HP 3055 Prints a line down the page

I am having some trouble with an HP Laserjet 3055, when I print a page while the printer is 'cold' , a small strip 1/8" thick of garbage prints down the entire length of the page..  If I print more than one page the error gets smaller and smaller and around the 4th page the printer prints perfectly...
If I wait over a minute before printing another page the 'line' resurfaces.
I've tried different toner cartridges and have done the printers cleaning command, nothing has helped...   Does anyone have any idea ?

I have similar problem with HP LaserJet 2430.
While printing, characters from each line are repeated at 3 inch intervals along the length of the paper at about 2 inches and 7 inches from the left margin that appear as two grey bands on the printout. The widths of the bands are approximately 2 characters and 8 characters. For example when a single line is printed the characters at 2 in and 7 in locations from the left margin repeat at 3, 6 and 9 inches down from the printed line and the intensity of the printing decreases.
For example if I print a printer test page, the HP logo at the top right corner will repeat with reducing intensity at 3, 6, and 9 inches from the first logo print.
Similarly if I print a word document with just one line of numbers 1234567890 repeated for the width, the numbers 23 at 2 inch and 67890123 at 7 inch from left margin will repeat every 3 inch along the length of paper (portrait mode) with decreasing intensity.
While printing documents with multiple lines this causes two grey vertical bands along the length of the paper.

  • Question marks on my pictures and diagonal lines down the page

    My site is web.mac.com/jkmerchant. Last night I changed a couple page names, re-ordered them, added some photos, added a blog entry and updated the text, added a new picture on the welcome page and replaced a picture on the welcome page. Ever since then, my changes publish (with an error) and I can see the updates via my browser, but almost all of my pages now have question marks on the pictures and diagonal frame type lines down the page. I appreciate any suggestions to fix this problem. I've verified the question marks are appearing in IE using a windows computer and Safari (as well as in iWeb) on a Mac.

  • Print problem. trying to print a document in Preview, the start of the text prints half way down the page not at the top of the page?

    Print problems.  Printing out an email the text starts half way down the page.  I tried taking a picture of the text I wanted to print, tried to print from Preview and have the same problem.  If anyone has any ideas I would really apreciate it. Thanks Penny

    One more thing to check:  System Preferences/Print & Scan.  Make sure your printer is set as Default.
    I'm using OS X 10.8 and I don't see Page Setup anymore. If you have access to Page Setup, check to see if there are any adjustments to make there.

  • IPhoto book has vertical lines down the pages

    I am ready to send my 54 page photo book to Apple.  However, in going through it one more time, there are vertical lines --1 -2 per page on about half of the pages.  They have not been there before.  They are white or colored.  Some go through all the page vertically and some are only 1/2 the distance.  Most of the pages effected are the left or the even number ones, but that is not always the case.  I shut down IPhoto to see if that would work.  Last night support here told me to rebuild the library which I did--that was to take care of the constantly spinning color wheel.  What can I do about this new problem.  I am so excited about the book and want to send it to print, but fear that these lines will show up.

    Thanks Larry,
    YOu have been spot on this week with my 2 questions.  The preview seems to be fine, so guess I can proceed. The lines are gone in the preview.
    There is also another glitch, however.  In my map page, I have identified the cities.  Most of them are there, but some--only the red dots are there and when I click on the red dot, the name shows, then when I click outside the book, the dot stays, and the name goes away.  There seems to be plenty of room for the name.  I thought it might be OK in the preview, since the lines went away, but there are still a couple that don't show.

  • 8630 adf printing a line down scan or copied pages.

    When using the copy or scan feature with the Automatic Document Feeder, the printer prints a line down the page about 1 and 1/2" in from the margin. It prints this line in from the left margin on odd number pages, and right margin on even pages.
    I have had this printer about 2 weeks now, and it was working fine until today.

    Hello brownp69,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
    I see that you are having an issue with a line down the side of the prints when doing copies with the adf.
    I have seen this issue before and I was able to resolve the issue quiet easily by doing two simple steps.
    First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
    Just so you are aware, HP Products already have a built in surge protector and when you have the unit connected to a power bar/strip, the printer can not get all the power it needs to function properly and this can cause issues with the adf.
    If you open the top lid to expose the large glass surface, you will see a thin strip of glass to the left.  Please use a lint free cloth and a light glass cleaner and clean this area.  On the bottom side of the lid directly above the thin strip of glass, you will see a thin white strip of plastic.  Please clean this white strip as well.
    Try another copy and write me back with the results.
    Thanks for your time.

  • How to print header lines at the top of every page with Alv list display?

    Dear all,
    I need a requirement with printing issue. A program list should be printed with the function reuse_alv_list_display.
    The list has several pages and then can be printed but the header lines appear only first page when they printed. The other pages don't have header lines, they continue with the next record of the list remaining from previous page. I use the alv parameters as below:
      CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY'
        EXPORTING
          i_callback_program       = l_repid
          i_callback_pf_status_set = 'ALV_PF_STATUS'
          is_layout                = ls_layo
          it_fieldcat              = lt_fcat
          i_default                = 'X'
          i_save                   = 'A'
          is_variant               = ls_variant
          it_events                = lt_events
        TABLES
          t_outtab                 = lt_data
        EXCEPTIONS
          program_error            = 1
          OTHERS                   = 2.
    and lt_events as below:
      ls_event-name = 'END_OF_LIST'.
      ls_event-form = 'ALV_END_OF_LIST'.
      APPEND ls_event TO lt_events.
      ls_event-name = 'END_OF_PAGE'.
      ls_event-form = 'ALV_END_OF_PAGE'.
      APPEND ls_event TO lt_events.
      ls_event-name = 'TOP_OF_LIST'.
      ls_event-form = 'ALV_TOP_OF_LIST'.
      APPEND ls_event TO lt_events.
      ls_event-name = 'TOP_OF_PAGE'.
      ls_event-form = 'ALV_TOP_OF_PAGE'.
      APPEND ls_event TO lt_events.
    So, how can I print header lines for every page?
    Best Regards,

    Hello Saba,
    Your point might be very close to solution.
    Because in the selection screen of the program there are two radio buttons, one of them visits 'REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE' function and the other doesn't. The one which visits has a problem with header liens in every page when printing. But I couldn't find out the solution yet.
    reuse_alv_list_display uses 4 event and of course I call subroutine. There are end_of_list, end_of_page, top_of_list and top_of_page. I use in the subroutine for top_of_page:
      CALL FUNCTION 'LVC_TRANSFER_TO_SLIS'
        EXPORTING
          it_fieldcat_lvc         = gt_fcat
        IMPORTING
          et_fieldcat_alv         = lt_fcat
        EXCEPTIONS
          it_data_missing         = 1
          it_fieldcat_lvc_missing = 2
          OTHERS                  = 3.
      CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_LIST_WIDTH_GET'
        EXPORTING
          it_fieldcat = lt_fcat
        IMPORTING
          e_width     = l_width.
    WRITE l_reptx TO l_reptx CENTERED.
      NEW-LINE.
      WRITE: AT (l_width) l_reptx CENTERED.
      SUBTRACT 10 FROM l_width.
      WRITE: AT l_width sy-pagno RIGHT-JUSTIFIED.
        CALL FUNCTION 'REUSE_ALV_COMMENTARY_WRITE'
          EXPORTING
            it_list_commentary       = lt_header
      I_LOGO                   =
      I_END_OF_LIST_GRID       =
    Do you have other suggestions ?

  • Print a line on the last or second from last page

    I'm using Oracle Report 10.1.2.3.0.
    I'd like to print a line on the last page of a report if the report has an odd number of pages or the second from last page of a report if the report has a even number of page. It is the later second from last requirement I'm struggling with. Can anyone help me solve this problem please?
    The reason for this is that we are purchasing an envelope inserter that using Optical Mark Recognition (a series of lines on the side of the page). This only reads on the front side of a piece of paper, so when performing a duplex print the marks need to be on the odd page numbers. In this case I need to apply a mark on the front side of the last piece of paper.
    Thanks

    Hi InoL
    Thank you for your response. I have seen similar solutions to this and have investigated them. Although they give you a work around to know the total number of pages in PLSQL, they only give you a way of knowing this once the report has completed formatting the last page. Unfortunately, my requirment is to know when I'm on the second from last page to perform some conditional formatting. I don't think knowing the total number of pages at this stage is going to be possible in reports, therefore I was hoping someone may know a "clever trick" to achieve this.
    Thanks
    Neil

  • How do I get iCal to print the calender just as it appears on the screen, not as lines down the side to indicate length of event?  I like the whole bubble of time approach as it is on the screen.

    How do I get iCal to print my calendar just as it appears on the screen?  I like the whole block-out method rather than just a line down the side indicating the time devoted to an event.  Is there any way to change the style of how it' sprinted?

    Press F10 or tap the Alt key to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.

  • Many of my photos appear briefly as I scroll down the page then disappear leaving a box outlined with a broken-line.  The menu bar says that I have 300 pictures hidden, but I am unable to get them unhidden.

    I am experiencing difficulty with iPhoto '11.  Some of more recent photos can not be accessed.  As I scroll down the page of photos, the most recent ones appear briefly, then disappear to be replaced with a box outlined by a broken-line.  The menu bar says that I have 317 photos hidden.  Hiding photos is not something that I normally do, can't imagine why these are hidden.  Anyway, when I try to unhide the photos, I can view them as an event, but if I click on a single photo, or try to move it into an album, the photo does not display.  Instead I get a dark exclamation point within a triangle.  Another problem with these same photos is on the event page there is no key photo for these events only a dark screen.  I can't find an answer to my problem.  Has anyone experienced this?  What is the problem and how can I correct it?

    The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

    In pages, when I get to the end of a line, the text refuses to start again in the left, it continues on the right and goes down the page, anyone know a solution?

    Does this occur in all of your Pages documents? Are you certain that you haven't formatted the type to run flush right? (Align right I mean - sorry old typographer lingo). Look at the ruler at the top and check the Align setting.
    Have you tried quitting Pages completely and the restart the iPad?
    Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Restart the iPad.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

  • Printing starts too far down the page - officejet pro 8600

    Have an officejet pro 8600.
    Recently, when printing, two probelms occur...
    (1) the document being printed starts printing approx 1.5" to 2" futher down the page then it should. This results in the bottom portion of the document Not being printed.
    (2) there is a crease/fold approx 3" from the top of the paper.
    It appears that either the paper is being fed too soon or the actual printing is being delayed.
    We have cleaned all the rollers and check the star wheel - no damages

  • 2600n Print Quality - repeating pattern down the page

    Whatever gets printed at the top of the page text or graphic gets repeated every 2 inches further down the page. I've tried self clean and calibration procedures from service menu and this does not fix. IT worked great fro a year or so...Clean rollers or film on rollers? New fuser? Software drivers? or somtehing else?

    I think I found and fixed the problem. I'll know for sure tomorrow morning after the printer has set too cool all night.
    I changed some device settings in the Print Quality of the HP Toolbox. I turned ON the following and the issue went away immediately.
    In the Optimize section of Print Qualtiy - try turning ON
    Extra Cleaning
    Trailing Edge Overdevelopment (Full Speed)
    Trailing Edge Overdevelopment (Half Speed)
    Mottle Prevention
    Less Duplex Current
    This (seemingly) worked for me, let me know if this helps anyone else.

    \n - new line character is in java specific not HTML
    specific.Well, if the correct line separator sequence (by far not always \n) would be used, it does add a new line to the HTML output. Too bad that you don't want to see HTML but formatted text. The BR tag is a formatting element for the displayed text, not a line break in HTML. ;)
