HP 5530 wireless printer shows offline but it is turned on, I use a router

My printer shows to be offline, sometimes it prints pages at random, which I have no idea why or what they are about, kinda scary, It is turned on and the wirelss light is not blinking, but shows offline when i try to prine from my laptop.Its a HP 5530 all in one,windows 8

I would like to assist you today with resolving the 'offline' issues that you're experiencing when trying to print from your Windows 8 computer to your wirelessly connected HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer. Now, recently Microsoft has released a Hotfix for the Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 Operating Systems to 'fix' offline printing issues as Microsoft recognizes this as an issue with their latest Operating System. Therefore, to start, I am going to have you run the Hotfix to see if this resolves the printing issues.
Can I please have you click here to access the Hotfix page. Once the website opens select the 'Hotfix Download Available' button. Allow the Hotfix to run. Please follow any onscreen steps to install the Hotfix.
Once the fix has completed, please test printing again. Should the Offline issue persist there is an additional driver fix that I may need to walk you through. Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

I have a desktop and laptop configured with W7 64 bit. On laptop printer works fine, on desktop printer shows offline constantly and the only way to get it running again is by uninstalling the software and reinstalling. I have gone online and downloaded the drivers for 64 bit but I keep getting messages indicating the HP (xxxxx) program 32 bit has stopped working. Not getting this on laptop. Let's try to get the printer back to 192.168.0.103.
Browse to the printer's web page again.
Select Networking, then Wireless.
Select IPv4 Configuration.
Select Manual IP Address
Enter 192.168.0.103 for the Manual IP Address
Enter 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet Mask
Enter 192.168.0.1 for the Gateway
Press Apply.
Now turn off your computer and printer.
Turn on the printer and wait a minute. Print the network configuration page and verify that the IP address show is 192.168.0.103
Turn on the computer. Verify that you can browse to the printer's web page and that you can surf the internet.
Try printing

Printer is offline but it is not

Have had this printer 2 weeks and not a problem in the world. all of a sudden today it will not print. says the printer is offline but 'offline' is not checked. I am using a usb so not using wireless. tried the shut everything down and start up thing. didnt work. altho i am not using the wireless I did try to get it to connect with wireless and it will not. I am trying to print a pdf that was downloaded to the desktop which is what I do 20 times a day. help.....

ENVY 5530 printer showing offline on ipad

Just bought the ENVY 5530. Set up on home computer is fine, but not able to print from iPad. Keep getting error message stating printer is not online.
I've checked printer status on HP Connected and it shows online. Wifi connection indicator (blue light) on printer control panel is lit and not blinking. How is it possible that the iPad can locate the printer, but still come back with a message that the printer is offline? How else could the iPad locate the printer - makes absolutely no sense.
Any guidance is greatly appreciated. Please do not send me the following lnk as I found it to be useless.

You should be able to print using the iPad's in built printing app, AirPrint.
On IOS7 when selecting your image to print, try following the steps below:
If you're still not able to print using AirPrint, then I'd suggest powering down the printer and plugging it out for 30 secs before powering up again. If you still can't print, I would then restart your iPad and try to print again.
When you click the options Icon you should then be able to select the print Icon below: (You might need to scroll right after you hit options button to see the print icon)
You should then be in a position to select your printer. If the wi-fi function is on, then it should be visible.

HP 6310 All In One showing Offline but it's not

Two other computers on home network are able to detect and print to an ethernet-to-router-connected HP6310. However, a third computer (Dell Latitude laptop) is showing the HP6310 installed in the Printer Folder on the home network, but is always showing up as Offline (it's not, because the other printers are able to print to it). So I can't wirelessly print to it from the Latitude laptop. However, from this same laptop, I am able to print wirelessly to ANOTHER printer (HP Laserjet 6P) that is on the network. I have tried turning off the network firewall, but that does not solve the problem.

nope...here are the options when i right click on the HP6310:

Printing preferences
Pause printing
Cancel all documents
Sharing
Create Shortcut
Delete
Properties
On the other HPLaserjet 6P printer that IS printing from the Latitude laptop, it doesn't give the USE PRINTER OFFLINE option either. However, there are some other printers in the folder (where do these printers come from anyway, like "Microsoft XPS Document Writer") that do give the option to USE PRINTER OFFLINE.

Cannot Print, Showing offline, Win 8.1

I have two lexmark printers Pro700 and X4580. Both these are wireless connected to the desktop pc. Now I could print comfortably on both the printers without any trouble, until about a month back they both started showing offline.
I tried uninstalling the drivers and re-installing them... did not change anything.
I went to the Printer Manager and attempted adding printer and shows that "windows can't open add printer. The local spooler service is not working.......". For this I went to local services, started it and did everything sensible that I
could but still no luck.
Can someone please help me.. its been over a month that I could print any thing, I have been spending a fortune at FedEx and staples on printing. Will changing to a different brand printer solve the problem,?

The print spooler service is crashing most likely due to print drivers causing some corruption in the process memory. The first thing I would do is enable Print driver isolation to prevent print driver rendering and upgrade tasks from corrupting spooler
process memory. Next would be to move any pending print jobs that get scheduled on spooler start up. Just move any .SPL and .SHD files from \windows\system32\spool\printers to another location. I'd reboot at least once for the policy change.

Can I hook an HP envy 5530 wireless printer, to my HP Pavillion a1610n

I am trying to hook up the wireless printer to my older (2006) desktop, so we an connect our laptop and smart phone all on one network. I have cable with a router for operating the laptop and smart tv. Can hook this desk top up to this printer, and if so, some basic instructions would be great, and if not what printer would you suggest?

The 5530 has a rear USB port so it can be wired to your computer. And yes that wireless PCI card will make your desktop a wireless computer too. You can also use a USB wireless adapter if you want.

Wireless printer is offline and I can't get it back online

I have a HP Envy 700-414 Desktop PC operating with Windows 8.1 (64-bit) system that was connected wirelessly to a HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer. It worked fine for the first couple of days. Now it says that my printer is offline. I've tried several troubleshooting tips, but none have worked. How can I get my printer ONLINE again?? Please help! Getting frustrated!!

Thanks for the post. I might recommend checking this document below to address the offline messages. We may just have some stubborn print jobs in queue that have not printed that need to be cleared. Good Luck!

Canon Pixma MX 450 printer showing offline with OS X 10.7.5

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I joke with Canon's IT department that I keep them employed! I was calling them at least twice a week for a few weeks to try to fix the problem, but was unable to find a resolution. I returned a less expensive Canon printer today, in a desperate attempt to get my wireless connection to work! I just installed a Canon Pixma MX450 wireless print, copy, scan, fax with my OS X 10.7.5. Everything seemed to be going great. The setup was fine when communicating between the router and printer; none of those connections failed. However, once I installed the software from Canon and tried to setup the wireless connection from the computer to the printer, the printer could not be detected wirelessly-I had to pull out the 'ol USB. With the USB, the printer was detected. The test print page printed, which game me a false hope! I tried a dummy page from Pages and Word both, but nothing prints. The printer error indicates the printer is offline and not connected. This is the same problem I had with the less expensive Canon. Help! I want to be able to use the wireless function that I paid for to print. Thanks

When you connected the MX450 to the Mac via USB cable, it would have created a printer in Print & Scan for this USB connected printer. If you then disconnect the MX450 USB cable from the Mac but then attempt to print to the MX450 using the printer that was created for the USB connection, this will result in the "Printer Offline" message.
So, are you trying to print with the MX450 printer that was created for the USB connection?
If you are not using the USB printer and definitely using the printer that you created when the MX450 was connected to your wireless access point (wireless router), then try removing this printer from Print & Scan and creating the printer again.
If you cannot find the printer when you try to add it again then check the wireless network settings via the control panel on the front of the printer. It will confirm what wireless network it is connected to and what IP address it has acquired.

How to fix single wireless printer showing up as several (bonjour) printers?

I have the following problem with a wireless printer/scanner connected using bonjour (Samsung SCX-3205W):
When using the device in wireless mode, after a period, the single printer shows up in the selection list as tens or even hundreds of seperate printers. Applications showing/selecting printers or scanners slow down dramatically and sometimes stop responding (beach ball rotating for long periods)

The device works fine using USB or ethernet connection but problems arise when using the wireless connection. After adding the printer using System Preferences / Print & Scan it seems to work fine, atleast for a while. After some time the printer seems to multiply itself in the printer lists (e.g. when adding new printer or using Preview or Image Capture to scan and choosing a network device.)
I'm using OS X 10.7.3 and have the latest drivers for the printer (Samsung SCX 3200 series 1.01.01)
Im connected to the printer through a wireless router/adsl-modem
The problem seems to start (i.e. printer starts to "multiply") after the printer goes into power save mode. (The power save function can't be turned off, only set to max 120min)
Anyone have similar problems with other wireless printers or any idea what might be causing this? Or how I could fix it?

I haven't received any replies to the question I recently posted, but one work-around that HP suggested is to use different scanning software. Instead of Image Capture, I used the HP Scan.app that came with my all-in-one printer. I haven't seen those rectangles in my PDFs since switching.

J4860 printer showing offline

My wireless printer is no longer working. It has worked for two years but since I recently unplugged the printer, it has stopped working. I have Windows XP. i've printed a network config report and the status shows connected. I restarted the router, laptop and printer, but it still doesn't work.

Please reconfigure the device in order to re-establish the wireless communication with the PC:
Enter Control Panel > Printers and Faxes
Right click any J4680 printer icon, then click Delete.
Right click My Computer, then click Manage.
Open the Device Manager from the left pane.
Expend the Imaging Devices category, uninstall the HP Officejet J4680 if listed.
Reboot your PC.
Enter Control Panel > Printers and Faxes
Click File > Print Server Properties.
Under the Ports Tab, make sure to remove any listed TCP / IP Port.
Reconfigure your device by clicking Start > All Programs > HP > HP Officejet J4680 > Add a Device / Reconfigure wireless connection link.
If such a link does not exists, instert the installation CD. then click Add a Device from the main installation screen.

Wireless printer goes offline

I recently purchased an HP Laserjet Pro CP 1025nw wireless printer. If I turn off the printer it is offline when I turn it back on. I left it on all night and it was offline this morning. The only way to resurrect it is to uninstall and install the program. When I attempt to download solutions, all I get is to uninstall the program - back to square one. Has anyone else encountered this problem and discovered a fix?

Let's set a static IP address for the printer:
- Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
- Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
- Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
- On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). You can change the DHCP range of the router using its internal settings page.
- Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
- Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway and first DNS. Leave the second one blank.
- Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

I can see my wireless printer in devices, but can't get it to print

I have a new MacBook Air and cannot get it to print to my existing wireless printer. I can see it in Devices and Printers, but it just cycles on "Connecting to Printer" then times out.

It sounds like you are not able to print to your printer because it keeps timing out when you try. I would use the troubleshooting steps from the following article to help you get that printer going again. It may be something as simple as re adding the printer if you've already restarted both the printer and the computer already:

Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again. Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.

Wireless Printing stopped working but ONLY on my G72...not on other laptops on my home network.

Hi...I have an HP G72 laptop running windows7 64 bit and an HP deskjet4500 all in one printer with with a Belkin wireless G home network . The wireless printing has been working fine for months and it STILL works from a different laptop. I am able to print from the G72 with a USB cord but when I try wireless I get an error message saying printer not connected. I've tried walking through the troubleshooting tips but nothing seems to work. Can anyone provide some help? Thanks!
