Howto Override portal stylsheet for selected subset of iviews?

Hallo
I have a question concerning the WebTemplates in the Enterprise Portal.
I face a situation where the WebTemplates posted in the enterprise portal always draw the stylesheet provided by the portal.
I know that I can override the stylesheet with providing a property in the url [style_sheet = ' *.css '], thus fixing a given stylesheet to a certain iview.
However I would like to find a way that will ensure that the WebTemplate stylesheet will override the global portal Iview. This has to be achieved only for a given subset of Iviews [not turning of the global settings...].
Anybody got an idea if that is possible?

well one way could be the following.
Go into KM-Content --> Repository "userhome" --> select the user you want --> navigate into his folder Favorites --> create a new internal link in this folder to the folder you want
In the favorites of the user there is now a link to the desired folder and after clicking a new window will be opened. You can copy this internal link to the favorites folder of the other users you want.

Hide Portal Favorites for only a particular iView

Hello,
Can we hide Portal Favorites in Navigation Panel for a particular iView and whenever requires we can open the Portal Favorites for that iView.

Hi,
You can hide the detailed navigation pannel for a particular page, but user will be able to re-open it via a click on "expand detailed navigation menu".
You can not delete the favorites part for just one iview/page, as it is configured on the portal framework.
You can decide that the iview can not be added to portal's favorite (it is an iview option).

Overriding Bounceback Ver. for Selected Third Party Senders

We are happily using bounceback verification. However, we have a group here that has hired a third party to send out survey emails for them. We would like the undeliverables from these mailings to come back to us.
Has anyone successfully configured this? At Ironport's suggestion, I have created a mail flow policy that accepts untagged bounces. Then I created a sender group that uses this policy and added the 3rd party's IP as the sender. I put this sender group 2nd in the list (if that matters) after Whitelist but above Blacklist, suspectlist, etc. However, the untagged test undeliverable still does not come back through.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Everything you've done by adding a customized Sendergroup/Mail flow policy(ie. Accept-Untagged-Bounces-Sendergroup) is fine.
More than likely, the IP, hostname, or partial hostname that you entered is not matching against those undeliverables that are coming back. See if you can obtain any of those undeliverables and see what IP / hostname it is when it makes contact with the Ironport appliance.
Also, you can try search for the IP address that you entered in for those customized sendergroups.
On the command line of your ironport appliance, type this:
grep -i "IP_Address" mail_logs
If they connect, you should see their IP addresses with respect to ICID's.
ICID's represent when outgoing servers connect to your Ironport appliance.
Here is an example of what it may look like:
Tue May 13 13:29:53 2008 Info: New SMTP ICID 4 interface Management (74.201.91.95) address 10.251.0.73 reverse dns host bungalow.sfo.ironport.com verified yes
Tue May 13 13:29:53 2008 Info: ICID 4 REJECT SG BLACKLIST match test.ironport.com SBRS None
then type this:
grep -i "ICID 4" mail_logs to get more information.
Feel free to paste back when you get from the logs and I'll help analyze.

How to restrict data for selection

Hi, folk,
I've faced with the following issue.
I have set of items. There are, for example, income items and expense items.
Items are distinguished by value of attribute.
According to business process, planning for income and expense items is quite different. Due to this reason I've created two planning folders to process ones.
Item was placed into header of planning format.
Before planning I should select item. More over, for income planning I should select item from income subset.
So, how to based on value of attribute I can restrict items for selection in the planning folder.

Easier impossible,
Rather than using a variable of type attribute I would use an variable of type exit.
The exit returns the full list of item in income or expense. (This depends on another variable, that could be a simple digit base or based on some other infoobject).
The variable should be assigned to your level and also available in the planning folder for selection.
The user will see the full list values and select the one he nedes to plan.

How to set Portal Theme for WDA iView different from user's Theme

Hi Experts!
I have dual-stack system: ABAP server + Java. I have WDA application in ABAP server and I deployed it to NW Portal via iView (using template).
There are two themes customized:
1: Standard - to be used for all iviews except WDA iviews. This theme is set as default for user.
2.: WDA theme - to be used for some WDA iviews IRRESPECTIVELY what them is set in personalization settings of the user.
So my question is:
Can I somehow set the Portal Theme to be used for specific iView no matter what Theme user has selected in his personalization?
Or if its not possible, can I set some specific Theme for WDA application?
So taks is to overcome settings for default portal theme for user and replace it with different theme. Is this possible?

Are you using an LDAP as your UME, or are the user records from from R/3 ?
Apparently (Ive never done it) you used to be able to force a default language by editing this file (back in the EP5 days):
<J2EE root>\WEB-INF\portal\system\properties\prtDefault.properties
Look at the following lines :
This is the default language to be used when none is specified
request.defaultlanguage=en
request.defaultcountry=us
If you prefer to have the same language for all users no matter their user locale, change the lines to this :
This is the default language to be used when none is specified
request.mandatorylanguage=en
request.mandatorycountry=us

Portal favourites for all users to be same

hi all,
we have implemented ESS over portal and i have added some links to portal favourites.
they are appearing fine in my portal favourites section.
Now the requirement is that i want all users to see the same links when they logon by their respective ids.
but this is not happening. those links are in portal favourites for my id only.
Kindly let me what to do.
the way I added those links was to just click over the link in ESS workset and from the page title bar, selected the option, add to portal favourite.

Hi Ankur,
I guess you want one person to manage favorites for all the users of Portal. In such a case you can achieve this without any development work using KM. Just follow the below steps:
1. Create a folder in KM inside documents folder (Content Admin > KM content > documents), say Favorites.
2. Create links (external/Internal) inside the folder.
3. Create a KM navigation I view by name Favorites and edit the property Path to Initially Displayed Folder = /documents/favorites (your folder path in KM)
4. Add this I view to your homepage and page to the subsequent role
5. Assign the role to the user.
It works like custom favorites for all users using which you can centrally control user favorites just by adding or removing links in the KM favorites folder.

I been trying to setup a plsql statment to run a select statment from tables that are in a list.
this is what I have done so far as a test and it is not letting me do it and I don't know why can anyone point me in the right direction.

In PL/SQL you cannot just "select", as PL/SQL is a server sided language. You must use a record or variable to hold the selected data. Anyway, for selecting from different tables dynamically, you can use (Native) Dynamic SQL or Ref Cursors. Take a look at the documentation, especially the "PL/SQL User's Guide and Reference":

Error when trying to run UCM from browser -The portal page for your Content

Hi
When I try and run the UCM in a browser using "http://localhost/idc", it showing
"The portal page for your Content Server needs to be rebuilt. Start the WebLayout Editor as a standalone application and select Update Portal... from the Options menu."
I did see a previous message that says to go to Weblayout Editor Applet - Options - Build Home Page - Update -Ok, but I was not able to see the Build Home Page option in the drop down.
Any ideas what may be causing this issue?

I have installed this product on two environments following the same kind format.
In our dev environment I am able to type in the following to get to the Welcome to Content Server Page

In the other environment I use the following and I get that the error "The portal page for your Content Server needs to be rebuilt. Start the WebLayout Editor as a standalone application and select Update Portal... from the Options menu."

So the only way to get to the Content Server Page is to type the full path as below which I don't want to do, because I want the welcome screen to appear first.

Is there a way I can configure the application to get to my welcome screen instead of getting the error message detailed above?

Content Administration->Portal Content
navigate to Portal Content->Content Provided by SAP->End User Content->Standard Portal Users
You can see the default framework page
Open the framework.
Select the desktop inner page check box and click OPEN.
Now you can see the portal favourities iview.
Remove it from the page.

Error while executing a sql query for select

ORA-01652: unable to extend temp segment by 128 in tablespace PSTEMP i'm getting this error while i'm executing the sql query for selecting the data.

I am having 44GB of temp space, while executing the below query my temp space is getting full, Expert please let us know how the issue can be resolved..

Hello,
in an ALV-Report you could just use get_selinfos = 'X' in the layout-workarea.
Check the docu on parameter IS_LAYOUT in REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY.
Or you could use the fuction you wrote about and print these information at the TOP_OF_PAGE event.
