I mistakenly formatted my C: drive, my recovery and hp_tools drive are still intact, yet I can't recover my hp mini 110-3604ei netbook... need help!

Try download a PE system and get in there and run an WIM tool to install windows to C
(Look for base.wim in the recovery partition and install it)

I Need help getting my Compaq Presario P/N: KC49OUA to go into Recovery when I press the F11 button at reboot. My brother installed Windows 7 Ultimate, upgrading from Windows Vista on the this laptop, and it turns out that HP is not supporting its needed drivers for Windows 7. So I would like to go back the OEM operating system, I see the recovery data on the the D: Presario_RP, Partition, but when I try to open the drive no files appear, although, 10GB out of 11.7 GB is used on the drive. How do I recover the Recovery Partition and get F11 to work, instead of it skipping the recovery process and then loading Windows 7?

Hi, Bill:
Normally, once another operating system is installed, the recovery partition no longer works.
You can't view the files on the recovery partition because it is an image file.
You may need a special program to be able to open and view the contents of an image file, which I am not familiar with.
The solution would be to order a set of recovery disks for your notebook.
Unfortunately, HP no longer carries them.

I am also surprised you can't get W7 to work on that model.
Most of the Windows Vista drivers should work fine.

Hp mini 110 boot disk error after installing new hard drive and system recovery

Need help, HP mini 110 Windows 7 32 bit. using my recovery disks I created i was able to recover to the old 160 gb hard drive. After I installed new 320 Gig drive and used my recovery disks i now get boot disk error. Looks like system was installed on new drive. but will not boot to complete set up.

If you use the recovery disk, your machine will restore to its default factory state. Try to reinstall the 320 GB you have if you want it to get back.

Moved Project To Knew Computer After Everything Is Named-Drive Formatting?

Did search, and seems to be a common problem, but there are a little differences. In the past, when moving project, after starting, everything just showed up. This time, the red lines everywhere. Tried renaming file to clip and vice-versa, and nothing. Double-checked and have all the media. I thought the pathway pointers were imbedded, maybe not. Do have sub-clips. Did hear some talk about how the original media(P2 DV)is saved, can affect it. Was original saved to portable firewire drive that is Fat 32 to capture P2 in the field for Macbook pro. New media drive is extended. Any help is appreciated.

Assuming that you have canvas and/or viewer set to "image" not "wireframe" the only thing I can say is that you double check again that you have the most updated version for Motion or a version that your FCP version would expect to connect with. I have seen other people experiencing this, the answer could be the awkward worst case scenario you want to avoid or simply an update inadvertently missed. Rather difficult to establish without investigating further within your actual workstation.

Recovery Manager fail to start at system boot when pressing F11 in HP mini 210

When i press F11 at system boot, it give error message :
" windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupted

please re-install a copy of the above file."
Before it I install Windows XP pro, then I use system recover option in my system recover disc to restore my original OS .Afetr it I face some startup issue like "Boot device not found" & "Hard disk not exist" which was solved by F10->Hard disk test & Memory test.
Please, help me to solve it

Factory Reset will wipe all partitions and restore it to a factory state (just like it was when shipped from HP), recovery partition included.

Windows unable to load isStor.sys from floppy after pressing F6 when installing

Basically after pressing F6, then pressing S to specify the RAID divers I want, windows will read the floppy and inform me that the drivers supplied appear to be newer than the one on my windows CD and asks me to either use the ones on the floppy or the ones on the CD. After making either of these choices the computer continues to load the drivers then offers me the option of how to install windows and make partitions etc. Once the drive is formatted it tries to load these drivers again but gives me the message saying "Cannot copy iaStor.sys" press ENTER to retry or ESC to skip. If I choose to SKIP I get a similar message about iaStor.inf and iaStor.cat. If I skip all three of these files, (there is no other option because if I keep pressing ENTER to retry, I get nowhere), it will copy all the other files it needs but I eventually get a BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH.
I have 4 identical SATA2 hard disks I want to set up as RAID. At the minute the only way I can get my computer to run is by having the drives set up as IDE drives. Which totally defeats the purpose of buying SATA2 drives.
Has anyone got any ideas, please.

Thank for the replies.
Got the problem sorted. The problem was it read the floppy on the first instance when you press F6. I was then able to select the drive I wanted to install windows on, and it would format the disk. Then it would look for the files again when installing windows. I discovered that it was the copy of windows I was using that was at fault. I was using a SLIPSTREAMED version of windows and the files needed must have been missing or corrupt. So I just reverted back to using a standard version of windows and all is OK. Got my RAIN up and running now.
The other problem I seem to have now is that when I insert a disc into my DVD drive it cause the system to go a bit slow, the mouse would stutter on the screen when I try moving it and would sometimes not move until the disc had stopped spinning. I have two DVD writes attached to the 40 pin IDE connector on the motherboard. This connector is controlled by the JMICRON chip. In the BIOS I have it set up to act as IDE and not RAID. I had initially just let windows pick up on this device and it installed it's own drivers, but I remember someone on another post saying that if you install the JMICRON RAID drivers from the motherboard driver disc it might make thing better. but it hasn't.
Any suggestions????

Compaq Mini 110 won't start after cleaning Think Point virus

I'm helping my daughter with the following problem with her Compaq mini 110.
After removing the Think Point virus according to advice in different places the mini 110 don't boot after power on. The choice of pressing F10 (BIOS setup) and F9 (boot order) appears. If I don't touch any key at startup it starts accessing the hard disk for a few seconds, according to the hard disk LED and hard disk sound. Then it stops the boot procedure. Somewhere on the HP web site I read that pressing F11 repeatedly during boot would give the opportunity to choose operatings system recovery from the recovery partition. It doesn't respond to F11. Setting boot device priority doesn't seem to be a solution, since there is only one choice, so I can't force it into the recovery. I would appreciate any advice how to proceed. Below I add som additional facts.
Some threads on the forum mentions pressing F6 for recovery funktions, but it doesn't respond. There also ought to be some function on F12, but I can't figure out what. Doesn't respond anyway. Any explanation for F6 or F12?

FACTS:
Computer model: Compaq Mini 110c-1100SO
OS is Windows XP as supplied with the computer and was never changed.
Hard disc diagnostics in BIOS setup performed without error reports (160 GB, disc type suggests Seagate hard disc)
RAM diagnostics in BIOS setup performed without error reports (1 GB)
Pressing F9 at startup gives no choices apart from the hard disk, no choice for partitions or USB boot.
I have set the delay for the user to press F10 to 5 seconds.
The display/screen works properly during BIOS setup
Power adaptor connected, and charging LED lights constantly (as I expect it to do)
Power on LED lights constantly
Wireless network LED lights constantly
Caps lock LED flashes briefly at start up, then gets dark.
When booting stops, background light on display is on, no text or symbols are shown at this state.
BIOS password has never been activated
BIOS Administrator Password has never been activated
Internal Network Adapter Boot never enabled

On the link below is a brief guide ( and the download ) to create a bootable Antivirus disk. Create this disk on another PC and when done, start the infected PC so that you can open the DVD drive, insert the Antivirus CD you've created and then restart the infected PC to initiate the process.

Unable to press any key during Start Up

I need help regarding my notebook HP Pavilion dm1. Its a very long story but I will try my very best to cut it short. So here it goes.....
My younger sister got that laptop from her school. So about installing of things including Mircosoft Words, Adobe Flasplayer etc, was done by my sister's EX fiance. For months everything when smooth only up till now. I realize the User was under his name. i couldn't seek my sister's EX fiance as they broken off 3 months ago and is no longer contactable. Everything I do, including trying to update the notebook (was alerted by the notebook itself via a pop-up window at the bottom corner right hand side), it seems that I couldn't update. Now even icon such as Google Chome, Safari even the HP webcam is not functioning. I tried to update my iPhone via iTunes in the notebook like I normally do, but now, it says I need to update the notebook to its latest version. How am I supoose to update when I got problem updating? You know what I meant hopefully. I decided to Restore everything back to factory setting (thinking that it might help).
So here comes the problem...
I research about how to restore the notebook. Was written that when I switch on the notebook, I have to press ESC button. I did as written. When I am already at the Start Up menu, I tried pressing fn followed by f11, nothing happen. I am still stuck on the same page and after 1 minute, every button i press seems to beep.
So I have a few question to ask.
1) What is actually now the problem?
2) How can I restore back the laptop to factory setting?
3) Why I don't seem to be able to press any button during the time I was at the Start Up menu?
4) Why can't I update the notebook to its latest version?
PLEASE HELP!! ITS URGENT AS MY DEAR YOUNG SISTER HAS ASSIGNMENT TO DO VIA HER NOTEBOOK!!

Not entirely certain as to what the message of updating to the current version is in reference to. The context of the message could reveal more about it.
However, I do recommend doing a system recovery back to the factory defaults.
You mentioned pressing the Fn + F11 key. You should just press the F11 key by itself.
This should get the recovery process started.
NOTE: Backup anything that is important before continuing. A recovery will erase all files and get it back to an out of the box experience.
1. Power off the notebook completely.
2. Power the notebook on.
3. Press the F11 key repeatedly as soon as you let go of the power button.
4. This should eventually bring you to a black screen with a grey progress bar at the bottom saying windows is loading files. At this point, you can stop pressing the F11 key. Pressing the F11 key repeatedly, about once a second, is needed as there is a small window to press the F11 key and Windows will load normally instead of the recovery. So, just press F11 about once a second and it should get the ball rolling.
5. The recovery manager should load shortly giving you all the options to do the factory reset.
After you are back into Windows, perform all Windows updates (there will be a lot). If you need an anti-virus program, Microsoft provides Microsoft Security Essentials at no charge. I recommend having an anti-virus software over none.
Let me know what happens with the recovery process listed above. If you get any error messages, be sure to report that exact error message back.
Also, what is the exact model of the notebook? Knowing the exact model will help in the event the standard procedure does not work.

my iphone 5 is stuck in recovery mode after battery change, I decided to change my faulty iphone 5 battery as i was out of warrenty, I managed to chance the battery with no problems (I Think), when i put the phone back together and tried to power on with the power button, nothing happened.! i connected to itunes and it powered on, displaying the connect to itunes screen (recovery mode) all was going well, the phone was restoring, the image of the phone restoring and loading up was displayed on the screen, when it finished it restarted but to show the connect to itunes screen again, it is stuck in the recovery loop. i tried the steps with holding the power and home button etc, none worked.! now when i try to restore, it extracts software but then, ' the iphone could not be restored, an unknown error occured (3194)' comes up, any ideas out there???? and Happy Christmas to Everyone ,

HP Mini 110-3131DX static audio after reinstall

I had to reinstall Windows 7 starter on my Mini 110-3131DX after which there was no audio, I have tried installing the driver from the HP.com and CNET without any success. There is no yellow question mark icon against sound under device manager indicating that installation of driver was okay. However when the speakers are made to test, just a quick static noise is heard.
Have been working on the resolution of this isse for several weeks and so now seeking help. Thanks in advance.

I see that you reinstalled Windows 7 starter and your audio has static. You tried updating drivers from HP and from CNet but the issue remained.
HP recommends using the drivers provided on the driver web page for you notebook. If you install a different one that has not been tested the outcome is unknown.
Downloading or Updating Software and Drivers for HP Computers
Although you do have sound here is a link that may help. No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 7).
When you reinstalled Windows 7 starter how did you do it, from the recovery option or from a disk ?
Here is a link to the HP Mini 110-3131dx PC Drivers. Try deleting the driver not uninstalling it and then reinstall the one from the HP site.

Getting Do you want to save changes while pressing F11

Hello,
I created one Custom Form by using template.fmb. In that 2 database blocks and 2 control blocks. In database blocks also couple of items are non database items. When ever I open the form from Oracle Applications and pressing F11 with out doing any changes then it is prompting for Do you want to save changes? If i am pressing Yes then (in my form i am using sequence). that one is generating and saving. After saving it is going into enter query mode.
Can you please help me out how to avoid this message and why this message is coming.

You are getting this problem because you are probably modifying one of the fields in PRE or WHEN-NEW triggers. Just check if you have assigned any value to the fields using. you can search for colon (:).
Just delete that part of code and your form will work fine.

My iphone 4 stuck in recovery mode after updating to ios5.1

i got my iphone 4 updated to ios 5 months ago and it was successful. However, i was updating my software to ios 5.1 using the phone itself and it went into recovery mode after that. The moment before updating it was fine and now it stuck in recovery mode, showing the itunes logo and usb cable.
I connected my phone to the itunes on my laptop and it shows that my iphone is in recovery mode and must be restored.
I've tried restoring it but after the restoration cycle was done, it pop up a window saying there's an error (1) occuring and my iphone was unable to be restored.
I've tried it again and again for hours from yesterday evening until now but it's still the same. Anyone can help? I got no more phone to use at the moment.

download a program called RecBoot, very easy to use, connect your iphone and click on "exit recovery mode" and it will restart normally. I had the same problem as you, but I solved it with this program.
