HP 10G "NC510F" NIC compatible with X2 10G tranceivers?

Specifically, does anyone know if the HP 10G NIC work with Cisci X2-10G-LRM or X2-10G-SR?
-Jim

Jim,
according to the datasheet for that NIC (http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/networking/nc510f/index.html), it says that it is "10GBASE-SR fiber optic".
The "SR" (short range) part here is the important part. The specifications for SR are standardized - so anything that is "SR" will interoperate.
so: the Cisco "SR" part will work fin, the "LRM" won't, as LRM is a different standard.
SR optics use multimode fiber - so you'll need that.
from memory, an Cisco X2 optical module has SC connectors, the HP NIC looks to be LC connectors, so you'll need a multimode patch cable that is LC-SC - again - something that is fairly standard.

  • Finding a new NIC compatible with OS 9

We had one of our systems (StarMax 4000) network card die on us. Now I am trying to find anyone selling NICs compatible with OS 9. Non of the cards we have laying around where recognized by the OS.
So far Google searches haven't helped, neither did a search of these forums. I did find some compatible wireless cards, but we don't use wireless for security reasons.
Anyone that knows a provider it would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

Try this eBay search. Apple and Zynx cards with the Apple sticker on the Big Chip require no special driver and are supported in OS 9 and Mac OS X. Asante, farallon, and other require drivers which may be hard to come by or hard to install.

  • SQL Developer 3.0.04 generated scripts not compatible with Oracle 10g (XE)

    HI,
I tried to do an export from one XE database (still 10g) to another XE database. (also 10g).
I tried to do a database copy as well as a separate export and import (by loading the file and running as a script).
Neither of them work without modifying the files as it seems that SQL Developer generates scripts that are only compatible with Oracle 11g.
    - Create table contains "segment creation automatic"
    - Storage clauses contain parts that are not compatible with 10g
I ran through the wizard several times but neither can I find an option to choose for compatibility with earlier versions of Oracle.
Checked the preferences screen as well.
Is this a well hidden option or is it not possible to make this work for 10g.
Extra : found workaround by removing the storage clause to the export. Is there another way that does not force me to remove the storage clause?

I'm sure this is far from the supported way to fix this but, seeing that it's apparently an issue with the classpath or something in it, I hacked <sqldeveloper_install>\sqldeveloper\bin\sqldeveloper.bat and added [ORACLE_HOME]\jdbc\lib\ojdbc6.jar to the classpath. At least that gets me started with 3.0 and lets me create TNS connections.
I'd really appreciate a better solution, if any of you kind folks knows of something.
    Thanks,

  • Is Windows 7 Ultimate compatible with Oracle 10g?

I am trying to install Oracle 10g for Windows on my Windows 7 OS. However, it is failing at the TNS listener configuration section. It is giving me error:
"Enterprise Manager configuration failed due to the following error:
'job_queue_processes must be greater than or equal to 1. Fix the error(s) and run EM configuration assistant again in standalone mode. You can retry configuring this Database with Enterprise Manager later by manually running C:/oracle/product/10.1.0/Db_4/bin/emca script"
Can anyone tell me what went wrong?? I am doubting if my Windows 7 is even compatible to Oracle 10g.

    Hi;
What is Your DB version to try to install... You need to 10.2.0.5 level for 10g on Win7. Please see:

No, BI Beans is not currently certified for use with 10gR2. We are currently working with the OLAP team to certify against this version. For more information please refer to Oracle Metalink.

  • Is 10g Grid Control compatible with database 11g R2?

    Hi all,
I've searched the certificaction matrix for Grid Control in Metalink and it shows the last compatible version of database to create the repository is 11.1 also I don't know if it could monitor a 11.2 database...
If I try installing it the usual way I get an error of invalid version and if I use the silent mode, I get stuck always on an error, so I suppose, for the moment, it's impossible.
Any of you have had some experiences like mine?? I planned to use it for administering Data Guard...

if it could monitor a 11.2 database... It can monitor, at least the basic functions,I added a 11gR2 database to the monitored targets (more exactly the agent discovered it properly). New features (and there some for dataguard, too) aren't yet covered. And it's not supported. 10g isn't very specific,I'm talking about the latest release 10.2.0.5 running on Windows Server 2003,not sure about lower versions.
Because of the lack of official support, I wouldn't yet include 11gR2 databases in production environments.

  • Is Oracle 10g Express Edition compatible with Windows 2000 advanced Server

I have installed Oracel 10g Express Edition on windows 2000 advanced Server, but it is not working properly, but when i installed it on Windows 2000 Professional, then it is working properly, Does anybody know why this is happening. If anybody know why this is happening, please tell me and also tell me how can i install Oracle10g xe in Windows 2000 advanced server.

There should be no issues. A few possible reasons you are running into problems:
    - installation using a domain administrator (it works best using a local admin);
    - firewalls or anti-virus software or other port blocking mechanisms;
    - DHCP resets;
However, unless you tell us exactly the symptoms we are only guessing.

  • Secure OSB10g with owsm 10g

    Hi,
I have a customer who have some flows exposed as webservices via proxy services on OSB 10g, he would like to implement authentication and authorisation, what is the best architecture to do it ? he is thinking to use OWSM 10g but don't know what is the best implementation architecture ?
He is also asking this questions : OWSM 10g is it compatible with OSB 10g or not ?
    Thanks for your help.

OSB 10g is compatible with OWSM ( 10.1.3.x and later & 11.1.1). Please refer to the following links for more details:

  • Compatible of Oracle discover 4 with Oracle 10g Database

Could you please let me know if Oracle Discoverer version 4 is compatible with Oracle 10g database?
We are migrating Oracle database 8i to 10g but want to if we can still live with the Discoverer 4.

    Interesting question.
As long as you're not talking about 4i (ie: the 'plus-type' version), then it may well work. Reason is that back in v4.x, you'd just be running a client / server version so not using any of the iAS framework so it may be just like running something like: TOAD wherein you're just accessing the database directly.
However, as you have to have the EUL in the database, etc. - I would guess that the best thing to do is to simply try it.
As it's just client / server, you could see if it works as a test case in probably 15 mins. or so. If you do, let us know as useful (albeit, eventually out-dated when 4.x is finally trashed by everyone) information.

  • Small Business Server 2003 Compatibility with Oracle 10G, licensing?

    Hello all,
Is Windows SBS 2003 compatible with Oracle 10G, I looked at the compatibility and didn't notice it but I wanted to see if anyone here had any experience with the two.

The licensing isn't by cpu slots, it's by the number
of cores times a multipier, which I believe for intel
is .5, so if you have a cpu w/ 2 cores, you would
purchase a 1 cpu license. If you have a quad core
cpu, you would need to purchase a 2 cpu license. I
would definitely talk to your sales rep about this to
make sure the multipier is right (and if it has
changed w/ intel quad technology). Thanks Jim. The multiplier used above for Intel is indeed correct. However, Oracle has (in the last few weeks) introduced the term 'socket' into it's licensing metrics as follows:
"When licensing Oracle programs with Standard Edition One or Standard Edition in the product name, a processor is counted equivalent to an occupied socket. See http://www.oracle.com/corporate/pricing/technology-price-list.pdf "
    To quote another source (CRN):
"..Standard Edition was licensed for servers with up to four single-core processor cores. For multicore chips, users could only license it for up to eight cores total. Oracle's formula was to multiply the number of cores by 0.50 to get the CPU license number to determine price. So a four-core box counted as two CPUs.
Now Standard Edition can be licensed on servers with up to four sockets, or four processors running one-, two- or four-core chips (and possibly a higher number of cores)." This source overlooks to mention that the multiplier relates to Intel!

  • Oracle 11g compatibility with oracle 10g and 9i?

    Hi All
I have some queries on 11g compatibility.
Is oracle 11g client compatible with oracle 10g client which is already installed on desktop?
If yes any changes to be done and where?
Is oracle 11g compatible with oracle 10g/9i on the same server where 10g/9i are installed?
    Regards

    Thanks Justin Thats right ...
    Problem elaboration is as follows
We currently have an application which requires oracle 10g(10.2.0.3) client to connect to database from user desktops. As
part of new application development the oracle 11g clients need to be installed on all the user deskotps.
The complete application software along with oracle client 11g has to be roled out on these desktop as part of
implementaion of new application besides the existing application(The application software is packaged along with oracle
    10g client).
We would like to understand if there is any software provided by oracle using which we can switch between different oracle
versions while accessing the respective applications simultaneously. Also are there any known bugs/issues in running
oracle 10g client and oracle 11g client together on the same user desktops with different oracle homes?
