This morning I purchased Apple QuickTime Pro for ONE specific reason and this is so I can convert .mov video clips taken with Kodak cameras to Microsoft Windows .wav files. I have tried everything I can imagine so far with negative results.
I'm starting to think this may not be possible even though APPLE advertised this program as being capable of converting their .mov files to "LOTS" of the usual formats. IF Windows .wav is not a common format then what is?
If this is not possible with this program I am going to be one unhappy guy for having totally wasted $29.95 and will have a very bad opinion of Apple in my mind from now on.

Open the Movie Properties window and "Extract" the audio track.
This will open in a new window. Choose "Export" and then Sound to WAV. Name and save the file.

Combining 2+ WAV Files into a single WAV file

I am trying to combine at least 2 WAV files (my example uses 3) into a single file. I have tried several examples (http://www.jsresources.org/examples/AudioConcat.html and http://stackoverflow.com/questions/653861/join-two-wav-files-from-java) but both have the same problem: the output file is an exact copy of the last file to have been joined.
Here is the code for the simpler of the 2 examples which I have altered to meet my needs.

I don't see any problem with your actual code in terms of JavaSound, but...
The first run through, you'd be concating "file1.wav" and "file2.wav" to a file called "concat.wav". The second time through, you'd be concating "concat.wav" and "file3.wav" to a file called "concat.wav"...
On the second iteration, "concat.wav" will have a read-lock put on it until such time as the sequence input stream releases it... which will occur as soon as it's done reading it. At that point, the read lock is released and you can obtain a write-lock on it, but, you've already dumped all of the data from concat.wav into the bit bucket...so the only thing that gets to go in there now is "file3.wav".
So, don't try to read from and write to the same file at the same time...

Only I can say about mp3 through network - it's hardly possible. I recommend GSM for compression2transmit. It could be used via GSM content descriptor. I'm not sure, but I suppose MP3 is supported only for files, there's no MP3.RTP or such (if you want to transmit files, it should not cause any problems).
About JavaSound - it does not matter... You still need JMF to be installed on Client, and AppletCapture to be enabled. Futrher - would it be DirectSound, JavaSound, or anything else - just the deal of JMF.
I tried to use JavaSound capture with proceeding AudioInputStream to JMF, but failed to do this.
About your problem - best solution seems like that:
capture sound
put it into processor
set format to GSM
transmit
so then, server receives it and formats it as it likes.
If you want to transmit exactly files, you should use just some of pure java after capturing. java.net, or such thing.

Yes, many many little programs can convert to PDF after you have them in a file, or even from Safari you can "print as PDF" or "save as PDF"
however it just saves them as PDF, and you can use Acrobat READER for free,....
but Reader is just that, a reader, you cannot do pro editing, scale down the file size etc etc, signatures, portfolios etc.

Your iTunes importing preferences are currently set to AAC. If you change your Importing preferences to mp3, the option should then become "Create mp3 version". See the following document for some more details:

If it's a stmp file, I suppose it's a multitrack project. Go to the File menu and select Export>Export Mix. In the window appearing, you'll be able to select the bounce as AIFF, SDII, WAV or AAC but not mp3. If you want a mp3, use AIFF and use iTunes to convert it.

You can try using Adobe ExportPDF (https://www.acrobat.com/exportpdf/en/home.html) though it only produces Microsoft Word files. If WordPerfect can import .docx files, that will work. Note that the ability for ExportPDF to convert the file depends on the quality of the scan. If it's hard for ExportPDF to interpret the scan due to smudges, fuzziness, etc., it cannot do a very good job.

You cannot read Excel ".xlsx" form files using older versions of Microsoft Excel than the 2011 version of Office for Mac or at all in Numbers. You will either have to Upgrade your version of Excel on your Mac to "Office for Mac 2011", OR go back to your girlfriend's computer and resave the file using "Save As ..." and there select the ".xls" compatibility format instead of the default ".xlsx" version that the newer versions of Excel use.

The thread was started in early March and it's Mid-April, I know this very well. The OP of this thread posted a very common and simple question or maybe he/she would have resolved this. For an Adobe Acrobat user it's not at all difficult to combine multiple PDF files into one. But to combine PDF files full version of Adobe Acrobat is mainly required, otherwise PDF files can't be combined. For example, I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. These simple steps are mainly required to combine PDF files:
Open Adobe Acrobat.
Click on Combine and click on Merge files into a single PDF.
A window will be appearing, click on Add Files and select the PDF files you want to combine.
Arrange the selected files in any order with the help of Move Up and Move Down button.
Now click on Combine File and the selected PDF files will be combined within a few seconds.
A new PDF file will be created. Click on Save As and name this new PDF file. Then, click on Save.
A new PDF file will be created and all the selected PDF files are combined in it. The steps shown above might be different in other versions of Adobe Acrobat. Other than this, some third-party PDF merge software are also available. Most of them are available with a demo version for free evaluation. I've heard much about SysInfoTools PDF Merge software on other forums and directories and it's demo version is freely available. One may check its demo version if Adobe Acrobat (full version) is not available.
