Howto Poster (Preview) Frame on CS3 VideoPlayer object

I am new at this. DW-CS3. I have the DW Video Player
(progressive) which I enabled from the INSERT menu on the Index
page (the opening page) on my website. The Player is now a BLACK
rectangle on the webpage with a control bar at the bottom. This
BLACK rectangle is very UGLY and turns people off when they first
log on to my website.
I would grateful if an experienced person to advised me how I
can use whatever commands on DWCS3 (perhaps in the INSERT menU) to
cause a static image to appear on top of the video player so that
when a visitor click on it the video begins to stream and enjoy the
movie at that point.
I have search and have seen some comments but nothing that I
understand. Nothing as straight forward as a couple of menu clicks
and pointing to a *.jpg file for example. And also from the
comments I have read I do not know if they are talking about MX
2400 or CS3 and besides the explanations were way over my head.

Transparency flattening REQUIRES having access to the high-resolution images to get good results. One of the slogans I teach printers is "Fatten before you flatten." Meaning, replace the low-res images with high-res images.

Frame fitting options in object styles

We are producing multiple pages using tagged templates and importing xml - to populate both text and images.
Back in CS3 - our object styles using frame fitting worked perfectly. Since we have upgraded to CS5 and now CS6 - when xml is imported the frame fitting element of our object styles are no longer being honoured - when clicking on the object frame, it shows the style has been applied but with overrides - and it is adding random offsets to the frame fitting crop settings.
We are producing large numbers of pages through xml automation, therefore it's very time consuming to open every page and clear overrides/reset frame fitting on every affected graphic.
I've seen on other questions/forums that this may be a known bug - anyone have any up-to-date info on fixes or workarounds?

In one FI posting can we have two real objects?

Hi All,
When I am posting FI document with two real Objects (WBS & Cost Center) still system is accepting and created document.
As per My knowledge in FI Document only one real object to be accept but my case it taking two real cost object, why?
Is there any logic & activity and change any setting for this?

Hi,
you can enter CO objects of more than one type in the FI document, but there is a "hierarchy" among the different object types that decides, which object gets the "real" posting. All other objects will only get a statistical posting, even if they are configured to allow real postings ( are "real objects" in your terms) .
Examples:
You enter a cost center and an internal order in the document: --> order gets real posting, center statistical.
You enter a profitablitiy segment and an internal order in the FI document --> segement gets real posting, order statistical one.

My preview frame, preview looks like tv noise

Hi to all, I hope someone can help me, my preview frame( I don't know the exact name, is in picture) is distorted, in Adobe Edge I have try to reset the workspace, install and uninstall edge and nothing. Is the only software that is creating this issue. I need help cause I want to start using edge to animated my logo.

Please try reseting Edge animate preferences, follow the instructions using below link,

Adobe Illustrator: Can't see Character preview?, Illustrator CS3: Can't see Character preview?

I'm using Adobe Illustrator CS3 and I can't get the Character pulldown in the toolbar at the top to show me a preview of the typefaces before I select them. They all shown in the same standard typefaces.
How can get I Illustrator to to show me preview of the typefaces in the Character pulldown menu?

LR 2.1 Softproofing with CS3 Smart Object

I have seen Jeff Schewe use a duplicate of the image to smart proof at least until Adobe gets this in LR (Can't Wait!) but some discussions say edit in a smart object.
What advantage does this have over the way Jeff does this and is it done the same way with a duplicate image?

My problem might be of a similar origin.

I use mostly Hebrew characters for Keywording (the file names are in English) after opening in CS3 and saving, the keywords are converted from Hebrew fonts to accented fonts like åäöÅÄÖ.
This didn't happen in LR1 and does not happen if I use CS3 as my secondary editor (not using the new LR2 edit in CS3 functionality)

Getting Error while posting through KB11N : No true sender object entered

We have stastical internal order defined and same we are using in Asset. Let me explain the scenarion.
We created the Purchase requisition with the stastical Internal Order then we did Purchase Order and MIGO -Goods Receipt.
Now we realised that wrong Internal Order was used. Now we want to tranasfer cost from that Internal order to New Internal Order. we are trying to post through KB11N but while giving the all details i am getting error as per below;
No true sender object entered
Message no. BK175
Diagnosis
You have entered a statistical object as a sender. Statistical objects, however, are only intended for use with dual account assignments.
Procedure
1. If you require a dual account assignment, enter a true object as a sender also.
We are using cost element with having cost element category 90.
I don't no which is the true sender Object.

Your postings had happened to a statistical internal order. I hope the real postings might have happened to a cost centre.
You cannot settle anything from a statistical internal order. It is just for information purpose only. If the above posting had captured a cost centre (real posting), you can distribute/assess the cost from the cost centre to a real internal order for your purpose.

POSTING TO JSP FORMS GIVES NULL OBJECT RATHER THAN EMPTY STRING

We arehaving problems using the standard HTTPServletRequest getParameter
methodinside of the portal.
The standard for this method is as follows:
*If you usethis method to read from a text field without any text in it, you
get an empty string. ( "" )
*If you use it to read from a text field with text in it youwould get the
corresponding text.
*If you try to read from a field that doesn'texist then and only then would
you get a Null object.
On our portal server itis behaving differently inside of portlets.

After you have theprovider added to the portal, login to the portal as

In Oracle9iAS, a null value printed from a JSP page displays, by default, as
the string "null." To display nothing instead, set the attribute jsp-print-null

global-web-app.xml or orion-web.xml.

Scrollable frame is text: anchored object in text can not be button?

Following example: A textframe. With an anchored object (group). Paste textframe in other frame to make scrollable frame (pan only). Select anchored frame in already pasted into textframe, make button for anchored object (go to state).
Does not work, button does nothing (and yes a converted it to a button after the paste into other frame as last step).
Not possible?

If you want the button in the scrollable frame to control an MSO state, the button/scrollable frame needs to be part of the MSO. It is an InDesign limitation that buttons cannot control videos, audio clips, or MSOs unless they're on the same "level" in the document.

Question about file previewing in Bridge CS3

Does anyone know if it's possible to preview a Corel Painter file in Bridge? I'm running CS3 Bridge on a Windows XP machine. Currently, each Painter file is represented by the program's default icon. I'd love to actually see a real preview of each file!

When in Correl Paint use "save as" to save as jpeg or some other format supported in PhotoShop. That is easier than trying to convert it outside of the program.
You can keep the original .rif file in case you want to go back and work on it.

Preview mode Dreamweaver CS3/CS4 not compatible with Firefox 3.6.8

I found a post about this issue, which was marked 'solved', but it isn't! To use Firebug, I had to upgrade Firefox and since I did, I can't use the 'preview' function in Dreamweaver (It works only once, when Firefox is closed, but I don't like to close and re-open Firefox every time I want to preview a page). Downgrading is not an option, as I can't use Firebug and I really not think Adobe has to solve a problem caused by Firebox, as suggested in the previous post.

I'm going from mx to cs3 and can't find the copy and paste
frames option that used to be in the edit menu. Can anyone help

select all the frames you want to copy, right click, copy
frames.. in new doc, right click on a frame, paste frames

Accurate preview of gradients in EPS objects

I hope I can explain this properly... our company has been using a primarily Quark-based workflow for as long as I've been here. We would take individual layouts, save them as EPS, and then import them into a master layout (which was the size of our plates), and those layouts were printed directly from Quark. This has been buggy, as you can imagine, but has worked for us for the most part.
We are now in the process of adding PDF to the workflow (master Quark layout now exported as PDF, then dropped to a hot folder), and I've had a number of issues crop up (mostly due to the limitations of our new plate processor). The biggest issue is that we cannot control the preview size on the RIP server, which makes it near impossible to find errors. Obviously, the answer to that is to preview it in Acrobat before releasing. Enter the major issue...
Some of our ads arrive (or are built) as Illustrator EPS files, and some of them have a black to white gradient over a darker background (typically- but not always- red). When those files are imported into Quark, they look fine. When they are output as EPS, JPG, or PDF files for proofing, they look fine. In short, they look fine at every step of the process except the final output- they simply do not RIP properly. The gradient completely drops out, and I am left with a gradient-shaped hole. The solution has always been to put a white box behind that object (since no combination of overprint, trapping, etc. seems to affect it), which I don't mind continuing except for the problem of not having the means to review the document and catch it before the file is sent to print. We have 30+ artists, and while they have been instructed to add that box and look for those problems themselves, issues are going to creep through.
What I need, I guess, is some way to either catch this problem in Quark before the layout is exported to EPS, or a way to see an accurate preview in Acrobat so that it is caught before the document is printed. I've tried Advanced > Print Production > Output Preview > toggle Simulate Overprinting, but no dice. Any other suggestions?
Please forgive me if this doesn't make sense. I'm blaming a sinus infection. :-/

Thanks - but that's NOT it. Somewhere - there's a setting that allows you to view the vector in 72. 150 or 300 dpi. And depending on which one you select the bitmapping gets more refined as you zoom in on the artwork (in my case a logo). I know its there because I did it a couple of months ago - but stupidly I did not note where that setting is or whose blog I saw the answer on.

Video preview during capture CS3

Video preview during capture is not working even though settings are at preview video and audio during capture.
The work around seems to be to go ahead record anyway (red button) then it works after I paste the captured audio onto the timeline.
When pasting it to the timeline the video appears. The video appears during subsequent captures. It seems like a bug in CS3. This was not a problem with PP 1.5

No preview in illustrator CS3

Why can I not get a preview when I open a Illustrator CS3 file that has been already drawn. All I get is an orange "AI" file when I open in ai or eps mode? I initially saved it is a preview mode: default and profile: custom. Also, when I open "New" file, I have include document thumbnails checked. Thanks.
