  • App-v 5.0: howto mount and dismount via powershell (just for testing purposes)

    Hi,
    Please advise howto easily mount an App-v package and full remove it afterwards (when ok).
    This only to test the package is ok on a machine without the need to put it into sccm or a management server.

    Hi,
    this article is a must have to read abour PoSh cmdlets and App-V5.
    If you want to test you can:
    Get-AppvClientPackage | Mount-AppvClientPackage
    This command, gets all your published App-V packages and mount them to 100%.
    If you want to remove a package which is published to you, you can use:
    Get-AppvClientPackage -name *yourpackage* | Stop-AppvClientPackage | Repair-AppvClientPackage | Unpublish-AppvClientPackage | Remove-AppvClientPackage
    to remove it. I alsways stop, and repair it first, so I'm sure all user changes are removed also.
    Keep in mind, the remove-cmdlet need elevated rights.

  • Mounting Repository Problem

    Hi All,
              When i mount MDM server a new Pop up windows open. In this Pop up window it shows Error mounting Server and File failed a CRC check. While In status it shows Communication Error. If anybody knows how to correct it Please do needful as soon as possible.
    Thanks in advance,
    Mandeep Saini

    Hi Mandeep,
    I fully agree with Cleopantra. I have faced this problem many times. this comes when you try to mount the MDM server using MDM console of different version as of MDM server.
    To Resolve this, you need to install the MDM console of the same version as of MDM server.
    Please check the MDM server version and install the console of the same version and your problem will be automatically solved.
    To check the version of MDM server, open any log file. You will se following entries at the top of the log file"
    <b>
    Host name: MDM Server Name
    Process id:
    Compile type: RELEASE_32
    MDM Server version: 5.5.41.70 Built on 2007-Jun-19
    Repository schema version: 1.264
    </b>
    the statement MDM server Version tells the version of MDM server.
    Hope this will help you. Revert if you have any more queries.

  • Problem in mounting the repository

    Hai expertise,
          When i try to mount repository or change database settings it is showing some error (The same thing is working previously) :
         1) I have not saved the list of mounted servers SAP MDM Servers.mcs while closing the MDM console (From that time the same problem is occuring)
         2) when i try to change the configuration -> database settings it is showing the following error even though i am giving proper database username and password
            <b>Error is like this " DBMS has not been initilialized for use with MDM. Leaev the feild blank to use the default DBMS paths.or use good paths to override the defaults.if the DBMS host has multiple path instances use unique paths to this instance.these paths may change later through DBMS setting options

    I created 2 folders in my Microsoft SQL Server folder and entered them in these two feilds. Then error pop up windows appear as

      3) Same error comes when i try to mount a repository to my MDM server
    How to  resolve the issue????

    Hello Govada,
                         Lemme know are u specifying the database name to which u need to connect and then specifying the Database password.

  • Repository folder not found in Distribution Folder

    Hi all,
    I am not getting the repository folder in the distribution folder under the database server for the mounted repository.
    What would be the cause?
    Kindly help!
    Regards,
    Arun prabhu S

    Hi Klaus,
    I found this strange thing only after creating the port in the repository!
    Hi Jack,
    I have checked my server archive folder. I can see the archive of my mounted repository.
    We can unarchive a repository only after moving the archive (a2a) file into archive folder right? How does this archive file existance relates to the distribution folder? I dont understand. Can you please relate this problem to the archive check?
    Thanks for your support.

  • MDM console GUI on Windows is not mounting the MDM server on Solaris

    Hello MDM experts,
    This is kind of administrative problem. I am basis person, installing SAP MDM 5.5 SP04 for the first time.
    I have configured the MDM server (mds) on solaris 10 system. I have also configured MDM import server(mdis) and Syndication serever (mdss) on the same machine. I have installed the database software and configured the empty repository on the same host machine.
    So, Database and all the 3 MDM services (mds,mdis,mdss) are running on Solaris machine.
    After that, I installed "MDM console fat client GUI" component on my desktop and trying to "mount the server" by specifying the "hostname" of the solaris machine where MDM services are running.
    But I am not able to mount it...it says invalid server and does not mount.
    Any idea what might be the problem ????
    I referred following link :
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_mdmgds55/helpdata/EN/8e/9f9c427055c66ae10000000a155106/frameset.htm
    which says, you should have administrative right on Solaris machine where MDM server is running....but how do I have that being a Windows user ???
    Please advise.

    Hello Mark,
    1. When I right click on the "SAP MDM servers" node in "Console Hierarchy" pane on the left hand side of the Console GUI, and select "Mount MDM Server..." option in context menu, I get a dialog box for entering my MDM server name.
    I typed in the fully qualified host name of my solaris server where "mds-r" is running.
    When I click "OK" button, it adds an entry in "Console Hierarchy" on left hand side, but the entry comes with "Yellow exclamation Mark" sign. Also it says Status "Invalid" when I see the "MDM servers" section on right hand side top.
    When I right click on my newly created entry of MDM server, all the options on context menu like "Mount Repository, Create Repository, Connect to MDM server" look greyed out. Only the option of "Unmount MDM server" seems to be enabled
    2. I tried to do the same thing on 2 different Windows machines and got the same output.
    Regards,
    Bharat

  • Strange - on one blade, /OVS is mounted twice

    Hi all
    Oracle VM 2.1.2
    On a 5 blade HP C3000 Enclosure, I'm trying to provide the shared /OVS file system. On 4 of the blades, OCFS is working correctly. Strangely, on one of the blades, despite an identical /etc/fstab, after booting, /OVS is mounted twice:
    df output
    /dev/mapper/lun1-oraclevm 67356672 1402880 65953792 3% /OVS
    /dev/cciss/c0d0p3 67356672 1402880 65953792 3% /OVS
    */etc/fstab*
    root@hpblade2 etc# more fstab
    LABEL=/ / ext3 defaults 1 1
    LABEL=/boot /boot ext3 defaults 1 2
    devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
    tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
    proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
    sysfs /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
    LABEL=SW-cciss/c0d0p5 swap swap defaults 0 0
    */dev/mapper/lun1-oraclevm /OVS ocfs2 sync,_netdev 1 0 # SAN*
    filerrac.ch.oracle.com:/vol/sct /mnt/sct nfs defaults 0 0
    To my best knowledge, fstab is the only file defining filesystems to be mounted upon startup.
    When I umount /OVS, the unwanted mount is removed, leaving the proper one. When I try to establish HA using VM Manager, the unwanted /OVS reappears....
    On this blade, for a first quick test before setting up OCFS2, I've set up (and deleted thereafter) a VM Server (Server Pool Master, Utility Server, Virtual Machine Server). Maybe the unwanted mount of /dev/cciss/c0d0p3 stems from this trial? Is there another file that could cause the unwanted mount?
    Thanks a lot
    Tino

    Alas, no success, see my steps and results below....
    After that, I've found a thread that sounds promising - [ovs-onlinerepo not working with multipath environment |http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=843783]. I realize I havn't mentioned multipath yet - sorry if this was crucial information.
    Anyway, I will check the solution path out and come back with outcome....
    ==> Quick update: Multipath does cause the problem. Commented /etc/multipath.conf out, booted.......and /OVS mounts like a dream. Haven't done the
    ==> other steps, yet.....
    Cheers, Tino

  • Virtual Machine startup problem: Set CPU Cap: failed

    Hi,
    Recently, I have installed Oracle VM Server 2.2.2 on two servers having common Repository. I've configured 3 disks as repository.

    Intallation of VM Machine also ended up without any issues. (O/S OEL 5.5).

  • Oracle vm server restarts when converting imported ovf file to template

I had imported the ovf file successfully, but when I tried to create template from the ovf file, somehow my server just restarted, and I could not find out the error from xend.log.

  • Error while create or mount a repository in MDM

    Hi,
    after installing SAP MDM 5.5 SP06 and SAP MaxDB 7.6.00.35 on the same hardware (Laptop with Windows NT Client) I started MDM Console, mounted the MDM Server and then started the MDM Server (green arrow).
    When I try to add a repository (unarchiving an existing or creating a new one) I enter the data (DBMS eerver, User-ID and password) and then I always get the same error message:
    "Error Getting DBMS Settings" --> "Error initializing database engine".
    Any ideas where the problem is?
    thanks and regards
    Erich

  • How to Mount a repository in MDM

    Hi,
    I need to check the repository is mounted or not. If it is not mounted I need to mount the repository in the program.
    Can anyone tell me any methods available to do this,.
    Thanks & regards
    Vijay

    I believe you have posted this question in the wrong forum. I think you probably want the MDM forum. Even if you are working with the MDM ABAP APIs, there is nothing Web Dynpro specific there. I would suggest either the MDM or ABAP General Forums.

  • Database command execution error. (While mounting a repository)

    Hello,
    I am trying to mount 'Customer Master' repository in Console
    But it is giving me the following error.
    'Database command execution error. A SQL statement failed to execute. The actual error may have been written to a log file.'
    Can any1 throw some light as to how do i solve this problem.
    And where to check this log file?
    Also i am able to mount any other repository without this error.
    Regards,
    Roshani

    Hi Roshni,
    It could be that the repository tables were not correctly created in the Oracle Database.
    Try restarting the oracle services ,also check the Oracle listener configurations are correct.
    If you have an archieve of this repository then try mounting the archieve with a different name.
    Also try restarting the MDM server.
    Hope It Helped
    Thanks & Regards

  • No mount found for repository

    I got the below message in my AdminServer.log when trying to present a server to a repository. It's not server specific, as I have another server in the cluster that I cannot present that repository to. Does anyone know how to fix this? It's complaining about no mount existing for that respository:

    Yeah I can see how most people haven't ran into this problem yet because they probably don't have more than 8 nodes in a cluster.I've logged an internal Sev2 bug for this, because the Pool Filesystem is formatted with the maximum 32 node slots, but storage repositories are not. So, this can be a major issue.
    I'd have to update about 6 repositories just to get another node added to the cluster...so if you find another solution that doesn't require taking the repositories offline, please let me know.I would log an SR with Oracle Support so that they can engage the OCFS2 development team for assistance. Unfortunately, I don't know of a way to do this without taking the repositories offline.
