How would I reduce pixels?

I am trying to reduce a JPG photo from 3008 x 2000 to 1600 x 1200. I need to e-mail this shot to a local magazine I'm working for.
I have consulted the "Help" feature and been through the menu several times and cannot find an answer. I tried "Export," but when I put in one number, the other one would change.
I hope someone can help me! Thanks!

Thanks Larry! This seems to have worked. At first, the 16 x 12 crop looked like it would cut off the top of someone's head. Once I did the export, everything was intact when it came up in Preview. I hope it will be the same when I send it off for publication.
If you know of any Iphoto or other tutorials on adjusting pictures according to pixels or dpis, please post them here. Thank you again!

I just purchased PhotoShop12 and am trying to reduce a photo that is 1856 x1152 pixels to a photo that would be 720x480 pixels, but the only options offered on the drop-down image size menu are:
percent, inches, cm, mm, points, picas and columns. There is no pixel option. How do I get a pixel option?

Also note that if you check 'Resample Image' you can then specify pixels in the top part of the resize window but, as hatstead says, this is only sensible if you are maintaining an aspect ratio or if the image is abstract and you don't mind distortion.

What format are they? Tiif? Jpeg? You can compress them with a lot of apps - including Preivew and just about any graphics editor out there. I'm not sure that 45mb would crash iPhoto thogh, are yo sure that's the cause? I know that some folks have mentioned pixel dimensions causing issues, as can color profiles.

I'm very new to my iMac. I've saved several dozen photos in iPhoto and just tried to upload one of them to a boating website. It was apparently too 'big' in that it had too many pixels. My question: How do I copy a photo in a reduced pixel 'size' so I can upload it to a website with a pixel limit? Thx,

You would probably have to crop the photo to the correct ratio first

After the photo is cropped, then you would follow the directions above to export it.
Put the length and height in pixels in the appropriate boxes and export to the desktop.
If you need more help then give more info on the exact size of the photo you need exported.

Start menu > control panel > appearance & personalization > display > calibrate color
I would adjust the keyboard setting back to midway before calibrating, this way you have some flexibility to use that again.

First thing you have to do is check the report how the data is being restricted only to those months.
1) one it can be variable in which the code is written for that to populate for last few years.
or else it must have been hardcoded for these months.
Go into your report and underneath the characteristicsCALMONTH there must be an variable or hardcoding.
You need to change this here in the report.
You dont have to delete anything there.

Jpeg Quality and Size will have most effect on file size. Note that 'Size' refers to the pixel dimensions of the photo.

Open the image in Preview.

Reducing pixel dimensions increases document size.

In photoshop cs6. Working on an image of 15000x18662 pixels, with about 100+ layers. doc size 800mb/6.43GB. To optimize speed, I reduced the file size to the absolute minimum I need which is 13200x16423. However now the file size grew bigger 620.2M/6.45GB. Some layers extend beyond the visible image area, so I cropped the image "deleting cropped pixels" , but this increased the image even further to 6.50GB. What's going on here?

Depending on the interpolation settings on the content downsampling might result in a lessened effect of the applied compression.
You seem to give the approximated values from "Document Sizes" in the status bar – what is the actual file’s size?
