HP 15t j000 will not wake from sleep/hibernate Windows 8,8.1,10

HP 15t j000 will not wake from sleep/hibernate Windows 8,8.1,10. I have to restart. I've searched high and low for answer to this. I've seen videos, played with power settings.  I hoped each Windows system upgrade would fix the problem. No go. Anyone with any ideas?

Hi , Thank you for your query.  I understand that after upgrading to Windows 10, it will not wake from sleep mode unless you restart. The first step I would try is to disable "Hybrid Boot' or "Hybrid Shutdown.  This can be done by turning off "Fast Startup" Fast Startup - Turn On or Off in Windows 10 Next try running the "Update Troubleshooter"  Windows Update troubleshooter. Once launched, it should show a screen like this. Use the second option "Background Intelligent Transfer Service", it should lead to a force update of 'Windows Updates' that may not be automatically being applied, that could fix some of these issues.
Here is a link to HP PCs - Sleep and Hibernate Issues (Windows 10, 8) that may also help.  To say thanks for replying please click the thumbs up button below. If this yielded a solution please choose solution provided to help other people find this information.  Best of Luck!

My macbook pro 2007 will not wake from sleep without holding down start button and then restarting? Is this a serious problem?

You can Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379
You can run the Disk Utility> Repair Disk from Recovery ( command R on start)
if that does not sort it I would reinstall OS X

  • IPhone 1.1.4 will not wake from sleep mode

    Hi all,
I have an iPhone with 1.1.4 firmware. The problem that I have is that the phone will not wake from sleep mode by pressing the "home" button. I have to press both the "home" and "sleep/power" buttons and hold them for 6 seconds for the phone to restart. I did restore the phone twice - did not solve the problem. Then, one day, I left it charging for about 3 days and when I came back it started working fine. Not for long though( After about a week of normal usage the wake up problem came back. I don't know what to do. I don't think it's the software problem, since I did complete restoration 2 times.
If the phone is connected to a charger or computer - it wakes up fine.
    Thanks, Gene K

    rimini,
When you've restored the iPhone, have you tried setting it up as a new phone? This would truly eliminate software as a possibility.
If setting it up as a new phone doesn't correct the issue, it's probably time for service: apple.com/support/iphone/service/faq/
    Hope this helps,

  • IPhone will not wake from sleep and locks up with new MMS update

    Hey everyone,
Has anyone had these problems with their new update as well?
    1) Sometimes my iPhone will not wake from sleep mode, I have to hold down both buttons for it to restart...I do this about 5 times a day!
    2) I cannot send SMS messages and when I send more than one sometimes the iPhone locks up and will not unfreeze.
Does anyone know if this is an Apple update issue or if it is an AT&T issue? And if this is being addressed?
Apple, if you read this could there be an update to all members what is going on?

I am experiencing the same issue with iPhone 3GS. After yesterday update to 3.1.2, it is a bit better in the sense that I can restart the iPhone slightly faster but still getting frozen screen during a call. I will try to call support once more. I don't believe that the problem is solved in the new update.

  • MacBook pro 17" will not wake from sleep mode

Ok so my MacBook Pro 17" with osx 10.6.8 will not awaken from sleep mode. when attempting to wake it up the screen dosent come on and the mouse and keyboard do not receve any power. to get back on the computer i have to force a hard restart by holding the power button for 10 seconds then pressing it again. then it boots to where i left off when i closed the lid. i have read a few forums about this problem and i have went through all the steps of reseting various things and went as far as going into terminal using sudo to disable safe sleep and nothing helps. i noticed an unusual error in my console. here is a  copy of my console log. the one in question is  {7/14/13 4:52:43 AM com.apple.UserEventAgent-Aqua[118] dontAutoLoad = EMPTY!}  someone please help me I am over 150 miles from the nearest apple store or authorised retailer

  • IMac will not wake from sleep after 10.4.8 Update

Recently after a couple of software updates my IMac goes to sleep and the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse will not wake it. The option for wake with Bluetooth is checked. I zapped the PRAM and also checked the HD, Nothing has changed. NOTE: No new software or hardware installs were done except for 10.4.8 update and the other mac software updates. This did not happen in prior versions of the OS on my iMac. Is this a new bug?
iMac G5 1.8 (pre iSight)   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Bluetooth, Wake from Sleep

I've been dealing with this same issue, have tried everything, but to no avail. After MANY sessions on the phone with Apple tech support, as well as an Apple product specialist, I was advised to erase my computer and do a fresh install. I did an archive an install, which didn't help, but am not thrilled about the prospect of erasing everything and starting over. This problem started after the August 2006 round of updates. I feel it's bluetooth related, because I used a usb keyboard and mouse for a week as a test, with no problem. The funny thing is, I unchecked "allow bluetooth device to wake computer" thinking it might help, but the bluetooth devices continue to wake the computer anyway (except when it refuses to wake, of course!)

  • MacBook Pro will not wake from sleep

My new 13" MacBook Pro will occasionally refuse to wake from sleep. Touching the keyboard or moving the mouse will turn on the keyboard background lights but the computer will not wake. This occurs without any peripherals attached.  I have reset the PRAM and the SMC ... no help.
The only option for recovery is the hard power down with the power button and restart. Anyone else seeing this?

Yes and I hate it. I am having pretty much the same problem, and have tried the same solutions, also Iupgraded to Lion and there still has been no relief. My computer just runs slower.

  • Dual 1.25 mdd g4 will not wake from sleep

if i leave the comp on and it goes to sleep or if i force it sleep, it will not wake, the power button will not pulse its stays on solid, the display shuts down, but when i move the mouse nothing, if i click the mouse it will light up red only when i click it after that i goes back out, the display stays in sleep mode, i have to hold the power button down till it shuts off then restart it and it starts and runs fine till it goes to sleep then i have to restart
any help would be great, thanks

Well I'm having a combination of a number of these issues. Background is dual 1.25 GHz with OSX 4.11. Current situation is that the computer will not wake when put to sleep. This will happen whether I select Sleep from the Apple menu or just let the thing time out and put itself to sleep. I haven't been able to narrow it down but if I don't wait too long after sleep it seems I can log back in (even though during sleep the power light is only dim and doesn't pulse and the fans keep running so it doesn't really seem like "sleep"). Mostly the power light dims when in sleep and then is unresponsive requiring a hard reset. The most recent development is that after some time instead of going into this nebulous sleep state the computer just shuts down altogether, just like a hard crash, and I have to restart and reset the clock.
I've read many of the posts regarding problematic PCI USB cards and I did have one which I removed, but this didn't have any effect. I've reset the PMU to no effect. I should also point out that the USB ports on the back of my Apple Cinema Display don't work now either and I have to plug the keyboard directly into the Mac (though I can boot the computer from the power button on the keyboard).
Any knowledge or suggestions would be great...

  • PowerBook Will Not Wake from Sleep - Horizontal Lines on Display

I have a new PowerBook that I purchased last December. When my computer goes into sleep mode, it will not wake up unless I do a hard poweroff by holding in the power key for 5 seconds. When it tries to wake from sleep all I see is my mouse cursor on a black screen or the spinning beach ball. I'm also having problems with graphic applications such as Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator where I'm using lines that are only 1 pixel in length. The lines disappear when I drag them across the screen as though I'm missing a whole row of pixels or half of the line is fainter. I also notice very fine horizontal lines throughout my display. My older PowerBook does not have these lines nor this wake from sleep problem.

Contact tech support, it will need to be sent in for repair, and as long as your hardware warranty is good or you have APP the repair will cost nothing. unfortunatly this is basically your only option, unless resetting NVRAM takes care of it. to do that turn off com. hold down option, apple(2 key's left of space bar)and o, f, then turn on while holding those down. when firmware opens up type in reset-nvram, press enter then type in reset-all(include the dash in both)
this will reboot com. if this does not take care of it a repair is needed.

  • Will not wake from sleep mode

When I close then open the lid on my MacBook, it will not wake up from sleep mode.  I have to reboot by holding down the power button for 10 sec.  When it restarts, it takes a long time to get past the gray screen with the apple logo.  I also have this same problem when it goes into sleep mode, when left idle.  I have since changed the settings so it will not go into sleep mode when idle in system preferences.  I have reset PRAM and SMC, but the problem still persists.

I have the same problem, intermittently.  I think it has something to do with full-screen mode, which I use intermittently.  Have you noticed this happening only when you are in a full-screen app?
I also have a MacBook Pro from 2011, and I know for sure my MagSafe power adapter is fine and not part of the problem.
I have noticed a few things that may be hints at what is happening:
one time, (all??) while my screen was basking in the glow of sunlight from the side, I saw that the screen pixels were indeed "on", that the back-light of the screen was just off.
Which led me to the conclusion that my MacBook Pro was indeed waking from sleep, the screen was just not lighting up.
But that theory was disproved this morning, when when waking from sleep, the screen was black, except for my cursor. My cursor was completely visible on a black background.  Huh??  It was like some software was putting up a black modal dialog over the whole screen. Also, the Apple Logo on the back of the laptop screen was fully lit -- meaning the backlight was on.  The machine was awake (curson moving on a black background), and the screen was fully back-lit.
I'm not sure yet how consistent this behavior is...  I will take more careful notes each time this problem happens in the future...  But, it looks like I have rogue software that is trying to make my machine look like it is sleeping.
To "capture" the culprit I think I could set up a hot-key command that takes a snapshot of all running processes in Activity Monitor. This could show what processes are running when "waking" from sleep. nabbing the culprit?
I use Snapz Pro. That is non-standard software running with control over screen functions. Maybe Snapz Pro has a problem?  I doubt it, but maybe, because it has hooks into background tasks with video. Snapz Pro is my only 32-bit process. Could Snapz Pro be the cause?  I use Snapz Pro all the time.
The problem seems to be related to Full-Screen mode.  Could it be possible that full-screen apps sometimes have problems returning from sleep?  I know there are viewControllers responsible for handling events when waking. Could the symptoms of not waking from sleep be caused by bugs in full-screen apps?

  • After installing mavericks, the iMac will not wake from sleep properly (at all)

I've upgraded to 10.9 (late 2012 21" iMac), and I notice in the morning when the iMac has been sleeping overnight, it will not wake up,
During the day, if it sleeps for a few hours, it seems fine, and wakes normally, prompting me to type my password,
In the morning however, I hit a key (on my wireless keyboard), and the display wakes up, I get a dark grey screen, and see the loading circle (not the beachball) in the middle, and see the cursor for a few seconds, before it then disappears, and reappears.
    This cycle repeats itself,
The 'fix' is to do a forced shutdown by holding the powwer button until it shuts down, and then restart.
Anyone else find this problem/find a solution?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and  Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • I want to use Back to my Mac, but my iMac using wireless LAN will not wake from sleep

I've read a ton of posts, and it seems that others have similar problems.
Here are some details: I have a 2 year old iMac now running updated install of Yosemite. I have a brand new MBP running clean install of Yosemite.
I have a 2 year old AirPort Extreme connecting my home wireless LAN. How can I get my MBP to connect to my iMac using Back to my Mac once the iMac has gone to sleep. Back to my Mac works if all computers are active.
The appropriate energy saver selections have been made. Leaving the iMac awake is not an option.
it just doesn't seem to work. No wake on wireless LAN?
    Help please

Someone else may come along and have an idea, but as far as I know the iMac shuts off wifi when asleep so it can't be used to wake up the Mac. It has to be a wired connection.
Leaving the iMac awake with the display off really doesn't use much energy so it might be worth considering.

  • My Mac mini locks up intermittently or will not wake from sleep what should I look for

Has this anything to do with flash

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
Make sure the title of the Console window is All Messages. If it isn't, select All Messages from the SYSTEM LOG QUERIES menu on the left. If you don't see that menu, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes) in the search box. Note the timestamps of those log messages, which refer to the times when the system was booted. Now clear the search box and scroll back in the log to the last boot time after  you had the problem. Select the messages logged before the boot, while the system was unresponsive or was failing to shut down. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message (command-V). Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the end of the log extract.
If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
Still in Console, look under System Diagnostic Reports for crash or panic logs, and post the entire contents of the most recent one, if any. In the interest of privacy, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if present (it may not be.) Please don’t post any other kind of report—it will be very long and not helpful.

  • I have a mac mini which will not wake from sleep mode since installing yosemite.

The cursor moves when using a track pad and magic mouse, but I can't click on anything. Also computer always starts in safe mode now.
Am I the only one having this problem. I have sent the error messages to Apple, but have not seen any updates that might address this issue.
I now have to turn off the sleep function which don't seem right to me. Any advice would be appreciated.

I have a similar issue with my MBP, it's been on-going for a while but I just never had time to stop and deal with it.
This week I had a new logic board put in, low and behold it's still doing it (I get a kernel panic after resume).
Trying to track it down myself now. AHT and everything says the hardware is fine, fresh install (erase with 0 on disk) and all updates, no 3rd party software.
