HP 2335 Monitor - need adaptor to connect to Lenovo ThinkPad laptop

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop (Ultrabook) that I want to hook up to my HP 2335 external monitor.  I need an adaptor cable but do not know which is the correct adaptor.  I see on my monitor that I have a 15 pin female port.  Can I get an adaptor with a male connector to connect into the monitor and a USB connect to connect into the laptop?  Can I get an adaptor for the original cable that came with the monitor ( I think it is DVI?), that has a USB connector?
If anyone knows how to do this please forward guidance along with technical specifics (description, brand, model number, etc)
Thanks

  • M92Z like monitor display port in connect to DVI thinkpad ultra dock

I´m coneccting a thinkpad ultra dock DVI to M92Z display port in, but not work, the monitor is in black. I´m using a DVI cable and a DVI to Display port adapter (43N9160).

DVI (computer) to ADC (display) adapters are only for LCDs, not CRTs. Most do not pass trough the analog video signals needed for a CRT, and do not provide enough power. I have seen reports that the Gefen DVI to ADC adapter
<http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=1203> does pass the video signals, but the power supply gets VERY hot when running a CRT. You could replace the supply with a bigger one. I think you need 28V 4A.

  • Need help connecting my lenovo z51 laptop to my HP Deskjet 2050.

I connected the printer directly to computer and it looked like the computer downloaded some drivers but it doesnt work. Please advise. It also said the computer needed some kind of app.. Thanks.

Greetings , I would be delighted to help you with getting your Deskjet 2050 installed on your Windows 8.1 computer.
When you plug in a USB cable to the computer, it will initiate the Plug n' Play automated device detection, configuration and will search for basic drivers. Only thing is, this usually will not provide you with enough software to use your printer. So here's what you can do to get the full printer software;First, you will want to remove the USB cable you have connected. (Temporary)Next would be to Download the newest software package from here; HP Deskjet Full Feature Software and DriversOpen the file, and follow the on-screen instructions, and only connect the USB cable when prompted. (Screen will show a diagram of how to connect the cable)  Please let me know if any of these steps resolved your issue, or if there is anything else I can do to help.  I look forward to hearing from you!  Thanks,

  • I am considering buying a new MAC laptop to run LOGIC for composition and band live/recording, but which one is best as I do not want to spend too much money? Does it have a line in and how do you monitor sound? Will I need adaptors and a interface?

    Can anybody help?
I am considering buying a new MAC laptop to run LOGIC for composition and band live/recording, but which one is best as I do not want to spend too much money?
Does it have a line in and how do you monitor sound?
Will I need adaptors and an interface?
Also, I am guessing as Logic only runs on MAC surely then they would not the best spec to recommend to run it?
I see all the upgrades as additional memory or a faster process?
Is a retina screen necessary, and why flash based storage against a 1TB hard drive, and a i5 instead of an i7
The main reason for this purchase is to play live and use backing tracks and record found sounds and make creative songs.
I hope you can provide some valuable feedback, as I am a longtime MAC user and see upgrades and changes happen regularly but the most important thing is the songs not the equipment.
I have £500 already and willing to add another 500 to 700 pounds, then software extra.

  • Apple Thunderbolt Monitor connect to Lenovo X240. Is it possible to connect thinkpad to Thunderbolt monitor. Only need display.

For my day job I am required to use a Lenovo Thinkpad X240 and would like to use my Thunderbolt display.  Is it possible to connect? I am not concerned about audio capabilities. If yes what adapters should I use?

I have a similar situation, however my Lenovo is an X1Carbon and it DOES have a thunderbolt port.  Can I use my Levono X1Carbon with my apple thunderbolt external monitor?  I have tried plugging it in, however it doesn't seem to be working?  Is there something specific that I need to do?
    Thanks!

  • Elitebook 810 - Displayport to VGA adaptor not connecting dual monitor

I bought a displayport to VGA adaptor (Insignia) for connecting Elitebook 810 to my old HP monitor. When I connect the monitor 'goes to sleep' and won't display. Received msg I can't recreate about not recognizing the hardware and to use HP hardware. Any fixes? Thanks!

    Displayport is a digital signal.
    VGA is an analog signal.
This will never work. Your solution is to either get the ultraslim dock that comes with VGA or get a monitor that has displayport OR HDMI.  Then you can buy the DP to HDMI (because both are digital signals). DP and HDMI carry the audio signal so you can hear audio from the monitor (if it has speakers).

  • Need help: W520 connecting 2 external monitors

    Hi,
I just bought two new monitors and trying to connect both of them with W520. Both monitors are 1920*1080 and have VGA, DVI, and DP. (No HDMI)
I know one solution that probably going to work is to connect one with displayport and the other with VGA.
However, I really hope I could use digital signals for both of them since VGA is still not completely as good as displayport or DVI.
As the displayport on W520 is the only digital output, I called the technical support to ask if I could use a dp->dvi converter and a dvi splitter to connect both monitors. The technical support confirmed this. But I still don't know if I should use a dp->dual-link dvi or just a regular dp->dvi.
I've also read the reviews of USB->DVI adapters. The common problem they have is that videos could not be smoothly played.
I don't want to buy the dock or an active converter since they cost too much. So, please suggest what is the most economic solution if I want to get 2 digital output from W520.
    Thanks!

[Reviving this slightly old topic because it still comes up on Google searches ...]
I wanted to report my successes with 3 screens - the laptop screen and two external monitors - with a W520 quad-core and a MiniDock Plus 3 - 4338 - 90 Watt.  Both external monitors are connected to the MiniDock with DisplayPort cables.
    a) Win7 Ultimate was easy to set up with the drivers 83de42ww (8.17.12.7593/8.15.10.2538, dated 2011-12-14).  BIOS in Optimus mode, but disabled OS detection.  I can use the Windows 7 "screen resolution" applet to configure the resolution and relative location of the monitors.  Only issue:  I have to do that each time I dock - otherwise it boots/revives from sleep using only the laptop's screen.  I never use the Intel or NVidia consoles to do anything.
    b) Windows Server 2008 R2 was MUCH harder to get going - largely because I was doing it six months later and using the latest drivers.  The drivers in 83de44ww (8.17.12.7658/8.14.10.2538, dated 2012-04-20) just do not work for this purpose - I could not get all three screens going no matter what I tried.  So I uninstalled the NVidia drivers and Intel drivers (in that order!) and installed 83de42ww (as in (a) above) and now it works fine.  Even better: it remembers when I dock to light up all three displays without me having to adjust anything.  To get it to work, though, I had to use the NVidia control panel to set screen resolutions.  After that, the Windows "screen resolution" applet now works fine.
    c) Back in November when I was trying to get 4 screens going I found a Lenovo PDF that described all kinds of display configurations for the W520.  Can't find it online now.  Anyway, it certainly implied that 4 screens (3 external) worked, but I couldn't get it to happen.  Now I'm glad you've pointed to this specification that contains the following remarkable facts:  First, that you can get 4 monitors working with the 170W MiniDock Plus, and you can also get it working with the 90W MiniDock Plus (which is what I have) ONLY IF you've got a DUAL-core, not a quad-core (I have a quad-core).  Very interesting!  Perhaps the quad core sucks up just enough extra energy that the NVidia chip isn't left with enough to power 3 video signals.  Unfortunate.
    d) I don't know why I have the 90W MiniDock Plus - Can anyone advise me?  I've got a 170W brick that says it delivers 8.5 amps at 20V, that's 170W alright.  But the bottom of the MiniDock says it accepts 4.5 amps at 20V, thats 90W.  So did they just ship me the wrong MiniDock with the right brick?

    Help,
I have a problem with connecting my Imac and Phillips LCD TV.
For two years everything was working as a violin and two weeks ago it stopped working : (
Computer and LCD are connected with an HDMI cable (over Mini Display port to DVI adapter with DVI-HDMI adapter on it)
The computer recognizes the TV in System Preferences-Display  but there is no picture on TV but
in the corner of  the TV a label "Unsupported video format."
When you connect the devices, the iMac's monitor goes blue but the TV does not have a picture.
On the web I found hundreds of people with similar and same problem but without a successful resolution.
What is the strangest thing when I connect a old macbook over the same cable only MiniDV port, everything works!
Stranger still is when I connect the Imac over the same cable and adapter to a LG LED monitor that has HDMI Input, again everything works!
HDMI cable is also correct because I've checked it out with the Blu-ray player on all three HDMI inputs on the TV.
    Imac's OS is 10.6.4.
    TV model PHILLIPS 42PFL5603D/12
Thanks in advance for any advice and hopefully solutions!

Yes.  You just need an appropriate adapter.   Apple products work across the full voltage range of 100 to 220v.

  • 2330 - "Phone needs to be connected and authorised...

I can't seem to get my 2330 to sync with PC Suite. I can get regular access to the phone via the bluetooth, and it's recognised by PC Suite. But when I go to do anything with the phone it says it needs to be connected and authorised.
I've read that the PC can be authorised by going to connections, paired devices, options and authorise device. But all that comes up on mine is assign short name and auto-conn. with-out confirmation.
Any easy answers? I've been searching for hours and I'm lost. Thanks!

Problem solved. Uninstalled software that came with Bluetooth USB adaptor and allowed Windows XP to make its own driver choice.

  • It says it needs to be connected to itunes and restored.  when i do that, it goes through the whole process then comes up with "iphone could not be restored. unknown error code (-1)".  Please help

My brother gave me his old iphone when the touch screen went out on mine.  It's in great shape but when I received it, it says that it needs to be connected to itunes to be restored.  I have done this and it goes through the whole process then says iphone "iphone" could not be restored.  unknown error code (-1).  There is not a -1 code on the list and I have tried most of the suggestions.
Does my sim card need to be in when I am doing this?  And any other suggestions?

I did put it in DFU mode but its still not working, although everytime it shows your iphone needs to be restored. Kindly help.

  • Do I need a cable connecting my Time Capsule to Airport Express if I want to use the AE to extend my wifi network range?

I'm a bit confused by conflicting advice given by my local Apple shop and my internet provider.
My cable modem is plugged into a Time Capsule which I use to access the net wirelessly almost all over the house.  The one spot the wireless doesn't quite reach is (of course) where I now need my office and iMac to be.
I thought I could just plug in an Airport Express somewhere in the middle  to extend the network's range but the guy at my local Apple shop said the Airport Express would need to be connected not just to power but to the Time Capsule, via a cable.  That's fiddly and would involve cables running under the floor or along walls and ceilings, not something I can or really want to do.  It's not really practical to try and move the cable connection point either.
My internet provider suggested a netgear wireless extender and said that would only need to be plugged into power.  The reviews of the netgear product I found comparing it to Airport Express suggest that the Express doesn't need to be connected to anything other than power either to extend a network range (which was what I originally thought).
So I'm wondering which advice is correct? I've also read that the netgear product isn't all that easy to set up so I'd rather stick with.   Apple if it will do what I want.
Thanks for any help out there

I'm sure that the guy at the Apple shop means well, but he is not correct.
While it would be preferable to connect the Time Capsule and AirPort Express using a wired Ethernet connection, the Express can connect wirelessly and extend the wireless signal the same way....IF...it is located where it can receive a good wireless signal.

Unfortunately yes, though technology would never move on if it kept to older standards and did not strive to do more.
The app store always gives you the option to use a previous version of the app IF it is available for your device.
Sorry but you are stuck without new hardware.

Are you saying that Yos/10.10, as a volume located in a mounted external drive won't appear as an option in Snow Leopard's Startup Disc, in Sys Prefs? I've never heard this one before. AFAIK any mounted volume, regardless of OS, should appear there. I would think that, if it appears in the Boot Picker/Startup Manager it would also appear and could be booted to from Snow's Startup Disk. I can't test this myself, since I don't have Yos. Is what you are saying documented somewhere?
