HP 255 G3 - unable to connect to WLAN
Hello Everyone I purchased yesterday an HP 255 G3 with no OS pre-installed. I 've installed win 7 home premium 64-bit. Initially there was no functionality for Network Adapter (according to window's Device Manager). I have downloaded and installed Realtek LAN driver and then, after a little research I 've installed Qualcomm Atheros QCA9000 Series wireless LAN drivers. My laptop is able to detect wireless networks but cannot connect. When looking for wireless network manager (control panel > network and sharing center > manage wireless networks) no networks are displayed. Don't know what else to do, please help
It seems that my pc needed a second restart for this driver to work! Now works just fine. I don't know if this is relevant but I had my win 7 version activated after I had initially installed this driver, so my pc prompt me to restart for some important windows updates. After second restart everything works. Thanks for the response

E72: Unable to connect to WLAN
Something weird is with my E72. I had been happily using the WLAN in my house for a few months now. Then yesterday it suddenly failed.
Unable to connect to the wlan. The default browser showed me "Unable to connect. WLAN not found" and "Unable to perform operation"
But during a WLAN scanning, I can clearly search my house WLAN showing me "2WIRE*** found".
E72 had really give me lots of problem. Hope this will be my last problem I encountered with my phone. Thank is advance for any suggestion for this problem.Try with Hard Reset (shift+space+backspace+on/off). Make a full backup before!

Same To me. I have Asus WL-500W router at home, WPA2-PSK(AES), password similar to this "lIGf@91pY0TnFY!Jh@7LjTUlsL3ZPY", MAC address filtering. My old Nokia E51 works, my Touch Pro Works with it. When i try my one day old Nokia E72 it does not work, the same like others:WLAN: Unable to connect. Wlan Network not Found. E72 works at my work wifi, which has the same settings but without mac filtering. Have no idea what is happening, all is setting correctly. MAC address of E72 is allowed on router. It has the same settings like E51, but E51 works like a charm E72 does not work. What is wrong?
As already suggested, you could try disabling the MAC filtering from the router, just to outrule possibility of a typo while entering E72's MAC address to router settings.
Have you tried swithing a WLAN channel that your router uses?
Log in to your router's web management pages (check router's default IP address and username/password from it's manual) and switch of the "Automatic" channel selection mode. Try few different channels, like 1, 3, 6, 9, 11, if one of the channels happens to work any better. Note that in case you have set your router to use channels 12 or 13 (or in case "Automatic" channel selection mode has decided to select channel 12 or 13) you must have a SIM card inserted and some other than "Offline" profile enabled on your phone since Offline mode (i.e. airplane / flight mode) won't allow your phone to operate on higher channels than 11.
In case you have configured your WLAN network (SSID) to be "hidden", try disabling hidden SSID mode on the router.
Asus WL-500W router seems to be a pre-standard 802.11n device so might be worth looking in to your router's WLAN settings and see if playing around with router's WLAN operating mode and settings improve the situation. First of all ensure that your router is not set to operate in 20/40MHz mode (set it to 20MHz only) assuming that the router is in default 802.11b/g/n mode. You could also try disabling the 802.11n mode completely by selecting a 802.11b/g mode (if available).
You should probably also check that you're running latest (2.0.0.6 ??) firmware version on your Asus WL-500W router since there seems to plenty of complaints regarding WLAN connectivity and stability issues (in general, not specific to Nokia handsets) with this particular router model. -
Unable to connect to WLAN with Nokia N95
Hi
Just bought a nokia N95 and I'm unable to connect to the WLAN at my work place. No problem connecting to my home WLAN, and there are no problems connecting my laptop to the workplace WLAN.
I browse for WLANs and select "Start web browsing", the wlan name comes up find and I select it, but after quite some time I get: "Internet: server not found".
I've read the other posts about assigning a static IP, but the sysadms here will kill me if I try that. Is there another way of getting this to work? It can't be true that the N95 is so picky with WLAN configurations?
JensCan you post your question on here with the WLAN AP model name, firmware version and N95 sw version (*#0000#)?

NOKIA N8 - Unable to connect - WLAN Network not fo...
also for NOKIA N8 THE SAME PROBLEM: Unable to connect - WLAN Network not found;I see my network in the wlan list (Tthe state is "knowed") but when i try to connect to it,i read: Unable to connect-wlan network not found;i tryed with: mac filter on/off,dhcp on/of,wep protection on/off,firewall router on/off,power saving in the phone on/off, but the problem is the same ever!..Niklas Savander,..where you are?..nokia is back?..but with the same problems!
Well, I seem to have issues with WLAN as well.
When I am approx. 10metres away from my Router, the N8 doesn't connect. However, I can connect to WLAN using my Nokia N900, Nokia E52 and my Netbook (Asus EEE1005HA). This is a N-router with standard settings. I have tried changing, the channels etc. but it doesn't resolve the problem.
So is this a problem with the Nokia N8? I mean, all my other wireless devices work fine. I even tried changing the Wireless Interface type from N/B/G, to B/G but as I said before, the problem is still there.
Hopefully this problem can be sorted with a software update, that is if the N8 finds it difficult to connect to Wireless Internet.
P.S.: Tthere is another thread reporting similar problems. Here is the link. -
Unable to connect Satellite C55-A to the WLAN
Hi I am unable to connect to my WLAN.
My router was zapped in the latest storms and talktalk sent me a replacement. Whilst setting it up I decided to change the ssid and the psk.
Every other device in our household (laptop, desktop and tablets) will connect to the new router but not my Satellite C55A. It can see the new ssid but when I enter the psk it gives the message "cannot connect to this network". I have win 8.1 wlan adapter is atheros ar956x, driver is 10.0.0.263.
Any suggestions? It is really strange. Usually there should not be some problem. When the WLAN is detected all you must do is to put right password.
Have you checked all WLAN settings on your machine?
Is there some possibility to test it with other WLAN by your friend, just to see if the problem is the same? -

Unable to connect to MySQL Database using MX
I am unable to connect to MySQL database hosted on a remote
server. I get the following error message:
"HTTP Error Code 404 File Not Found. Here are some possible
reason for the problem:
1) There is no testing server running on the server machine.
2) The testing server specified for this site does not map to
the
http://72.9.255.2/~keyitems/_mmServerScripts/MMHTTPDB.php
URL. Verify that the URL Prefix maps to the root of the site."
I have specified a testing server. My url is "
http://72.9.255.2/~keyitems/........."
For the URL prefix to the site's root folder, I listed the
following:
1.
http://72.9.255.2/~keyitems/
this did not work. I got the above error message.
2.
http://72.9.255.2/ this did not work
also. I got the above error message.
Any input would be great as I do not know where to start !!!
Thank youHi Ravi
Glad to hear you solved this. It is very gratifying when one solves it alone, don't you think?
Best wishes

Hi,
I have a Dell Latitude E6440 running Win 7
Enterprise 64 on a domain. It will connect to any unsecured network, and it can see the secured network in the list when I click the wireless connection icon on the system tray. When I go to manage wireless networks, the secured network does not show
up (and thus, I cannot delete the network to try to re-add it). Normally, we would add the secure network here. I click Add, give the name in the correct syntax, add the needed information (WPA/2-Enterprise, EAS or TKIP), and hit Next, it immediately returns
with "An unexpected error occurred". A similar thing happens when I hit Connect from the list of available networks that pops up when I open the system tray icon: it says it was unable to connect, when I hit troubleshoot, it says that it could not
identify the problem. The event log shows the error below. I haven't been able to find any resolutions here or elsewhere that address the fact that I can connect to unsecured wireless networks, but not secured wireless networks.
Other notable troubleshooting steps:
Uninstalled/Reinstalled wireless adapter with the latest driver
Other laptops are able to access the same secure wireless network
The first WLAN-AutoConfig error in the event log was Event ID: 12013, attempting a 802.1x authentication. Then Event ID: 11006; stating "Explicit Eap failure received". After a few days of alternating all 3 errors, they started to only error on
Event ID 8002.

Unable to connect to unsecured wifi
My iPhone was unable to connect to my workplace unsecured wifi. The IP address, as well as the other details are as follows:
IP Adress : 10.182.203.17
Subnet Mask : 255.255.255.192
Default Gateway : 10.182.203.1
Preferred DNS Server : 161.142.201.17
Alternate DNS Server : 161.142.2.17
I faced no problem in connecting to the network using my laptop or other mobile devices. Please advise for the correct setting as this is the only mean of communication on my workplace. Thank you.Is your employer doing MAC address filtering? A completely unsecured wireless network in a place of business just seems stupid. MAC address filtering would only allow specific network adapters to connect (for example, those in company owned/approved devices) and would not be apparent to anyone attempting to connect casually.
If so, you'll have to ask them to add the MAC address for your phone to the permitted devices list. -
N8 & Iplayer problem - connect to WLAN but I alrea...
All of a sudden I am unable to watch/download from BBC iPlayer. It tells me I have to connect to WLAN, which is fine, I always did this. But even when I am connected to WLAN I still get the same message so cannot use the iPlayer at all.
Think it may be a problem since the last upgrade.
I looked it up on the iPlayer website where it says to check the APN settings but like a large number of people I get 'sim card error' when I try to access the APN settings.
If someone can help before I completely give up on this awful phone I would be very grateful.Check the settings under Menu/Settings/Application Settings/Videos Make sure that "Access point in use" is set to the WLAN you are connected to.

Windows 7 Wifi Unable to Connect (one device)
I have 4 devices (asus laptop - personal, dell laptop - work, android phone - personal, windows 8 phone - work) that all used to connect to wifi networks without an issue. Both laptops run windows 7. I'm now in temporary housing for a few months with its
own wifi setup. I do not have control of this router. Everything but the dell laptop was able to connect to this network. However, the dell will give me the generic "unable to connect error" when I try to connect and obviously the troubleshooter
doesn't provide any more information than that. Also, my ethernet cables are packed away in storage and I really don't want to buy another one for this temporary period. I've seen a lot of similar issues posted, but none of the solutions posed have worked
for my situation yet.
So the dell has NEVER been able to connect at this location - this is not an issue where it gets booted off the network/has poor connectivity.
I've tried the following which did not work:
1) Manually entering IPv4/Gateway/DNS etc.
2) Sharing the network (protected and unprotected) from my personal laptop
3) Standard restarts, disconnect/reconnects, etc. for all devices and the router
4) Entering all the encryption types (even though I know it is WPA2-Personal, AES)
5) Yes, wifi is enabled on that computer
6) Given that this is a work device, I cannot easily uninstall/reinstall drivers due to security blahblahblah
I would appreciate any advice with this situation.
Thanks!Hi,
First, please check the following event log log before you try any suggestions.
Microsoft-Windows-WLAN-AutoConfig
It’s under applications and services log.
Based on the current situation, you may perform the following suggestions to check the issue:
1. Update the router firmware and reset the router.
The default settings of Windows 7 should work normally with the wireless router.
2. Set up a new network with WPA2 Encryption.
3. Verify with the WLAN service is started and set to automatic, if the WLAN service is stopped, I would suggest you to start the service and put it to automatic.
4. Follow the steps to start the WLAN service and disable the IP Helper service. (Click on Start, type in services.msc. Select WLAN Autoconfig from the list, Right click properties)
5. Connect to another wireless router for a test.
In addition, Please Use Network troubleshooter event logs to solve network problems
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/use-network-troubleshooter-event-logs-to-solve-network-problems
Hope it helps.
