Howto register a renderer

Can someone tell me some more insight on how to register a renderer? Suppose I use the following XML file:
<POLICYPROPERTYBUNDLE>
<NAME>CUSTPOLICYPROPERTYBUNDLE</NAME>
<PROPERTIES>
<PROPERTY>
<NAME>SmbRenderer</NAME>
<VALUE Datatype="SystemObject" Classname="Policy">
<NAME>SmbCustRenderer</NAME>
<IMPLEMENTATIONNAME>pier.ifs.CustRenderer</IMPLEMENTATIONNAME>
<OPERATION>SmbRenderer</OPERATION>
</VALUE>
</PROPERTY>
</PROPERTIES>
</POLICYPROPERTYBUNDLE>
* The policy-property-bundle-name is free to choose I suppose?
* What should be the name of the propery (SmbRenderer in my case)? Is it free to choose, or should it be a predefined keyword, based on the protocol?
* Implementation: I suppose that refers to the class I wrote with the renderer code? Need to specify full path name (relative to custom_classes)?
* Operation: free to choose? I think it has to be the same as the property name, can anyone confirm?
* If some of these things are not free to choose, what are the options? Like the operation, is it only SmbRenderer, FtpRenderer and CupRenderer?
* What operation to use in which situation. In ifsmgr I see also RenderAsText and RenderAsXml. What operation is used in which situation?
* The second XML file I need is the following I suppose:
<CLASSOBJECT>
<UPDATE reftype="name">CONTACTPERSON</UPDATE>
<POLICYBUNDLE RefType="name" Classname="PolicyPropertyBundle">CUSTPOLICYPROPERTYBUNDLE</POLICYBUNDLE>
</CLASSOBJECT>
* And finally, how to remove a policypropertybundle again?...
P.S. When using the above code I'm getting errors like:
IFS-30002: Unable to create new LibraryObject
IFS-30010: Attribute would not be unique (NAME)
Thanks in advance.

Correct.
* What should be the name of the propery (SmbRenderer in my case)? Is it free to choose, or should it be a predefined keyword, based on the protocol?
Pre-Defined based on Protocol. SMB will look for SmbRenderer. Ftp for FtpRenderer etc.
* Implementation: I suppose that refers to the class I wrote with the renderer code? Need to specify full path name (relative to custom_classes)?
Correct. You need to provide the fully qualified (package + class) name.
* Operation: free to choose? I think it has to be the same as the property name, can anyone confirm?
Should be the same I think.
* If some of these things are not free to choose, what are the options? Like the operation, is it only SmbRenderer, FtpRenderer and CupRenderer?
These names are reserved by the iFS protocol servers. If you had your own protocol server or application you could add addition policies to define the renderer mechansim for your custom protocol server or app.

I'm not sure I'll get back to you next week once I'm back in the office.

  • Registering own Renderer to SelectOneListBox

    Hi there!
    I'm new in JSF. I want to register my own Renderer to the existing component SelectOneListBox. What i have to do to make this runnable? I've created a class called 'StyleSelectOneListBoxRenderer', which should render the output of <h:selectOneListBox>, but i don't know how to register this renderer. Do i have to write a custom component or can i register a new renderer to an existing component?
    Thanks!

    Thank you John for your reply but that isn't exactly what I want. I read somewhere in the 467 pages of instructions about connecting the camera to the computer and using the EOS utility registering my own name directly on to the camera.
    Regards,
    Peter
    Actually, it is exactly what you wanted. You can enter your name either way: via the copyright menu or with EOS Utility. The advantage of using EOS Utility is that you can copy in a pre-constructed text file. That doesn't make much difference if you're entering just your name, but the copyright notice itself can be tedious to type in on the camera menu. If you have two copyright notices (home and work) like I do, it's nice to be able to switch back and forth easily. And if you carry two or more cameras, you can use EOS Utility to synchronize their times with your computer. This ensures that when you sort the results of your shoot, everything will come out in the right chronological order.

    Thanks for the link.
    However i'm unable to see my report output.
    I did the following steps
    1.Uploaded my Report file in
    /vision/d01/oracle/visappl/per/11.5.0/reports/US/
    Since we are doing it for Oracle HR module
    2.I used the executable tab as outlined in the report
    3.I then used the define tab to register report.
    In step 2 and 3 i specified Oracle Human Resources in applications field.
    Now when i try to submit the request for my report FHSAMPLE i can find it in the list.

  • Howto register a new host via backend

    Hi together,
    Does somebody know how to do the following in a supported way via backend?
    Manual Step:+
    - logon to Oracle Applications Manager (OAM)
    - navigate to Site Map --> Hosts --> Register
    - add a new host by providing name & platform (optionally description)
    This will add a new & valid entry to FND_NODES.
    Is there any option to do the same in silent mode with a default script/tool/api via backend script?
    Need that as pre-step for a “special” cloning/refresh feature to add a new physical host for CM in an instance configured against a virtual host.
    11.5.10.2 / ATG RUP6 / 11gR2 / NON-RAC
    Thanks,
    Claudius

    Mainly I follow up "Implementing Virtual Host... on Oracle Applications 11i ATG RUP6 [ID 568115.1]"
    So far I can handle all via script except step "2.3 - Modify the setup for Concurrent Processing", where I have to add a host manually via OAM.
    Question is about doing this special step via Backend instead of Frontend.The steps under this task can be done by editing the application context file and run AutoConfig. You may also need to purge FND_NODES table and re-populate it as per the docs.

  • Rendering video to different ui ?

    I m trying to bring video control into a framework .. The native classes for ui build of that framework is different from pure Java AWT or Swing.. the framework as such doesnt support AWT or Swing.. Yet it runs on JRE and it has its own UI module.. But the getVisualComponent() method of player class returns ony java.awt.Component ... this cannot be added to my framework frame unlike v add on a AWT Frame.. When i went through the JMF source code of that getVisualComponent() method it is only declared and not defined as Player is a interface. I couldnt trace the code further as it was very complex due to hundreds of api classes related to one another.. Is there a method to solve this problem?

    You can create your own renderer.
    jobs4jmf provides two one for swing and one for jogl.
    You create and register your renderer, then it will get called with the buffer for the video. JMF provides helpers to convert to a BufferedImage, from there you can put it on your other UI (assuming it supports BufferedImages, if not you'll have to convert the buffer to your UI's image format).

  • How do you harness URL external application in a JSP?

    I have successfully deployed the Yahoo Finance sample URL External Application. However, I do not understand how to utilize the URL classes (in the pdkjava.jar) to harness the external application information once a user has authenticated. I am building a JSP portlet that displays and applet, however the applet requires a username and password. I need to get the Username and Password from external application, which it gets from the user via External Application. How do I get these values in my JSP (that is defined in my provider.xml)? I keep seeing documentation regarding the ExternalPrincipal object however I don't understand how to utilize this object in my JSP. I beleive the ExternalPrincipal object is what I need in my JSP, seeing that it has the methods for getting the user and password. Unless is there a better way of achieving this, can anyone shed some light on getting the ExternalPrincipal object for an External Application session?
    Thanks,

    Thanks for the example. I have a better understanding now, however I'm still having trying to comprehend the flow of executing in this portal model.

  • How to build custom JSF components?

    The JSF tutorials demonstrate ways to build JSF web "applications" ...
    I am interested in developing JSF web "components" ... Is there any resource that I can avail of or if it's possible for some of u to share a sample ...
    thanks much,
    keyur

    Hi Keyur,
    The tutorial does need to include a custom component example. We have been working on an example and it's just about done. We need to work out some bugs, get it working on the RI that is publicly available, and document it.
    If you need to get started in the meantime, here are some basic steps for creating a custom component:
    1. Write a tag handler class that extends javax.faces.webapp.FacesTag. In this
    class, you need:
    * a getRendererType method, which returns the name of your custom renderer, if
    you are using one (explained in step 4).
    * a createComponent method, which returns an instance of your custom component.
    * an overrideProperties method, in which you set all of the new attributes of
    your component.
    2. Create a TLD that associates the custom tag to the tag handler.
    3. Write a class that either extends a standard JSF component or extends directly from javax.faces.component.UIComponentBase.
    If a standard JSF component has most of the functionality you need, you can extend the component class that defines this component. These classes are found in the javax.faces.component package. Otherwise, extend UIComponentBase.
    4. Either create a custom renderer by extending javax.faces.render.Renderer, or include the rendering code in one of the encodeXXX methods of your custom
    component class. From the encodeXXX method, use the ResponseWriter from FacesContext to write out the markup. If what you need to render is fairly
    simple, it's easier to include the rendering code in the component class.
    5. From your ServletContextListener instance, register your Renderer to the standard RenderKit by: using RenderKitFactory to get the RenderKit, and using
    addRenderer on the RenderKit to add your new Renderer. You only need to do this if you created a Renderer in step 4.
    6. Declare your new TLD in your JSP page and use the tag in the page.
    This will all be clearer once we publish the custom component documentation. We are working on it presently and will announce its release on this forum.
    Thank you for your interest in JavaServer Faces

  • JTable.setDefaultRenderer

    HI,
    I am trying to sett up a custom renderer for my table, however am having a problem in that the renderer code is never executed. In the following code I am trying to create a custom renderer for all table elements that are of the String class, and register the renderer as such, however when executing the code, I never see the System.out.println statement that is in the renderer's getTableCellRendererComponent method. Please help. Test code is as follows:
    import java.awt.Component;
    import java.awt.event.WindowAdapter;
    import java.awt.event.WindowEvent;

  • Howto choose modbus tcp functions with dsc 8.0.1 / DSC register numbering explanation

    Hello,
    after reading in the discussion forums I still cannot solve my DSC Modbus problems.
    First I'm confused about register numbering.
    Playing around with the registers, which the multiple variable shows, give me the finally success polling values:
    Registers in device documentation: 0x0000 - 0x0007 Finally I found them on 300001-300008
    Question: Why is the leading 3 needed....?
    Sniffing with Ethereal shows me "function 4" is used for reading by Labview.
    Question : Howto use Modbus function 3 or (for writing) 5, 6, 15, 16, (read and write) 23?
    My biggest problem at the moment:
    I want to read register 0x1010 = 4112d it contain a length of process data byte in packed format. Reading ends in exception 0x8BBB0005
    Thanks in advance for an answer or just a link with similar problems

    You have different types of registers inside a controller. 3xxxxx are input registers and 4xxxxx are holding/output registers. Check out the attached pdf file.Message Edited by unclebump on 07-26-2006 02:04 PM

  • New HOWTO is available - HTML rendering

    Take a look at the following URL
    http://otn.oracle.com/products/jdev/howtos/jsp/renderers.html
    Comments and feedback are welcome.

    Some comments:
    1. the provided renderers read the properties every time becuase they are meant to be 'generic' and there are possible parameter differences between one attribute and another. You can easily hard-code the property values into the renderer implementation and 'never' look at the properties for parameters. The same applies for the dynamic renderer.
    2. The set of renderers applis to both UIX JSP and JSP. There some bugs in the UIX JSP that prevent this in 9.0.2, but they will be fixed in Jdev 9.0.3.
    3. The 'control type' is a shortcut way to select some of the default renderers. If you specify the 'Renderer' properties, they take precedence over any control types selected at design-time.
    4. A cool way to re-use renderers is to create a new domain class and setup the renderer properties at that level. You can then use tihs domain type in your entity objects. all the rendering selection will happen automatically.
    5. You can retrieve the current locale by using the ApplicationModule.getSession().getLocale() , make sure you use this method instead of the default locale since a single web application may be used by different users with different locale settings. We take the http locale information and map it into the application module's locale. If you need locale specific values, use resource bundles.
    6. I agree that we need better javadoc for the renderers, but you also have source code to the implementation. You can copy\subclass\use the current implementation to meet your application requirements.
    7. The RADIOGROUP type is an option of the PickList renderer.
    8. As far as generating your own HTML, it's as simple as overrinding the render to string method shown in the sample renderers. You can generate any content that is applicable to the attribute type.
    9. Learn how to use the oracle.jbo.AttributeDef class to figure out which type of attribute your are rendering.

  • Howto Send IDOC to third-party system. programID can not be registered.

    Hi, guys.
    I want to post IDOC to a third-party system through XI. And for sure, the third-party system can receive IDOC.
    In the receiver communication channel, I would fill in the RFC Destination with a RFC connection defined in SM59.
    In SM59, it is a tcp/ip connection and in technical settings the activation type is Registered Server Program. I name the Program ID randomly with 'a.a'. In Gateway Options, I fill the host with XI server and service with sapgw01.
    Then I test the connection, the result is program a.a not registered on XI server.
    My question is how to register the progam when I want to use this RFC to send IDOC to the third-party system. And how the RFC know which system he would connect. I don't find anyplace with the connection information such as IP or something like this.

    Sergio Cipolla
    Thank you for your material. I have read the doc you refered.
    Almost I understand the process, there is one part.
    I should register the program ID in saprfc.ini file with the following content:
    DEST=FROMXI
    TYPE=R
    GWHOST=saphost
    GWSERV=sapgateway
    PROGID=a.a
    Here I am wondering the fiield "DEST" represent for. Does it mean the hostname of the target external system?
    And Here is the UNIX system, what is the path location of the file saprfc.ini or where I should put this file to be effective.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Howto create a commandLink and param-attribute in a self written renderer?

    Hi guys,
    I'm currently trying to write a JSF-component for a content-mangement-system.
    The goal of the component is to render a HTML-page which lists all elements
    of an article (with all things like text-components, pictures, headline etc.)
    and provides a link for every article-element which referes the user to a
    special JSF-site in which the selected article-component can be edited. For
    example: the user sees the site which lists all article-elements and selects
    a "edit this text-component button" from one text component. Aftter that he
    would be forwarded to a "editTextComponent.jsf"-Site which loads the selected
    component into a managed bean. The site "editTextComponent.jsf"-Site itself
    would then provide a JSF-form which fields are binded with the managed-bean
    properties. To do this I need my own component-renderer to create a special
    "command link" with an additional parameter of the selected component ID
    (similar to the <h:commandLink />- and <h:f:param />-Tags in a normal
    JSF-site). Because I need the ID of the selcted component in the new
    JSF-site.
    Now I need to know how I can pass such a parameter in a renderer. In a
    jsf-site I would simply do something like
    <h:commandLink action="myUser.accessRequestEditTextComponent">
    <h:outputText value="articleAdminPage.editThisTextComp" />
    <h:f:param name="componentID" value="myTextComp.databaseID" />
    </h:commandLink>
    But how can I do such a thing in a JavaClass??? I already tried a thing like
    public void encodeEnd(FacesContext ctx, UIComponent comp)
    writer.write(" <form
    action=\"../articlecomponents/createnewpiccomp.jsf\" method=\"get\">");
    writer.write(" <input type=\"hidden\" name=\"position\" value=\"" +
    textComponent.getID() + "\" />");
    writer.write(" <input type=\"image\" src=\"" +
    myUIArticle.getCreateNewIcon() + " \" />");
    writer.write(" </form>");
    But this is not working and it is very ugly because the url of the new site is
    hard-coded (and not a "action"-attribute which can be used in the
    faces-config.xml for navigation), I'm not able to pick out this attribute in
    the new jsf-site and the HTML-code is also hard coded.
    Can you guys give at least a little hint, a keyword to what I shall look for?
    I have defintly no idea and I'm already a little bit despaired.
    Greetings,
    Hendrik

    Okay, Martin from the myfaces-development-team has just anwsered my question. For all of you who have the same question: such a think that I'm trying to do is done in the "writeLink"-method in the HTMLCalenderRenderer-class of the myfaces-extensions. So take a look at this for an excelent example!

  • HOWTO: Generate the sidecar file without rendering/generating video?

    I'm not sure this is even possible, but can you configure AME to generate the sidecar without building the video?
    For instance, I add my own metadata within the body of markers in Premiere projects as well as other metadata. I then have an application that exgracts this data into a proprietary XML schema, but this data is validated before further production. Sometimes there's an error and we need to go back and edit the source (within the Premiere project). Now, since this has zero impact on the actual video, just the sidecar, we were wondering if you can just update the sidecar.
    If not, not a big deal as this is a bit edge case.

    Turn off the video track eyeballs.  You'll get a black video, but it'll go much quicker and you can just delete it afterwards.
    I get my Encore chapter markers in this way.

  • PHP refuses to be rendered

    Hi,
    I've used the default PHP installation on OSX with no problems in the past (after uncommenting the 2 lines in httpd and enabling Personal Web Sharing), but after a recent reinstallation of the operating system (having re-updated all software) PHP refuses to render. HTML files render fine, but when I load up a PHP file, its source is displayed instead of being properly rendered. I like to think I know what I'm doing, but I'm befuddled :/
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Here's my httpd.conf, if it helps:
    <pre>
    ## httpd.conf -- Apache HTTP server configuration file
    # Based upon the NCSA server configuration files originally by Rob McCool.
    # This is the main Apache server configuration file. It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:<a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://">http://httpd.apache.org/docs/> for detailed information about
    # the directives.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # After this file is processed, the server will look for and process
    # /private/etc/httpd/srm.conf and then /private/etc/httpd/access.conf
    # unless you have overridden these with ResourceConfig and/or
    # AccessConfig directives here.
    # The configuration directives are grouped into three basic sections:
    # 1. Directives that control the operation of the Apache server process as a
    # whole (the 'global environment').
    # 2. Directives that define the parameters of the 'main' or 'default' server,
    # which responds to requests that aren't handled by a virtual host.
    # These directives also provide default values for the settings
    # of all virtual hosts.
    # 3. Settings for virtual hosts, which allow Web requests to be sent to
    # different IP addresses or hostnames and have them handled by the
    # same Apache server process.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do not begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/foo.log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "/usr/local/apache" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "/usr/local/apache/logs/foo.log".
    ### Section 1: Global Environment
    # The directives in this section affect the overall operation of Apache,
    # such as the number of concurrent requests it can handle or where it
    # can find its configuration files.
    # ServerType is either inetd, or standalone. Inetd mode is only supported on
    # Unix platforms.
    ServerType standalone
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # NOTE! If you intend to place this on an NFS (or otherwise network)
    # mounted filesystem then please read the LockFile documentation
    # (available at <URL:<a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://">http://www.apache.org/docs/mod/core.html#lockfile>);
    # you will save yourself a lot of trouble.
    ServerRoot "/usr"
    # The LockFile directive sets the path to the lockfile used when Apache
    # is compiled with either USEFCNTL_SERIALIZEDACCEPT or
    # USEFLOCK_SERIALIZEDACCEPT. This directive should normally be left at
    # its default value. The main reason for changing it is if the logs
    # directory is NFS mounted, since the lockfile MUST BE STORED ON A LOCAL
    # DISK. The PID of the main server process is automatically appended to
    # the filename.
    #LockFile "/private/var/run/httpd.lock"
    # PidFile: The file in which the server should record its process
    # identification number when it starts.
    PidFile "/private/var/run/httpd.pid"
    # ScoreBoardFile: File used to store internal server process information.
    # Not all architectures require this. But if yours does (you'll know because
    # this file will be created when you run Apache) then you must ensure that
    # no two invocations of Apache share the same scoreboard file.
    ScoreBoardFile "/private/var/run/httpd.scoreboard"
    # In the standard configuration, the server will process httpd.conf (this
    # file, specified by the -f command line option), srm.conf, and access.conf
    # in that order. The latter two files are now distributed empty, as it is
    # recommended that all directives be kept in a single file for simplicity.
    # The commented-out values below are the built-in defaults. You can have the
    # server ignore these files altogether by using "/dev/null" (for Unix) or
    # "nul" (for Win32) for the arguments to the directives.
    #ResourceConfig /private/etc/httpd/srm.conf
    #AccessConfig /private/etc/httpd/access.conf
    # Timeout: The number of seconds before receives and sends time out.
    Timeout 300
    # KeepAlive: Whether or not to allow persistent connections (more than
    # one request per connection). Set to "Off" to deactivate.
    KeepAlive On
    # MaxKeepAliveRequests: The maximum number of requests to allow
    # during a persistent connection. Set to 0 to allow an unlimited amount.
    # We recommend you leave this number high, for maximum performance.
    MaxKeepAliveRequests 100
    # KeepAliveTimeout: Number of seconds to wait for the next request from the
    # same client on the same connection.
    KeepAliveTimeout 15
    # Server-pool size regulation. Rather than making you guess how many
    # server processes you need, Apache dynamically adapts to the load it
    # sees --- that is, it tries to maintain enough server processes to
    # handle the current load, plus a few spare servers to handle transient
    # load spikes (e.g., multiple simultaneous requests from a single
    # Netscape browser).
    # It does this by periodically checking how many servers are waiting
    # for a request. If there are fewer than MinSpareServers, it creates
    # a new spare. If there are more than MaxSpareServers, some of the
    # spares die off. The default values are probably OK for most sites.
    MinSpareServers 5
    MaxSpareServers 10
    # Number of servers to start initially --- should be a reasonable ballpark
    # figure.
    StartServers 5
    # Limit on total number of servers running, i.e., limit on the number
    # of clients who can simultaneously connect --- if this limit is ever
    # reached, clients will be LOCKED OUT, so it should NOT BE SET TOO LOW.
    # It is intended mainly as a brake to keep a runaway server from taking
    # the system with it as it spirals down...
    MaxClients 150
    # MaxRequestsPerChild: the number of requests each child process is
    # allowed to process before the child dies. The child will exit so
    # as to avoid problems after prolonged use when Apache (and maybe the
    # libraries it uses) leak memory or other resources. On most systems, this
    # isn't really needed, but a few (such as Solaris) do have notable leaks
    # in the libraries. For these platforms, set to something like 10000
    # or so; a setting of 0 means unlimited.
    # NOTE: This value does not include keepalive requests after the initial
    # request per connection. For example, if a child process handles
    # an initial request and 10 subsequent "keptalive" requests, it
    # would only count as 1 request towards this limit.
    MaxRequestsPerChild 0

    ### Section 2: 'Main' server configuration
    # The directives in this section set up the values used by the 'main'
    # server, which responds to any requests that aren't handled by a
    # <VirtualHost> definition. These values also provide defaults for
    # any <VirtualHost> containers you may define later in the file.
    # All of these directives may appear inside <VirtualHost> containers,
    # in which case these default settings will be overridden for the
    # virtual host being defined.
    # If your ServerType directive (set earlier in the 'Global Environment'
    # section) is set to "inetd", the next few directives don't have any
    # effect since their settings are defined by the inetd configuration.
    # Skip ahead to the ServerAdmin directive.
    # Port: The port to which the standalone server listens. For
    # ports < 1023, you will need httpd to be run as root initially.

    # Please see the documentation at <URL:<a class="jive-link-external-small" href="http://">http://www.apache.org/docs/vhosts/>
    # for further details before you try to setup virtual hosts.

    # configuration.
    # Use name-based virtual hosting.
    #NameVirtualHost *:80
    # VirtualHost example:
    # Almost any Apache directive may go into a VirtualHost container.
    # The first VirtualHost section is used for requests without a known
