Howto block mobile data from 3720?

I'm using 3720 as emergency/backup phone and my subscription does not include mobile data, which is then very expensive.
Is there any way to block gprs data usage from the phone?

General packet radio service (GPRS) is a network service that allows mobile phones to send and receive data over an internet protocol (IP)-based network.
To define how to use the service, select Menu > Settings > Connectivity >Packet data > Packet data conn. > Select When needed.

Hi and welcome to the forums!
You can block in one of two ways:
1) You call block select types of text traffic. Go to OPTIONS/SECURITY/FIREWALL.
You can select the type of message traffic to block. This will however block all incoming messages for that
category. Example if you block SMS traffic, SMS messages from everybody will be blocked
2) You can call the carrier and have the number blocked as spam. Depending on the amount of messages,
you may be able to get the carrier to remove the texts from your bill.
2a) If you use AT&T as a carrier you can block and control messages from the link below. I do not know
if other carriers offer this service.

Time Restrictions not blocking Mobile Data?

According to the familybase FAQ:
You can set up time restrictions to:
Stop calls. Your child will only be able to communicate with designated Trusted Contacts or 911.
Stop messages from being sent or received. This includes messaging activities that are sent or received over the Verizon network as well as third-party apps, such as iMessage®, Facebook®, MySpace® and Twitter®. Your child will only be able to send or receive text and multimedia messages to and from designated Trusted Contacts. Any messages not controlled by FamilyBase will be allowed during time restrictions.
Restrict data access. This includes the ability to download apps and content, and access the Internet. All data services will be unavailable, except for My Verizon Mobile, Data Usage Meter, Verizon Cloud and multimedia messages to and from Trusted Contacts.
However this doesn't seem to be working. I still see data being used after the cutoff time. This is an iPhone 6. And no, there is no WiFi. I am talking about Mobile Data.
By the way, I can't see anywhere in the Time Restriction settings where I can actually control what is disabled during the restricted times.

Just to follow up on this, I have mostly resolved my own issue. Primarily it was my own fault.
I had mistakenly assumed that if I chose a time range, say, 9AM to 5PM, that this was the time range when data usage was *permitted*. But it's not. It's the time period where data is blocked. So I had set up my time restrictions completely upside down. I did not notice this because at that same time, wifi was available.
Secondly, my initial specifying of the time zone didn't stick, so the restrictions ended up kicking in 3 hours earlier than I expected.

Now when other team see cost centers it display all data booked there but my client want to restrict some HR data from them
In my project there are 151 roles that can display cost center dat including HR data,
Now my requirment is how can I restrict only HR data belongs to a cost center
I mean to say they should be able to see all cost center data exept a cost center containing HR data.
Please advise how to get solution

Block Shipping dates from calendar to assist Inventory count

Hi Experts,
This is in regard with blocking 3 days for shipping. Client wants to do an inventory count (for a particular plant) and so he wants that no shipment should happen on those 3 days from the plant (in SAP also). So he wants to block those 3 days for shipping.
However, orders can be placed on these days.
Can you please guide me how to proceed on this? Is this related to any change in shipping calendar or factory calendar or any other setting?

Yes we use GATP, and yes we want to prevent committed date/ planned PGI date fall between these 3 days.
I went to customizing in APO MAster data > Maintain Planning Calendar (Time Stream).
It is maintained - working time calendar (with gaps) & interval as weeks (Mon-Fri each week).
Could you please guide me which setting should I do do block these 3 days here? Shall I remove these days from Buckets or how?

WSA block Mobile applications from accessing internet

I have s680 to control internet access. I set my ASA to forward any ip traffic to the WSA ( WCCP ,Service Identifier: 90 ), All the computers can access the internet perfectly, but on Mobiles some applications can't access (facebook and youtube for example)

Nokia N8 Symbian Belle - Mobile Data Auto Connecti...

I have recently updated my n8 to symbian belle and I am having trouble in disabling the mobile data. For some reason the 3G connection icon keeps on beeping in the menu bar. It keeps on trying to connect to packet data even though i have disabled the mobile data from the menu bar. I also disable it from the connection and admin settings but its still trying to connect to the 3G network all the time. It is big issue for me because the battery is only lasting about 12hours where as before it lasted almost 2 days. Also I do not have any access points for the 3G network, I only got a wifi access point on it.

i had one program which kept running on the background, i removed it now but it still trying to connect somehow. I went through all my applications also. There wasnt any given net settings. Could it be because my mobile was locked to a 3 network before and the OS version is based on the 3 network? It comes with useless apps which are net based but do not work for me because you need to have a 3 network and they cant be removed.

Limiting, not blocking, Cellular Data Roaming

I'm trying to find out a way that allows us to supply our staff with iPhones, but limit liability with regards to overseas data roaming. The problem is probably quite common-- our staff travel a fair bit, so we have a cellular data plan that gives them a fixed cap of free of world-wide data roaming. Our Telco isn't great at blocking the data from overrunning, as they say their info only gets updated daily, so overages could happen for an entire day before it was blocked.
We educate the users about how to avoid going over that limit, and largely that's successful-- but occasionally, as I'm sure everyone has experienced at one point or another, someone forgets to flip the switch, or installs a new app without thinking, and then quickly they can run up a tremendous data bill.
Is there a way in Apple Configurator, or on the device itself, where I could set up a rule limiting roaming data? Ideally I just want to tell the Configurator "Please limit these users to 500mb roaming data per month, then turn off and lock roaming data".

Xperia Z2 Disable Mobile Data

Does anyone know if it's possible to prevent mobile data from auto enabling? If I manually turn this off and then wake the phone it automatically turns this feature back on.
My previous phone was an HTC One X and on that phone you can set a preferred network so it will auto use WiFi if you set it for this. It will only use the service providors mobile network if WiFi is not available.

That doesn't sound right, if your wifi its on, then your mobile should keep your data off.

iPhones require a SIM for activation.
Put the device in DFU mode (google it) and restore via iTunes.

Uploading data from a windows mobile device to a server using GPRS

I want to upload data from a java application in pda (a Windows Mobile 6.1 device) to a server using a GPRS connection.My application uses a IBM weme VM.
I want to know whether I can do this in Java itself,because otherwise I would have to resort to some C++ methods(that uses the connection manager api) and call that using jni. But if there is some java method for this,it would have been helpful and straightforward..
Can I do this using socket connection in java? if so, Would somebody provide a code snippet ?Which port to connect to in that case?

When I dock my Windows Mobile device in a Windows 7 PC, the Windows Mobile Device Center opens and I can browse the device and copy files between it and the PC. However, I'm looking some kind of way to automate this process. All I'm really interested in
is a single file named TEXT.TXT which is stored in the My Documents folder. Basically, I'm looking for a script that will detect the Windows device (it's USB-attached) when docked, find the file TEXT.TXT in the My Documents folder and then copy this file to
the /Temp folder on the desktop.
I've tried using the synchronization feature of WMDC but it copies the file to a documents folder set up for the specific device. Instead, I'm looking to find and copy the file to C:\TEMP regardless of the device.

Just configure the device to sync the folders you want to sync. Start by reading the help very carefully.

You can also sync via OneDrive over a cellular or wireless connection.

How to populate data from bol to assignment block.

I saw on sdn discussion similar questions, but have not found the suitable answer.
I need to add fields for BP using EEWB and to work with this field in WEB UI. For achievement of it I have executed following steps:
1. Using EEWB has added new z u2013 fields to BP. This fields have appeared in tcode bp on a tab "customer data". Besides I have seen this field in created z u2013 BOL.
2. Using tcode BSP_WD_CMPWB has created z bsp component.
3. In z bsp component has created view and custom controller which correspond earlier created z - BOL. Also has created following binding:
   owner->do_context_node_binding(
            iv_controller_type = cl_bsp_wd_controller=>CO_TYPE_CUSTOM
            iv_name = 'ZBP_S_INF/NumBpOutSYS'
            iv_target_node_name = 'ZZ9BHEEW'
            iv_node_2_bind      = ZZ9BHEEW ).
4. Has redefined method DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT and would make modify the *.htm file for the purpose on toolbar there were buttons of editing of the data.
5. Has adding z - assignment block to bp_head component.
At start WEB UI the assignment block it is visible in list displayed blocks of account data. In this block there are buttons on toolbar. But in this block the data is not displayed. Though really data there is, as they are displayed in tcode bp.
Please inform as to populate the data from bol to z u2013 component. I assume that it is necessary for me to create get_ methods. But methods get_ and set_ do not cause query.
Iu2019m work in CRM 7.0.

How to recover data from a hard drive with bad blocks?

An external hard drive, 4TB Iomega...connected via eSATA cable...had a power outage and the drive won't be read by OSX now. (Yes, it was on a surge protector and no I did not have a backup. I was actually preparing for the process of creating a backup when the power went out!) Anyway, I have tried using Data Rescue 3 and DiskDrill to try and recover data from the drive. I can recover the first 1/3 of the drive, but it ejects when either app tries to access the bad block. Can anyone tell me how/what software to use to recover the data? I know there are programs that will avoid the bad block but I've only found them for Windows. Are there any that will do such a thing in Lion? Any help will be appreciated...and no, I can not afford a data recovery service. Trying to do this on my own.

Basics of File Recovery
If you stop using the drive it's possible to recover deleted files that have not been overwritten by using recovery software such as Data Rescue II, File Salvage or TechTool Pro. Each of the preceding come on bootable CDs to enable usage without risk of writing more data to the hard drive. Two free alternatives are Disk Drill and TestDisk. Look for them and demos at MacUpdate or CNET Downloads.
The longer the hard drive remains in use and data are written to it, the greater the risk your deleted files will be overwritten.

Pl/sql block reading reading table data from single point in time

I am trying to figure out whether several cursors within a PL/SQL block are executed from within a Single Point In Time, and thus do not see any updates to tables made by other processes or procedures running at the same time.
The reason I am asking is since I have a block of code making some data extraction, with some initial Sanity Checks before the code executes. However, if some other procedure would be modifying the data in between, then the Sanity Check is invalid. So I am basically trying to figure out if there is some read consistency within a PL/SQL, preventing updates from other processes to be seen.
Anyone having an idea?.
