HP 12C Calculator
My HP 12C calculator is not calculating correctly. For example, when I type in a simple equasion such as 5*6 I get 36, or 2*9 gives me 81. I am not exactly sure if I hit a button by mistake which is causing the calculator to do this, or if something is not working correctly. Any insights are appreciated it!

The 12C uses RPN entry for calculations, so 5*6 is done as:
5 Enter 6 *
and 2*9 is done as:
2 Enter 9 *
This might seem cumbersome at first, but works well for longer expressions.

Hi,
How can I fix the 12C to make it work properly?
I've already bought 2 and both of them have the same problem. I get the error message "Prob Error" every time I want to use any of the functions on the left side (financial functions, exp, ln...).
I'm very disappointed, I reset them a few times using the different methods (paperclip, coins, removing the bateries) but nothing works.
May you please help me with this?

I suspect the message you are getting is "Pr Error".
Put in new batteries of a good brand from a reputable source.
The problem is that the low battery indicator does not work properly. When the batteries are low and a function key is pressed the calculator essentially resets and a "Pr Error" message results. Unfortunately it means that the program memory is deleted too.
By the way, if checking the batteries you should use a battery checker that puts a load on it and not just with a volt meter - otherwise you are just seeing a good no-load voltage (just like the low battery detection circuit of the calculator).

CALC 12C - Where did it go?!? What now?
I had downloaded a wonderful app "CALC 12C" which was a terrific emulation of the HP 12C calculator, and free. It was from Crimson Research. I still have it on my iPhone, no problem. Yet.
What happened? Anyone know?
Perhaps more to the point, when Apple pulls an application, what happens -- will it disappear on my next sync, or next app store update? Will I be able to go to firmware 2.3 and have it remain? When I got a new phone once, it was suggested I re-downlaod them all from scratch. I did, no problem and no new charges -- obviously couldn't now, so I'd be restoring with iTunes, does it check that it is still an approved app?I will.
I've been doing a lot of reading in the various websites where work on HP calculator simulation is done, and there appear to be licensing or copyright issues with some later microcode, e.g. I see where the nonpareil distribution was being discussed as split between free and not over this. So it may well be that some kind of copyright issue arose. There's a fair amount of history for other efforts, none for this free one, so I did not learn much.
As to comments about others -- there are, some quite expensive. Plus I love to encourage the GNU and similar efforts when they appear, I'd rather donate to a freeware GNU effort than pay the same for a commercial product. -
Calculation Field to be mapped to different data object's column name in Oracle BAM 12c

I am having a challenge to enable drill down to 2nd level report by passing calculation field as parameter.
As an alternative, I am thinking to point calculation field to another data object’s column name and generate report so that I would be able to pass that as parameter to drilling report view.
Is there any way to map calculation field to different Data object’s column name? Thanks in advance.

Silent installation of Cloud agent 12c failed on a windows 2003 host
Hello All,
I've done multiple installations by silently installing the cloud agent 12c using a response file. However, the configuration portion failed on this one windows 2003 host.
Has anyone seen this? I've searched on metalink and see other problems like TZ, service already exists, incorrect PERL settings etc..but found nothing that helps so far.

but now it throws another error saying that
The log says "ORA-12003: materialized view "SYSMAN"."MGMT_ECM_MD_ALL_TBL_COLUMNS" does not exist" during the OMS Upgrade using graphical mode.
We are not sure if that Materialized view ever exists on it or not.
Please advise

I'm facing the problem with 'Repository Configuration' when installing EM 12c on WIndows 7.
The installation gets stuck at 47% . My database doesn't have any pluggable database and SYSMAN has never been created before. Can you please help with this problem ?

Because you mentioned that you do not have any pluggable database, and because pluggable databases are new in Oracle Database 12c, I have to ask: Are you trying to install EM12c using Oracle Database 12c as the repository database? If so, this is not a supported configuration and I would strongly suggest that you select one of the certified versions of the database (like 11.2.0.3) to use for your repository database.

Is there a way to find stated interest rate on HP 12C?
Help, I am trying to get compute the "stated interest rate" on the HP 12c given the PV is 1000 and FV is 1061.68 and n is 12 ( 1year compounded monthly). I keep getting Error 5 when I enter these inputs and then press i. I even played around with the sign conventions. Nothing works. The answer is 6, but I am trying to obtain the result on the calculator.

It is about the direction of movement of the money:
$1000 is paid into the account (+ve)
$1061.68 is what you can take out of the account at the end of the specified period, thus -ve (even if you don't actually want to withdraw it at that stage).
Note that the opposite convetion is also used (e.g. in the 12C manual "The Cash Flow Sign Convention" p36):
$1000 is paid into the account, i.e. money you pay out (-ve)
$1061.68 is what you can take out of the account at the end of the specified period, i.e. money you receive (+ve).

12c: Signature digest verification failure with SAML msg protection policy

I am using the policy wss10_saml_token_with_message_protection_service_policy for Service Bus 12c proxy service and getting the error while verifying the signature digest. I am doing the testing using SOAP Ui.
I am able to understand it's an issue in verifying the signature digest but unable to debug and conclude the cause of this issue as i did the necessary setup. And using the appropriate keys for encryption and signing. Also tried overriding the policy configuration at policy level and Service bus end point level too.
Policy Settings are:
- Time Stamp included, Signing entire request body, no signing for SAML token and X 509 token.
- No signature encryption checked and kept default values for all other attributes.
Configured only Message Security section in WSM Domain Configuration and used JKS as the key store. Used the trusted certificate entry of client as signing alias and own public key as enc alias.
Following is the error stack trace i am seeing. Please let me know if there is any thing missing or any other insights into this issue. The logs generated by setting xml.debug.verify also did not help much. I am thinking the issue may be something to do with Canonicalization of XML.

We have a requirement where the client wants only VAT to be posted in GL accounts and not the price.For this I tried free goods condition type R100 with AltCBV 28.But the VAT value is also coming zero. I want the VAT to be calculated on Pricing condition and then give 100% discount.
Apart from this I also tried to make pricing condition statistical and calculate VAT on it but then also system gives zero value for VAT.
Also wondering if the scenario can be addressed with Free of Change Dellivery.Hi
Normally in scenario where you are dealing with samples , there are cases you have to charge only TAXES / EXCISE part.
Here my SUGGESTION is you can handle this through a simple sales order process, where you have to configure a new pricing procedure.
1. Create a new document type to handle samples.
2. Create a New pricing procedure where you can keep the basic price condtion as Statistical and rest all same as wht is is there your main pricing procedure. Just juggle with the TO-FROM to capture the TAX part in the total.
3. Doc pricing procedure will help you to pick the new Pricing procedure
4. Now Process this as a normal sales order
5. This new document type will help you to have a proper reporting.
The only constraint here is USER has to punch a fresh order seperately for such scenario. He cannot give a free good in the same sales order which is used as standard.
The other way is you can configure a FREE GOOD Determination procedure as suggested where you need to then have your Single pricing procedure accomodating the same scenario.

If statement in Custom Calculation Script
I have 16 fields and if even one of them ="1" I have to list it in another field. I do not want to count or sum. If one of those fields has a 1 in it I just want the other field to display Y and if none have a 1 I want that field to display N.

I have a little problem with calculating a certain batch characteristic.
The situation is the following:
I have batch char A, batch char B and batch char C. Batch char C is the result of the sommation of char A and B. The problem I have now is that batch char C only should be calculated when batch char A and B are different from 0.
I have a custom build interface that imports QM data to the batch chars. Default, all my batch chars are set to 0 so if I just say $self.charC = $self.charA + $self.charB, I always get a value.
Is it possible to some sort of IF statement to check if the value is different from 0?Dear,

Pension not calculated when EE is hired mid-month

Please suggest for the following....
When an Employee is hired in the middle of the month, the system doesn't calculate Pension Contribution.
Like if an EE is hired on 10th April. The system will calculate all payments & deductions, but it is not calculating the Pension Contributions.
I am maintaining IT 169, 171 for Pension Contribution.
The problem I found behind this is.....(WIth the help of an ABAPer)
-: System checks the Payroll Period Start Date with the Org. Assignment start date. When it doesnu2019t match, the system does not calculate the Pension Contribution.
For the time being I solved this through the following action -: In debugging, I canceled this condition (skipped this check). Then it calculated the Pension Contribution.
But, this is not the right solution for achieving that as we are changing standard SAP coding.
Please suggest any solution for the same.
