HOWTO: start/stop htmldb processes in Unix
I've installed 10gR2 DB, and then installed HTMLDB from the companion CD. I could access the server no problems, so my configuration is good and working.
The issue is how do I start/stop the processes. It appears (from this forum) that Windows installs create a service but that's of course no good to me as I'm on AIX.
I'm a database guy, not an iAS guy, and it took me a while to figure out the way to make this all work.
First, set your ORACLE_HOME to the HTTP home (not the DB home).
In ORACLE_HOME/opmn/bin is the magic command:
./opmnctl startall
or
./opmnctl stopall
Seems to do the job.
That's almost right - that command will start & stop the Oracle HTTP Server (Apache). If Apache is down, then there is no way to access HTML DB via a web browser. However, users - if they had access - could still access the database, of course.
There is no such thing as the "HTML DB Process", as HTML DB is nothing more than a schema in the database.
Thanks,

System launchd agent error starting/stopping system processes
I installed PHP 5.4 via brew package manager. I kept the system Apache & configured it to work with this version of PHP rather than the system copy. I used launchctl (sudo launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/org.apache.httpd.plist) to load apache automatically on boot. I created a Sites folder for Mountain Lion and opened http://localhost/index.php and got the standard PHP 5.4 system config page showing that everything is working fine. I checked my system logs just to be sure nothing was out of the ordinary and I am seeing these errors in my log even though everything seems to be fine and I am not seeing system crashes, slow runtimes, etc:

TOTAL 179.1M1. Mae sure that the ports you have specified in the Communiation tab are not specified anywhere else, either in PCo or in another application on the PCo worstation. For testing, set either MII or Legacy and use the same port number for each, just don't chec both boxes at the same time.
The Legacy and MII port settings must be different, or you should receive an error in PCo. As Steve mentioned, a port address can only be used once by any application on a given server. Multiple PCo agents using the same port will cause a conflict as will trying to use the same port for both Legacy and MII connector for a single agent. MII 11.5 only supports the Legacy (UDC) Connector, so I suggest that you do not select the MII connector check box and leave the port setting blank. Select Legacy connector and set a port address for that connector.
To determine if a port is available to use, you can open a command prompt and use the command netstat -a -o to list all the ports which are in use. Please note, this is only active ports.
2. I think you will need to get the compatibility issue between xMII 11.5 and PCo 2.1 answered by the PCo team; I have no way of testing this.
MII 11.5 should work with PCo 2.1. Configure the PCo agent to use the Legacy connector. Create a UDC data server in MII and Pco should work like the UDS.

Howto start a bpel process by using a http-get browser request
Hi,
i need some help with the start of a bpel-process.
My process will be started by a receive-activity which comes from a http-get browser request. Then the process will redirect the request-string to a synchronous service to get back its response to process it (this service has of course a wsdl).
The initial receive-activity needs a port Type and an operation to be declared. These concrete binding declarations must be defined in a wsdl-document i think. But the browser-client has no wsdl (and doesnt need it since it is no webservice, i think). Where do i declare the operation, port Type, etc.? Is it possible that it will be declared in an extra WSDL which represents the bpel-process?
Any help would be appreciated.

How to stop and start only the process of Oracle Application Express?
I'd like to know how to stop the process of Oracle Application Express on my server installed oracle express package.
After installed Oracle Express edition, not only oracle database server processes but also Oracle Application Express, such as http server, is started automatically...
I hope to stop and start Application Express on demand but is this feature enabled?Oracle Apex is an API, if that helps you understand / visualize. You do not start Apex process nor stop it.
When an Apex session starts it starts calling the API.
You can however start / stop the listener. It may be OHS, ApexListener and the J2EE container running it, OC4J or any other "server" that you are using.
The built-in EPG is something like an API again, you cannot start / stop it but you can disable/enable it with DBMS_XDB.SETHTTPPORT API.

It seems there is a clash of resources.There are rogue httpd processes left whenever OHS starts/restarts.File httpd.pid contains root httpd process and with the help of scoreboard file its communicated to child httpd processes.
1.check OPMN LOGS.
2.shutdown all process (OPMN infact)
3.pkill or kill -9 httpd
4.go to $ORACLE_HOME/opmn/logs/states and delete all files.
5.check no other HTTP server ports are being used by other processes.(restarting the server is better idea !).
6.CHECK ons.conf IF ANY ENTRIES ARE MISSING / MODIFIED - V IMP
6.Start OPMN and HTTP Server.

When starting to install they stop the process and say "encountered many problems try re installing" and system not modified
Try this:
1. Boot from your Panther Installer Disk. After the installer loads select Disk Utility from the Installer menu.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Set the number of partitions from the dropdown menu (use 1 partition unless you wish to make more.) Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled, if supported.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the volume(s) mount on the Desktop.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled, if supported.) Click on the Options button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process will take 30 minutes to an hour or more depending upon the drive size.
7. Once the formatting has completed quit DU to return to the installer. Proceed with the installation of Panther. -
Batch / script file to start /stop sap server
Hi,
I would like to start/stop SAP server using batch file (in windows). I need this, whenever we have to shutdown the server and restart of the server, so that SAP will automatically shutdown and restart using batch files while server restart cases? If anyone knows, please let me know. Thanks,
Regards,
Sundar.target of the 700 sapstartsrv improvement was to deliver identical functionality on all SAP platforms. As the DCOM programing model is only available on Windows platforms sapstartsrv.exe was enhanced by the WEB-Service interface and is available now on Unix too.
The DCOM SAPControl interface of sapstartsrv.exe is still existing, but only on Windows. Here you can use VB Script or any other programming language able to handle DCOM objects to write your own programs / scripts to interact with the SAPControl.
sapcontrol.exe is a command line program available since 700 which enables you control over nearly all functions of the sapstart service.
Even it has the same name as the DCOM interface it' something completly different.

Peter

Start/Stop Weblogic Admin Server
Hello,
I have installed Forms 11g in my home Pc, so is it possible to Start/Stop Weblogic Admin Server and the Dos window that appears, not to ask me about username and password?
I mean like a bat file (script), to enter the username and password in a text file
if yes, also the same in WLS_FORMS?
Thank you.Starting an Administration Server with a Startup Script
An Administration Server is a WebLogic Server instance that maintains configuration data for a domain. In a development environment, it is usually sufficient to start an Administration Server and deploy your applications directly onto the Administration Server. In a production environment, you create Managed Servers to run applications. For more information about Administration Servers and Managed Servers, see "Understanding WebLogic Server Domains" in Understanding Domain Configuration for Oracle WebLogic Server.
You can start an Administration Server with a default startup script or create your own. To start an Administration Server with the WebLogic Server-included startup script:
If you have not already done so, use the Configuration Wizard or WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST) to create a domain.
See Creating Domains Using the Configuration Wizard or "Creating Domains Using WLST Offline" in Oracle WebLogic Scripting Tool.
Open a shell (command prompt) on the computer on which you created the domain.
Change to the directory in which you located the domain.
By default, this directory is MW_HOME\user_projects\domains\DOMAIN_NAME, where DOMAIN_NAME is the root directory of the domain. (The name of this directory is the name of the domain.)
Run one of the following scripts:
bin/startWebLogic.cmd (Windows)
bin\startWebLogic.sh (UNIX and Windows. On Windows, this script supports the MKS and Cygnus BASH UNIX shell emulators.)
Note:
If you use a Configuration Wizard template that is provided by WebLogic Server, your domain directory includes a start script named startWebLogic. If you use a domain template from another source, the wizard might not create a start script, or it might create a script with a different name. The template designer determines whether the wizard creates a start script and the name of the script.
The startWebLogic script does the following:
Sets environment variables by invoking DOMAIN_NAME\bin\setDomainEnv.cmd (setDomainEnv.sh on UNIX), where DOMAIN_NAME is the directory in which you located the domain; for example, WL_HOME\user_projects\domains\DOMAIN_NAME, and where WL_HOME is the location in which you installed WebLogic Server.
Invokes the java weblogic.Server command, which starts a JVM that is configured to run a WebLogic Server instance.
When the server successfully completes its startup process, it writes the following message to standard out (which, by default, is the command window):
<Notice> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000360> <Server started in RUNNING mode>
Starting an Administration Server from the Windows Start Menu
When you create an Administration Server on a Windows computer, the Configuration Wizard creates a shortcut on the Start Menu for starting the server (User Projects > DOMAIN_NAME > Start Admin Server for WebLogic Server Domain).
The command that the Configuration Wizard adds to the Start menu opens a command window and calls the startup script that is described in Starting an Administration Server with a Startup Script. When the server has successfully completed its startup process, it writes the following message to standard out (which, by default, is the command window):
<Notice> <WebLogicServer> <BEA-000360> <Server started in RUNNING mode>

Starting/stopping mobile server
Hi
This is a two part question dealing with the starting and stopping of mobile server...
To start the mobile server via win cmd line, I use java -jar oc4j.jar. How should I stop the server in this scenario? I have been using cntr-C in the dos window, I'm hoping there's a better way, but I haven't found any mention of it in the docs.
Secondly, when I install the windows service to start/stop mobile server, I am not able to login to the mobile server's administrative console - does anyone know the reason for this?
Thanks,
TimIn recent windows xp systems there is a command line tool named "kill" or something like that, to kill the process like unix systems (kill pid).
Also, killing the java process with ctrl/alt/suppr or using tools like process explorer (sysinternals) can achieve this.
For the second problem, also check if you have installed the repository in a back-end database (SYSTEM's password needed while installing mobile server). If you did not install the repository in back-end database this could also be the problem, I think. -

RalphHi,
Few comments here...
1) Seems your environment is not setup correctly but that is not the big cause here.....
2) This one is important, it seems that you installed weblogic using a different account and are trying to run it from a different account.
So the account with which you are trying to run weblogic does not have proper permission on
MW_HOME\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\config\fmwconfig\bootstrap\cwallet.sso
Right click on the file and go in properties ..
Enable full control,modify,Read and execute,read and write permissions for the user you are trying to start weblogic and apply it.
if this simple steps doesnt work, please enable more logging by adding "-Djava.security.debug=jpspolicy" to startup option and grab more details.
Good Luck let me know if this works. -

How to start a particular database in unix/linux
Hi,
Could any one tell me how to start a particular database in Unix/Linux assuming that my server consists of 10 databases.
Can we use LSNRCTL tool for this??

Nagarjun.> Could any one tell me how to start a particular database in Unix/Linux

There is something very wrong in basic understanding of Oracle RDBMS architecture, when running 10 Oracle instances on a single server.
10x temp space. 10x redo space. 10x SGA. 10x system processes footprint. This is NOT how one scales Oracle and NOT how one uses Oracle optimally. -
Creating a Business Service for Start/Stop Application Service in CCB 2.3.1
Hi,
I'm in the process of creating a BPA script that invokes a Business Service to perform a Start/Stop for a given Account ID/Premise ID combination. The Business Service is using the base Application Service: Start Stop (CILCSSEP). I am moving the Account ID and Premise ID, along with the start date and requested by fields to the data area of the Business Service, prior to invoking it. When I invoke the Business Service via the BPA script, it throws the below error message... I'm at a loss because the BILL_ADDR_SRCE_FLG is being set to a default of "PREM" on the Business Service Schema:
A Bill Address Source is required on the address override record. Please enter a valid value.
One of these two is true:
1) The Bill Route Type on this record has a Bill Routing Method of 'Postall', or
2) The main customer on the Account has a Quote Route Type with a Quote Routing Method of 'Postal'.
In either case, the Bill Address Source must be populated with a valid value.
If you need support please supply the following info to system support:
Message number: 3, 59204
Business Service: CMSTARTSERVICE
Application Service: CILCSSEP
Schema:
<schema pageAction="fastChange">
<accountId mapField="ACCT_ID"/>
<df mapField="DEFAULT_FOR_FLG"/>
<startDate mapField="STRT_START_DT"/>
<startOption mapField="STRT_TYPE_FLG"/>
<premiseId mapField="STRT_PREM_ID"/>
<premAddress mapField="ADDRESS1"/>
<premCity mapField="CITY"/>
<startCisDiv mapField="STRT_CIS_DIVISION"/>

<bldStrtSaSw mapField="BUILD_START_SA_SW" default="true"/>

<mainCustPerId mapField="MAIN_CUST_PER_ID"/>
<billFrmtFlg mapField="BILL_RTE_TYPE_CD" default="POSTAL" private="true"/>
<billAddrSrcFlg mapField="BILL_ADDR_SRCE_FLG" default="PREM"/>
<billAddrSrcFlg2 mapField="BILL_ADDR_SRCE_FLG2" default="PREM"/>
<startStopTelephoneOverride type="list" mapList="OVRD_PHONE">
<accountId mapField="ACCT_ID"/>

<phone mapField="PHONE"/>
<extension mapField="EXTENSION"/>
<version mapField="VERSION"/>
</startStopTelephoneOverride>
<startBtn mapField="ACTION_START_SW" default="true" private="true"/>
</schema>
I'm running CC&B 2.3.1 - Any help in pointing me in the right direction to get this working would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!
Regards,
JackHi,
Can you try and do this transaction online and see if the error occurs as well? If so run it with traces on and check for the details just before the error is thrown. ( you can also switch on debug via the service call, but it may be easier to debug when doing this online. ) I am predicting this error will occur also when you do it online.
When you are using an Account with its main Person set up with BILL_ADDR_SRC_FLG as PREM you will need a valide PREM_ID on the CI_ACCT record for MAILING_PREM_ID and the premise needs to have a switch set to YES indicating it is a Mailing Address type Premise.
Good luck

HOW TO STOP THE PROCESS CHAIN WHICH IS RUNNING IN THE PRODUCTION?
HI ALL,
CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO STOP THE PROCESS CHAIN WHICH IS RUNNING DAILY AT 5.00 PM. I NEED TO STOP THE PROCESS CHAIN FOR COUPLE OF DAYS AND THEN RESTART IT AGAIN.
cAN ANYONE TELL ME THE PROCEDURE TO STOP THE ENTIRE PROCESS CHAIN RUNNING IN THE PRODUCTION.
THANKS
HARITHAHi,
First and foremost let me advice you to be very careful while doing this.
For Rescheduling
RSPC> chain > Goto > Planning view and
click on Execution tab > select > Remove from Schedule and then in Maintain variant of start process reschedule for the day you require it to run.
For terminating active chain
You can start from SM37, find the process WID/PID then go to SM50 or SM51 and kill it. Once its done come back to RSMO and check the request, it should be red but again manually force to red and save by clicking on the total status button in the status tab. This shuld ensure that the process is killed properly.
The next step will be to go to targets that you were loading and remove the red requests from those targets.
Note: For source system loads you may have to check if the request is running in the source system and kill if needed and pull it again.
But for BW datamart delta loads u may have reset the datamarts in case u are going to pull the delta again.
