Howto enable spdif output through the combo ja

I have an Audigy model #sb0090
I am running Vista Home Premium
I am connecting this computer to my Dolby 5. receiver.
Creative Vista drivers are installed and reporting no errors.
On the back of the Audigy card there is a digital output jack labeled: "digital out or 3"
I purchased the Digital IO Module from:
http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=&subcategory=6&product=780
When I plug it in, I don't get audio from either the coax or the optical outputs. I have enabled spdif output in the OS. I also have a daughter board model# ct4660 (from an older sound blaster li've) that I can connect to the audigy via a ribbon cable. The ct4660 also has a coax output. When I use this, the Dolby Digital output is sent to the receiver and everything works. The problem is, I don't have room in the case for the ct4660 which takes up an extra pci slot. How do I tell the card to send digital out to the "digital out or 3" output on the Audigy?
Thanks for the help...

I went out and purchased a new Audigy SE. Using the IO module, I now am able to get Dolby Digital sound from digital sources such as DVDs and ATSC television. I do not get any other sound such as Windows sounds and music. In the Audigy speaker properties on Vista, the "Digital Output Only" checkbox is not checked. How do I get all sound to output via the spdif output?

  • How do I get to the screen on my Audigy 2ZS where I can enable 'SPDIF Pass-through'

I see the screen on your support page but I cannot get to this screen with my software. Do I need to download a driver or application to get this option. I have a set of Logitech Z-5500 digital speakers on my Dell XPS 600 computer. I am using the digital coax cable but I need to enable SpDIF passthrough to let the speakes decode the digital output from my sound card in order to get surroun sound from the 5. speakers.

Click on Media Source "Go", then click the "Product Settings" tab, then choose "Device Controls" and click on the "Decoder" tab.

  • How do I enable SPDIF pass through on Audigy 2 ZS Notebo

I'm trying to pass Dolby Digital from a DVD played through Cyberlink Power DVD to my home receiver. Power DVD is set to output SPDIF. It seems that the Audigy 2 ZS is doing the decoding, then passing it to my receiver as 2 channel PCM. I can't find anywhere in the documentation where I can pass through the bitstream. It's just a regular movie with a standard AC3 soundtrack. Thanks for any help.

  • Why is my macbook playing the audio output through the microphone?

I have an older Macbook Pro. When I call someone on Skype, Google Hangouts, etc., they are able to hear all the audio that my computer is playing through the headphones. E.g. if I watch a video while Skyping someone, they can hear all the audio from that video through their own headphones. This applies to any sounds my computer makes (including the volume change sound, other systems sounds, etc.).
I originally thought it might be some sort of line interference from poor quality headphones, but tests with different headphones rule that out. Please, any thoughts on what might be causing this?

What Mac do you use? What version of OS X is it running? What versions of iMovie and iDVD do you use?

  • Hearing the effects on output through the amp

I'm using a new interfact (m-audio fast track ultra) and have had no issues with set up. I've got my guitar going through input 1 and out to my amp - no problem. But - I don't hear any the pedal effects on output. I hear them on the track recording - but, is it not possible to hear the effects on output? My amp is connected to the m-audio output so, my assumption - which may be incorrect - is that garageband is feeding the m-audio via the USB 2 connection, thus, any applied effects would be audible on output.
Perhaps I'm all wrong - though I'm hopeful that I just have a configuration issue.
Many thanks if anyone has any info that will help.

  • Cannot enable TCP/IP through the Configuration Manager

    Hi,
I am using SQL Server 2008 sp1 Developer Edition.  The database engine service is running and the SQL browser service is running. It is set to allow remote connections.
When I open SQL Server Configuration Manager and expand the SQL Server Network Configuration mode and select Protocols for <server name>, it shows Shared Memory as Enabled and all others as Disabled.
If I right click on TCP/IP and select Enable, I get a warning stating that the changes will be saved but will not take effect until after I restart the service. When I click OK on the warning popup to close it, it still shows TCP/IP as Disabled.
After I restart the service I return to the Protocols screen and check the value of TCP/IP. It is still Disabled. I am still unable to connect to it remotely.
Configuration Manager is not allowing me to enable TCP/IP. I need to do this. I looked for an alternate way to enable TCP/IP but have not been able to find one that works.
    Any thoughts?

    Hi,
It seems, you do not have enough permission for modifying values.
    a. Try to change using sysadmin account.
    b. Open configuration manager with "Run as Administrator" method and try to modify the changes.
If you will not able to modify using sysadmin, do below steps. Please note that changing registry will cause lot of issues.
    1. append existing value with "tcp" (ie eg  "tcp np")
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\InstanceName\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib
    \ProtocolList
    2. Create a new key "TCP" in below path
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL10.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib\
    3. Create a string value "TcpPort" in "TCP" and desired value.
Please compare your other server for registry reference.

  • Question about output through the DVI port

The problem: I am using a DVI to HDMI cable to send video to an AV receiver. The AV receiver strictly only accepts a DVI-D (Digital) signal. Upon turning it all on, the MacBook Pro screen reloads and appears to be sending video out, based on the AV receiver's model name appearing in the Display's menu bar. The receiver however reads "No Signal". Most likely this is because the MBP's dual-signal port is giving it problems (it can send both analog and digital).
Is it possible to elect to send a digital-only signal? The cable itself does not include the extra pins for analog, so I'm not sure why it would think it is.
Keep in mind I'm not entirely sure this is the problem, I just have confidence in this theory.

  • TS4225 I have just shifted to iOS 7 but i believe i lost the audio output through the earphone terminal. How do I make it work again?

How do I make it work again? I tried with the apple earphones provided and the stereo jack in my car, both didn't seem to work. The thing is, if functioning normally, after I insert the earphone jack in the terminal, the sound from the speaker should disappear and be rerouted to the earphones, this didn't happen.
    Shall I reset my iphone?

  • Forcing 44.1kHz PCM output through SPDIF on XtremeGamer

7Forcing 44.kHz PCM output through SPDIF on XtremeGamerTHi,
My system should be in my sig. ?My PC is only for gaming.
I have a QED Digit Opto DAC that only accepts 44.kHz PCM input over TOSlink. ?However, I can only choose 48kHz or 96kHz in Game Mode from the Control Panel. ?Is there any way to force a 44.kHz output for this card in Game Mode?
If not, given that all I need the card for is the EAX capabilities, which card would I have to buy to gain 44.kHz PCM SPDIF outputCost is most certainly a consideration?this refurbed XtremeGamer only set me back ?28 a month ago.
EDIT: I just updated to Creative Console Launcher 2.6.0.0 from the Control Panel software supplied on the CD, and have managed to get 44.kHz output working successfully in Audio Creation Mode?however, though EAX is enabled in the Console Launcher, games (such as Doom 3) refuse to recognise EAX as being available. ?So, I'm no further forward, except now I now my card is capable of 44.kHz PCM over SPDIF?I just have to force it to output it in Game Mode.
    Many thanks,
    S.

Thanks for the reply, I was getting very frustrated as you can tell.
But I have fixed the issue!! And it is really strange.
The exact option is on AC3 Filter on the main tab. It is called SPDIF (disabled). Checking the box seems to let dolby work. I have confirmed the correct sound output through the correct speakers through a AC-3 test file. AVIs are now outputting a dolby digital sound track through Media player classic.
I do apologise as I've used AC3 Filter many times and assumed it was a 64-bit/X-Fi issue, but really just a bug with AC3 Filter.
Edit: It now seems to work with SPDIF (disabled) ticked or not..... strange.

  • Audigy 2 ZS spdif output prob

I've recently installed an Audigy 2 ZS into my new PC. I can get sound out through headphones - from CD and DVD. I've connected the spdif out jack to my surround sound decoder - this all worked fine on my old PC with a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card. Now on the new PC with the Audigy, I can't get any sound out of the spdif connection. I've set PowerDVD to spdif output and the card setting to spdif passthru as per the instruction in this forum but still nothing.
What can I expect to get out of the spdif connection ? From what I've read, it's clear that I should be able to get Dolby Digital and that I can't get sound from games. What about CDs and mp3s etc . ?
Thanks in advance for help / info / suggestion ...

    More details :
"Enable digital CD audio for this CD-ROM device" is checked</LI>
"Use SPDIF" is selected in PowerDVD</LI>
"SPDIF Passthru" is selected in Creative Audio Console</LI>
From what I've read on this forum, that ought to do the trick. I've got a stereo minijack to left-right RCA and have tried both sides. No signal that my pre-amp can recognise.
    Help !?

  • Spdif output problems

I have a 651 unit with on board ac97 audio which is connected to an external amp thro an spdif. When I play dvds on WinDVD7 in XP I get full DTS/DD sound. If I play dvds through MCE 2005 I get Dolby Virtual. I've installed the latest graphics and Realtek drivers and all the audio settings are set for spdif output. The spdif is outputing something because I do get sound. I've tried everything from previous threads but nothing seems to work. Please help.

Hi - I,ve set windvd7 to spdif output and in control panel - audio devices under the spdif tab I've set to digital output only. In Media Centre in the settings scetion under dvd and audio I've selected spdif but if I save and exit when I look in that section again it has reverted to 2 channel sterio. I know the system works because when I play dvds using windvd7 from the xp desktop I get the full dts/dd sound. I've loaded the latest fx5200 drivers graphics drivers, ac97 drivers etc. I dont think its a driver problem cos it works in xp. It must be a media centre problem - but I cant think what else I can do.
I'll try the analogue outputs - I'll lash something together tonight when I can get some cables.
    Thanks

  • My ipod video wont play sound through the headphone jack or the bottom connector

Hello everyone. I have an iPod Video 60GB (supports video output through the headphone jack). Which I believe was the last one before the iPod "classic".
Anyways awhile back it stopped outputting sound through the headphone jack, I assumed I had damaged the jack itself as commonly happens but it stopped outputting sound through the dock connector to my ipod speaker dock and my cars ipod connector. The clicker wont make any noise either.
When I tried to search for an answer to this problem years ago I couldnt find anything and knowing it would be out of warrenty I put it aside and forgot about it. Having searched again recently it seems as if this could be the audio processor or some component on the board coming loose? Has anyone outlined this problem with pictures and steps to repair it?
I *may* take it in and pay the $30 but I would much prefer to fix it myself. Thank you for any help with this.

Update: The model # is MA147LL. Not sure why my edit didnt take effect.

  • Sound Output Through miniHDMI port

I am trying to link my 13 inch MacBook Pro to my tv so I can watch videos I have on my computer on my TV. I have the mini HDMI cable converter hooked up. I am getting video from the computer to the TV but no sound. I tried a headphone to RCA converter to get sound to the TV and this works if I have the TV source set to AV. However this only sends sound to the TV and not video. And the way the TV source works I cannot select HDMI video input and av sound input. Is there a way I can force sound output through the miniHDMI cable so I can get sound and video through one cable? I would greatly appreciate any information and help anyone can provide.

  • Calling a WSSE Enabled Web Service Through a Java Proxy Class

I am trying to create a client that can access a WSSE enabled web service through
the generated java proxy. For now all I am asking for in the .wsse file is the

    describes:
    UserInfo ui = new UserInfo("myuser", "mypassword");

    Hi John,
In your standalone client, use the following two properties to send a
user name and password to the service so that the client can
    authenticate itself: javax.xml.rpc.security.auth.username
    javax.xml.rpc.security.auth.password
    See the docs [1]
    Hope this helps,

  • Final cut output through USB to projector

Does anyone know how or if possible to output through the G5 USB to my projector? I can do video out but i want two monitors and a projector. i appreciate any suggestions, thanks

Sorry, cannot output a signal thru USB.
Is that the only connection the projector takes? There is this option:
    #8 External Monitor Viewing.
    Shane's Stock Answer #8:
A simple path is mac > firewire > camera or deck > rca cables > tv
Then start up your camera and tv, then open fcp.
Then go View > External video > all frames
Video playback should be Apple firewire NTSC (If you are using an NTSC set)
Audio playback should be Audio follows Video
Techinially, this should send synched video to your TV
If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
    1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
    2) In the Final Cut Pro menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
    3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
    4) Click in the % box above the image and select FIT TO WINDOW.
    5) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
    6) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section
