Just installed Adobe X.  What are the optimal settings to print using an HP 1055cm plus printer with 36" roll paper to print architectual drawings?

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus printing issues

I have been having two new issues suddenly (within the past 2 weeks) with my HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus. I am trying to print from my iMac 27 inch running OS.X 10.8.4 Both the mac and the printer are connected to a wireless network via an Xfinity Wireless Gateway. I have just replaced the ink cartridges in the printer but am unable to print black & white. In fact everything is comming out kinda pink. I have posted on HP's support site and was told to
    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
    Restart your Mac.
    Reset the printing system:
    - Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
    - Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
Having done that initially my problem was solved. But now I'm having the problem again. I went through the above steps again, but still not able to print. Are there any suggestions for a fix. Is anyone else seen this issue? Is there a particular printer manufacturer that works well with Apple. Because at this point I have a large paperweight that is of no use to me!

The fact that it was solved and then came back points to some (unknown) issue with your Mac's software.
Try these generic fixes first (and then do the reset printing system and re-add again):

  • OJ Pro 8600 Plus Printing issues

On this for hours and hours, never had so many issues with setting up a printer.  I am dizzy.  Have a few laptops (macbook Air, Pro) and hardwired Mac Pro (intel) and (PPC).  All OSes are 10.95 (except the PPC which is 10.5.8).  Router is DLink, and a dumb Hub - Netgear.  I assumed that simply connecting the 8600 via ethernet directly to the router, and setting a static IP 192.168.0.100 would be easy.  All seemed OK, as all the computers could access the printer via the brower.  Set-up in Printer/Scanner - System Prefs, went without a problem.  Recognized it just fine.  After a few tries of not printing, I noticed that the set-up DEFAULTS to Airprint driver (version 2.0), so I CHANGED to the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Driver (version 4.1).
On one laptop, it prints.  On another laptop it does not.  On the Mac Pro it does not.  When printing it locates the printer, spools and states 100% complete.  Over the hours, sometimes it sticks with the 100% complete.  Just now that message disappeared - but in all cases it does not print.  I have been able to get each of the computers to print at various times, but never more than 1.  I think I have it, then try another computer, and it does not work.  I have unplugged the router, unpluged the printer, waited the 20-30 seconds (how stupid is this) a half dozen times.  I have re-started each of the computers as well a few times here and there.  I have re-set the Mac OSX printer System (in the sys prefs - Control + Select PRinter) a few times.  Of course been on the forum and finally gave up.
Maybe the 8600 doesn't like the static IP, so I re-did the whole lot with the wireless set-up.  Unplugged the ethernet from the 8600.  Made all the changes with the 8600, logged on to my wireless.  All OK, but still the same issues.  Turned off the router, off the printer, then on the router, printer and computers.  Still problems.  I say "all OK" because I can connect to the printer though the browser.  I can printer a test page though the browser.  In the OSX pref I can select and add the printer quickly.  I can see the ink status in printer window.  The CONNECTION IS THERE.
I live on the 9th floor of an apartment complex.  Would someone care to help before this worthless piece OS falls out the window.  Thanks

    Hello MrConfetti,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
    That is a very informative post, no one could ask for a better explanation of an issue. After reading, my thoughts / concerns are;
    The Router and Hub
    The apartment complex
Even though the computer can see the printer on the network, and you can access the printer via the I.P address in your browser, I believe the Hub is blocking the full communication. In order to test this, simply unplug the the hub, power off the computers and printer, then back on, try printing upon start up.
Regarding the apartment complex, there is probably MANY other wireless signals. These other wireless signals, if using the same Channel you are, can be causing information to be block. Print out a Network Configuration Page from the printer. On the report, review the other network's channels. Change your router's channel to one not used, or less used.
Network Config Page is printed by touching the Wireless icon> Settings.
Lastly, If the above thoughts / suggestions fail to provide a working connection, try using the printers Wireless Direct. I only offer this idea as a means of troubleshooting. The printer can have up to 5 connections to it's Wireless Direct. Connect each computer, add the printer, try to print.
Wireless Direct is enabled by touching the Wireless icon> Settings> Wireless Direct.
I hope to hear back with good news.

  • Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printing issues with Mavericks 10.9

The printer stopped printing (the print queue said printer not connected), so I unplugged the printer (an HP suggestion) for 15 seconds, replugged and it printed the doc in the queue. Printed a few docs for about 5 minutes, then the same not connected message as before.
Repeated steps, repeated results. Tried 3 times and can't figure it out. At least I can print when necessary, but unplugging every time is annoying.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi,
Try unplugging your router for a moment, allow it 2-3 minutes to restart and reboot your printer, then check for any difference.
If the same persists, have it worked with the same router in the past? may you changed any network settings, replaced a router or may upgraded its firmware lately?
Say thanks by clicking the Kudos thumb up in the post.

  • HP ENVY 100 D410 Printing issues...

I have an HP ENVY 100 that has recently started having printing issues.  We recently upgraded to Mountain Lion and had no problems in the upgrade nor have we had any other software that we've changed.  The problem seems to be somewhat random and the results are always the same.  When commanded to print the printer acts as if it is running out of ink and then distorts the fonts creating vertical lines on the page and skipping rows creating what almost looks like a bar code. It's most peculiar and the only way I can find to solve the issue is to completely restart both my system and the printer.  Thinking that I had a driver issue on my Mac I used the utility on the printer to update drivers and none were found.  To insure that the problems wasn't isolated to just my machine I tried our laptop as well and it seems to have the same problem.  Has anyone had a similar problem?

    Hi Talon,
That more liekly related to the software indeed, I would suggest trying the following steps:
Reset the printing system as listed below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c01371980
Open the Applications folder, then Hewlett-Packard and then open the Device Utilities folder, launch the HP Setup Asisistant and follow the steps to reconfigure the device.
If there is no Hewlett-Packard folder simply re-add the printer by clicking the plus button under Print & Scan.
Now try printing and follow for any difference.
If the same persists uninstall any HP Software by following the HP Uninstaller under the Hewlett-Packard folder.
If there is no Hewlett-Packard folder follow the steps listed under Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, and 10.8 > I used Apple Software Updates to install the product software below:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02440673&tmp_task=useCatego ry&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&lc=en&product=5157536#N1305
Download and isntall the latest Lion Software below:

Once completing the installation click the Apple icon and install any available Software Update.

  • HP LASERJET 1020 PLUS PRINTER PRINTING PROBLEM

    HI.
I AM RAJA PAUL FROM INDIA, I HAVE A HP LASERJET 1020 PLUS PRINTER , NOW A DAYS   I AM FACE ING A PROBLEM , WHEN I AM GOING TO PRINT FROM THIS PRINTER , EVERY TIME PRITING LETEER SHOW  Distorted characters. WHAT I DO?

    Hi @rajahp ,
I see by your post that the printer is printing distorted characters. Thanks for providing the screen shot. I can help you.
It looks like a issue with the toner or possible a hardware issue with the printer or fuser.
Inspect the toner cartridge for damage:
    1. Remove the toner cartridge from the product and verify that the sealing tape has been removed.
    2. Check the memory chip for damage.
    3. Examine the surface of the imaging drum on the bottom of the toner cartridge.
CAUTION: Do not touch the roller (imaging drum) on the bottom of the cartridge.
Fingerprints on the imaging drum can cause print-quality problems.
    4. If you see any scratches, fingerprints, toner on the drum or other damage on the imaging drum, replace the toner.
    5. If the imaging drum does not appear to be damaged, rock the toner cartridge gently several times and reinstall it. Print a few pages to see if the problem has resolved.
I have provided a document for cleaning inside the printer and running a cleaning page, resetting the printer and checking the driver settings. Resolving Print Quality Issues.
    Try printing a document again.
    Let me know the results.
What kind of paper are you using?
Try another type of paper to see if you have the same results.
Are you using Genuine HP Toner?
    What is the toner level?
    Have a nice day!

  • My HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer will not recognize my wireless router passwrd

My printer was working fine but when I turned it on today it wouldn't connect to my wireless router. I try inputing the correct password and the printer gives me this message......"the WPA security passphrase configured on your HP printer does not match your wireless router setting" .
I have entered the password several times and I know what I have entered is correct

    Hi @Southglen,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer will not recognize your wireless router password. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help!
I would recommend to go through this guide, How to Find the WEP or WPA Key or Password for Your Wireless Network, just to double-check your wireless password, in case it might have changed.
I would also suggest a hard reset, by going to this post How to perform a Hard Reset, by @Rich1.
After those two steps, I would suggest a firmware update, Getting Printer Updates for HP Officejet Pro 8600 (N911), Officejet 6600 (H711) and Officejet 6700 P....
Let's start with these steps, and we will go from there!

  • Printing issue with Electronic Signatures

In the footer of my document, i place document properties and also use the captioning feature for tables and figures. I have saved it in native 2010 format not in a compatability mode.
When I print my document (paper or PDF) these fields print properly.
After I electronically sign the document and look at the document on the screen, the fields and caption numbers (Table 1-1: Intended Audience) appear correctly. When I print to PDF or paper, the numbers disappear (Table 1-: Intended Audience) and they
    also disappear from the screen.
When I close the document and reopen it, the fields are correct. It only changes after the document prints.
Using Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 Version 14.0.6023.1000 (32-bit).
    (--merging--)
The original document was a 2007 document opened/stored in the 2010 format.
Reproduced with new 2010 document simply by creating two properties:
    Template Version - Test - Value 1.0
    Template Date - Date - Value 1/25/2012
    And doing the following:
Using the default Normal template with calibri as the font
Added a heading level 1 to the document
Added a 2x2 table with Insert Caption including the chapter number based on heading 1 below the table
Added the template version and template date as two lines on the page
    Inserted a signature line
Created a footer with the template version, page number aligned center (via tab), template date alighted right (via tab)
Printed without signing and all data was present (Table 0-1: Test)
Signed the document and printed. The following was missing:
The template date in the footer.
The table label was Table 0-: Test
The template date was present in the middle of the document

    Hi,
Is this problem only affect Word program with Electronic Signatures?
Please try to test Printing with different printer drivers.
If the Word printing problem occurs only when you print documents with a certain font or a certain type of graphics image, try to print to another printer.
If no other printer is available, contact the manufacturer to find out whether there is an updated version of the driver or a different driver that works with your printer model.

  • Officejet Pro 8600 plus Printer

I have just purchased the Officejet Pro 8600 plus Printer & installed it with no problems but it won't connect to the internet/web services? It is connected to my home network & will print etc. but when I try to activate the internet as directed, it searches for a while with 'Enabling Web Services (ePrint & Apps)' on the screen & then reads 'Web Services (ePrint & Apps) could not be enabled'.
When I tried to activate the web service during instalation, the page read that if it did not activate I would be directed to a page to download necessary drivers but this never happened & the only thing I could do was to select the 'Next' button which completed the installion without the internet/web service working.
Does anyone know of this issue & if so, can you please tell me how to connect my printer to the internet.

  • Officejet Pro 8600 Plus prints part of page and quits

My brahd-new Officejet Pro 8600 Plus prints part of page and quits.  The manual said to clean the print heads and align the printer.  I did both of those.  It made the problem worse.   I'm printing on photo paper - HP Premium Plus.  It happens about 1/2 the time.

    Hi beantowner2,
I would like to begin with a few questions,
Does this happen when you copy a photo, or only when you print form the computer?
Do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or a surge protector?
What operating system and version is on the computer?
Is the printer connected to the computer with a USB cable or wirelessly?
If you have a WIndows operating system please download and install the latest firmware version for the printer. HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911g_n Firmware.
If you are using a surge protector, I suggest disconnecting and connecting the power directly to a wall outlet.

  • Does Lexmark 4227 plus printer is supported for Oracle EBS R12.0.6?

    Hi
Our sysadmin installed Lexmark 4227 plus printer on AIX 5.3.7, printing perfectly from AIX. But when i register printer in EBS R12.0.6, it is printing Garbage for text type report. Ateeq,
Use lp command on Unix/Linux, and on Windows use print command.
    Windows:
    print /D:\\<server_name>\<printer_name> <file_name>
    Unix/Linux:
    lp -d <printer_name> -n<copies> <file_name>Where file_name is the concurrent request output file.

    https://metalink2.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/ml2_documents.showDocument?p_database_id=NOT&p_id=784640.1
I believe Oracle Apps does not come with seeded drivers/styles for Lexmark printers, so you may need to try with different predefined styles/drivers. Also, contact your vendor and see if they have any clients with this printer configured on Oracle Apps.

  • Question re: HP printer issue

I've posted recently re: my HP LaserJet 1320 not working with my new iMac.
I had a thought. Without thinking or doing much research first, I simply installed the drivers etc. from the HP disc that came with the printer. The more I read on here, I tend to think that this wasn't necessary as apparently the driver is included in the OS.
Would a clean re-install of the OS help? Is it worth a try? Is it difficult to do, for someone who is new to Mac and has never had to install an OS of any kind?
Has anyone with similar printer issues tried this approach? I appreciate your input.
    Thanks!
    iMac Intel   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   17", 1.83, 160, 1gig

According to Apple yours is included during the install.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303057#hpdrivers
I've reinstalled Windows hundreds of times, and OSX dozens, so I'm probably not a good reference on this! But, OSX is a piece of cake! Slide the disk in, select install and follow the prompts. Be sure to back up all data that you want to keep!
I strongly suggest in an external Firewire drive the same size as your system drive for backups. This way you can always have a bootable backup of your entire system. -This is a whole new topic- Search "backup" here & you will find lots of good advice from the pros.
Now, can you rescue your system as is? I'm not sure - I would give it my best. But if you have nothing to loose, the reinstall only takes about an hour or so - plus time to install & update any applications that you have.
    Have fun!

So I cannot scan my pictures, help.  Windows 8.1 with HP Officejet 6500A Plus printer.  Scanner works with other programs in my PC.  Problem is PS12

I bought the Officejet 6500A Plus about one month and have experienced the very same problem. I tried to remedy this problem following suggestions in a number of different posts (static IP, router, firewalls etc), all to no avail. Last week I called support. The support I received by the tech over several hours and different days for a week was very good. However none of his suggestions corrected the connection issue. After today's recommended fix failed, he advised HP is aware of this issue with the 6500 and other affected printers. He claimed HP was working on a firmware upgrade. He did not know when the update would be provided. The tech also claimed HP acknowledged this problem in a written announcement. He agreed to email the announcement to me. I haven't received it. This has been the only problem I've had with the 6500

  • 8500A Plus - Printing 1 page but 1/3 of it on 3 pages - ALL THE TIME!

    Hey All -
Picked up an 8500A Plus printer and having some serious issues with it.
    1.  When I try to print anything - 1 page or 100 pages very very often (like 85% of the time) it will print 1 page over 3 pages of paper - or 2 pages of paper.  It just divides it up and prints the 1 page over multiple pages - right to the edge as if there is a feeder problem (like it took 2 pages by mistake 4" apart) - but it didn't - it takes one - prints 1/2 or 1/3 the page - takes another prints the next 1/2 or 1/3 and so on.  The ONLY way to solve it is to turn it off - then back on.  Then it works for 1 or 2 print jobs if done immediately - if it sits it will not do any correctly - the longer it sits (like 1 hour) the more it does it.  Turn it off then back on and I am good for a bit.
    2.  I select scan to computer - and it will the 1st time about 80% of the time - but the second time?  NEVER - It says can't make a connection - even though 10 seconds ago it just did.......turn off - then back on and it works for 1 turn.......then turn off and turn on blah blah blah.
Will be returned if this can't be addressed - a complete waste of time.

Did you return your printer or were you able to fix the issue.  I just purchased this printer and it worked fine for two days, then suddenly began printer various parts of page 1 onto two or three pieces of paper.

  • Laptop and Officejet 6500A Plus printer can't communicate using HP software

When I use Windows 7's built-in "Find New Printer" utility, I have no problem establishing communication between my laptop and my OfficeJet 6500 A Plus printer/scanner/fax. It works fine for printing, but I really need a scanner, so I try to use the HP software. I've tried both the full software package and the basic driver option, but the printer and the laptop can't seem to find each other, whether I use my Google fiber-based home Wi-Fi network or connect with a USB.
Both the laptop and the printer say they're connected to my home network. Any advice?

    Hello dionrwall,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I see you are trying to install the 6500a Plus so you can scan, however you can not get the software to find the printer. I would like you to try using the HP Printer Install Wizard, this will act similar to the Windows installer for Plug N' Play.
Let me know if this is able to install the software correctly or if it fails.
    Cheers,
