HOWTOs to setup VoIP don't work on my N81
Hello,
I have a Nokia N81 and I want to setup SIP on it, using my VoipBuster account.
I've successfully configured this account a thousand times on different systems, but it seems impossible to get it to work with my Nokia phone, even after following the HOWTOs everybody reported to work with their phones:
http://www.poromenos.org/node/74
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies-archive.cfm/751303.html
I am 200% sure that I've entered the details correctly and added the relevant profile in "Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Internet Tel.", but when I go to "Tools -> Connectivity -> Internet Tel.", select my home network and try to connect, I get this error message: "Unable to connect to the connection network". And if I try to call a number via "Internet call", I get "Internet telephone service not available".
What may be going wrong? Does this /smartphone/ store error logs like operating systems do (they may help to find the problem)?
The other weird thing I've noticed is that the phone *always* overrides "Transport Type" to "Auto" in both the proxy and registrar sections. I've tried many times to set it to UDP, but it always sets it to "Auto".
Just in case: I can use this account with the software I have installed on my computer (from the same network) and my Nokia phone has no problem to access the Internet via my home network.
Thanks in advance.

Email Setup Application Does Not Work After Update
I seem to be having the same problem as others with the email setup application.
When I updated my Blackberry to the new OS6, I went to my email setup and it said "looking for updates"
It finds a new update from my already installed email setup app 6.0.0 to the new 6.11.0419.0755.
When I click "download" it says replace existing version? I click "yes"
The it says: "com.rim.bis.client" contains a different version of module "net_rim_bis_client" which is also used by email setup application. If you proceed, "email setup application" may cease to function properly. proceed?
If I click "yes proceed" it crashes my blackberry and it will not reboot and I have to do a complete hard reboot, wipe the device and reload everything from my backup on blackberry desktop.
If I click "no" not to proceed, I cannot open the email setup application.
I have tried downgrading to version 5 of the OS, I have rebooted with a battery pull, crashed my blackberry twice and spent hours reloading all my applications and systems. I am at the end of my rope, and I don't know what else to do?!
If there was a way to turn off the automatic search for updates on my device under the setup and email settings, i think I would be able to set it up in the older version 6.0.0
HELP.yep same problem here
i had this problem and got a replacement handset.
i have had to do an update and got the same issue yet again.
The funny thing is, is when i got my new handset i had to run the email setup application and it worked fine.
now its failed and i have to boot in safe mode and wipe etc.
Will someone sort this out???!! O2, Blackberry whoever. Shambles! -
Hi
I think i have the same problem that most the Mac users have had after upgrade from Mavericks to Yosemite (10.10.3) and are connected to internet by wifi.
This new version don´t work fine, or in any way, with any internet browser (Safari, Mozilla, Crome...) when the connection it´s by WiFi. In fact i´m writing this with a ethernet cat 5e connection.
I read in other thread that version 10.10.3 solved this problem but at least in my case it's not true.
And like other users as i read, in some normal actions, like open "System Preferences", appears the wheel round and round during two o three seconds, when with Maverick don´t happens. Probably this last problem it´s a question of RAM memory, but nothing in the upgrade said that you need more that 8 GB to work with normality like before.
Below this you have the Etrecheck report.
Thanks in advance and greetings from Madrid

Harddisk not found by Windows-XP-Setup + RnR does not work at all !?!
Hi all,
I wanted to recover a my system (R61, 8943-DKG) using RnR from the Windows XP-platform. It took more than 24 hours and "finished" with a reboot saying "windows could not be startet, as the following file is missing or has been damaged: \windows\system32\c_1252.nls. You may try to repair the file by starting the Windows setup from the original CD. Use the "R"-Option to start the setup-repairing" (this is my translation of the german message I got, the exact english wording thus might be different).
Two problems occur and leave me with no options/ideas at the moment:
1) Starting the "R"-Option or the "install new"-option of a windows setup from an XP-CD (from another machine, the ThinkPad came without any CDs/DVDs), gives me the message "no harddisk could be found". In the BIOS the harddisk is found an the hardware check passed.
2) Pushing the blue Thinkvantagebutton while booting starts the Rescue and Recovery software, but after "configuring your system" the laptops reboots, so no chance to start RnR !?!
My questions to the honoured community:
a) Is there any chance to make the harddisk "visible" for the XP-Setupprogram?
b) Do you have another idea how to start the RnR-software in order to at least reinstall windows-XP freshly from the harddisk?
Thanks in advance for any help!
JoerchS.Hi JoerchS,
1. You need to go into BIOS and set 'SATA AHCI' mode to 'Compatibility' under hard disk drive option for your HDD to be seen by Win XP CD.
2. Sounds like the partition has become corrupt. To recover you system again, recovery discs are needed. If you have not created recovery discs in advance [http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-70804] then you will have to obtain them from lenovo usually for a fee.
Hope it helps.

[Solved]Keyboard layout screwed up and some keys don't work
After I reinstalled xorg-server 1.5.3-1 and installed xf86-input-evdev 2.0.1-1 and xf86-input-keyboard 1.3.1-1 some of my keys don't work and keyboard layout screwed up. I had finnish (fi) layout, but now it's "us". Arrows, insert- delete- home- end- pg up- pg down- print screen- scroll lock- pause- keys don't work. All characters behind Alt Gr + "" don't work either.
How to fix this?

[SOLVED] Poweroff, suspend and hibernate don't work
I installed Archlinux on my work desktop on Monday and can't get poweroff, suspend and hibernate to work. The command `systemctl poweroff` sort of works, except it doesn't actually turn off the computer. Suspend and hibernate don't work at all, the computer hangs on the terminal with a cursor on the top left corner of the screen. Here is the log from `journalctl`. There doesn't seem to be any error messages in it, as far as I can see.

This is a new install from Monday, so I didn't update the kernel. Poweroff, suspend and hibernate have never worked. The requested output:

Thinkpad t42 mouse and keyboard don't work after factory reset
I get to the system preperation tool 2.0 but i cant click or select anything . Same thing happens if i turn the machine on and go into safe mode - the keyboard works to select safe mode but when I get to safe mode they both don't work. they both work if i go into the IBM recovery menu.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
DK
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi DK,
If you are using the Rescue and Recovery to reload Windows, you should never see the "SysPrep 2.0" appear. Are you using the orignal recovery CDs to reload windows or booting from the F11 partition? To fix this problem, I would simply start the process of reinstalling Windows again.
Go to this website and follow the guide for Using Rescue and Recovery to Recover your OS
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-70803
If you are still seeing the "System Preparation Tool 2.0" after reloading Windows, do the following:
Step 1: Under the "Options" box, make sure the following are checked:
"Don't reset grace period for activation"
"Use Mini-Setup
"Don't regenerate security identifiers"
Step 2: In the drop down menu for "Shutdown mode", change this setting to "Quit"
Step 3: Click the "Reseal" button
This should resolve your issue. Be sure to reload the OS using R&R FIRST before doing the above steps.

Mark

Start and Start apps don't work after System Restore
Hey guys, I tried to install Andy (Android emulator) on my PC today and I had to reboot after the setup was complete. This time when booting up, my computer froze before login screen. I've restarted the computer several times, but no login screen.
So I used System Restore to restore my system (refresh point is 2 days old) and voila, everything works like it should...
Except for Start menu, Cortana & search bar and notifications. Restarting explorer.exe didn't fix the problem. Even Start menu apps like Music or Store don't work... Only way to open the Settings app is to click on my network connection icon. Help please!
I'm using build 9926..............So I used System Restore to restore my system (refresh point is 2 days old)...............
It is possible that you are missing the updates that were installed in that 2 days. You rolled back 2 days, now you need to reinstall those updates.
If you cannot use Start Menu, please follow this instruction given by Insider Hub......
Checking for updates may fix this problem. To check for updates without the Start menu, do the following:
Select the Internet Explorer icon.
Type http://update.microsoft.com into the address bar and select
Enter.
If you are prompted to run a control, click
Yes or Confirm
This should bring up the Check for updates window. Install updates.
If no update is available, or the available updates don’t fix the issue, restart the device–this should make the Start menu appear. To reboot without using the Start menu:
Hold down the Windows key and select L to lock the device. Swipe up or select
Enter to open the sign in screen. Select the
Power icon on the log in screen to restart the computer.
OR
Hold down the Windows key and select R to bring up a command prompt. In the prompt, type
shutdown –r to restart
Good luck. -
Z77A-GD65 - fast ram and Intel Rapid Start don't work together??
Greetings.
I have got 2x4Gbyte G.Skill CL10 2400Mhz ram. When running this ram at its default speed at 2400Mhz, Intel Rapid Start don't work. When I shut it down, it acts normal until the point where the system "wakes up" for a few seconds to write to the special partition for IRS. The PC then try to reboot, but after 2 attemps it says that the Overclocking has failed and I have the choise of F1 (setup) or F2 (load default settings and continue).
If I lower the ram speed below the default speed (i.e. don't use the XMP profile), then Intel Rapid Start works fine.
Memtest86 do not show any error at all after 4 pass with the G.Skill at 2400Mhz. To me it seems like the motherboard can't handle this speed at the state in Intel Rapid Start.
Anybody with info about what to do?Quote from: RemusM on 16-January-14, 00:14:15
The internet is bloated with paid "reviews" ...
Here is what you have and what you paid for:
http://ark.intel.com/products/65520
Max Memory Size (dependent on memory type) : 32 GB
Memory Types : DDR3-1333/1600
Memory Channels : 2
Max Memory Bandwidth : 25.6 GB/s
Intel does not guarantee anything above 1600MHz.
On the top of that, 25.6 GB/s bandwidth is enough for DDR3-1600 in dual-channel only.
In other words, above 1600Mhz the perfomances boost is close to ZERO.
RAM speed over 1600Mhz does nothing? That WAS true, but not anymore. First of this:
Anandtech:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6372/memory-performance-16gb-ddr31333-to-ddr32400-on-ivy-bridge-igp-with-gskill
xbitlabs:
http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/memory/display/ivy-bridge-ddr3.html
overclock.net:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1438222/battlefield-4-ram-memory-benchmark
Second, I can messure a real performance difference when using this memory at 2400mhz vs 1600mhz, f.i. Winrar5.01 x64, when searching in reg.database, and other memoryhungry programs. My graphic-card is not powerfull enough to show any difference in games, but almost anything else I _can_ se a difference.
If you honestly can read these 3 links and still say, that memory speed does not matter, I think I know more about this than you
I'm quite sure, that a big place like Anandtech is not payed to show up this result. -

Hyperlinks to folder locations don't work
Hello,
I'm having trouble creating functioning hyperlinks to folder locations on local or network drives. I've tried this both in InDesign CS3 and InDesign CS1 on Windows XP.
I select the text, create new hyperlink, choose 'URL' as Type, then paste the filepath into the URL box (e.g. D:\). If my text tool is within the hyperlink text of the InDesign document, then I click on 'Go to hyperlink destination', it will open a new Windows Explorer window with the correct destination. If I export to PDF, however (making sure to check 'Bookmarks' and 'Hyperlinks' to be included), these hyperlinks to local or network drives don't work. I get errors like 'Cannot find 'd:%5C'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct'.
The other hyperlinks to web addresses seem to work fine. Does anybody have ideas on this?I should have read that more closely.
It doesn't seem to apply. The only reason that would matter is if you were running the SWF-output from Captivate locally.
ALWAYS test your product from the web to avoid any such security issues.
But yes, if you're putting the published file on a local/network drive, then that security change will need to be applied and, yes, for every computer that accesses the file.
You definitely want to distribute from an HTTP location.
I did hope the first part of that article would help. They're not difficult to setup once you find the option. Just highlight some text and right-click to setup the hyperlink...right? -

I have done some Google searching and tried all the suggestions.
Ran all windows updates. Uninstalled Office 2010. Burned the ISO to CD and tried.
2013 has never been on my computer before as far as im aware. I had someone else try in the office on their laptop with the same results....
Any thoughts?

Breadcumbs don't work online: '404 - File or directory not found'
Breadcrumbs all work fine when testing my AirHelp application offline on my Windows 7 pc, (or if I access it as online browser based help). However, when I try to test the online Airhelp most of the breadcrumbs return a '404 - File or directory not found' error.
My RoboHelp Project has been created as follows:
1. There is a homepage created inside of RoboHelp
2. Then I have linked a number of framemaker books, for each of which the FM table of contents is being converted to create a new associated TOC.
3. In the master TOC I have added a New TOC Book for each framemaker book (making it a book with a link to a htm), under the New TOC Book I have inserted a TOC placeholder for the appropriate associated TOC.
When the Online AirHelp version is run, the breadcrumbs can only be used to navigate to the homepage and to the New TOC Books at the level immediately beneath the home page. The links to these pages seem to make sense, being of the form:
Breadcrumb
Link
Home
event:homepage.htm
Home/User Guide
event:../../../User_Guide.htm
Where it goes wrong is for the breadcrumbs futher down the path which have links similar to those shown below:
Breadcrumb
Link
Home/User Guide/Introduction
event:introduction.htm
Home/Handbook/Sign_Conventions
event:Sign_Conventions.htm
In both of the above the URL request that is being passed to the online server is not the full path, (it seems to be a relative path?) Is this the reason why the breadcrumbs don't work, and if so can you suggest what I need to do to get them working?
I am up against a deadline, and at the moment the only way forward I have is to abandon the converted Framemaker TOCs and have RoboHelp autocreate a TOC for the whole project for me, however this is not a practical solution because the folder structure is not the same when I do this and would require a great deal of manual editing each time it is rebuilt.
Hoping somebody out there can please assist?
Thanks.Thanks TP,
I have many public IP's available. Do I need to install the RD Web access role on the DMZ server that has the RD Gateway role even if i have spare public IP's available?
I've basically have this setup "3.1. RD Gateway without AD DS in perimeter network deployment:"
On the below link
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2009/07/31/rd-gateway-deployment-in-a-perimeter-network-firewall-rules.aspx
currently there's an CNAME record in DNS for remote.external.com which points to Server3.internal.pri
which holds the RD
Connection Broker, RD Licensing and RD Web Access roles
Are you saying to create an A record and point it to Server3.internal.pri
internal IP? I'm not getting certificate errors (yet) so do i have to run the script? i ask this as the error message i'm getting (404 - File or directory not found) doesn't seem to be related to certificates, i'm making changes to a production environment
so i have to be extra carefull!
Cheers! -
Setup & Help buttons stopped working
I recently upgraded wireless network from WEP to WPA. Lost wireless connectivity to 3310 All-in-One, and now Setup & Help buttons don't work so I can't connect to new network. What happened? Is there a way to setup new network without accessing Setup menu on device?
Get the latest software for your printer from the "Support & Drivers" link at the top of this page. Run the software, making sure there is no USB cable attached. Choose "Network" or "Wireless" connection type when it asks. Plug in a USB cable (temporarily) when it asks.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.
