HP 3D DriveGuard not working with Intel RST enabled (Envy 4-1050)

Hello, i'm having this issue and it's driving me crazy. I got my Envy 4-1050la three days ago and the first day i've changed the operating system to Windos 8 64 bits since I've bought a key last year.
Now all is installed and working properly (after having tons of issues enabling Intel Rapid Storage Technology and restoring all device drivers), exept for the DriveGuard 3D.
With Intel Rapid Storage acceleration disabled, DriveGuard will detect the hard drive as "supported" and the SSD as not, wich is the normal behaviour. But with acceleration enabled in either "enhanced" or "maximized" modes it shows one single drive (as expected since Intel RST makes a RAID array) but it says it's UNSUPPORTED and protection won't work at all.
I've tried several 3D DriveGuard versions without succes.
I will appreciate your help, thanks inadvance!

Hello again, haha, i'm sorry but I dind't get my cake with this recipe. I followed this steps located in the link you gave me:
1. Disable acceleration
2. Select "Make available" to dissociate drive.
3. Enable acceleration but instead of choosing "Full Volume", you can choose to only use 18.6 GB. That's the only other option available for a 32 GB drive, you can't go down any more.
4. Format what's left in disk management.
The result is RST working with 18.6 GB and the rest formatted into an usable drive. But still DriveGuard won't work giving me the same "Unsupported" message.
I send you two screenshots of the procedure. First of all, one showing DriveGuard fully functional with Intel RST disabled and all space on the SSD unlocated. The second one shows the result after the given procedure showing DriveGuard listing all the drives as Unsupported and RST working over 18.6 GB fixed capacity in "enhanced" mode, with the rest of the SSD formated in a NTFS partition without unlocated space left.

  • Window 10 build 10041 does not work with Intel 82579V Gigabit Ethernet on ASUS motherboard

I originally posted this question here:
    answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_wintp-insider_update/window-10-build-10041-does-not-work-with-intel/6729892f-83aa-4822-b20a-ea84f4fd06c7
and was asked to post it on this forum...
I updated a computer I have which is a quad core i7 that I built and includes an ASUS motherboard with Intel 82579V Gigabit Ethernet built in. Windows 10 preview 9926 worked fine with this network adapter. Window 10 build 10041 does not, and I have tried
it twice so far. I even went as far as buying a Thunderbolt-Gigabit Ethernet Adapter (Broadcom, sold by Apple)... and while it installed the driver automatically, it did not work either. Each time you try to view the properties of either of them, it locks
up or give an error. In fact, doing much of anything with the Intel adapter icon assures you of not being able to do a clean reboot... have to kill power.  I have finally gone back the previous version 9926, which has its issues but no where near as bad
as not having any network connectivity!  Does anyone have this issue and a workaround?
Note, there are two images on the windows 10 preview forum that I posted this question on. I could not post the full link as I was getting a message here that links and graphics are not allowed.

Thanks Roger, I posted the following yesterday in the other thread (thinking it was this thread - confusing after they moved it here)... It may be that the new driver fixes the issue that 10041 has with it, but I have not tried that yet. If I do I will update
    this... Thanks!
I have more information about this, which basically exonerates any issue with the Intel 82579V Gigabit Ethernet hardware or software. I have 3 computers with Windows 10 preview so I have multiple angles to see issues from. With this I have found a culprit
(but I suspect not just the only culprit) in this above mentioned problem...
10041 build combined with installing (or attempting to install) CISCO VPN Windows 7 64bit 5.0.07.0440-k9 client causes the issue mentioned above. I confirmed this on a completely different machine with a totally different Ethernet adapter. First machine
is an ASUS motherboard in a tower system I built, with the Intel 82579V Gigabit Ethernet hardware built in. Second machine is a Gateway Laptop from 2008 which has a Marvell Yukon 88E8057 PCI-E Gigabit adapter built in. Build 10041 will work fine with my 2008
laptop, including the MS VPN client (which I have tested). However, if you attempt to install or even uninstall the Cisco client you will have to do a recovery to a restore point (as I have done twice) in order to get your network working again. Installing
or attempting to install (because it never even does install properly and times out), CISCO VPN client will render your entire network unusable. Going back to a restore point saved me and I am still running 10041 but I can't use CISCO VPN client any longer.
I could with build 9926, including on all 3 machines. I now have 9926 on two machines and 10041 on only the 2008 laptop.
Hopefully this above information helps someone resolve the issue. I will also mention, even though my network is working on the 2008 laptop, I still can't go into the Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections and right mouse click on the Marvell
Yukon 88E8057 PCI-E Gigabit adapter icon. I get an error when clicking on Properties menu popup : "An unexpected error has occurred". So something is still up with my network adapter driver or windows software, but it could be a side effect of all
that has happened with the Cisco software install attempts under 10041.
Another note: CISCO Anyconnect also has the issue.

  • WRT300N Router does not working with Intel 4965AGN adapter on Wireless-N

Hi! I have recently bought the laptop Acer 5920G with Intel 4965AGN network adapter and Windows Vista. I have read that WRT300N Router is supporting Draft-N standard, so I purchased it. The router is working fine on Wireless-G 54Mbps (firmware - 2.00.17), but not on Wireless-N. I tried to enter the following settings: ssid - any non-linksys name;  radio band - wide; n-channel - 9; standard channel - 11; beacon interval - 50; Fragmentation threshold - 2306; RTS threshold - 2307, but nothing has happened, connection still remains 54Mbps. How should I configure the router and network adapter to get Wireless-N?

okay... try reflashing/upgrading the firmware on the router, after reflashing the firmware on the router, reset it back to default settings and reconfigure it according to ISP settings...edit the wireless settings again, make sure that "wireless mode" should be mixed...
on the vista computer, click on start >> control panel >> network & sharing center >> manage wireless network and try removing existing wireless networks from profile and manually add wireless n/w profile according to wireless settings of the router...check whether it makes any difference or not and let me know.

There's a problem with old Intel cards and the current Intel drivers. Unfortunately using older drivers means downgrading xorg-server and friends. Read about downgrading in the wiki.
I'm currently using xf86-video-intel 2.13.0-4 and xorg-server 1.9.4-1 and things are OK. My card

  • TS140 not working with Intel I350T4

A brand new Intel I350T4 network card arrived this morning, and disapointingly the system fails to POST with the card installed in either 16X PICe slot, giving me the 3+1 beep code indicating a memory issue. Upon further research this looks like a problem others are seeing with this same card, but a resolution either hasn't been made clear or hasn't been investigated from Lenovo's side. My system specs are as follows: TS140 70A4000HUX32GB Crucial ECCIntel S3500 SSD x2, RAID 1BIOS: A8AOS: RHEL 7.1 Here are some others with the same issue: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkServer-Towers/TS140-Add-On-NIC-Issues/td-p/1831766 http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1845269 Would someone from Lenovo please chime in for advice?

My pleasure.  I'm happy to hear that you recommend Lenovo and hope your experience with us is positive enough that you continue to do so in the future.
That's a good point about the i350-T4 and it's not uncommon for new firmware to be added to off-the-shelf hard drives, NICs, and other parts as they go through our qualification process.  For the i350-T4, the latest Lenovo firmware is v1.853.0 (which you can find in the TS140's support page).  If that doesn't match the firmware version on your card, that may be something to investigate.  Although a firmware mismatch is more likely to leave the card unrecognised rather than taking down the entire system, stranger things have happened.
The reason I brought up the memory is that it seems to be what the server is complaining about even though the NIC was the part that was added, and the forum threads you linked mentioned recovering the server not just by removing the i350-T4 but by removing some of the DIMMs with the NIC still present.  While Crucial recommends some of their DIMMs as compatible with the TS140, their memory hasn't been validated by Lenovo so it's possible there is some kind of unrecognised difference that is causing this failure which otherwise doesn't appear in lighter configurations.  In a fully populated configuration with all 4 DIMMs present, a small difference between two different models of DIMM - such as electrical load or noise - could amount to a large difference on the bus that's pushed over a tipping point by the presence of a PCI-E device.  While that doesn't make the memory guilty by default, I'm hesitant to trust it more than the i350-T4 itself.  Starting a dialogue with Crucial might help to rule out the DIMMs, especially if this is a known issue that they've already investigated.
Just to confirm, do you have any other PCI or PCI-E hardware, such as a graphics card, and if so have you tried removing one of them in place of the NIC?  While this is more of a stretch given the failure symptom, there is a known limitation on other ThinkServers to the number of devices which BIOS can handle at one time.

  • Send As not working with cached mode enabled

    Hi
I am having some issues using Send As. We are running Exchange 2010 Version 14.2 (Build 247.5) and Outlook 2013.
    I have done the following:
    1. created a mailbox user
    2. created a security group and added my own account
    3. added the security group with Send As permission through ADUC on the mailbox user
    4. Waited a day and tried to send as the mailbox user, but it fails
If I disable cached mode or use OWA it works perfectly. The mailbox is NOT hidden in the address list.
I have seen this behavior before, but can't remember the "fix"?

    Hi,
From your description, the send as permission works well via OWA or Exchange online mode, the send as permission is configured successfully. The issue is related to Outlook side, in your case, I recommend you create a new profile and check the result.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

  • NW Portal not working with TLS1.0 enabled in IE and works with 1.1 and 1.2

    Hi Experts,
We currently have Portal running on SAP NETWEAVER 7.0. When we have TLS 1.0 enabled IE doesn't load the secure webpage. If we have TLS1.0 disabled and TLS 1.1 and 1.2 enabled the page comes up.
The business wants to be able to open the webpage with TLS 1.0 enabled as other websites need that.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Asad

    Hi Samuli,
We are looking to upgrade but the business has a doubt about the following:
    (1) What is the implication of applying the service packs? Is there a way to determine whether the functionality changed in the service packs are in use in the portal environment servicing PSE or the PCI Payment portals?
    (2) The service pack option is not without risk considering the NetWeaver portal server for PSE shares the same dev/qa path as the PCI Payment portal application.
    (3) Wouldn’t we want to apply the updates to all of the NetWeaver servers, including the production PCI Payment portals?
    Thanks for your help!
    Regards,
    Asad

  • HP 3D DriveGuard not working

HP 3D DriveGuard not working. When installation of error. What to do?
    Thanks in advance!

I have recently upgraded my iMac Intel G5 iSight (iMac5,1) to OS 10.6.8 and now the internal mic does not work with skype or facebook. I can here static when playing back clips. Do I need to update firmware or reload old system parts. I have zapped PRAM. The blue indicator in system audio panel will appear for a second as I slide the bar for internal mic but then it disappears. Is there a fix?

The sound seems very faint but can here static on playback.

  • The volume keys on my Logitech K760 wireless keyboard do not work with my 2.3 GHz, Intel Core i5 Mac mini which runs Mac OS X 10.7.4. Anyone know how to correct this without having to re-code firmware?

My first post to the Apple Support Community so it looks like all I wanted to know is covered in the title. The research I have done led me to solutions that I am not comfortable trying for fear of irreparably damaging my keyboard and/or Mac mini. Does anyone have a simpler solution? Please? Hellooooo?
Just in case the title is too long to show, I have re-pasted here:

    Hi  sparhk, and welcome.
One of the Lenovo staff who frequents the forum put out a call to help you in a private forum.  I do a little Linux, so I poked into it.  To my amazement my first Google hit was your thread where you indicate you have solved the problem.  (At least, it _looks_ like you...)
May I respectfully suggest that a post back here indicating success would be a nice touch?  That way anyone who passes by looking for help with this issue will have a better chance of finding it.  For posterity, here it is (see post number 25):

  • Graphite base station not working with my Intel Based Mac Mini and iPhone.

My Airport Express died after 2 years of use. I had to resort to plugging in my old but still functioning Graphite Airport base station. Since the set up assisant on my Mac mini does not work with the older base station, I used my G4 400 tower to set it up. I got it working and tested the connection. On to testing my iPhone. It sees the new network. Password is entered and the wifi icon shows full signal strength, but does not connect to the web. Next I try my Mac mini out on the new network and it too sees the network, but does not connect to the web. I double check the older G4 and the connection is still strong and fast. I shut the G4 down thinking that maybe the Graphite can only support one computer at a time, and the Mac mini and iPhone still can't connect to the web. I'm not sure what to do with this one. Is there a setting that I need to use? As far as security goes, the Graphite base station was set up with a WEP password. Any help would be great
    Message was edited by: Soriano

I suggest using AirPort Admin Utility (version 4.2) to check the base station settings and change them, if necessary. (AirPort Admin Utility should be able to configure a Graphite base station from a computer running Mac OS X 10.4, even though AirPort Setup Assistant can't.)
In the Network pane of AirPort Admin Utility, please make sure that "Distribute IP addresses" and "Share a single IP address (using DHCP and NAT)" are checked, and that everything else is unchecked. I am assuming that the Graphite is the only router in your local network and that there are no computers connected via Ethernet.
The Access Control pane of AirPort Admin Utility should list either all of the relevant AirPort ID's or nothing. You can find the AirPort ID of an OS X computer by looking at System Preferences>Network>Show:AirPort>AirPort.
The Internet pane of AirPort Admin Utility should be set in accordance with your Internet provider's requirements. Most likely, it should be set to Connect Using:Ethernet and Configure:Using DHCP.
After verifying the settings, power down the computers, base station and cable or DSL modem for a few minutes, then start them up sequentially, leaving time for each to get fully up and running: first the modem, then the base station, and finally the computers.
The network preferences on the Mac Mini and the iPhone are also relevant. I assume that the preferences are unchanged from those that worked with the AirPort Express.
    I hope this helps.

  • MBP CD2 DVI to VGA not working with projector

I am having issues getting the MBP to recognize a DELL 2300 projector through a DVI to VGA apple cable.
A few months ago there were posts about this, but no solutions. The problem seems to be with the 'INTEL' side of things, as the same projector with the same DVI to VGA apple cable works on an older G4 tower running 10.4.9. The projector also works on an old G4 iBook with it's version of a VGA adapter. To make things more confusing, a DVI to Video apple cable works with the DELL 2300 on my new MBP C2D-but produces a terrible quality picture. Mysteriously, my previous 1st generation MBP CD worked with the DELL 2300 via a DVI to VGA apple cable (but I'm not sure which OS was out at the time 10.4.8?)
My new MBP CD2 definately recognizes the projector through the DVI to VGA adapter, but the projector doesn't recognize the video signal from the computer. It is DEFINATELY the MBP (or universal drivers), as I have checked the DVI to VGA dongle (works), have checked the projector (works with an ibook running 10.4.8 OSX with VGA dongle), have changed resolution settings before and after connecting, have restarted computer, have tested various orders of connecting the projector and cables. STINK! (I also have TWO DVI to VGA adapters, so it is not a bad adapter). I have also played with exchanging various plist files from older universal versions of 10.4.8 that worked with the projector-no help.
As I stated, the projector will work (in horrible quality) with a DVI to Video dongle. Why it will not work with the DVI to VGA dongle is a mystery and annoying I would hope that a newer MBP CD2 would be plug and play (like my previous MBP CD and an old G4 tower and an old iBook G4...but no).
Any ideas, any help, any answers?

Here are the actors in our play today
    1. MacBookPro A. (my system a CD2 2.16 with OSX 10.4.9)
    2. MacBookPro B. (my friends system a CD2 2.16 with OSX 10.4.9)
    3. an iBook (my friends 1.07 GHz G4 with 10.4.8 and a VGA adapter)
    4. DELL 2300 MP projector
Plugged in DVI to VGA adapter to the virgin MacBookPro B (never had the projector plugged into it before) Dell projector shows that it recognizes an analog RGB 800X600 signal from MBP B. It projects a beautiful desktop. All is well for a moment.
In Display preferences we see for the MBP B
Color LCD, Display: 800X600 stretched, Colors: Millions, Refresh Rate: N/A
    VGA Display
Now, I unplug the DVI to VGA adapter and naturally MBP B readjusts to it's native resolution. Great.
Now I immediately plug back in the DVI to VGA adapter. The computer and the projector searches for signal with none found, while the computer shows no attempt at an automatic readjustment as above (800X600 stretched).
I try the 'detect display' option. It causes computer to stall for a second (as it searches) but it does not detect projector and does not readjust it's own resolution to 800X600 stretched as it did initially. F7 key does nothing.
    This is a problem!
So, I shut down the projector. I unplug the projector's power source and waited 20 seconds. plugged it back in, started projector back up.
    I shut down/restarted the MBP B.
I plug back in the DVI to VGA adapter into the MBP B. The MBP B screen flashes to all blue, but does not automatically change to 800X600 stretched (remains at native resolution and does not recognize an external monitor/projector)
    Enter the iBook!
I plug the iBook's VGA adapter into the projector. The projector shows that it recognizes an analog RGB 1024X768 60Hz signal and projects desktop screen immediately. Plug and play!
    iBook display prefs reveal:
Color LCD, 1024X768, colors: Millions, Refresh rate: N/A
    Color tab: Generic RGB Profile
    VGA display, 1024X768, colors: Millions,
Now. I unplug adapter from iBook, iBook readjusts to native display
plugged back in adapter to iBook, immediately recognizes and displays projected desktop.
    Scene 2: The FREAKY thing!
Now, I immediately (after unplugging the adapter from the iBook) change adapters to the DVI to VGA adapter and plug the projector into the MacBookPro B, whallla! Back in business. (computer screen adjusted to 800X600, and projector recognized signal).
Now, what about my computer? I unplug from MBP B and plug into MacBookPro A, and NOTHING...the computer doesn't automatically adjust to a new resolution, and the projector doesn't recognize any signal from the computer.
Ahhhh Freak out! Now, I plugged adapter back into MacBookPro B, and now back to NOTHING. MBP B no longer recognizes projector or readjusts it's resolution. Was something somehow corrupted?
Now, I plugged iBook VGA adapter back in, and iBook once again with it's awesome G4 technology (or dated video drivers or something) recognizes the projector in an instant and projects the screen.
Now, logically I try again to immediately unplug the adapter from the iBook and switch adapters and plug back into MacBookPro B-it worked once right? But, sorry, NOT twice. The mystery deepens.
Well, I think, maybe it is because I didn't restart MacBookPro B before attempting the switcharoo from iBook to MacBookPro.
So, I plug back into iBook-projector. And the iBook works immediately again.
I restart MacBookPro B and plug in to the freshly restarted MBP B...HOUSTON WE HAVE LIFT OFF! The MacBookPro B recognizes the projector and the projector kindly displays the desktop.
Now what about MacBookPro A...Last time, when I did the switcharoo, it corrupted something to cause the MBP B not to work. Let's try it again. Will this plug-unplug-restart-switch adapters-immediatly plug in technique work...let's see. I restart MBP A, and plug DVI to VGA adapter in. Sorry. Same ol' no signals recognized. MacBookPro A not auto readjusting resolution, and does not list any projector in display prefs.
Let's get crazy and immediately plug the adapter into the MacBookPro B...it works-oh so logical...NOT! Why wasn't it corrupted this time by MBP A? MacBookPro B readjusts its screen to 800X600 stretched and projector immediately recognizes and projects desktop.
Now lets see if I can break it again as before. I unplug it from MacBookPro B and back into MacBook Pro B, knowing that this caused it to stop working previously. And...it still works-WHAT? I do it a third time. It still works on MacBookPro B.
    So,
I plug it back into MacBookPro A...still nothing. Back to MacbookPro B works like a charm. This time it struggles a bit showing that initially it sees a signal from MacBookPro B of 1192X900 (i Think), then the MacBookPro B switches automatically to 800X600 and the projector works.
Wait..I see something amiss! I see in my MBP A menu bar an icon for Labtick which MBP B does not have. I shut down Labtick, plug back in the DVI to VGA adapter and 'Boom' the projector is recognized.
I unplug DVI to VGA adapter and plug back in to MBP A and 'Boom' the projector is recognized again...no it couldn't be!
Well, it is possible it couldn't be because, I shut down the projector, unplug it's power source, plug it back in. I plug it back into the recently working MBP A with Labtick not running, and sorry folks, now the projector doesn't work again. The MBP A does not readjust it's resolution, nor recognize a projector and the projector doesn't recognize the MBP A.
Let's try the projector in MBP B....same deal. Now it doesn't work. Same symptoms of MBP A.
Back to the good ol' iBook. Of course it works.
Now switching over directly to a restarted MBP B. -DOESN'T WORK (as it did using this technique previously)
Now switching over to MBP A- DOESN'T WORK.
As you can see, it is hard even with multiple computers to find a series of doing things that consistently makes the projector work.
Any thoughts, ideas, ways to diagnose? Thanks!

  • Gmail suddenly not working with Apple Mail

My gmail suddenly is not working with Apple Mail.
It said my username or password is wrong, but it was okay this morning.
Nevertheless, I deleted my gmail account, and re-setup it using Internet Accounts from System Preference.
However, I got the beow message:
There was a problem setting up the Mail account. An unknown error occurred.
I am sure my username and password are correct because I just login it using Safari.
Does anyone know what the cause is?
    Please help~~~

Gmail not syncing in mac mail is a problem that is also in snow leopard since the new year.
OSX 10.6.8  is the highest OS that will run on an Intel Core 2 Duo.  Do not try to install Mavericks on this machine! I will install, but turns it into a dinosaur and many programs will no longer run.
I had an issue with Mac Mail not syncing with imap.gmail.com. and Safari not being able to find apple.com.
This was resolved by working with an upper level tech support member for several hours deleating particular system library files, uninstalling most addons, reseting system network settings and a whole lot more! (too much to name here)
    Thank you Apple Tech Support.
