Howto set the language for logon screen?

Hello all,
recently I got a strange beahvior of SAP GUI.
1. we installed SAP Frontend 7.20. According to the IT, this is a universal version for all languages.
2. In the first screen, which shows a list of SAP systems, it's in German --> Correct
3. However as we doulb clicked one system, the logon screen with Client/User/Password Input fields appears in english. --> not correct.
The user language is set as German overall. That means after the successful logon, the system is again in German. But just the logon screen itself is always in english. Does someone know what setting it can be and how to fix it? many thanks in advance.

hi,
logon language is controlled at SAP server level.
parameter is login/system_language and you change that through RZ10. Ask your Basis about this.

when calling from BSP (WAS620) to our R3 using RFC the results (units, ...) are always in DE. How do the call to get the results in EN?
Language in RFC Destination/Logon&Security does not have an effect.

I am not sure whether this is a logon problem.
If you run the function module in transaction SE37 then you will get PC because there are some exits associated to it.
When you call it from "outside", then the internal value is returned to the caller.
The same happens when using BAPI from languages like Java or .Net
The material field - in particular - is well-known for this behaviour.
Hope someone else could testify because I haven't crossed the problem myself.

If you have a doubt, then set an external breakpoint in the remote system for the RFC user. Then, check the content of the <i>sy-langu</i> field.

Problems realted to changing the language for non-Unicode programs

Product Name: HP Pavilion dv6-6093ex
Product Number : LM610EA#A2N.
My Windows 7(464Bit) Ultimate, and its base language, and display language is English.
The Languages(English, French and Arabic) built-in (came re-downloaded and re-installed by the person who made the Windows disc installation). Thus, while installing Windows 7, those three lanauge listed for me to choose one of them to be the base language and display language, I have chosen 'English'. In the End of installation, there are three pre-packaged languages(English and French and Arabic) can be used as a display language.
I would like anyone kindly to confirm for me why I have been facing these problems when changing language for non-Unicode programs from English into Arabic.
First: After I have installed the AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver (sp55092) 8.882.2.3000 on my laptop. The contents of the of Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel are partially shown in Arabic while language for non-Unicode programs is Arabic, however, they are completely shown in English while language for non-Unicode programs is English.
A: I found that contents of the of Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel are partially shown in Arabic (second screen shot below, however, when click on any options, for example 'Graphics properties' shown in Arabic in, the second window is shown in English) while language for non-Unicode programs is Arabic, and it doesn't matter what format or location is.
B- when I changed language for non-Unicode programs into English.
I found that contents of the Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel are completely shown in English .
Second:
A- Only All Arabic contents will be displayed encryptely while language for non-Unicode programs is English
B- All the Arabic contents are displayed properly while language for non-Unicode programs is Arabic.
Third: an error extracting drivers and software downloaded from official HP website while language for non-Unicode programs is English.
A- I noticed an error extracting all kinds of comprised files(drivers and software) downloaded from HP website while language for non-Unicode programs is English and whatever location and format are:
B- However while language for non-Unicode programs is Arabic, there is no error extracting files.
In conclusion, Is it normal for all of you the contents of the of Intel Graphics and Media Control Panel are partially shown in your native while langauge used for non-Unicode programs is your native lanague, however, they are completely shown in English while language for non-Unicode programs is English?. IF so I would be saying that if I have wanted the contents of documents written in my language Arabic to be shown properly, then then I must let the language for non-Unicode programs be Arabic. Is this happens with you as well?
Also, if I need extracting all kinds of comprised files(drivers and software) downloaded from HP website, then language for non-Unicode programs must be in my Arabic lanague English and whatever location and format are. Is this happened with you as well?

Hi cooperator,
I saw your post regarding the language questions and I will be happy to help. What are you are experiencing with the languages is normal. The base operating system is in English and while you can change the display language the core kernal of the operating system would be in English.
The reason that the Intel Graphic and Media Control Panel is in English and the rest in Arabic is because the driver would have been designed in English and is hard coded as into the driver but the display language is set to Arabic. So when the language is set to English everything will be in English.
The reason you having issues extracting drivers when you English set at the language is because the HP website will determine where in the world you and when you download the driver it will be the appropriate language for the country you are from. So when it extracts it will look for the proper extraction path using Arabic but everything is English. It work no problem when you are on Arabic because the driver can read the path properly.

Disable language on logon screen

Hello,
is it possible to disable a language on the PeopleSoft PIA logon screen? I know I can edit the signin.html to not provide the option to change this language, but that would be incomplete since the language gets recognized automatically. For example when a time-out occurs and a user is signed out, the warning page promting the user to log back in is in the automatically selected language. How can I change this behaviour? I only want to keep ENG as the only language available. I believe this won't be configured though the PS application itself, rather I need to edit java scripts and html pages for that weblogic uses.
I'm on PeopleSoft 9.2 and PeopleTools 8.53, running Weblogic 10.3.6 I believe.

If you want to completely hide the language selections, you could try changing the styles.css stylesheet by adding display:none; to the pslanguageframe style.

I tried this on PT8.51 and it worked for the initial login screen, but you'll have to verify that it still works the same on 8.53 and that it applies to all of the other login pages.

Setting the language of the work item

Does anybody know if it is possible to set the language of the workitem in the workflow to a different language than the log on language? By adding an extra step maybe?

The language of a workitem (BOR Object WORKITEM) is set in SWWWIHEAD when the workitem is instantiated as a database attribute, so the bad news is there is no clean method to do this.
But, you can put some extra logic in the workitem description to enable different languages, even though the language attribute in the object is set to logon language of WF-BATCH user. In simple terms, you create a standard text (in SO10) for your new language texts and then put a case statement in the description. Use exactly the same method and syntax as you would for SAPScript.

Set The Language

Hi
I'm trying to develop a customized login screen.
As in the standard login screen I created images for different languages and I'm calling the wwctx_app_language.set_language procedure to set the language.
My problem is after calling the procedure and calling wwctx_api.get_nls_language I'm still getting the old value ... It doesn't change. But if the check the cookie I can see that it changes correctly.
Do I have to get the current language from the cookie instaid of using wwctx_api.get_nls_language or there issomthing.

How can I keep Firefox from changing the language for the spelling checker?

I'm using Firefox 20.0 on Fedora 17 (Xfce) fully updated. At random intervals Firefox will either set the language to some random version of English (Zambia, much of the time) until I notice and set it back or it will simply uncheck US English without selecting anything else. It also turns the spelling checker off once in a while. It's hard to say just what, if anything, triggers this because I only close Firefox for updates, and only reboot for kernel updates. Most of the time, my computer runs 24/7 and Firefox stays open sometimes, for over a month without any other issues. I found two old, closed threads on this, but neither of them had anything applicable.

There's an issue with this because Firefox looks at the page you're visiting and decides on the dictionary based on the language code. At least according to this [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=682564 bug].
I'm still looking to see if there's anything that can be done to stand on the programs neck until it cries uncle and uses EN-GB regardless. But I'm not holding my breath.

First you arrange however you want and then go to table settings which is there in the right corner of the item details and create a variant and save.
Find a button with blue yellow and white at the top end above the vertical drag bar when put the cursor it will show you as Configuration.
After creating the variant tick the check box use as standard setting below the variant

Hi Jaime,
Are you saying, you are getting junk characters in the email attachment? Then pls check the following. Since you want to send Japanese fonts, please pass language 'J' in both objpack-obj_langu = '3' & doc_chng-obj_langu = '3' instead of '3' please replace it with 'J'.
Another thing which you may have to check is the SCOT device type. As I understand from my basis colleague, this may also affect your attachment fonts since the emails are sent through SCOT. Go to transaction SCOT-> Settings-> Device types for format conversion. Check whether wrong device type is defined for Japanese there. Hope this helps

Is there anything similar in dom?
The javadocs only mentions a getDocType() for the document interface in org.w3c.dom.Node interface. Is there any way I can SET the document type (DTD) for a given document object?

How to set the language of a mail template from NotificationUtil?

Hi experts!
I've been having some issues with the Message Template Language when using the NotificationUtil to send an Email.
How do I set the language of the template?
Do i set this by the sender? Or do I need to reference the recipient?
If so, how could I get the Account Object Interface from the user given that I got him as a collaborator?
I wish you could help me out whit this language problem.

while language for non-Unicode programs is Arabic, it show Arabic, If it's none-Unicode.
This is correct. Why you think it's an issue?
About your second scenario description, I was not clear what you said. Could you give us a explanation?
Note: System display language is not the un-Unicode program language.
You can just choose one language to display the system at same time.
