Howto pack/integrate j2ee appllication into a portal env?

Hi,
I have some j2ee web application(war file) and i need to integrate it into portal. I dont want to use URL iView, is there any other way how to do it? Is there any possibility to call some class which extends HttpServlet(some description in portalapp.xml, or or is it possible to call it from abstractportalcomponent-how?) and is then possible to find out username or only one way is url iview?.

Integrate WDA Iview into SAP Portal

I would like to link this application into SAP Portal.Can i create a WDA iview template and go forward.

Hi Lina,
First you need to take web dynpro for ABAP URL from web dynpro for ABAP application.
then go to content adminsitrator in the portal >> Portal content >> Create folder if required to maintain seperately >> Create ivew using "Ivew Tamplate' ..folllow the instruction >> select the "Web Dynpro for ABAP' ..then you need to select created SYSTEM(YOu need to create system in the system adminstration >> system configuration >> System landscape)

How do I integrate Adobe Flex into Oracles Webcenter Interaction portal

We currently use Oracle Webcenter Interaction portal 10gr3 (ALUI Portal)... Does anyone know how or can provide documentation on how to integrate adobe flex into this portal.. Our portal is on windows but it is the java installation of the portal. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Integration of BI Administrator into SAP Portal

Hi!
I would like to integrate BI Administrator into SAP Portal.
All the necessary steps has been succesfully executed
(Activation of technical content in SAP BI, Deployment of Business Package BI Administration 1.0).
The problem I have:
When I start one of the functions of SAP BI Administrator I get the Portal runtime error:
Portal runtime error.
An exception occurred while processing your request. Send the exception ID to your portal administrator.
Exception ID: 10:42_19/01/09_0073_21754250
Refer to the log file for details about this exception.
Can some one help me to solve this error?

How create iViews to integrate remote CE applications into central portal ?

Hello,
Our Central corporate Portal is a SAP Netweaver 7.0 EHP1, we also have a CE 7.1 Portal (Netweaver 7.1).
As explained in SAP demo, we now have the possibility to integrate into the central portal , remote java applications deployed on Composite Environnement 7.1, by using the Application Integrator, meaning that we can create Portal iViews that will integrate the CE 7.1 application similar to any other application integrated into the portal.

The upside of this strategy is that you do not need anymore to define a Federated Portal Network. (FPN)
I tried to create the afordmentionned iviews in the Central Portal, but I couldn't, in the Portal Content, I created the new Iview :

--->Remote Application Integration iView (Web Dynpro Java)
--->I gave the Iview a name and an ID, then I had the following error message
Step 3:
The template you selected allows you create local iViews that run a remote Web Dynpro Java application deployed on a different portal installation.
Choose the producer portal to which the remote Web Dynpro Java application has been deployed.
Note: Make sure that a system administrator has created and registered a connection to the relevant producer portal.

I seems that the system is reacting as if I was trying to setup a FPN. But I have no producer portal nor consumer portal, I just want to use the Application Integrator.
Any help on this issue would be really appreciated.

I have the same problem and can't create remote Application Integration iview(Web Dynpro Java) and have message EMPTY_REMOTE_PORTALS_LIST

I got 2 questions with regards to content in portal...
1) I got nearly 30 to 40 help documents (PDF & WORD) which users may refer when accssing CRM & BW system in portal.
Currently they are stored in the Local Drive....i am trying to find a way to upload them portal...so the users can always have the docs the require

2) Can any one please update me in detail ...on how to integrate Lotus Notes into portal and configure Single Sign on currently my Portal and Lotus Notes user id's are different

1. IF documents are on your local computer, Netweaver Portal has a KMC Addon (Knowledge Management and Collaboration). Within KM it is possible to run a Document Management Scenario. You can Create Folders within KM, give Access Rights to Users, Create an Iview to browse KM Folder then add that Iview to a Page or Role so users can access it.

Integrate Citrix Application into portal / Start Citrix from portal

Hi,
I would like to integrate some citrix metaframe applications into the portal.Or start the citrix within the portal.
I know SAP does have this solution in their teaching environment. On SAP courses I worked with this.
How is this made? I tried it with an URL iView but it doesn't work. Do you have any suggestions?

why do you want to store .exe files in the portal. Be aware there might be users with different OS which do not support .exe files.
As Michael suggested you can upload the .exe files (like any other file) in a KM repository and make them available through an ordinary KMNavigation iView.
Maybe you could explain why you want to "integrate" the files into SAP NetWeaver Portal.

Error when Integrating Ms Exchange server into Enterprise Portal

We are trying to integrate them MS Exchange server into Enterprise Portal and is facing the problem with WebDAV Repository manager.
i've already created a HTTP System given the right url for the system and i used the system in the WebDAV Repository, when i try to monitor the component called repository manager it is in yellow color and is showing the server status as start up failed and error msg is,

With a Live Office connection, you would typically use the URL iView and the opendocument URL to integrate the dashboard into the Enterprise Portal. There are existing posts on this forum about opendocument and Xcelsius dashboards.
Obviously you need to make sure the dashboard refreshes fine outside of the portal, for instance from Infoview.
Then, you need to look at the cross domain constraints : have both Infoview and Enterprise Portal in the same domain or use crossdomain.xml. They are lots of posts on this forum about that too.

How to check who has deployed a PAR into the portal

Hello Praveen,
You can find the user info from the trace files which are located in usr/sap/SID/DVEBMGS<SysNo.>/j2ee/cluster/server0/log/ subfolders.
Try to extract the info from the Tracefiles.
Again if you have the Logviewer configured then you might be able to find the same info there too.

Error after Integrating of Xcelsius SWF into Enterprise Portal

Hi all,
I integrated Xcelsius SWF file into portal using Business Objects Integration Kit - iView Template. I can see dashboard in Portal. Its working fine. I have Refresh Button in the Dashboard. If I refresh the dashboard , it shows cannot access External Data. Failed to get the document information(LO26315).
How can I resolve? Help me in this regard.
I am using BOE 3.1 and LO 3.1.

How to integrate BW3.5 into Portal6.0

into Portal6.0,but i did not integrate BW3.5 into Portal6.0,although i have solved SSO between Portal and BW system.My BW system and Portal release are last version of Netweaver2004, and they are installed on individual server.Could anybody tell me how to integrate BW3.5 into Portal6.0? hi alpha,
create an BW iview and in the name of the query string in ep simply give the url of webtemplate of ur query. save the ivew and execute the query.

Embeding a SAP GUI based Report program into EP portal

Hi experts,
                  I need a help, Is their any way to integrate a GUI based report program into EP portal. If yes can some one post how is it possible to acheive this functionality?.

You may try the following options
A. Transaction iView
    1.Make a transaction for the report program.
    2.Create an iView in Portal for transaction
B. ITS service
     1.Make a transaction for the report program.
     2.Create an ITS service and pass the transaction name to the parameter ~TRANSACTION in the ITS service
     3.Create an iView in Portal for ITS service
This way you will be able to call report program in Portal.

Unable to Login into BI Portal

Hello SAP Experts!
We have installed BI 7.0. During installation we have selected EP and EPcore components also. Now when i am trying to login into the portal with Url : http://<IP_Address>:5000/irj/portal, i am getting,
Java iView Runtime. Please, can anyone throw some light on this issue.

Hello Van,
Do provide more details on this by providing the trace of this particular error. Look into:
C:\usr\sap\<SID>\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log for example... and open the default trace file (latest) and check the latest entry..
Right off the bat, since it's a new installation - portal performance issue would have to be considered as a possible cause.
