"HowTO" guides

Hi,
When people ask for some tutorials about anything ppl reply with help.sap links or some how-to guides. Can anyone please let me know where can we find all the "HowTO" guides (pdfs). Sorry if the question sound silly but I really need to know that.
Cheers

Hi,

    I have configured the connector on the WAS as needed.
    The problem is that when I run the application I receive an Unauthorized error on the connector URL.
    If I open this URL on a browser I receive a pop-up for UID and PWD and when I enter the same UID and PWD I used to configure the connector I am able to login and see the WSDL.
    Any ideas?

  • Fibre Channel Howto Guide?

    Hi, I am new to Fibre Channel and I am having problems. I cannot get my v210's to see the fc 3510 array. The disks on the array show up on the switch fabric as Sun and wwpn numbers. The v210 is connected to the FC Switch (cisco 5428) but when I do a luxadm probe no array is seen. Similarly format shows only the local disk on the system.
    I can see the qlogic HBA card and its associated driver on the v210 and I am at a loss what to do next. I need to know how to configure the HBA and Im guessing I have to add it to the Zone. So I wondered if some one could explain zones or tell me where I can find documentation to help me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

    Solaris 8 but we want to upgrade to Solaris 9.
    I dont have FC documentation available - Do you know where I can find some? thats why I registered here, otherwise I will have to buy a book or Go on an expensive course. Or there may be somewhere handy online, for free, that tells me what I need to know.? Howto guide?
    Are you referring to documentation that may have come with the hba or something on the sun site.
    Thanks for responding.

  • New Howto guide available: HOW to INSTALL and CONFIGURE A TWO-NODE CLUSTER

    Hi,
    I am not sure that this has been posted or not. But for all of us who are too lazy (like myself) to read the full set of documentation, or who have not enough time, please have a look at this short document with screen shots that explains how to setup a simple two-node cluster.
    http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/howtoguides/twonodecluster.jsp
    I still recommend to browse through the "Sun Cluster Concepts Guide for Solaris OS" http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/819-0421
    Have fun
    Hartmut

    I am afraid there is no such document. But I can try to give you some hints.
    N+1 can be seen as two things:
    - the phsical setup of the cluster and
    - the logical configuration of services
    A physical N+1 setup would mean, that you have one server that is connected to all shared storage, but the other N nodes are only connected to the shared storage they need.
    This configuration would also need the logical N+1 setup, namely that all HA services could only run on 2 nodes, their primary node and as a backup this one dedicated node that is connected to all shared storage.
    If you do not have the physical N+1 setup, you could easily have a logical N+1 setup, by having a N*N topology, j.e. all nodes connected to all storage, but logically each service again would have only 2 nodes on its nodelist.
    It seems that the second option is the one that is used more often, as ift offers you the ability to reconfigure things in case of failures.
    With regards to asymmetric and symmetric I am not quite sure what you mean: And I do not think that these terms are used in the SC docs.
    What I can think of is, that asymmetric means that you have one node being active with 1 or more HA services and have one inactive secondary node as a backup.

  • Problems with HowTo "Creation of BI Master Data in Integrated Planning...)

    Hi,
    one of our customers need a planning application in which he can create master data for different attributes, insert some key figures for this attributes and changes already planned key figured.
    For the last two point I've already found a working solution, the first point (creating of masterdata in web template) is still a problem. After a little search, I found a howto-guide "Creation of BI Master Data in Integrated Planning (IP) through Web Layouts", in which the necessary steps are described, how to do this (please see following link: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/607193d5-cdd5-2b10-c699-8ff04c3124f6)
    Does anyone of you know this guide and was able to build a working solution?
    I have different questions, maybe you could help me:
    - what kind of variable is he using?
    - do I need a DataProvider in Web Template?
    - how do I get the connection to the used variable in the button group?
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards
    Tim

    Hi Timo,
    you require two howtos to implement the solution.
    First, please take a look at the first document:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10d2b273-0e12-2c10-fab3-a34bde559f92?QuickLink=index&…
    In chapter 3 you see the prerequisites (note 1101726 and notes 1384495, 1387004 and 136772). By this, you change the system behaviour, not to check if the new inserted master data is valid (it can't be valid, because the entries are new!)
    And after this please implement the solution from the how to.
    Furthermore you can take a look at this how to, which might help you too:
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/607193d5-cdd5-2b10-c699-8ff04c3124f6?QuickLink=index&…
    Even if my first post is a bit old, my customer still uses this solution, at the moment we are on 7.3 sp06, so it is working in newer releases too.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards
    Tim

  • Guide for moving GW2012 from OES2 (32) to OES11 (64) on NSS?

    Hi there,
    I have to move a Groupwise 2012 system (no big deal - 30 users, 1poa, 1gwia) from OES2 (32bit) - to OES11 (64bit). File system is NSS on both.
    I already set up the OES11 system but have not installed any groupwise thing.
    Is there a general setup/Howto guide anywhere? I only find howtos for moving from Netware/Windows to OES11 but not from OES2.
    Thanks for any hints.
    OH BTW: It's no migration, the new OES11 system should run parallel to the old OES2 system. At least for a while.... So new hostname, new ip, etc.... Just have to move Groupwise from one to the other...

    Hi,
    thx for your replys.
    Yes, this is the upgrade guide to GW2012, but I am already on GW2012.
    I just want to move an existing GW2012 System from OES2SP3-32bit to OES11SP1-64bit (Filesystem: NSS on both). I cannot do a server migration, cause the old server has to run for a while parallel to the new one - just without the groupwise system...
    I think gwoelfels post comes most close to my problem....

  • HowTo create a direct link to an approval

    Hi all,
    did someone of you tried to create a direct link to an approval?
    The link looks like this: "u2026/ProcessRequest?RequestID=12345&TaskID=111&EntryID=01234"
    So my question:
    Is it possible to use SQL statements in these scripts to read out the needed data from "MXP_PROVISION"?
    I have tried out this:
    Configuration in "EMailNotifiaction_Approval" Pass:
    MSKEY     %MSKEY%
    MX_APPROVERS    %MX_APPROVERS%
    MX_ENTRY_REFERENCE     %MX_ENTRY_REFERENCE%
    Coding in the script of "Next data entry" (just the relevant part)
    var entryReference = Par.get ("MX_ENTRY_REFERENCE");
    var sql = "SELECT MSKEY FROM MXP_PROVISION WHERE AUDITREF = " + entryReference;
    var sqlresult = "";
    sqlresult = uSelect (sql);
    I don´t get a Value into "sqlresult". I think one problem is that he doesn´t read the value of entryReference
    Br,
    Philip

    Thank you Thomas,
    the privilege was the problem.
    Maybe someone of you had the same problem.
    I have solved it like this now: (All with * marked lines can be found in the HowTo guide)
    *var pendingValue = Par.get("MSKEY");
    *var approverList = Par.get("MX_APPROVERS");
    *var entryReference = Par.get("MX_ENTRY_REFERENCE");
    *// uErrMsg(logLevel,"Approver List: " + approverList);
    *var approvers = new java.util.Vector();
    *approvers = uSplitString (approverList, "|");
    *var i = 0;
    *var result;
    *var emailAddress = "";
    *var idStore = uGetIDStore();
    *var emailAttribute = "%$MAILATTRIBUTE%";
    var sql = "SELECT APPROVALTASKID, AUDITREF, PARENTMSKEY FROM MXWV_PENDING_APPROVALS WHERE MSKEY = " + pendingValue;
    var sqlresult = "" ;
    sqlresult = uSelect(sql);
    var part = new java.util.Vector();
    part = uSplitString (sqlresult, "|");
    actionid = part.get(0);
    auditref = part.get(1);
    usermskey = part.get(2);
    // This line was made to get the unique name of the requesting person
    var sqlname = "SELECT AVALUE FROM MXIV_SENTRIES WHERE (ATTR_ID = 2 AND MSKEY = " + usermskey + ")";
    var name = "";
    name = uSelect(sqlname);
    var url = "http://10.44.110.68:50000/webdynpro/dispatcher/sap.com/tcidmwd~workflow/ProcessRequest?RequestID=" + auditref + "&TaskID=" + actionid + "&EntryID=" + pendingValue;
    I think there are much more solution. (Iam new at IdM )

  • MSI p965 NEO-F SpeedFan setup guide !!!

    IF you have MSI p965 Platinum board, speedfan 4.32 Beta 8 does not support it, please wait for release of speedFan beta 12, which should support platinum board. (thx: Olabe)
    25.1.2007: Added screen shots from my settings. (10th post on the thread).
    Okay. Seems many people have problems setting up speedFan with p965 neo. I agree the setup is bit cryptic, but I got it working with the help & HOWTO guide included with speedfan. If this didn't help you, try to follow these instructions.
    My setup. (tested to work with bios 1.6B9 , 1.6B13 (D) 1.6B15 (F) ) With P965 NEO-f
    I am using SpeedFan 4.32 Beta 8. (to download beta, you need to register to speedfan site b4 you can download it, so of you go to http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php )
    Oh btw if you want pictures, I'm feeling lazy, refer to speedFan manual it has nice pictures and quite good howto too.
    When you start speedfan you will see some temperatures and maybe one fanspeed that will probably say 0 RPM. Don't care about the speed reading yet.
    What we are interested are core1 and core2 temp.
    Press configure button and go to temperatures tab.
    ** TEMPERATURES
    There are temperatures core1 and core2. Open first core1.
    There you should see like speed1, speed2, speed3. For my rig, speed2 was actually CPUfan, so with 965neo it should be that, for platinum ppl you just have to figure it out by testing.
    Open CORE1 and untag all other speeds except speed2. This means that CORE1 temperature is related to SPEED2 of some fan (cpufan).
    Now Do the same to CORE2, as it is cooled by same fan.
    Now before you exit temperatures, choose core2, set desired and warning temp. SpeedFan tries to keep "desired temp". Mine is 53C, meaning if core1 or core2 goes above, fanspeed is increased, if both are below, fan will be slowed.
    !!! REMEMBER to set the FAN to cool both cores, so that if 1 threaded program is causing lot of CPU load your cooler reacts to it !!!
    ** FANS
    Go to FANs tab. Unselect all but SPEED2 (you can also rename it). This means only speed is shown for this fan. (I only use 1 fan that gives readings).
    ** SPEEDS
    Go to SPEEDS tab. And select SPEED2. Here you can set maximum and minimum power of your fans. Mine are 0% and 100%. With my mobo and intel stock cooler 0% is about 1050RPM. Tho you should check that the fan does not stop with this setting but not yet.
    ** ADVANCED
    Go to Advanced tab. From selection menu select "WINBOND blahblah".
    Now you must edit 2 settings.
    FAN2 divisor, set this to 8. (now you should be able to see fanspeed, but dont exit the menu yet).
    PWM2 mode is something like "thermal cruise" meaning its mobo controlled, change setting to "manual PWM control" and check box "remember it" from very down of the settings window.
    Now press OK.
    Now from speedFan main menu, you select (below settings button) automatic fanspeed.
    So now speedFan should be controlling your fanSpeed and you should see also your fan rpm (thx to blueKnight giving hint about the fan divider).
    If you cant see your fanSpeed I dunno, but even if you dont see it, if you have done the setup on correct fan, speedFan should now control the cpu fan power % depending on Core temps.
    Now get pifast/superpi/prime95/stresstest (i prefer stresstest).
    First run something only on one core, see if speedfan reacts it, or if you even hit your "desired temperature". Fanspeed should start going up.
    If this does not work, try changing on other core, or run 2 threaded test. (or for pifast, make a bat file that runs it continously) and run 2 pifast. Preferably before this open to CMD's and setup from task managers processor affinities so that cmd1 runs on core0, cmd2 runs on core1.
    **** pifast_continous.bat ****
    :alku
    call pifast.bat
    goto alku
    /*** pifast_continous.bat ***\
    You need to use "call" command so that it runs continously after quitting pifast.
    Pifast.bat is a batch execution file that runs the pifast with pre defined settings so that it wont ask any questions after startup.
    **** pifast.bat ****
    pifast33.exe < pi_inp.txt
    /*** pifast.bat ***\
    pi_inp.txt is an input parameters file and looks like this
    **** pi_inp.txt ****

    If you want to be bit more hifi about your cpu.
    Google for rightmark cpu clock utility and install it. Using performance on demand settings you can setup your CPU to change speeds and voltages depending on cpu utilization (i know the cpu does this automatically).
    But also you can use thermal throttling also as "idle throttling". So I enabled throttling at idle, Im using throttle levels 12.5%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. This number means that how many of CPU cycles are used for computation and how much is used for idling with trhottle. So PLS remember to choose 100% if you want to use all the CPU power u got.
    I wont make guide about rightmark CPU clock utility, it has fine manual itself. And easy GUI. Some of the terms that there is (and TM1 and TM2 sensor or something I had to refer to manual).
    To note, my computer works perfectly with CPU clock utility. But my bit older laptop with Pentium M and some Centrino sertified board does not.
    Clock utility can set my cpu speed & throttle with my laptop, but it is conflicting with keyboard irq or something, because some times my keyb lose a key hit or two.
    Hope this helps you speedFan fans. I'm going back to water cooling when I get my SCSI drives silenced.
    - prc

    Now with some pictures from my settings.
    First before you setup, you can go to speeds tab to rename speed2 to eg. CPUFAN, tho this does not have any other effect than its easier to see from other speeds.
    In temeperature tabs, I have chosen core1 and core2 temperatures to be those temperatures that speed2 can affect. As you can see, also core1 (and core2) have "desired" and "warning" temperatures set.
      http://koti.mbnet.fi/~prc/temp/Speedfan_temp.JPG
    In Fans tab, I have unmarked all other fans than CPUFAN (before renaming speed2). I dont want to monitor other fans, also cpufan is onlyone that I can get RPM values.
      http://koti.mbnet.fi/~prc/temp/speedfan_fans.JPG
    From speeds tab I have set that CPUFAN minimum speed is 25% and maximum is 100%. Before I had 0-100%, but I changed min value to 25% to give chipset a bit more airflow, as it is with passive cooling.
      http://koti.mbnet.fi/~prc/temp/speedfan_speeds.JPG
    In advanced tab I have changed speed2 divisor to 8, and PWM2 mode to manual PWM control. This was originally something like thermal cruise or so, meaning it is BIOS controlled.
      http://koti.mbnet.fi/~prc/temp/speedfan_advanced.JPG
    Here is picture of speedfan running so that there is not much CPU load. (ok the meter says over 40%, must be some of my over 20 applications running atm, but generally load stays under 10%).
      http://koti.mbnet.fi/~prc/temp/speedfan_noload.JPG
    And here is picture of speedFan under load, running pifast on both cores.
      http://koti.mbnet.fi/~prc/temp/speedfan_load.JPG
    And here is one picture to show, that the cpu fan really reacts also to manual controls.
      http://koti.mbnet.fi/~prc/temp/speedfan_manual.JPG
    To note that if I enter speed 0% for my cpufan, it will still run about 1000 RPM, so motherboard won't stop it really. Of course fan minimum and maximum RPM depends on the fan. Some fans run over 5000 RPM (FYI).
    My speedfan is version 4.32 beta 8. From BIOS I have enabled that smartfan or whatever setting, with target temperature around 50C. But speedfan will overrule this setting when it is set to "manual PWM control". I have left it enabled, so that my BIOS can control the fanspeed (and not run on 100% all the time) if for some reason I don't startup speedfan or it gets broken.
    GL with setupping, hope you got it working, if not try to be bit more specific and lets see if theres something we can do for it.
    Ah to note, to control fan you must use fan that uses the 4pin CPUfan connector, I'm not sure if the fan needs to have some chip on itself to be actually controlled. In amd boards, where fan connector is 3pin connector, you can control all fans. (if the cpufan is controllable). Dunno about Intel boards, this is first intel board for me, after my old P3.

  • Pointing KM to our file server

    Hi folks,
    We have recently setup a portal prototype and I have got KM working with the folders that exist on the portal server.  My question is can I point the KM to our file server that exists on our network?  Assuming I can do this, does the Check-in and Check-out/document locking functionality reside on the portal and could users therefore circumvent the security by going directly to the file server instead of the portal?
    Thanks for any help you can provide!
    -Patrick

    Hi Patrick,
    you can access the filesystem by creating a CM repository in FSDB mode or a Filesystem repository. Here is a link to
    some howto Guide for creating CM repositories:
    <a href="http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/kmc/Creating%20a%20">http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/kmc/Creating%20a%20</a>
    The locking is supported by the CM repository, but only KM internally. If the user accesses the file from the filesystem, he can change the document content even if the file is locked in KM. I would also propose to deny access on filesystem level after integrating it into KM.

  • Error lookup EntityManager on OC4J 10.1.3.1.0

    Hi,
    I've just upgraded my development environment from 10.1.3.0.0 to 10.1.3.1.0.
    I'm heaving trouble in this version when I try to lookup a JPA EntityManager using JNDI.
    I got following code fragment from the howto guides from 10.1.3.0, and they worked well on previous version:
    public EntityManager getEntityManager() {
    try {
    if (em == null) {
    em = (EntityManager) getContext().lookup("java:comp/ejb/EntityManager");
    } catch (NamingException e) {
    throw new RuntimeException(e);
    return em;
    However, when installed on 10.1.3.1 I got the following error message:
    06/08/22 07:23:10 java.lang.RuntimeException: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Default application EntityManager is not available; no deployed entities
    This didn't make much sence to me, as the log showed my entities being mapped at deployment. Just for verification, I've added a SessionBean to my code (It's not my intention to use session beans) and tried to access an EntityManager instance from this sessionbean, which I got using the @Resource anntotation. That worked fine, suggesting that my entities indeed did deploy.
    Is there any difference in how the EntityManager should be looked up from jndi, compared to the previous version? JNDI tree from the Enterprise Manager doesn't show any entitymanagers...
    Thanks for any help
    Bert

    Hello,
    One of the major differences for the EJB container between 10.1.3.0.0 and 10.1.3.1.0 is the fact that we move from the last draft of the EJB 3 specification to the final version of the specifications.
    So you can now use the @PersistenceContext to lookup the entity manager.
    The EJB 3.0 page has been updated and sample applications too, to reflect the change.

  • Problem in BPM Collect scenario

    Hi,
    I am implementing a collect scenario of BPM in which I am collecting Acccount details of a customer and posting them to receiver.
    In Receiver Determination, I have two objects, one with Sender system and BPM process and other with BPM process as sender and Receiver System.
    However, when scenario is run, in SXMB_MONI I see success flag for the processgin of message with Tilted green flag in column C stating that "Message Scheduled at the outbound End." I am not able to understand the meaning of this message.
    I have checked queues; there are no queues with any messages stuck. Also, because there is no error in the processing of message, I am not able to check the point in BPM till where processing was successful.
    Kindly let me know where I can go and check for possible causes of errors. Also, let me know if BPM process could be debugged at runtime.
    Thanks and regards,
    Bhavish Bhatia
