest();
    byte[] data = getSomeData(request);
    String filename = "myFile.txt";
    // Note that different browsers will behave differently and you have no control over this.
    // We'll use different mime types to implement the different "Open" and "Save" behaviors.
    // "application/x-unknown" will be the MIME type used for the "Save" behavior.
    response.setContentType(mimeType);
    response.setContentLength(data.length);
    // Cross-browser hack for Firefox 1.0.7 and IE 6 compatibility.
    // IE 6 ignores the MIME type and decides based on the "attachment" or "inline"
    if (mimeType.equals("application/x-unknown")) {
    // Show the "Save As..." dialog
    response.setHeader( "Content-disposition", "attachment; filename=\"" + filename + "\"");
    } else {
    // attempt to "open" the file
    response.setHeader( "Content-disposition", "inline; filename=\"" + filename + "\"");
    // Now we start sending data with the response object.
    try {
    ServletOutputStream out;
    out = response.getOutputStream();
    out.write(data);
    } catch (IOException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    faces.responseComplete();
    * Hit Ctrl-Shift-F to make the code pretty.
    * Try and compile DownloadBean.java. Build->Compile
    * As expected, you will get a variety of cannot find symbol errors.
    * Hit Ctrl-Alt-F to clean these up, by automatically adding the proper imports.
    * Try and compile again and you will get a cannot find symbol error for the getSomeData() function. That's ok cause we didn't write it yet.
    * Copy this code into the DownloadBean class:
    public byte[] getSomeData(Object o) {
    // ignore the HttpServletRequest object and return some data.
    return "Hello World!".getBytes();
    * Compile the file one last time to get a clean compile.
    Why didn't we put this code directly in the hyperlink1_action() function? Because we are separating the model from the "view" and "controller". DownloadBean can be reused in any page of your application now.
    Step 4: Test
    1. Run the project and open the page in the Firefox web browser.
    2. Click the Open It! hyperlink
    3. A text file should appear in Firefox that says Hello World!
    Great! We sent the file, Firefox interpreted the text/plain MIME type, and presented the text as a browser page. This covers our Open It! functionality.
    To serve other kinds of files, pass a different MIME type in the sendFile() function.
    For a list of MIME types, check out http://www.webmaster-toolkit.com/mime-types.shtml
    Step 5: Save It! Functionality.
    What if we always want the file to be saved, no matter what foolishness the browser wants to do with the file?
    * Go back to the Design of download.jsp.
    * Add another hyperlink to the page, label it Save It!
    * Double click the hyperlink and JSC2 will take you to its action function.
    * Add this code to the function
    public String hyperlink2_action() {
    // TODO: Replace with your code
    DownloadBean d = new DownloadBean();
    d.sendFile("application/x-unknown");
    return null;
    Notice the difference in the MIME type? We changed text/plain to application/x-unknown. Notice also in the sendFile() function the cross-browser hack to get IE 6.0 to save or open the file.
    * Run the project one last time.
    * Test with Firefox
    * Test with Internet Explorer
    Done!

  • How to handle multiple DEV clients in CHARM

    Experts:
    We have many DEV clients  in our ECC landscape.
    Some customizing needs to be imported into all DEV clients.
    In order to use CHARM to do above import into different  DEV clients, I want to define some logical components with only
    2 systems, i.e. source DEV client and target DEV client (e.g.  DEV100->DEV200).  Then link this logical component to a
    project.
    In this way we will define  many projects (logical componets, maintenance cycles)  depending on how path combinations existing on  the STMS setup.
    Could you help verify whether this will work as expected? Because I did not configure 2 system  tp for CHARM before therefore I am not sure.
    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,
    you should take a look to those 2 threads especially the second one IF those other clients are USED FOR CREATING TR:
    Re: Multiple clients in DEV and QA for CHARM setup
    Change Request Management for multiple production clients
    IF the other clients should just be synchronized with custo done in the first one then the lines above will help you.
    Important fact "A Solman Project can have more than a logical component."
    So for example in your case if you are trying to update DEV 200 with DEV 100 when importing TR to quality system (200 must be a kind of reference client for you),
    you ll simply have to declare a Solman Project containing the core logical component (for ex: DEV 100 -> QUAL 100 -> PRD 100) AND another one that ll let you import in DEV 200 (DEV 100 -> DEV 200).
    In your generated tasklist you'll then find DEV 200 under Target Systems node; like if it was a QUAL system AND you ll find tasks as "Import Transport Requests" available for DEV 200.
    As a prerequesite you MUST declare DEV 200 in your logical component as a Target Role System and not as a Source Role System (like DEV 100) (Transaction SMSY). Otherwise Solman will understand that DEV 200 will be used only for creating and releasing TR and it will be considered like DEV 100
    Hope it helps
    Keep me updated with how it goes
    Regards
    Khalil

  • How to use remote desktop client in mountain lion

    How to use remote desktop client in mountain lion.
    I want to connect my other system(ubuntu) using mac remote desktop client, But i could not locate remote desktop client in moutain lion.

    In Ubuntu 12.xx use Dash to find "Desktop Sharing" and set the preferences, including requiring a password.
    Then in Ubu use System Settings > Network to determine your Ubu machine's IP address, such as 192.168.1.13.
    On the Mountain Lion Mac do Finder > Go > Connect to Server   and enter:  vnc://192.168.1.13  or whatever your IP is.  Enter the password that you used in the Ubu Desktop Sharing setup, when asked.
    On the Ubu machine answer the question that pops up asking for permission to connect.  Your Ubu screen will now show up on the Mac, and you can remote control it.   Here I am running "Octave" (a math program) on the Ubu machine, remotely.
    Works great!  BTW, you can do this from an iPad too, using a VNC client such as Mocha VNC Lite.  You can even run both remotes simultaneously.
    Good luck.

    I am completely new to LabWindows/CVI.  I will be starting soon with the tutorial, "Getting Started with LabWindows/CVI".  However, our application needs to communicate with an RSLinx OPC Server.  Any documentaiton on how to learn to do this would be very much appreciated.

    http://www.ni.com/white-paper/4626/en/  Just did a quick google and this came up, Labwindows CVI and Labview are quite different but I usually look at Labview examples then try take the general idea from the example and apply it in CVI, hope this helps
