HP 15t - j100 Warranty Information

Hello,I purchased a HP Envy through Costco.com. They provide an extended 2-year warranty over the manufacturers 1-year warranty. My computer is not performing correctly (freezing or corrupting when physically moved, processing power reduced, ect.) due to what I believe is either lack of/degredation of thermal paste or damage to motherboard from something other than normal use. I have yet to speak to anyone from Costco but their website advises me to look at the product warranty for more information on coverage. Unfortunatly when I type in my serial number to look up my warranty information it says it is expired and I am unable to find any information (as the product is not under HP 1-year warranty but still under the 2-year Costco warranty). I would like to see my product warranty information and check my options. Again there has been no damage to the unit (i.e. falling damage/water damage) and has been handled properly. Any info would be appreciated!

HP would not take any responsibility to replace the faulty parts when the 1 Year Standard/Base Warranty is completed As you have clearly mentioned that the extended warranty for this Notebook is with the reseller/point of purchase/costco, the only point of contact for free support and free parts will be costco only. Incase if you require support and service from HP for your Notebook it would be a paid support only  Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again  **Click the White Thumbs Up Button on the right to say Thanks**Make it easier for other people to find solutions by marking a Reply 'Accept as Solution' if it solves your problem. Thank You,GBL84Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP

  • Where Are the Drivers? Envy 15t-J100 Touchsmart

If I do a search for drivers for my laptop it shows nothing. HP ENVY TouchSmart 15t-j100 Quad Edition Is this normal? Does HP sometimes take down divers for a computer? About the only thing I can think of why they don't have anything up is because of Windows 8.1??

It certainly doesn't look as if HP follows thru because there are still no drivers posted as of July 2015.  I too am looking for the drivers to my laptop.  Are they trying to force me to pay for support?Paul_Tikkanen wrote:

I understand that you accidentally spilled water on the notebook and need to replace the hard drive due to this.  You did not create your recovery CDs.
I know you stated you cannot order online as you are not currently in the states.
You did not state which exact model of ENVY TouchSmart 15t-j100 you have so I just chose one.
Here is a link to Order software and driver media.  If as you state you are unable to order, because you are out of the United States here are two options for you to consider.
If you know someone in the United States that could order  it for you and  then have it shipped to you  or call HP support to inquire about obtaining the recovery USB.

  • CAN HP Envy 15t j100 Support 2 external monitors?

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how to connect 2 external Dell monitors with HDMI inputs, to my Envy 15t j100. The evy has only 1 HDMI out port.  The Envy also has 4 USB 3.0 ports. Ideally, I would like the option to use all 3 displays (The Envy's and the 2 externals.)  But would be satisfied with just the 2 externals, extended 1 to the other, for desktop work. Any ideas? Is this possible?

    Hi,
Unfortunately you can't use one HDMI port to connect to two monitor even with a HDMI spliter. You need a small investment to buy a piece of hardware and you can setup like:
Actually Dell monitor is the one on the left hand side. Two external monitors are all FHD. Please watch the following video:

  • Has anyone managed to get HP Warranty Information into SCCM?

Has anyone managed to get HP Warranty Information into SCCM?
I have tried a few scripts that I found on the net but none of them seem to work as I believe HP updated there site this year..

OK, I played around a bit (scripting from a web page isn't way beyond me) but... a few caveats.  My lab isn't available right now; so all I could test was that the script ran on an HP laptop.  A single HP laptop.  and created the regkeys in
(in my case) HKLM\software\wow6432node\CompanyName\WarrantyInformation.  So... one single test on one single workstation, and no testing of the mof edit means... I'll need your help to confirm it works.
Anyway, below is the script.  Other caveats:  It drops a log, and then continuously adds to the log file in %temp% (of the SYSTEM, which is using %windir%\temp).  So depending upon what you want/need--you may want to change the EnableLogging
= True to EnableLogging = False (once you confirm it works on all/most of your boxes).  The other caveat, of course, is to change the sCompanyname = to be your Company Name; although I suggest you don't have spaces or special characters in it.  Short
'n' sweet.  Then, naturally, once you have a box with the regkeys, use Mark Cochrane's RegKeytoMof 3.0 or higher to build the mof edits for you to paste to the bottom of your configuration.mof and sms_def.mof.  In that blog above Eric Schloss was
using DCM as the delivery method to deliver the script to populate the regkeys--that worked for him and I see no reason it wouldn't work for everyone--so once you've tested the script interactively from a psexec -s -i cmd.exe shell on an hp box (to see it
create the regkeys) I'd make a DCM like Eric did and target a collection with a few HP laptops or desktops and confirm it works via the DCM.
Anyway, give this a try--again... only tested on 1 single, lonely little HP laptop.  Needs a bigger test base!
Edit:  and... even using Regkeytomof sometimes regkeys can be tricky.  If the mof edit doesn't work right to pull the data back, post what you've added.  someone here can usually spot if there's something not right about it and help you fix
    the mof edit.
Edit #2: removed bad space, and bad copy/paste job as discovered by sevengs.  Thanks!

  • How to capture warranty information in CRM

    Dear all,
How can we enter product warranty information in CRM system. We don't have equipment master data in ECC.
we need to enter warranty information in CRM and we need to link it with the relevant Product in the ECC system.
we want system to show / determine this warranty information at the time of service order or complaint creation.
when creating subsequent Return Order or Credit memo in ECC we need to capture this warranty information for the Reporting purpose.
What is the standard SAP solution for this requirement, and what configuration need to be done to achieve this.
Please educate me in the above scenario. Your help and suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    Best regards

    Hi,
This can not be done using script logic.
This can also not be done using stored procedure, as this data is not stored in the <<Appset>> DB database table.
You can only get these information, in the data Audit logs, if it is enabled (will slow down the performance abruptly).
And, these data audit logs are not in <<Appset>> DB database, its in <<AppsetExtra>> DB database.
But this is logged only after the data is sent. So it is upto you to create a stored procedure to get these values and utilize it accordingly.
Or you can create a custom stored procedure to be invoked directly from excel when they are sending the data. The disadvantage here is, the procedure will be called only if the data is sent from that particular sheet.
    Hope this helps.

  • HP Envy 15t-J100 Nvidia Graphics card issue.

Hello, I recently bought a HP Envy 15t-j100. I was under the impression that it came with a NVIDIA Geforce GT 740m graphics driver ( even has the sticker on the laptop) and a HP Intel HD 4600 driver. However when I went to device manager and looked at the display drivers, the Nvidia driver was not there. The only driver that was there was the Intel HD one. I then decided to go to the nvidia website and download the latest driver, but that didn't work because it told me it couldn't continue due to imcompatibility. I'm confused, I have the sticker that tells me that I "have" the nvidia geforce graphics card, but in device manager I don't see it. Help!

  • Cannot find warranty information for T500 - 2081 RR1

    Hello,
I've bought a Lenovo T500 laptop last month.
I am trying to find all the warranty information and status, but I seem to me unable.
The type is 2081 RR1. (There is no RR1 anywhere on this site)
I think I've sent a letter to the support two weeks ago, and there is no reponse.
    Why is not 2081-RR1 listed?
    Any help appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Sincerely,
    Anatoliy Kim

    Hi anatolekim,
    Welcome to Lenovo Forum!
To check the warranty availability, please access Lenovo Warranty Lookup page. Key in your Type 2081 and your serial number. RR1 is not needed unless you are looking for drivers, then you may need it.
    Hope this helps.

How can the 15t-j100 weight .8 lbs less than the 15-j171nr?  Both have same size screen, same battery.  I am looking for the lightest i7-4700MQ.  What would I be missing with the 15t-j100 that is present in the 15-j171nr?

The 15-j171nr comes as-is.  You would start with the other model if you wanted to customize the build.

    Hi,
Well, going back over your last 2 posts. Everything you mention points to a conflict between Firefox and Adobe's Flash. It's no secret that Firefox v. 31.0 has and is having a lot of problems. You can find this all over the web in a google search. As you've narrowed down the issue, the only suggest I have is checking out the Firefox forums(http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38) or Adobe's(https://forums.adobe.com/community/flashplayer). Maybe one of the two have a work-a-round or fix.
You did make note that you thought IE was having an issue, this seems to have just "fixed" itself with flash. If you reinstalled or updated flash, that could have been the trick.
If the issue occurs again from multiple sources, please let me know.

A broken screen is not covered by the warranty.  Here is a list of out-of-warranty replacement pricing: http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/service/prices/ You do not need any information to get this price.

  • WLAN for HP ENVY 15t-j100 Quad Edition Notebook PC

I just purchased a HP ENVY 15t-j100 Quad Edition Notebook PC with Windows 7 (February 2014).
It comes with 802.11bgn 1×1 WLAN module, which is not satisfactory so I would like to upgrade the WLAN to an Intel 7260ac.
According to the user manual, the following two parts are the only WLAN whitelisted by the BIOS:
    #1:
    Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 ac 1×1 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter
    Spare part number = 710662-001
    #2:
Intel Dual Band Wireless 7260 802.11 bgn 2×2 WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 Combo Adapter
    Spare part number = 717384-001
I cannot find any of these models anywhere! I do find a 710661-001 on Amazon (which would be great if the BIOS accepts it! and good price too at about $35).
Could someone tell me if I can put this WLAN card (710661-001 on Amazon) or where to buy the HP approved #1 and/or #2 card listed above?
    Thank you!

Hi Arnaud_, welcome to the HP Forums. Unfortunately if the parts are not in the user manual I cannot guarantee they will work. You can try to buy it from HP PartSurfer.

  • ENVY TouchSmart 15t-j100 Quad Edition mSSD cache & Ram options

    Good day all,
I've ordered the ENVY TouchSmart 15t-j100 Quad Edition from HP directly and during the configuration, it was mentioned that I could not configure the notebook with both the 24Gb mSSD Hard Drive Acceleration Cache AND 16Gb of Ram. I wondered if it was a memory slot usage issue but I can configure with either 2x4Gb or 1x8Gb with no warning. Is it possible to add another 8Gb (as I ordered it with 1x8Gb) after getting this laptop or would having the mSSD Cache actually prohibit this?
    Thanks for any help offered.
    Richard
*not sure if it's of any consequence to the issue but the Hard Drive ordered for this system was a Hybrid.
    This question was solved.

It is not a physical problem with blockage of the memory slot but having 16 gigs of RAM means the cache drive may not work right. The cache drive has to be able to store everything in memory and then certain other files and the HP designers have decided it would take a bigger cache drive to work right with more than 8 gigs of RAM.
