Touch and hold the App until the apps wiggle and show an X in the upper left corner of the App.
Click the X to delete it from your device.
Not all Apps can be deleted.
If they came with the device, you cannot delete them.

I recently downloaded Ios 7 and all the songs that i have purchased before, but deleted off my itunes because i didn't want them, showed up. I don't know how to delete them off my ipod and i really don't want them there. Is there a way to get them off? The songs dont show up in my itunes on my computer, just on my ipod with a download button next to them. I don't want them there anymore because i don't like that kind of music anymore and i don't know how to get them to go away.

There is a similar setting for Videos on that Settings screen, so if you leave that 'on' you may have similar happening in the Videos app

  • Can you delete songs off ipad 2 ios 8.1 by swiping song

can you delete songs off ipad 2 ios 8.1 by swiping song

tapping on the cloud icon downloads the song to your iPad. It does NOT send the song to the cloud. The song is already in the cloud and that is why the download icon is next to it, so that you can download it if you choose to do so.
THe songs that you see that you said that you did not download might be the Songs of Innocence U2 Album that Apple pushed to everybody's devices sometime ago. If you want to remove them, try this and see if it still works.

  • How do you delete programs off a mac?

I just got a Macbook over the summer, and I have downloaded some programs that I now want to remove permanently. How would I do that? I have been a PC user for so long, it's been hard to figure out. Thanks!

Just to build on what Martin said... It's really just the opposite of the Windows world. In the Windows world, you're told to always uninstall (not just delete the folder for the program) because when you install something in Windows it writes data all over the place. What you see as an application in OS X is actually a package... all the files you need for that application are in that package... you just don't ever see them. So, when you delete what just looks like a program icon, it's really getting rid of all the files associated with the program. As Martin mentioned, there are usually some preferences created when you install an application. These are just tiny text files, but in the interest of keeping things tidy, as mentioned, just use Spotlight to search for any lingering preference files. Just be sure the files are for the program you are deleting. You should also note that Spotlight will also show you programs that are in your trash. So, once you delete them, you will still see them... only they will now show up as being in your trash. Once you empty your trash, they'll be completely gone. You should be fine with just deleting the application icon for most programs... but some programs do come with un-installers (often relaunching the installer that you used to install the program will bring up an un-installer). Basically, if you just dragged the program to your applications folder to install it... just dragging it to the trash will get rid of it. If you actually got an installer come up when you installed the program, there is probably an uninstaller. There is no Add/Remove Programs in OS X like you have in Windows.

  • How to delete updates for IOS 7?

Updates for IOS 7 download automatically when my device is connected to a power source and Wifi. I don't want to install them as I don't like this flash and useless design. My problem is, I just cannot delete those updates that take up nearly 2 G in my device. They are now mokey on my back. Whate can I do?

    Everyone,
In order to delete some of the songs that are not delete(able?) you have to first re-download them from the cloud. There just seems to be some confusion with the itunes match having songs show up that are not actually on your machine therefore, you aren't able to delte them.
-'Settings > Music' and toggle OFF "Show All Music"
-delete all the songs you are able to download.
-make a note of all teh songs you can't and then,
-'Settings > Music' and toggle ON "Show All Music"
-go back to iTunes on your device and re-download (click on the cloud icon) all the songs you noted in the last step
-Once they're all downloaded on to your device,
-go back to 'Settings > Music' and toggle OFF "Show All Music"
and the songs you donwloaded should be the only ones showing up.
-Delete those and you should have a "media on deivce" or something
-go back to 'Settings > Music' and toggle ON "Show All Music"
-and you should have a clean iTunes Match library.

  • How to delete music in iCloud ???

I want various songs off my 5s. I have "searched" for them in my itunes on my mac and the songs that are in my phones library are not there.
I attempted to go on my icloud to edit the songs and I dont see an itunes option when I sign in. When I see the song in my phones library there in a could image and an arrow in it (obviously indicating that I can download the song to the phone) but I am assuming this means the song is in some sort of could????
I have tried playing around on my sync settings on my mac computer and again, since they are not in the comuters library I can not uncheck the box associated with the song.
How do I get these songs off my phone and out of my speakers?!

These "iTunes in the Cloud" songs can't be deleted as they are not stored in your personal iCloud account.  They are just links to your previous purchased in the iTunes store, allowing you to redownload them.
If you don't want to see iTunes in the Cloud songs in your song list, your can hide them by going to Settings>Music and turning off "Show all music".  If you don't want to see them in your purchased listed in the iTunes store app either, you can hide them in iTunes on your computer as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919.

  • Turn off show all music; extra songs appear in iPhone library; unable to delete

I turn ON 'show all music', then download a couple more songs I want from iCloud to expand my iPhone5 library.  Then I turn 'show all music' back OFF and a myriad of other songs appear in my library that I did not want downloded to my phone (nor did I select from the cloud) and I am unable to delete them from the library...
This sounds like a glitch with the iOS 7.0.4 as I am unable to find a similar solution in the community other than "delete all your music and start over..." which is not the route I'd like to take.  If there are other remedies out there, please help!  Apple, if you're listening, please fix!  I have over 750 songs in the cloud!

Items with the Cloud icon are not on your phone. They are items that have been purchased previously but have since been deleted. You can download them again by tapping the Cloud icon.

  • How to delete music

I've been trying to sync my music for weeks now. iTunes isn't letting me. It keeps saying there's already too much music on the iPad.
I went to Settings>General>Usage>Music, and deleted all the music. It said there was no music. But when I looked in the music app, all the music is still listed and iTunes keeps telling me there's still too much music already there. (I had the same issue with photos that wouldn't go away.)
I've updated both the computer and the iPad to the latest version.
Is there any way to REALLY delete the music so I can sync??

How you delete content from your iPod depends how you have it set to update:
If you are updating automatically (syncing) all songs and playlists then delete the files from the iTunes library. In the iTunes Library highlight the file and press the delete key on your keyboard. If you re updating the iPod from a selected playlist delete the song from the playlist and it will remain in the library. Next time you connect they will deleted automatically from your iPod.
If you are updating manually, connect your iPod and when it shows in the iTunes 7 source list click on the chevron (the little triangle) to the left of the iPod icon This will display the various icons for the iPod itself, Music, Movies, TV Shows and Playlists. Click on Music and you'll see the usual song list. Find the files on your iPod that you want to remove, highlight them and delete directly as above by pressing the delete key on your keyboard.
To select multiple items such as all the songs in an album, click on the first track in the list hold down the shift key and click on the last track to highlight the selection. Then press the delete key.
To summarise, you start by highlighting the song/video/selection in either the iTunes library or on the iPod song list as displayed in iTunes then press the delete key on your keyboard: Deleting songs or playlists from your iPod
