HP 2050 deskjet all in one -- will scan but won't print from this computer

My deskjet 2050 will scan from both of my macbook computers, but will only print from one.  It gives an "on hold" message whenever I print from this computer.  Then I hit "resume" and it says "nothing is being held."  I have already downloaded and re-installed the driver, and it didn't make any difference.
It prints fine from the other computer, but it's a pain to have that limitation.

I see you're running into print issues.  I would like to help with that!
What version of mac are you using?
I would suggest deleting the printer from your print system, using this document: Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once you have deleted it, I would suggest verifying and repairing the disk permissions: About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature.
I would also suggest running your Apple updates:  OS X: Updating OS X and Mac App Store apps
After the updates, I would recommend reinstalling the HP Deskjet 2050 All-in-One Printer.

    Welcome to the HP Forums.
    I see that you are having an issue with scanning and printing from a select few sites.
    I have a few steps that we can try to troubleshoot this issue.
    First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
    As for printing from web pages, please make sure that you have your firewall or anti virus settings turned down as well as the Pop-up blocker disabled.  If this does not resolve the issue, maybe try another web browser such as Mozilla fire fox or Google Chrome.
    As for the scanning issue,  so I can better assist you, please respond with which Operating System you are running:

  • Hp deskjet 1050 j410 will scan but won't print.

    discovered prob when I tried to use the software cd. obviously faulty.  so then downloaded the s/ware from the web. this loads ok except for 'add new printer' option.  I then get message that the Library isn't registered.  have tried every help
    suggestion and still no further forward.  I know it's something beyond my novice capabilities. so can some real bright spark
    help PLEASE.

    Open the Sharing pane in System Preferences. If the Computer Name is not set, enter a name. You may first have to click the lock icon in the lower left corner and authenticate to unlock the settings.

  • C5140 All-In-One - page in queue won't print (Vista)

    After hard drive crashed in July, got new hard drive (OS Vista still). Installed printer - fine . Used recently, wouldn't print - the page would get held up in the queue. Reinstalled printer disk, message said I needed new driver, installed one 11/15, everything worked fine. Today, 11/16, went to print from MS Word, page stuck in queue again.

    It sounds like an issue with the print spooler in the services. I would suggest running the HP Print and Scan Doctor. The HP Print and Scan Doctor (PSDR) was designed by HP to provide users with the troubleshooting and problem solving features needed to resolve many common problems experienced with HP print and scan products connected to Windows-based computers.
    Please let me know the outcome of the PSDR. I will respond back with the specific troubleshooting steps depending on what the PSDR says. With any luck the PSDR will resolve the issue and you'll be printing in no time.

  • New HP Pavillion All-in-one PC 20-b014 ( and moving information from old computer)

    I apologize if this has been asked before....but would appreciate some assistance.
    I currently have a HP Pavilion Slimline s5310y desktop PC (running Windows 7) and just purchased the HP Pavillion All-in-one PC 20-b014(Windows 8).  I was wondering if it was possible to migrate some of my information directly from my old computer to my new computer.  If not, what would be the best/easiest  way to move some of the current information (Turbo tax folders and Itunes) to my new computer.
    My knowledge base in this process is limited, so if it can be explained in a  "For Dummies" fashion, it would be greatly appreciated.

    for change the information use a usb or pendrive, the software itunes dont is posible because only woks with every laptop
    you need run one more time software itunes on new laptop
    or check with support itunes

  • HP2540 A-i-O Scans but won't print. Windows 8.1

    My new PC, running Windows 8.1, forced me to buy a new printer, as it doesn't support drivers for my old 6122!
    I have installed the printer for wireless operation, through my home hub,  and Diagnostic Results says "No problems found."  All results are "Pass".  The printer is listed in Devices and in the document print menu, and on trying to print a document, the doc appears in the Print Queue for about 10 seconds, and then disappears without registering on the printer's counter.
    The printer scans perfectly!
    Print & Scanner Doctor downloads, but stops during extraction, saying that it has encountered an (unspecified) error.
    This has been frustrating me for several days, as I have tried everything.

    I understand you're experiencing print issues.  I would like to help!
    I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
    Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
    Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.

  • My podcasts won't download from the computer to my ipod touch all of a sudden!

    All of a sudden my podcasts won't download from the computer to the ipod touch anymore.  It still downloads changes in music and apps, but it just seems to be podcasts.  Can anybody help me diagnose my problem?

    If they are video podcasts, they now appear in the Video app after iOS 5.

  • HP Deskjet 3520 All-in-one, after scan get message that I don't have enough memory.

    HP  deskjet 3520  A-I-O. Using Win 7, SP1.
    Scan using Paper Port 12 to main desktop folder. Been doing it for weeks  with no problem. All of a sudden I get a message after the scan that the printer doen't have enough memory to put the scan in the desktop folder. Tells me to turn off other running programs. There are no other programs running other than the ones I have had in the background during the privious hundred scans. Just in case I unpinned several shortcuts on the deaktop and from the Start bar. Still says not enough memory.
    Turned everything off and back on...no change. Just prior I did change some of my default settings concerning my browser and CD/DVD, but nothing regarding the All-in-One.
    I know that the printer puts data in memory before printing but I thiught that it was a temp file. Is there a place where information is stored long term? And if so can I clear it? What am I missing?

    My C7280 all in one will no longer scan to my computer. I get an error message that says "no scan options, refer to device documentation to troubleshoot". I have tried all I know. I have re-downloaded the origianl disc software numerous times to no avail. I have gone on line to download the software to no avail. I just get a message that states there was an error in the download.

  • HP Office Jet J6480 All In One - will not scan with Mac OS 10.8 .3

    I have been unable to get my HP Office Jet J6480 All In One to scan after upgrading to 10.8.3.I have followed other posts and have installed the most up to date driver (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907) but each time i try to scan from the HP device manager or the photosmart studio, it says "Sorry, scanner could not be intialized. (scanner not found)"  I have tried making sure there are no other updates by clicking on settings in the device manager and clicking check for updates but it tells me "server not availalbe - the software service is currently not available. please try again later" and i have gotten this error for the last week.
    I followed the second set of instructions found here: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Mac-Printing-and-Scanning/HP-Software-Update-Server-Unavailable/td-p/18... to try to resolve that issue and have installed the software found at the link. I rebooted my computer and am still having the same problem.
    Note: My printer is wireless and i have not hooked it up via a cord. Will that make a difference?
    My printer seems to be printing fine.

    Try scanning from your Mac.  Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
    Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom.  Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.
