Howto add adiuo track to video in Compressor

I exported video from Final Cut to Compressor for burning on DVD, after I deleted source files in FCP. Now I have 2 separate files with video and audio, how can I convert them to one file for iPod?
If I add both files to Compressor it creates two separate jobs, is there any option to add audio track to video?

If you've created a DVD (or VIDEO_TS) you can use an app like DVDxDV (www.dvdxdv.com) to create a QT movie from the source.
or
You can transcode the AC3 file to an AIFF 48k/16 pcm file in Compressor, and then transcode the MPEG-2 video stream to whatever I-Frame codec you want to work with (DV, ProRes, etc). Next, take those two files into FCP and sync, or use QT Pro's "Add to Movie" command and Save As a self-contained movie.

I'm cutting and pasting parts and each time I paste, a new track/layer is added.
The final video is going to be approximately 5 minutes long.
I am 17 seconds in and have 54 tracks already!

More video tracks. This is actually what you want.
Unless you're just making a still image (like Photoshop), multiple layers give you control to animate each individually. (If it's just a Photoshop comp you're after, you may want to create it in Photoshop)
If you want to move ALL OF THE VIDEO TRACKS TOGETHER, you can use
parenting or
precompose those individual layers into a single composition.

Chopping Up Video In Compressor

I work for a church which produces weekly services that need to be distributed in various formats. We use Final Cut Studio as well as Final Cut Server. With the copyright restrictions we have several different cuts of the service have to be produced.
For DVD and Live Streaming, we can use a cut of the entire service.
For Vimeo, we have to cut out all the live music.
For Youtube, we have to cut the live music and chop it into 10 minute segments.
I am trying to automate the process as much as possible, so we can make one cut, add makers and send it to Compressor from FCP. Compressor would then chop it up, compress it and send it the the correct location.
All the documentation I have found mentions nothing about being able to segment a video. Is there a way to do this? We have programmers, could Apple Script help? Additional software?
It would be an enormous time savings.

Automating the process may be a bit of a challenge, but you can use In and Out points to define a section of the source media you want to encode. You can import the same source multiple times and define different in and out points for each instance...that may satisfy your YouTube requirements.
You need to create a source though that doesn't have the live music because you can not enable and disable individual tracks in Compressor. It's either all on or all off.

I am simply wanting to “overlay” a new visual element without disturbing the underlying audio.
A classical way to do a Premiere Elements Overlay is to hold down the Ctrl key of the computer main keyboard and drag the new clip over the area of the one you want to replace on the Timeline. That should not do anything but replace one portion of the video on the Timeline. No change in duration video or audio track if you are dealing with video linked to audio.
If you hold down the Alt key of the computer main keyboard, I am envising a scenario where you want to add to (not replace) some Timeline content.
A just in case note, if you have video on Video 1 and 2 and the video in 2 does not have transparent areas in it, then all you will see is the Video 2 content. I believe that Hunt eluded to that concept as a possible technique for what you might be doing.

Get a datasource from the avi.
Get a datasource from the audio track.
Create a MergedDataSource with both.
Use a datasink to write to a file or play it with a player...

IMovie 2013: can't add cross dissolve to video

I have tried everything. I want to add a cross dissolve between to clips. The auto add is off. Help!

When you have two clips on the time line, one above the other, iMovie doesn't let you use transitions on the clip sitting above the timeline. This is more like how Final Cut Pro works with multi-tracks of video/audio on the timeline. The workaround is as stated to do split clip at time line and "Insert" the video at that location in the main video clip. Once everything's on 1 timeline, you can insert a transition as needed.

How to combine 2 tracks of video and one title scroll?

My end credits montage - under a 1 1/2 min scroll - is too complex for the Compressor : it stops at 99% done. If I combine these 3 tracks of video into 1 it will work, but I can't find the video mixdown function in the manual. Could you please help me? Thank you.

Basically, you have two options. The first option is the one I described above. That will give you ONE video file with one video track and two audio tracks. You can use that file in Compressor, DVD Studio Pro, import it back into FCP for more editing or use it in just about any other video application. In your case, it would seem that you'd want to import it into your FCP project, and use it to replace the three existing credit scroll tracks that you're having a problem with.
The second option is to nest. In FCP youu select (select = highlight) the clips that you want to include then go to Sequence->Nest Items. The clips you selected (again, selected clips will show up as highlighted) will become like one clip with one video track and up to two audio tracks. If you double-click a nest in the Timeline, a new Timeline window will open and show the contents of that nest, with each clip in its original track and position. You can edit the contents of the nest, then go back to the main Sequence and any changes you made will be there.
That said, it still doesn't address your original issue: "My end credits montage - under a 1 1/2 min scroll - is too complex for the Compressor : it stops at 99% done." In what way would a credit scroll be too complex? By the way, there is no such thing as a "video mixdown" command or function in FCP. But you can essentially do the same thing by using one of the two methods above.

How do I record multiple tracks while video remains visible?

I need to create an additional audio track for a video. This will be a recorded voice over that is translating the original into Spanish.
I would like to do all of this in SoundtrackPro after "Exporting for SoundtrackPro" from Final Cut Pro. However, I cannot figure out how to record an additional track (not just record on top of the audio file). I'm probably going to have to do "takes," so I need tracks!
Would it be better to use GarageBand and watch the video on Quicktime (or on another monitor)? Or STP on another monitor?
I'm pretty open to the easiest way to do this and still get good sound. Any hints, tips, and ideas are welcome!
(Just a note: Once I get my recorded audio, I would like to have the original audio just barely heard beneath the translation...like on the Olympic documentaries. I know how to do this, I just thought I'd throw it out there to keep in mind...)

You can add your video to STP.
Add additional tracks - Command-T.
Record on them.
Mix it.
Export your mix to QuickTime movie, or AIFF to import back into FCP.

I'm working on a podcast that mixes video and stills.
I'm good with creating the video/still on one track, but would like more than 2 tracks for the audio part.
Is it possible to add more tracks in iMovie 6 (or iMovie 08)?

No, you are not going to get all of the tracks to play in sync or add them to your initial iMovie project. The two projects are separate. I'm saying that you can have a separate editing window, sort of a workshop, where you can drag things to and from your main project and work on them separately. That may not be what you want, but it's the closest you'll get to being able to work with more audio/video tracks while doing a project in iM6. The other posters offered additional possibilities.
IMHO, unless you're doing something very sophisticated with audio, it seems to me that it would be a lot easier to edit within iMovie than Garageband. But, it's a matter of preference.

Does it allow you to drag a photo into that window? Try it with a picture out of iPhoto maybe and see if it will allow you to drop it into the placeholder area.

How do I add a tracking code to my page?

I want to add a tracking code to my page but iWeb doesn't seem to allow it. I copied the html code from a 3rd party site (Google Analytic) and tried pasting into the html widget in iWeb but when I check the tracking report it keeps telling me the code has not been installed. I have tried placing the text block at various places on the page and still no luck. The directions at Google Analytic tell me where I need to paste it into the html code but to do that I need an html editor or a text editor that can read html.
Am I doing something wrong with the html widget? If a tracking code can't be added with a widget is there a way I can edit the source code directly? A text editor, maybe? I tried Word but but it wouldn't open the page.

Is it possible to add songs and their metadata to my itunes library? When I try to add a track, information such as rating and play count are always lost.

When you add a track to the library it gets a new entry in library with no ratings or playcounts. Then as you change things this information is stored in iTunes library files not in the tag data of the file.

I'm pretty sure iMovie will do it, but it's 20MB and that's a lot of space for a lot of functionality that I don't want or need.

I am working on u201CDual Tracking IDu201D issue for EM Project.
Issue: Current design, when Users change Tracking ID (Inbound Delivery Bill of Lading #), In Event Management, we have both Old and New Tracking ID (YTRACK_NO).
Solution: Users / Business Requested to Update Existing Tracking ID (YTRACK_NO) in EM. Anytime in EM, we will have only NEW value of YTRACK_NO.
For the same, I modified FM in ECC and Config (Rules) in EM.
Added Tracking References in Event Message FM whenever there is change in Tracking No.
Replace Existing Tracking ID YTRACK_NO with new Value
      ls_trackreferences-evtcnt   = lv_evtcnt.
      ls_trackreferences-refcod   = 'YTRACK_NO'.
      ls_trackreferences-refid    = <ls_xlikp>-bolnr.
      ls_trackreferences-refusage = 'T'.
      ls_trackreferences-action   = 'A'.
      APPEND ls_trackreferences TO lt_trackreferences.
Configuration / Rules in EM:
For YIDN_CHANGED_TRAC Activity:

Once the FM and Config is completed,
When I change Existing Inbound Delivery BOL #, I see TRACKING ID (YTRACK_NO) is deleted from Tracking ID Tab for Inbound Delivery EH but new Tracking ID (YTRACK_NO) is not added either.
I checked SLG1 ( logs) and I see Activity is Triggered and RC = 0. Donu2019t see any errors either.
I see entry in /saptrx/evm_ref ( New Tracking ID) table.
Any thoughts?

The recommended procedure is to create the presentation on the DMM (upload the video to the DMM) then create a deployment package using the presentation created on the DMM. Once you deploy it to the DMP, the DMM will FTP the video along with presentation files to the DMP which will contain the links to play the video that will be stored locally on the DMP.
