HP 620 -System start-up failure after hibernation due to low battery

Morning,
My Laptop is a HP 620. Well, a fortnight ago, i was opening a large pdf file on my pc. Unfortunately my battery was low. It prompted me of this but just before i could plug in the charger, it began the hibernation process. I charged it and later tried to start it up-it couldn't start up. I tried this severally but it couldn't start-up.
Every time it passed the stage where the CMD cursor blinks thrice before it initiates windows, the screen always remains on but doesn't load any windows files and continues running without booting up.
I have done all the checks ranging from start-up to memeory diagnostics-apparently everything is fine(passed all the tests). I am stranded. Can someone advice me please?

Hi @Danesil_Rasheed,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you cannot get your HP 620 Notebook PC to boot up. Your notebook is a Business computer and you would get the best answer to your questions on the Commercial forum. You can post your questions here at the HP Enterprise Business Community.
In the meantime, here is the HP 620 Notebook PC support page, that may have a solution for you. You could also try HP PCs - Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8) to restore your computer to a point before this issue started.
I hope this information helps, please let me know how it goes.
Take care and have a great day!

In the course of migration MacBook switched off due to low battery. After recharging the progress bar doesn't move. How to continue the migration?

I've never seen the Migration Assistant resume from sleep - for that matter I've never seen a computer go to sleep while MA was running. (If there's a next time, don't try this without the computer being plugged in.) You will probably have no choice but quit the migration and start over.

  • Macbook Pro won't login after sleep (sleep with low battery -- mac turned off maybe it's called save sleep)

Macbook Pro won't login after sleep (sleep with low battery --> mac turned off maybe it's called save sleep)
So if I hit the powerbutton my mbp booted like it is booting from the save sleep (so very fast and the login screen is there in about 10 sec.and there is no apple logo while booting just the desktop screen in "unsharp" ore foggy however...)
Then when i see the login (if the keyboard backlight turned on) i wand do tipe in my code but it won't work... the trackpad is not working; and when i plug-in a usb mouse the mbp is not powering on the usb-mouse (laser is off)
    Why is that this way?
Is there n option to wake up the mbp fromm deep/save sleep without haveing issiues after that?

Sorry for such a long delayed response...
I was able to get to an apple store this past weekend, and let me tell you... I'm about finished with there great "support".
Right before I went to the store, I tried to eject a disk. Well the cloth in the SuperDrive (I assume to protect the drive from dust and such) Pulled up with my disk. So I get the Apple store, describe my problem and what happened with the cloth piece. The "Genius" writes up a form and tells me they have to run diagnostic and it will take a couple days... and I will get a call when its done (1-3 days).
Well on day number 3 I called up the store and they told me it was ready to be picked up? I asked if anything had been fixed and they told me they could not reproduce my "sleep issue", so they couldn't fix that.. but told me the cloth piece in the SuperDrive had been fixed.
I drive an hour (one way) to the Apple store to find that all they did was PULLED OUT the cloth... they did not replace it! So basically I have a hole for a Super Drive.
I asked why I was not called to say that my computer was ready to be picked up... didn't get an answer on that one.
I asked why my SuperDrive was said to be fixed, when nothing was done... they told me that it would have to be sent out to the factory store for that to be fixed (FIRST TIME THEY MENTIONED THAT!) Oh, and that would take 5-7 business days. Well that's not going to happen right now considering I'm a college student that NEEDS a working computer!
So I go home, angry... start just putting all my important documents back on the computer. And the screen starts blinking!!!! I guess now I have the same thing described in another post on these forms...
Lets just say that I'm not very happy with Apple right now! If anybody else has success on either the sleep issue or the screen blinking issue, please let me know!
    Thank you!

    Hi PECAKO,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you are having some problems upgrading to Windows 8.1. The Automatic System Recovery was that trying to restore Windows 8 or trying to recover 8.1? How long have you had the Pavilion for?

  • Garageband start-up failure after installing or reindexing Loops Library

Bought Logic Pro 9 2 weeks ago and installed it the same day except for the Loops Pack, works like a charm, also the compatibility with Garageband seemed flawless. Last Monday I had installed the Apple Loops Pack and still everything was OK, I had used GB that same evening and no problems.
But... last thursday I accidentally reindexed the Loop Library in Logic, yeah it's dumb but I'm not a native speaker of english and new to Logic. Anyway, all my Loops were missing from the library. Using Time Machine, I managed to pull back Logic from just before reindexing and... it worked! Having recently switched from Windows to Mac has made me very sceptical about these features but to my suprise everything worked just fine, until yesterday i wanted to open up Garageband and couldn't get past the Template menu. So it initializes and shows the template menu, but no matter what I choose, an existing or a new project, it keeps "hanging in there" and just shows the blue and white striped thingy in the grey little window (don't know the english word for this).
So, here's what I've done since then, all without result:
    * I've used Time Machine, dragging it back from different Time-Locations
    * I've searched the support, FAQs and discussion pages and tried:
    - repairing disk permissions
    - deleting the playlists
    - placing the playlists on the desktop
    - opening GB in another User Account, this works fine, so the problem is with an autorisation?
    - opening Logic works fine but if I open a GB in Logic, Logic gets stuck on loading the flanger, so could the problem be here?
    - i've been to the bullets&bones site and read lots of the FAQs
    Here's the latest crash report:

all of this is interesting and a step closer to the solution of my problems, but still I can't open up GB, please give me some feedback here, I wanna know if there's something to be done apart from reinstalling iLife, and then I don't even know if that soves my issue.
    Much obliged
    K

So, here's a small update on my problem:
I've tried once more to open up a GB file in Logic Pro 9, this worked like it should, and after having read something about playlists, i decided to check on the Loops Index, because I suppose that's where the trouble began. I retrieved some playlist files with Time-Machine, without result however. GB keeps refusing to open files, it is however possible to open up the Preferences pane and to change settings. SO here are my questions again:
    1. Have a screwed up GB using time Machine?
    2. Is there a way to fix my problem or should I reinstall iLife? I've read numerous posts about people with similar problems but reinstalling often didn't fix it so I start to get worried, yet I know there's probably a really simple solution for it...

  • System start up failure

Hoping a tech Whiz can solve my Xmas blues.
Mac boots up but about 1min into boot up the system powers off. I have tried all of the reset and restart options in the manual to no avail. I have used the utility disk but it returns an error after 30secs of fixing the hard drive.
Prior to the problem I had just upgraded to iLife8 (yes I know I'm slow!). I was transfering a file into iMovie that I had ripped using Handbrake. I had to Force quit iMovie and after that the machine wouldn't restart.
My local apple shop has replaced the power supply but no joy, next option is to replace the logic board (500 quid!).
    Any sage-like advice out there.
    Happy Christmas
    Mike

Welcome to Discussions - your local Apple shop is probably right and your logic board needs replacing. However, have you tried booting from an external drive?
If you can boot from your install drive, you might want to try an Archive and Install and see if the clears things up.

  • Issues after waking up with low battery-  FileVault?

    Hello,
Its not a problem - its rather description of a problem that Ive encountered .
Recently Ive migrated my MacBook Pro 15inch mid 2012 to Yosemite. Meanwhile started to use FileVault.
Two days ago Ive put to sleep MacBook with a about 5 % of battery.
On the saturday morning Ive open by laptop and wait...wait...wait and nothing happened. Connected power and wait( but it never was the case in previous releases!!)
After few minutes of waiting Ive push power button - I can hear sound of fans but nothing happen.
Then once again after 5 minutes pushed power button for a 5 sec  and Ive heard Startup sound and still nothin appeared on the screen.
Ive left box and for about 5 minutes Ive received on the screen window with message like " please choose which method of reset password you would like to use " (or something similar )
Ive been quite surprise as Ive did not request pass reset:/
SO Ive reset password and after reboot still nothing appeared ! Ive tried to boot in safe mode, reset pram etc.. and since then with no help.
With broken heart Ive tried to run reinstall mode  (cmd +R) and it got me to the menu - then it once again prompted me with the message " please choose pass reset method " and then reboot and after that Ive been able to get into disk utility ! Ive made disk scans ( both for boot partition and main disk) - no errors, then run a few times repair on both disks - also - prompted " all fine " and then reboot my Macbook.
Ahhh- that was triumph ! My mac was up and running !
My educated guess is that something happened with password stored for my disk volume. After my laptop drain battery in sleep mode  password was lost but due to some bug it did not ask to enter pass by hand so it initiated something strange!

Oh, I wasn't thinking power iteruptions outside your Mac, I was suspecting internal problems... it's the only thing I can think of that covers your symptoms.
Hibernation saves the state of the computer from top to bottom, & since it's fine after a short sleep, we can assume I think that it's being saved to Disk fine, & not likely changing on the Disk, but I think the RAM must be getting flaky waking after a long sleep.
I think I'd give this a try, then reboot without reinstalling...

  • T500 performance loss and restart issue after low battery shutdown

    Hi,
Some days ago I experienced a significant loss in performance of my T500. Unfortunately it seems to be a continuous loss and the games I play, e.g. empire total war that did run ok before are nearly unplayable at the moment.
Additionally, when the computer shuts down due to low battery, it no longer manages to resume windows but always crashs during reboot (black screen and hard disk symbol is moving, no other activity for 10 minutes)
I am working with the standard vista installation and installed all automatic updates, but also every time when I shutdown the computer, no matter how long it has been running (even after 1 minute and after a rebooting 3 minutes ago), the red shutdown symbol in start shows that an update needs to be installed.
    any ideas?
    Many thanks in advance !

Well, the problem, seem's to have reoccured: Battery ran out (even the indicator leds on the side didn't show any life), Time reset  to 1.1.2001, again some rebooting and setting the time again...
Is this a sign of a degrading battery health status?
It looks like reseting the SMC didn't help after all.

  • MacBook shuts down after low battery warning

    Hi,
up until recently my macbook's battery has been working just fine. but then lately i noticed that a few minutes after it displays the low battery warning it shuts down by itself.
before, when the low battery warning would display i could still continue working on my macbook for several minutes until it goes to sleep -- only then would i connect it to the power cord.
unlike the other posts (concerning batteries) that i've read, i have no problems turning my macbook on/off before or after this event has occured. neither does it shut itself down when the battery is halfway. my problem really only happens after the low battery warning has been displayed.
i wanted to calibrate my battery but then that would require my macbook to go to sleep once it reaches a battery level of less than 5%-10% -- mine just shuts down completely.
is this shutting down thing a substitution mechanism to save the laptop's memory -- instead of going to sleep, it'd just shut down?? how can i fix this?
thanks in advance for the help.
MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   512MB, 2GHz Intel Core Duo

For what it is worth, I now have the same issue. Only I don't even see the low battery warning, it gets to 15% or 10% and bang, no power. This is not good, by the way and is bound to corrupt something in the system as OSX requires some house keeping when you shut down the computer properly. This instant off is not a proper shut down. I took my MacBook in and they wouldnt simply replace the battery, they want to keep the computer and give it back to me in a few days. I rely on this puter for work 5 days a week, so I was trying to avoid this.
Oh well I guess a trip to the Apple store is unavoidable.

  • Shut down after low battery warning

    Hi
After I get the low battery warning on my iBook G4 (about 30 seconds) my iBook unexpectedly shuts down, I have tried recalibrating the battery several times, including shutting the lid to put it to sleep after the warning then plugging it in and waking it (to recalibrate you are supposed to wait until the machine sleeps) and letting it charge right up.
I have also tried resetting the PMU, although I dont think this is working as I hit shift-ctrl-apple/option-and the power button, and all that happens is the machine starts up as usual, according to the documentation, I should have to then power up the machine.
Is itr just that my battery hasd had it? I have notice it only takes an hour/hour and a half to run the battery down, and only about 30mins or so to charge.
Thanks for any help in advance.
    Mike

That definitely sounds like a battery that wants to be replaced.
My iBook behaved in a similar manner--except the "low battery" warning wouldn't even show up!
I think it's time for you to pick up a new battery--they run about $100.

  • Windows 8.1 desktop PC not starting after hibernation

    Hi,
I have a PC that is not starting after hibernation. There are different errors appearing after my tries to repair the boot. I have tried to find a document online describing the boot process but I can't find any. I know how it worked in the old days with boot.ini
and such but this new one is hard to figure out without a desciption.
First I tried to use the automatic repair process but that didn't work. I have also tried bootrec, bootedit, and bcdboot.
I then bought the Easy Recovery Essentials from NeoSmart Technologies but that didn't help to fix the issue, PC still boots to error 1. below. I tried the following process that they suggested:
I have followed the instructions on this link http://j.mp/BcdRepair that they suggested but it didn't help. Instead of the two errors I have come across (PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED and error code 0xc000000f on file \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD via F8, both with
white text on blue background), I got to a black page with grayish text telling me the following:
    Windows Boot Manager
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
    1. Insert your Windows installation disc [...]
    2. Choose your language [...]
    3. Click "Repair your computer."
    File: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
    Status: 0xc000000f
Info: The application or operating system couldn't be loaded because a required file is missing or contains errors.
It looks like one boot entry gets added to the boot menu every time the PC runs the automatic repair process. In the boot menu I now have more than ten occurrences of Windows Boot Manager.
    Errors:
    1. Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart [...] you can search online later for this error: PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED
    2. Manual boot to one of the Windows Boot Manager entries that appears via F8 gives me the error code 0xc000000f on file \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD.
I even tried to copy the BCD from an exactly identical PC but then the path to the BCD disappeared and I'm not sure what drive letter to enter in bcdedit because C: is not C: but X: when booted into Advanced resque mode.
I could just reinstall Windows 8.1 but it feels frustrating, all the files are there. I just need to fix the boot.
Sorry if this post is a bit of messed up, that's about how I feel right now... :)
Does anyone have any suggestions and/or can point me in the direction of a nice document describing how the boot process works, where the BCD is located (I have several on the PC) I would be very happy.
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,
According to your description, in my opinion, it seems like not bcd file problem. It's PC itself problem, maybe a hardware problem, also can be system componments corrupt.
Can this PC startup successfully if you choose reboot or shutdown PC? Or this problem just occures after resume system from hibernate?
For Windows boot process knowledge, you can refer to the contents of the link below for more details:

For your problem, in my opinion, it would be better to use System installation to fix this system file for test.

  • Nokia E61 system error, phone start-up failure

Good day I did a software update(RM89) on my E61 phone. After completion and start up my phone gave me a system error and then phone start up failure. How can i reset or go in to safe mode to rective to problem?

The only things you can try are:
    1) Read this post in the Pool of Knowledge:
    Recovering from a failed update
and 2) Take your phone into a Nokia Care Point. Note that if your phone is still in the warranty period and it got bricked as a result of using NSU, the repair is covered under the warranty.
