HP 15 g010nd bad performance

I was very happy with my old HP laptop but since I bought this one I've got problems with performance with browsing the internet. I was aware that this wasn't a quick machine but the benchmarks for internet use says its ok and performs well.
It's a shame that HP sell such machines and consumers remain with the problems. (also after consulting the support because the problem is known and there is no solution)

1GHz AMD Dual-Core E1-2100 APU processor is a big let down, whichever brand laptop it is.
Actually, 1GHz is the minimum requirement for Windows 8/8.1 Operating system.
It is the bottlenecking factor for the bad performance you're getting. And the processor is not replaceable also unless you're going for the whole board replacement -

Martin, listen to CC, the main problem really is overlapping objects (text and digital displays)! The LabVIEW application without overlapping object is 500x faster than yours (See attached, LabVIEW 7.1). I get loop times of below 1ms (>1KHz!) versus your original version with 400-500ms, so LabVIEW can beat your C application by 10x IF you avoid overlapping objects.
(I am using an ancient 1GHz PIII laptop, so the loop times on a modern computer will be much faster)
I agree with Aaron that your property nodes contribute to the problem. After deleting all unecessary property node terminals (they never change!), the only bad one is the constantly variable color scale of the oil pressure. Is this even meaningful to the user? This property write alone costs a few tens of ms(!) so it might be reasonale to either get rid of it completely or update it at a lower rate (In the attached example it happens every 100 iterations, modify as needed (LAbVIEW 7.1)).
If you go back to 200ms loop times, my version will only use a few % of cpu.
Note also that you can do your entire color ramp with 4 elements, six is overkill and just complicates things. I would also get rid of the blinking, it's just too ugly. Use a Red LED to indicate the special condition.
Yes, the performance hit with overlapping objects is surprising, but I am sure there is a good reason and we win elsewhere. It has been my experience that most aspects of LabVIEW are highly optimized under typical conditions (IF properly used!).Message Edited by altenbach on 05-09-2005 01:53 AM

  • Laser Jet P1008 - Very Bad Performance

I have been using HP LaserJet P1008 since 06th june 2008. It worked very nicely during the 2 months only. after that it started to show some problems. we changed its Toner atleast 3 times due to poor quality print outs. Now a days, apart from poor quality print outs, the printer is not respnding on time to the print request. To get a single page print out we need to wait for long time.I tried many times to rectify the problem by calling a technincian, but the thing is still not working properly. What should I do to fix this problem? Is there any option to exchange this printer with a better one by giving additional amount? Thanks

  • I'am possibly having bad performance issues

I resently purchased an Hp dv6-3025dx. I didnt purchase this computer for gaming by no means but, kept the option in mind. Since the purchase i've put 2 games on it. one being neverwinter night 2 and team fortress 2 both of which are somewhat old games. I have noticed that i have to put both games on the lowest settings to play them without chopiness. I was wondering if this was an unusual thing. I dont really want to deal with hp's technical support if there isn't a problem as i know its just going to be a pain in the azz. Here are some specs.

  • Bad Performance with NI-VISA and NI-488.2 under Win XP

I have an application (originally developed under LW/CVI 5.5.1), that use VISA for both, GPIB and serial communication. The application runs fine under NT 4.0 but under XP there are delays in conjunction with serial communication, which slow down the whole application. I already compiled the application with LW/CVI 6.0, installed NI-VISA V. 2.6.0 and NI-488.2 V. 2.0 but this didn't change anything. Do you have any ideas?

    Hello Michael,
We have noticed the reduction in system performance in Windows XP when multiple ports are installed, and large packets are being read/written at high baud rates (460.8k). Performance is acceptable when using smaller packet sizes or slower baud rates (115.2k for example). It appeared to be a bug in XP, because the problem was fixed when a prerelease version of XP service pack 1 was installed.

  • Compaq F764CA & Windows 7 Upgrade = bad battery performance

Hi I was wondering if anyone else has come across this problem.  I upgraded my wife's laptop to Windows 7 Ultimate and while there were some drivers from Vista required to work things out, I have noticed that her laptop battery performance has gone from an average of 2hours with Vista to only 20 minutes under Win7.  There is even a little red cross on her battery system tray icon and hovering over it brings a message that I should install a new battery.  This system is only 1.5 years old so I find the battery issue odd.
Suffice it to say, she is not too impressed so far.  The official word from HP is that her laptop will not be supported for Windows 7 which means no official updated drivers.  I don't understand how HP can say this for a 2 year old computer.
So any suggestions as to what I can do to help make the battery last longer than 20 minutes when it's not plugged in?  If there are no Vista equivalent drivers then I might be stuck and will have to downgrade back to Vista.
Thanks for any tips or advice.

Well, you will not like my next comment.  I think the next step is to expect a motherboard problem.  Since this problem has been known about for so long, I was hoping the manufacturers had solved this BUT you system is rather old.  Google "bad caps" for symptoms it you are really interested but that would be my next avenue to explore.  Strange things happen when those "caps" at first deteriorated to the point of failure.  Once they get more age, stranger things will happen or it will just finely fail.  Changing the OS will not solve the problem.
You said in your first post "This machine had Windows XP installed but since the End of Support i have been having problems".  I think your problems were not linked to the EOL of WinXP, unfortunately.

  • Bad performance video in on vivo card?

This opinion posted as a reply in other thread. But because I think It is proper to be an issue for discussion
I am posting in a new thread. Let alone the difficulty in configuration, the vivo of this card seems to have a poor performance.
    I too have a GeForce 4 Ti4200-VTD8X-8894 AGP 8X 128MB.
Vidio in working in a machine, but not in other machine.
I also have a ati tv wonder pci, The configurations of the capture driver on both machine appeares to be the same but behave differently, which I don't know why at all.
What I've found so far :
    1. For tv(videoin) decoding: dscaler1.7(alpha) works on both machine(but on bad one freezes often)
    2. On the bad machine using any capture driver causes pending (ie. in windows movie maker or virtual dub), drivers(1.27 or 1.22) have the same behavior.
    3. While comparing the performance of tv decoding, I found a big issue. Tvwonder was very vivid on screen and the cpu usage was only 8% while vivo was very rough(skipping, ...) and the cpu load was over 60%.
    So the conclusion?
The tv in of this card is only for the poor. If you can bear the poor performanc, you can spend lots of time to enable it and get bad performance. I'd rather buy a h/w decoding tv card for $30 or more. With amd xp 2.1G, and Tvwonder and window media encoder, I was able to broadcast to 1.5g bandwidth of video quality while watching the movie on Window media player on the same machine. The cpu usage was around 80%. But with this card, I cannot dream of it at all.
It is said that this card has bt848 decoder(So can be played using dscaler1.7). Then how come this card be so slow on decoding? Bad configuration? Possibly. If anyone who could watch tv(through vcr) fast enough with low cpu usage, please let me know the secret.

I started again from scratch (3:th time), installed win98 on a clean HD and installed the vga driver from the cd in the box. Then I installed Winproducer from the cd, but the capture program I have to browse on the cd to install. The capture seems to work now, but I can not save my recording from my camcorder, some error message is poping up and the same message is when I tried to play the saved file (there is a saved file anyway).
I have problem whith my network card also byt only in win98, complaining about ndis.vxd (can´t load ndis.vxd).
So I have to install W2000 to get internet.
When I installed the Winproducer on W2000 the computer rebooted all the time, is Winproducer not compatible whith W2000 ??
I have not downloded anything yet (se abow).
And where can I find this 28.32 or 29.42 ?
WDM, I have installed this time.
    Thanks NE

  • BADI for changing fields during Creation of BP in CRM

    Hello to everyone,
I need to find a BADI (or other way) to default several fields during BP creation in CRM (4.0 SR1 SP9). The fields I will like to set are TAX TYPE, TAX NUMBER, TAX CATEGORY, etc.. I have found the BADI BUPA_TAX_UPDATE but i dont see any suitable parameters (structures) to changes these fields. Please advice and thanks in advance.

    Hi
If you use function BUPA_NUMBERS_GET then your BP number will already be buffered and you can avoid a DB read. It may also be that the BP is not in the DB yet anyway.
You can only pass one GUID in at a time - loop through IT_CHANGED_INSTANCES into a variable of type BU_PARTNER_GUID and pass that into the function as input parameter IV_PARTNER_GUID.
    Cheers
    Dom

  • Implementing BADI MD_ADD_COL_EZPS for MD04 custom column

    Hi there,
I'm using BADI MD_ADD_COL_EZPS to display 3 new buttons and three new columns in MD04.
For each line item that is displayed, the custom column is filled, after the button is hit -This works fine.
    My Question is:
Is there any way to limit the value that is filled into the new column so that it only appears on the FIRST line item/row?
(At the moment it is repeated all the way down the page - the new value is a material characteristic, so doesn't change, will always be the same for each line)
I've looked at all the available structures/tables in the FILL_ADD_COLUMNS method of the BADI, and none seem suitable
to determine the "first" row. (ie. something like the way SY-TABIX or SY-INDEX might be used)
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks,
    David.

    Hi Shubhendu,
in the method 'ACTIVATE_ADD_COLUMNS', you can set the flag EZ1_MODE to '1' to make the first column visible always. (it's been a while, but I think setting it to '2' makes it visible when the button is pressed.)
Same applies to EZ2_MODE for second column, EZ3_MODE for third.
look at the flags/parameters in this method, and also in FILL_ADD_COLUMNS, to fill the data.
here you need to fill structure EMDEZX_USEX1 (for column 1) etc.
The code is hit for each record displayed in MD04
    Hopefully this helps you.
    Regards,
    David

  • Help Needed Badly | BlackBerry INC000025111306 | BlackBerry PlayBook - Tablet button does not work, almost stuck, copper under screen, seventh repair

I was really Humilitated my RIM on this Ticket whcih i rasied.
    1) I bought a new tablet in last november in 2 months i had a Charger issue
    2) They said this charger issue we cannot replace with new tablet and gave me a refurbished Tablet to me .
    3) Which also had same charging issue and they exchanged 2 more tablets and the last tablet which was given to me by RIM have a safety concern
     - 1 Small mesh of wire is poping out from the Tablet
     - Power Button is very hard and its not that easy to press,
So i raised the above ticket and was esclated internally with RMA as well and i got an update from the esclation agents that we will reply back in 2 Days i waited almost 3 weeks and called 2 times in this 3 weeks for an Update asking for a new tablet so that atleast once in all i can jeep a good 1 Tablet.
But they never bothered to call me and today i called them again and RIM gave me a call back mentioning we cannot give a new tablet we can again check this tablet repair it and give it back , If we cannot repir then give a replacement new/Old tablet,
I was wondering how can a tablet from RIM can go out without such safety concern ? How a mesh of wire can comeout of tablet so what safety norms RIM is follwoing for customer.
AM i not humilitated? since after taking all these struggle tto get a good tablet i have been considered as bad.
What RIM have to say for this, I am planing to take this to Legal department to follow how i can get a justice for this.

I would have deleted this but can't find a delete?
At any rate. got the Blackberry going again but it reset it and lost all the info, pictures and so forth.. oh well. at least it is still working.
    Thanks.

  • Analog out DMA performance problems

I'm working on an open-source driver for m-series and e-series boards (http://www.comedi.org). I've discoved some performance problems doing dma to analog outputs that I can't resolve. In summary, dma transfers to the analog output of a PXI-6281 in a pxi crate being controlled through a mxi-4 connection (pxi-pci8336) are VERY slow. I'm talking 250k samples/sec slow. That's the maximum speed the dma controller can fill the board's analog output fifo from host memory. I've also got an older PXI-6713 in the same crate, and dma transfers to it are about 15 times faster (about 3.5M samples/sec). I did notice that clearing the dma burst enable bit in the mite chips channel control register caused the 6713 to slow way down to something comparable to the 6281 (about 500k samples/sec). Setting or clearing the burst enable bit had no effect on the speed of the 6289. Is there some special mojo that needs to be done to enable burst transfers on the 6289? Also, even the relatively speedy 6713 does dma transfers much slower than it should, since the pxi-pci8336 advertises 80MB/sec sustained transfer rates over mxi4. Can you provide any insight into this matter? I've already looked through the ddk, and a register level document describing the mite chip, and example code which had chipobjects for the mite and an analog input example.
By the way, dma transfers for analog input on the 6281 weren't as bad, I didn't measure the transfer time, but I was at least able to do input at 500k samples/sec without fifo overruns.
I'll post more detailed performance measurements in a subsequent post, and include measurements for a couple other similar pci boards (a pci-6289 and pci-6711). In case you're wondering, neither of the pci boards get anywhere close to the bandwidth provided by the pci bus, but they're not as spectacularly bad as the pxi-6281.

    Here are my measurements:
    PCI-6711, tested on 1.4GHz Pentium 4:
5.2 to 5.3 milliseconds to load fifo to half-full using dma. 0.9 to 1.0 microseconds to write to a 16-bit register. 1.9 to 2.1 microseconds to read from a 16-bit register. The mite's burst enable bit has no effect.
    PXI-6713, tested on 3.2GHz Pentium D:
2.2 to 2.4 milliseconds to load fifo to half-full using dma. 0.5 to 0.7 microseconds to write to a 16-bit register. 5 to 7 microseconds to read from a 16-bit register. Turning off the mite's burst enable bit causes the dma fifo load time to increase to 16 to 17 milliseconds.
    PCI-6289, tested on 3GHz Pentium 4:
2.0 to 2.2 milliseconds to load fifo to half-full using dma. 0.4 to 0.6 microseconds to write to a 16-bit register. About 1.2 microseconds to read from a 16-bit register. The mite's burst enable bit has no effect. I could do streaming analog output on 1 channel with an update rate of about 2.1MHz before the board's fifo started to underrun.
    PXI-6281, tested on 3.2GHz Pentium D:
18 to 19 milliseconds to load fifo to half-full using dma. 0.3 to 0.4 microseconds to write to a 16-bit register. 4 to 6 microseconds to read from a 16-bit register. The mite's burst enable bit has no effect. I could do streaming analog output on 1 channel with an update rate of about 250kHz before the board's fifo started to underrun.
Notes: the 671x boards have a 16k sample ao fifo, the 628x boards have 8k.
The 4 to 7 microseconds times to read a register on the PXI boards seems large too, is that normal overhead for going over the mxi-4 connection?
I wasn't doing anything else intensive on the pci bus during these tests. For what it's worth, according to pci specs the two pci boards should be able to dma their analog output fifos to half full in less than 150 microseconds.

  • Low memory performance

When doing any memory performance tests on my new to me T61, Windows 7, 64bit, 4GB's memory machine, I have very slow performance results compared to any other known similar configurations.
2 well known sites I've tested at are http://browse.geekbench.ca/ and http://www.pcpitstop.com/ (Yeah, I know, most people think that site stinks)
I had 32bit Windows 7 on here with 3GB's memory and scored low with that OS also. Thought  I'd give 64bit Windows a shot. Absolutely no difference what so ever!
When testing at pcpitstop, the ONLY score that is even close to being respectable is the video (Nvidia card).
Is this laptop really as bad as those scores indicate? It doesn't really seem to be running to bad, although it doesn't "feel" as fast or score as high  as my Toshiba Satellite A135 with only 2GB's memory and a 1.6ghz single core proessor.
Any have any tips for getting this thing to crank like I "think" it should?
    Thank you

Hard to say - the overall performance shouldn't be sub-par for the T61.

  • Prime-time Performance Issues

I'm paying for Quantum Internet service 75/35, but lately I'm noticing that watching AppleTV and Netflix in the evenings is getting hard to do. It seems like between 9:30 and 10:30pm EST my FiOS performance is getting really bad. This causes shows to halt/buffer multiple times and is souring the entire viewing experience.
Here's my ususal (daytime) performance using Verizon's own speed test tool, which is what I expect:
And here's what I've been getting at night, about 3Mb/s or sometimes less:
As you would imagine, this is causing large buffering delays as I'm trying to stream HD content.
I know I can try to reduce image quality to minimize required bandwidth, but that's not the point; this is NOT the Internet service I'm paying for.
Please note that my AppleTV device is HARD WIRED to my FiOS router. Also note that I am not using the FiOS router's on-board WiFi; that's turned off and I am serving WiFI in my house via two HARD WIRED Apple devices (a time capsule and an AirPort Express). I am seeing this performance on all devices in my house at these times, whether they are wired or wireless. Also note that I'm getting this test from Verizon's own site, which is hitting their own servers, which means that the interface between Apple, Amazon, Netflix, etc. and Verizon shouldn't have any bearing on the issue.
Of course all calls to support have been about resetting my router, rebooting the ONT, etc. and nothing is getting better. I am trying to tell Verizon that they need to test the performance/capacity of their MAN/WAN infrastructure, but the agent can't do that, and can't even do a loopback speed test through my router to confirm or refute the performance I'm seeing.
I don't know what else to do at this point, so I'll put it to the community. It looks like a lot of other people are seeing issues aligning with evening (i.e. prime time download) hours and I'm wondering if Verizon has oversold their capacity in my area (Tampa FL). They may have the fibers that can deliver a gig to each house, but if they don't have the router bandwidth and the backhaul bandwith to actually support it out to their network edge, it's a moot point.
Is there any way I can get someone's attention in the network engineering team at Verizon? At this point they either know they have a major issue and don't want to admit it, or have a local failure (bad PON card, loose connector, overloaded internediate router, etc) that they have yet to diagnose. The call center staff doesn't seem to know how to get to the bottom of this.

    Hi JDinTampa,
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.
