HP 2000-2d19WM Missing Many Drivers!

Hello all:
I have an HP 2000-2d19WM Notebook PC running W7 Professional, and it is missing many drivers! These drivers include:
- Ethernet Controller
- Network Controller
- PCI Device
- SM Bus Controller
I went to the driver section of this website for this specific notebook and it didn't support any of the drivers due to the fact that I am running W7. Any help at all would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!
This question was solved.

  • After "make oldconfig" missing many drivers

I´m building kernel packages this way: I take the pkgbuild from 2.6.14 and change it to version 2.6.15RC5. I copy the config from the old kernel into the folder for the new package. Then I start the build. When the new sources are unpacked  I break it and cd to src/linux2614. There I remove all the config and .config files.
Then I copy the old config file there and run "make oldconfig". Only a few changes to make. But after that the size of the config drops from 49KB to 25kb and when I do a diff I see lots of drivers missing and many are changed from "y" or "m" to "n".
Do I something wrong and what way use our kernel maintainers :?:

In the official PKGBUILD, change this line:

When you run makepkg now, it will go automatically into oldconfig, and continue the build when you're finished.
enabling make oldconfig in the PKGBUILD file doesn't seem to give me chance to move my old .config file to the source directory.  I achieved the same by ctrl-z to pause makepkg and then copying the my .config flie to the appropriate directory.  Surely there is an easier way to configure with  an old .config and makepkg.  This whole process seems a lot more complicted than using the old /usr/src method.  There it is just a question of
    make old_config
    make && make modules_install
    Coulnd't be easier.

  • Can SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 drivers co-exist in PI?

    Hi,
Currently in our PI environment, we have JDBC Adapter connections to SQL 2000 database servers for which the Driver has already been installed.
For connecting to new SQL 2005 database servers, I understand that we have to install the SQL 2005 drivers. I also came to know that SQL 2005 Driver is backward compatible and supports JDBC connection to SQL 2000 server.
But the question I have is whether both the SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 drivers can be installed together in a way that connection to SQL 2000 use the 2000 driver and the connection to 2005 uses 2005 Driver.
    (They have different connection strings)
    Many thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Rosie Sasidharan

The SQL Server 2005 JDBC driver is far better than the SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver.  The 2005 JDBC driver primarily consists for one file, sqljdbc.jar.  ( if you want to use windows authentication there is another file you would need based on your platform x64 vs x86 called sqljdbc_auth.dll. If in the connect string you list ;integratedSecurity=true which means integrated security would be used and this second file would be required.  The 2000 driver did not support integrated security.
The SQL 2000 JDBC driver was made up of the 3 jar files:
    msbase.jar,mssqlserver.jar and msutil.jar.
If you want to use a Microsoft JDBC driver to connect to SQL Server 2005, than you should use the 2005 driver, sqljdbc.jar.
Follow the instructions in point 1 of the note #831162 - FAQ: XI 3.0 / PI 7.0 / PI 7.1 JDBC Adapter questions 1 and 13.
Since the jar are different I assume you can use the both drivers, but it doesnt make sense.

  • Reinstalling Tiger: Software Update Missing Many Updates

I've seen a few similar topics on this issue, but only in so far as Software Update missing an update here or an update there. I am currently reinstalling Tiger on a Power Macintosh G3 B&W that has been heavily upgraded. The system specs are as follows..
1GHz PowerLogix G3 (using MAChSpeed to enable full processor speed since the included CPU Director software won't work in 10.4.11)
    1GB of RAM
128MB Radeon 9200 Graphics card connected to an LG 1952 display and set to 1440x900 / millions of colors
I'd go on, but the remainder of the hardware upgrades should have no effect on Software Update to the best of my knowledge. Previously I had this machine running 10.4.11, and through the Software Update program I had installed all of the recommended updates, which included numerous security updates, Safari 4.0.3, and iTunes 8.2.1. Everything was running perfectly smoothly, but after having tested several software configurations and having decided on one in particular, I set out to reinstall Tiger from scratch in order to keep things as clean as possible. I've tried several different times now with the same results each time. Once the system is up and running, regardless of whether or not I install MAChSpeed before or after running Software Update, Software Update simply does not provided all of the updates that I believe are actually there. It did see and did allow me to install the following updates..
10.4.11 Combo update (I installed this one separately before any other updates)
    Java 1.3.1 and 1.4.2 Release 2
    iTunes Phone Driver 1.0
    Migration and DVD/CD Sharing Update
    Quicktime 7.6.4
    Security Update 2009-005 (PPC)
    J2SE 5.0 Release 4
Java for Mac OS X 10.4, release 5
    [ditto], release 6
    [ditto], release 7
    [ditto], release 8
    [ditto], release 9
Unless Security Update 2009-005 is meant to be a combined security update (doubtful), there are obviously several security updates that are missing. Also, I'm surprised that Software Update saw and installed Quicktime 7.6.4 but didn't see or install the latest PPC versions of iTunes or Safari. Safari 4.0.3 as I understand requires Security Update 2009-002, so naturally it would not see or install Safari without that update being installed first. While I don't necessarily mind installing updates manually (downloading them individually off Apple's support site and then installing by hand), I really prefer using Software Update to better automate the process. Up until now I have never had any problems with Software Update, but this problem is certainly aggravating. My primary concern is that I have no idea what updates are necessary and what updates are not necessary to ensure proper and relatively secure operation of my system, and I have no way of knowing whether or not Software Update will see any future updates (provided that Apple continues to support Tiger for a little while longer). If Software Update is missing crucial updates out of the gate, how can I be sure that it will see any further crucial updates that may hopefully be released?
I know that's part question / part rant, but I've been wracking my brain for the past few days over this one. Any information that could help solve this problem will definitely be appreciated, especially since my B&W is my preferred browsing machine.
Incidentally, my iBook, a Clamshell FW SE, is currently running the same setup that my B&W was previously running.. 10.4.11 with Quicktime 7.6.4, iTunes 8.2.1, and Safari 4.0.3, so as far as I can tell, this shouldn't be hardware related (my iBook is far less powerful than my B&W currently is). Also, a cursory glance at the Installed Updates list on my iBook definitely shows that my Software Update on my B&W is missing many updates.

I reformatted the drive first and did a clean install. I'm currently in the process of downloading the standalone installers for Safari 4.0.3 and iTunes 8.2.1. It's looking like that's the solution at present, but I'm still curious as to why Software Update won't see any iTunes or Safari updates within the current system configuration's capabilities (speaking to both apps possibly being cumulative). I can't see Software Update simply not having those updates because there is newer version out, if indeed they are cumulative, since that would mean that anyone reinstalling or upgrading on an older machine would be forced to perform some of the updates manually where not too long ago they would have been able to simply use Software Update as a "one stop" solution.
Oh well, maybe I'm just being too picky . I've had to deal with running around in circles to find software updates for manual installs for years with Windows systems, and Apple's "one stop" Software Update system was a wonderful, welcome change to that.

  • Quick filter misses many matches. Why?

The Quick Filter is missing many matches, even for email created minutes before. Oddly, this only seems to be happening in "Sent" folders. Folders have 500 to 1000 messages. Inbox has many more and the quick filter does seem to work there. Quick filter misses matches in the body text only. Matches subject and other fields correctly. Does not miss all matches in the body ... older messages appear to be matched more often.
I tried normal search and it does find all the expected messages. I also tried rebuilding the global database with no change in behavior.
    Any suggestions?

  • 2000 2d19WM

I really don't want to open my notebook if it isn't completely necessary to avoid getting it dirtied, so before I go about doing so, can I upgrade the hardware in my 2000 2d19WM, or is the board integrated? I was thinking of slowly upgrading it starting with the processor, switching to an intel i5 or better, then upgrading the graphics card, adding additional RAM and over time gutting the rig to give it much more power. I essentially got this as a scab PC and a shell, but if I have to keep it stock then I won't really complain.
My graphics card is already chugging along pretty hard to run 2 screens simultaneously using graphics arts programs (DAZ3D and Unity on either screen). I'm planning on turning this into a good rig for design, but I could just use this for media and storage if I need. I'm planning on building a tower when I can afford to do so, but for now I'd like to improve my notebook to make it into as good a machine as I can.
If I can't upgrade this, any recommendations on a laptop I can modify?

    Hi,
The following link shows its specs:
        http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c03905124
Two items you can upgrade: RAM and the HDD.
    (a) For RAM: You can upgrade to 8GB given you are running 64bit OS,
    (b) For HDD: you can upgrade to a faster HDD (say 7200RPM) or even an SSD. SSD's are much cheaper now.
Upgrading other components won't make any sense UNLESS you are planning to throw your money to a bin. Even so, not practical.
    Regards.

  • HP 2000-2d19WM Notebook Windows 7 64-bit Drivers

My friend recently gave me her laptop and told me it was very slow and was having several problems. I took a look at it and it's riddled with malware and adware. After discussing it with her, she said she'd like if I could install Windows 7 on it for her.
The laptop is running Windows 8.1, and I honestly at first thought it would be simple to just throw the disc in and install Windows 7. But I did my research on it.
I think I understand how to get past the UEFI and actually isntall the OS, the only problem I have is I can't find all the necessary drivers for this specific model of PC for Windows 7 64-bit. I see that HP only offers complete driver sets for Windows 8 and 8.1.
Where could I get all the necessary drivers needed for this model of PC for Windows 7 64-bit? Thanks!

  • I deleted my iPhone, and now I'm missing many iCloud contacts

I had to erase my iPhone (long story) and after doing that, I noticed that many contacts were missing.  No problem, I figured, I just have to make sure I'm syncing to iCloud and I'll be fine. WRONG!  The contacts are now missing from iCloud itself.  This is very frustrating.  I just cleaned up all my contacts (deleted old ones, updated new ones, etc.) and now many are totally missing, and some of the old ones I deleted are back.
To be clear, this is not an issue with my phone.  This is on iCloud.com.  The reset of the phone is simply what made me notice it.
And to anticipate what I may be asked:  (1) In my Contacts on my Mac, the contacts in the "on my mac" section are showing up, when yesterday they weren't there.  (yesterday I could only see iCloud contacts)  (2) I did a Time Machine backup about a week ago, so that could get me my missing contacts, but still won't help with all the work I did recently.  (3) My last iPhone backup (to my Mac) is over 2 years old.  I've been using iCloud, so didn't see the need for a hard backup.
Not sure why/how resetting an iPhone would affect iCloud (which should be operating independently) but it seems to have done exactly that.  I'm stuck.  I need those contacts back!  Any assistance would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you!

Update:  I reset my phone again and this time I restored it from my last iCloud backup.  That "sort of" worked.  (The missing info was on my phone temporarily, but it's still missing from iCloud.com and as the phone syncs with the cloud the missing contacts are disappearing.)
This is good news, but I'm losing progress.  How can I restore my iCloud settings to that last backup?

  • Solaris 10: T1000/2000 combination, how many using it?

    Hi,
    Just wanted to know
    - how many of them are using T1000/2000 and Solaris 10?
-For which applications and kind of application loads?
    - Don't they feel that because T1000/2000 only support Solaris 10, its a bottle-neck for them?

if you very much prefer 'Apache' then you can get this done by downloading tomcat.
but, why go through the trouble, when web server 7 - which supports solaris 10 and can also run java web applications with lot more bells and whistles. if you have not , please check the what'z new features

What are you trying to accomplish? Why do you want to connect your Note to the W520?
I have a W530 and know nothing about the W520, so if there are relevant differences I know nothing about them. My discussion will be about the W530 and you'll have to know or determine that what I'm saying for the W530 is inapplicable to your W520.
Anyway, I have no problem setting up my W530 to be a "WiFi Hotspot", which my Samsung Galaxy S4 phone can then locate with its WiFi scannng... not BlueTooth. So if I want to use Internet access capability provided by the W530 as WiFi connection (not BlueTooth) for the phone, I can do that.
Of course I can also configure my phone to just connect to the wireless router in my home, again using WiFi in the phone (not BlueTooth).  This is essentially the same effect as having the phone go through the W530 and then through therouter, except in this setup the phone goes directly to the router to get to the Internet.
Is that all you're trying to accomplish... getting Internet WiFi access for your Note via your W520's internet connection?
Or are you wanting something else... such as accessing the storage on your Note using Windows Explorer on the W520? That's a different type of connection, which requires drivers installed on Windows to support MTP device connections, which is how the phone connects when using a USB cable.  This is not BlueTooth connection (e.g. when your phone connects to your car's BlueTooth system), but rather a plain MTP connection via USB (e.g. same as many digital cameras connect when you plug them into a USB port on the computer).
I have installed a product named PdaNet+FoxFI to provide MTP driver support (via USB cable) to Windows.  PdaNet+ also provides BlueTooth connection between phone and W530.  PdaNet+ also supports WiFi Hotspot on the phone without requiring a $20/month service charge by Sprint.  There is a component that gets installed on the PC, and a second Android app that gets installed on the phone.  Once everything is installed in both places and everything is setup properly and configured correctly, there are two basic functions that are now enabled when the phone is conncted to the W530 via USB cable:
    (1) the phone shows up in Windows Explorer, and its internal phone and external card storage are both visible directly for drag/drop, move/copy, etc. functionality of Explorer
    (2) The internet connection of the phone is made available to the W530 via the USB cable (i.e. "USB tethering"), thus making the phone's Internet connection be usable by the W530... through the USB cable connection.  The phone can be getting to the Internet either through external service provider (e.g. 3G/4G from Sprint), or via WiFi (e.g. through home LAN wireless router), and however the Internet is reached that becomes the pathway for the W530 to connect (through the USB tethering connection to the phone, which is functionally just another network connection like home wired or wireless or general WiFi).
Note that the PdaNet+ software also supports connecting the W530 to the phone via BlueTooth, but I honestly don't know why that would be of value  It's certainly not the same as an MTP connection which supports Explorer being able to see the internal/external storage on the phone.  I've not been successful in getting things configured with BlueTooth connection so that I can get the phone to have Internet access through the W530, or the W530 to have Internet access through the phone... when they are connected via BlueTooth.  This has only worked when using either (1) USB cable connection from phone to W530, or (2) WiFi from phone to the WiFi hotspot of the W530.
So... again, what are you trying to do between your Note and your W520?  BlueTooth may be the wrong approach, and/or PdaNet+FoxFI may be your best solution.

    Hi:
For the first one you need the AMD chipset driver at the link below.  First download listed.
    http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/raid_windows.aspx#2
The next one is the realtek card reader driver you need.
    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=US&swItem=ob-839...
The next one is the wired network controller. Download and install the 5th one on the list (auto install).

  • Leopard Drop in CPU missing Windows Drivers

    Hi there,
I have a Leopard Drop-in DVD that was posted out to me after I bought my MacbookPro 17" with Tiger (in the eligible time period) a couple of years ago now.
Thing is, when I try to do the whole Windows thing, Boot Camp runs and partitions, etc. and I can install Vista, but when I put in my DVD into Windows (Vista) to install drivers, nothing happens!
Through some rudimentary research, I've discovered that the diskimage.dmg file in my bootcamp contents is missing.
How can I fix this? Anybody have any ideas? I tried to download the update - but Vista says (predictably enough) that the update requires previous software, which obviously isn't installed!

*Hi rcar, Welcome* to Apple's Users Help Users Forums.
IMHO be thankful it came w Tiger. Use a partitioned FWHD and put one OS on a partition w the other OS on the Internal HD. The other partition should be rather large for Time Machine. You might consider more partitions for Bootable BUs. TM is not bootable.
    Good Luck, JP

  • Loaded runtime but missing visa drivers?

I created an executeable on one pc and loaded it onto another with just the runtime engine installed.  Now the serial visa's will not work so I am assuming I am missing some visa drivers.  What would the best way to get these loaded, if in fact that is the issue?  The PC is no longer in my possession so I would have to do this by sending files and have the operator manually load them.
I have another PC at the location that does have the drivers.  Is there anyway to copy and paste the required folders or do I need to use an installer?
    Thanks in advance.
    LV 8.2.1
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    CTBK,
You need to install the NI-VISA Runtime Engine on the target machine.  Make sure to install the same version as the NI-VISA installed on your development machine.
P.S.  Best way to handle this is to create an installer that installs the .exe, LV Runtime Engine, NI-VISA Runtime Engine and any other supporting software.

I put a clean install of Mavericks on a couple weeks ago.  I always boot verbose and watch the output so I can note any changes and follow up on them.  A few days ago a very obvious change occurred...  when it gets to the loading drivers section very early on it went from displaying just a couple of lines of dots (.....) to displaying a couple of dozen.  I like to run a very clean system with only the things I am actively using loading up.  I also have a very simple system and have no reason for this change.  How do I find out what's going on?
    thanks

Ah, I glanced over that, it's called make localyesconfig.  See this.
    1.8. Easy local kernel configuration
Most people uses the kernel shipped by distros - and that's good. But some people like to compile their own kernels from kernel.org, or maybe they like following the Linux development and want to try it. Configuring your own kernel, however, has become a very difficult and tedious task - there're too many options, and some times userspace software will stop working if you don't enable some key option. You can use a standard distro .config file, but it takes too much time to compile all the options it enables.
To make the process of configuration easier, a new build target has been added: make localmodconfig. It runs "lsmod" to find all the modules loaded on the current running system. It will read all the Makefiles to map which CONFIG enables a module. It will read the Kconfig files to find the dependencies and selects that may be needed to support a CONFIG. Finally, it reads the .config file and removes any module "=m" that is not needed to enable the currently loaded modules. With this tool, you can strip a distro .config of all the unuseful drivers that are not needed in our machine, and it will take much less time to build the kernel. There's an additional "make localyesconfig" target, in case you don't want to use modules and/or initrds.
...it's unclear to me how hard-coding the modules into the kernel will boost performance though.
