Howto: Move movies, TV shows, Music to a second Mac
I need to move my purchased movies and TV shows off my Macbook as I am running out of disk space. I have a desktop mac that the family shares - so how do I get the content to the shared mac and off my Macbook?
Type "move itunes library" into the search bar at the top of this page by "Support"

I have lost all my movies, t.v.shows and music, how do I get them back
My computer shot down a couple of times, so I went to have it repaired. The technician needed to reboot the whole system so he save my movies, t.v. shows, apps, music and all on another harddrive. While he was at it I requested to have him installed the new window version Windows 7 Professionnel. Since that awful idea of mine, not only can I not watched or have acces to my movies, t.v. shows, music etc. now the system is telling me there is an incompatibility with windows and Itune, but before this I upgraded Itunes to version 10.06 something, so now the movies that I download work alright they just don't have sound anymore. I can listen and play with my games and all and the sound is fantastic but I soon as I use Itunes, I hear silence and it freezes all the time. I am ****** at Itunes for not being able to help me out, everytime I tried to have contact with a technician I also hear silence, ain't that a kick in the butt. So can anyone out there help me, I have tried many things suggested by people that had the same problem but to no vail, nothing works. I am also wondering about my 300 movies and 400 songs that I have paid for, what will Itunes do to help me out?

MoMoI have read a lot of suggestions concerning my problem, the thing is I don't have the option of Re-downloading and in the file menu when I get my library options I don't even have the option of backing up my movie, music, apps, and I don'tt have the Purchased option under my quick links for some unknown reason. Open itunes store Click "Purchased" under "Quick Links", simply does not work for me. I certainly would like to contact itunes support who would kindly granted me a one time re-download of my purchased music. But then don't answer my cry for help, so again I am stuck with nothing after I bought over 1000.00 dollars worth of movies, music, apps and I don' t have acces to any of it. Thank you Apple for making me feel like a valued customer,

Ipod says no music but when connected to computer shows music
ipod says no music, but when hooked to mac shows music and playlists
In the Mac iTunes, you may be looking at the iTunes library, click the iPod iCon in the device pane, and look at the summary page, it will tell you what is shown in the iPod.
The Capacity section will report Audio, and Other (which in your case may contain your music) due to filesystem coruuption.

I am based in the UK and have just got a new iphone 6, everything works well except when i try to turn on the itunes store app - i can do a search and buy music etc that way, within the app, however, if i go to Music, Movies or the TV shows section within the Store app, i get a message come up saying "Item Not Available" - This item you've requested is not currently available in the UK Store, but it is available in the US store. Tap Change Store to view this item". I therefore cannot browse the music, movies or tv shows sections at all, nothing shows up except that message. All my previous itunes purchases have downloaded ok, and i can access them. My apple ID works fine and restrictions on the iphone are turned OFF. The App Store app works normally. Connection etc is all fine and I can access itunes in the normal way on my ipad and laptop, so this is just an iphone problem. Any ideas? is this a bug? I cant find anyone else with exactly the same problem. By the way, the same message comes up when i click on the red Music icon, on the iphone (situated next to the Safari icon) and then go to the "Store" via that app. my playlists are in tact, but as soon as i click that Store button, I am told that the Item is unavailable - not that i have chosen any Item lol, I just want to access the store in the normal way. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you can give
It is working now. I no longer get the message about the item not being available in the US and I can access the store.

Today, I had to retire my Macbook 17" Pro because it would not do wireless internet anymore. It is now an expensive dust-gatherer in my storage closet. I had all my music and movies and tv shows on there, but I wasn't all that worried, the movies and tv shows I'll probably never watch again, but the music was another matter - music that I purchased via iTunes.
"Not to worry," I thought,"It's all in the cloud."
And so it was. But the problem is that iTunes on my Windows 7 desktop insists on downloading all my 150GB of movies and tv shows that I don't want on there. I want ONLY the music that I purchased. Yes, the Windows 7 desktop is authorized, just to get that little matter out of the way. But I can see nowhere in Edit -> Preferences where I can actually set it NOT to download movies or tv shows, but to allow music to download. Are there any workarounds for this?
I'd love to just be able to go back to my Macbook Pro, but I have to wait until I hear word from Cupertino that they have not only acknowledged the general problem with Macbook Pro's wireless, but actually have a fix for it. Sorry, if I sound abrasive, but when something is supposed to "just work" and it doesn't, it does get a bit disconcerting.

Can't see purchased music, movies, or TV shows after upgrade to iTunes 11.1.2
I upgraded my Macbook to the new Mavericks OS and also updated iTunes to the newest version 11.1.2 on Wednesday. Since then I have been unable to view any of my purchased music on the iTunes Store. The purchased page comes up blank. However I am able to view it the purchased music via the iTunes Store link on my iPod Touch and iPad.
I'm also unable to download the movies and TV shows that I purchased on iTunes on my computer. They show up under purchased but they do not have the cloud icon on them for me to download. When I click on them it takes me to the page to purchase them again. However when I view them on my iPod and iPad they have the cloud link so that I can download them without having to pay for them.
Is anyone else having these issues since downloading Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2? I tried downloading some of the purchased music to my iPod and syncing with my computer but after 4 hours of the spinning wheel I gave up on trying to sync my iPod.Found a solution from the Apple Support Team. The link below will tell you what to do to get your cloud content to show up in your library so that you can download it.

i want to import photos onto my ipad3. it shows up as a device in itunes but there isn't a photo category listed. it shows music, movies, books and purchased.

I'm not sure about how to get iTunes to recognize that my music is in one location (on my MacBook's internal hard drive) and my movies and tv shows are in another (on an external hard drive I purchased). I know how to make iTunes recognize that all of my iTunes files are on an external hard drive, but not only some of them. Please help me out. Thanks.
While you can do that, it is not a feature of iTunes. Put your movies on the external drive, then add them to iTunes by dragging the files to iTunes while holding the option (alt) key down so it leaves the files where they are located. Downloaded iBooks on my Macbook Pro but when I tried to sync it on my iPhone, this appeared: "Are you sure you want to sync books? All existing songs, movies and TV shows on the iPhone “My iPhone” will be removed". Love the iBooks as well as music. I really don't want to loose my music. HELP!!!
From the message you are receiving, it sounds like you either, 1) haven't synced your iPhone with that computer before, 2) are using two different iTunes accounts, or 3) both. If you have purchased music or movies through your iPhone with a certain iTunes account and purchased books through iBooks on your MacBook through a different iTunes account then there is no having both on the phone.
Apple doesn't allow content from two different accounts on a device at the same time. Also if two "libraries" have been created, one on the iPhone and one on the Macbook then syncing will erase data that is not associated with that particular library.
If you are using the same iTunes account for both, then you should be able to redownload any purchased items (music, books, etc.) from iCloud, assuming you have set that up.

AppleTV in itunes missing movies/tv shows/music/podcasts tabs
A friend's AppleTV only shows two tabs when in itunes: settings and photos.
My AppleTV (1st gen) shows all the usual tabs (settings/movies/tv shows/music/podcasts) and my settings tab has a Sync box where I can set my sync settings - my friends does not. All he has in his settings tab is the top box which states the name, capacity, software version and serial number.
He's using iTunes10 and his AppleTv (gen1) is on version 3.0.2
Any idea why he can't see what I can with mine? Any suggestions? His AppleTV shows up in iTunes fine, and is connected to the internet.was your imac running OSX 10.5x, and is the new mac pro running OSX 10.6x? I wonder if the first generation of AppleTVs isn't properly snow leopard compatible? My friend's imac that he's got his AppleTV connected to is running Snow Leopard (my AppleTV is connected to an old G5 running 10.5x and as I say, it works perfectly)....hmmmmm

ever since updating my apple tv to the latest software, my on screen menu is missing all the apple shows and movie catagories plus netflix is gone from my internet menu. I have home sharing turned on and able to listen to music from my desktop also see any movies I rented from apple on my desktop mac. Any ideas what could be happening.

I have iTunes 11 on a Windows 8.1 PC. It is streaming to a 3rd Gen Apple TV. Movies and TV Shows seem to play fine. Music will stream for about 10 - 16 songs, then just stop. I have to reset everything, then it will repeat the cycle. This happens regardless of wire or wireless connection. I would suspect that there is something wrong with the network, or Apple TV, except that movies and TV Shows seem to be fine. My music library is about 3700 songs, all legit, either imported from source or puchased through iTunes. This one has me stumped and frustrated!
I thought that may have been the case too. I set the power settings to compensate but still the same. I also done things like reset the router and Apple TV to factory. Starting to think it may actually be the Apple TV, but it just doesn't make sense ?!?

Can't left click music, movies or TV Shows libraries
Windows 7 64bit, Itunes 10.5.0.142
I can't left click on the music, movies, or tv shows libraries.
I have tried running Itunes as administrator, but that did not fix the issue.
I can get to the libraries in question by right clicking and then hitting esc to get out of the menu, or I can use the arrow keys to navigate to the correct library.
So I'm working around the issue, but it is very annoying.
Help!Same, I've been having this problem for a while now. I've tried reinstalling itunes, restore my computer to weeks ago, etc but nothing is working. I also used to be able to edit song names, artists, etc by left clicking. But same thing as libraries, it doesn't work. I honestly think that it is a problem with the 10.5 update.

I can get my music, movies and tv shows to play through my apple tv, but I cannot see my photo stream on my apple tv. What can I do to get my photos to show up on the TV?
I have a mac and wireless internet.Because you've got music and movies streaming to your Apple TV, I know you've authorized Home Sharing under the file menu of iTunes. But under that same iTunes file menu you must also go to the "Home Sharing" pull-down and select "Choose Photos to Share With Apple TV". You can select All photos, or just specific albums. Maybe worth saying again that this is done from iTunes and not iPhoto.
If you've already done this and still no photos on AppleTV, check to see that your photo file names (previously imported into iPhoto) have valid suffixes (such as photo.jpg). Without that valid suffix, iPhoto on your Mac will show the photo just fine (courtesy of the hidden Type Code embedded in the photo file), but AppleTV will not.
