HP 5470c Scanjet on Windows 7 not recognized / will not initialize

Scanner first set up on Windows Xp system. New HP p6710f desktop purchased last year with Windows 7 Home Premium operating system which recognized the scanner on USB and worked flawlessly . Recently rearranged the office which required disconnecting the peripherals, and now the scanner is not recognized .
The product support area on this website says the scanner is not supported on WIn 7 . How then did it work previously ?
And why would HP discontinue support for a product that still has a long useable life ? Is this just a ruse to encourage purchase of new products ? Should the baby be thrown out with the wash water ?
I am not a computer guru , but suspect a 'driver' is needed to get operational again ?

I have tried several troubleshooting efforts. Including the 5 R's - reset, retry, restart, remove itunes, and restore. It takes about 30 minutes for the computer to recognize the iPod when trying to do the restore. I have also tried the following tip from the support site.

I have followed the above tips exactly as laid out. When resyncing the iPod it will start to sync and then it crashes. The computer starts acting very slow, almost to the point of not being usable. I have searched through the discussion pages and see a few people with similar symptons but no exact solution.
Any ideas before I delete everything (except the music library of course) - ipod updater files, itunes, ipod s/w, etc.

after restoring it once again, it has also reverted back to only syncing up to around 400 songs before getting stuck on a track for half an hour before telling me it cannot sync the ipod.

DMG Not Recognized - Will Not Open

After using a time machine backup to transfer my account and data (but not applications) to my new Macbook using Mountain Lion I am unable to open and install the uTorrent .dmg file from their website, (I already had uTorrent installed on my previous backup) recieving the dmg could not be recognized error. I have been able to open other dmg's and I've redownloaded in multiple browsers so it cannot be a corrupted download. I've also chaged the Gatekeeper settings to allow all and used get info to ensure it is opening in DiskImageMounter and this hasn't changed things either. Any assistance with this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I've also have the same problem, a lot of people state that download is incomplete or corrupt. I've installed the same utorrent.dmg on my iMac and it worked without any issues.
The guys in the uTorrent forum keep saying it's all about the download process, but I have a very stable connection no matter the time and traffic, no downtimes, the MBP is brand new, I have nothing much installed on it, just set up the Mac OS X Lion 10.8.4.
I personally believe it might be something wrong with the dmg that uTorrent provides.

I am sorry but Acrobat 7 is not at all compatible with Windows 8. For this, you will need to upgrade your Adobe Acrobat version.

Have you verified that your Windows 8.1 is a Pro or Enterprise edition? The Basic edition cannot join a domain.

Windows 7 installation will not recognise the Bootcamp disc!

I have a 2008 Macbook running Snow leopard.
Installed Win 7 via bootcamp but when I insert the Mac Snow Leopard disc to install the Bootcamp drivers etc after the Win 7 install has succeeded, the Windows 7 installation will not recognise the disc!
Any ideas

If you used your Leopard DVD then it won't work.
As ScuseMe said only the OSX Snow Leopard DVD contains the drivers for Windows 7.

i'm not sure your expectations are realistic. ps 5 was designed for win95.
you can't fault adobe for failing to design ps 5 so it would be compatibile with an os that wasn't in existance when ps 5 was released.
to be sure, adobe did not warrant their software would work with all future operating systems. and no other software company can or does make such a claim.

Normally if a Mac does not recognize a keyboard it asks you to press certain keys to identify the keyboard. What is happening on screen with this keyboard? What serial number are you referring to?

I have the Student package installation so I am unable to uninstall then re-install as one off set up. Or is it possible to get the re-installation on a student package, and if so will I have to re-install everything?

Windows 7 Pro will not restart if printer on.

Hello,
When clicking restart, Windows 7 Pro will not restart with either hp printer (L7680 or C309a) powered on. The screen just stays on 'Starting Windows'. Windows will continue to load after powering down which ever printer is powered on.
This problem just started. Never happened before. I could always click restart with no problem before.
Any help?

Hey joe_do,
I see you are having an issue with the boot sequence of your Windows 7 Pro computer when either of your 2 HP printers are powered on. How are these 2 printers connected with this PC?
It sounds like the devices may be connected USB and somehow the boot sequence for the computer has set priority for USB over the internal HDD.

Regarding your last sentence, if you're referring to AE and PPro files, that is true. But it is not true of Encore project files.

Usually the Windows media Player is not able to play DVD movies IF no plug-ins were installed.
To watch DVD movies you can use the programs like WinDVD or PowerDVD.
Such programs were designed especially for the DVD playing!
But you can also visit the Microsoft website and search for plug-ins for Windows Media player.
Then you could download and install it to play DVD with WMP

Might be worth tearing down the whole iTunes install and starting over...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.
