HP 6300 All-in-One problems

My 6300 is giving me problems whenever I want to print/scan (I don't fax so I don't care about that). I connect it to my MBP via USB cable. Whenever I try to print something, it will show up in the print queue, and continue to say "opening printer connection." Sometimes it will print and most of the time it wont. I've tried deleting it from my printer list and reinstalling it under a different name, but that only works some of the time as well.
In the HP Printer Utility it will repeatedly say that it lost the connection to the printer. I'll reconnect, then it will pop up again after reconnecting.
Any solutions would be great.
Thanks.

You mean when I physically reconnect the printer to my laptop or within the program?
edit I disconnected the printer. Deleted the old one, clicked add then plugged it back in. It read that it was there, I added it then went to print. The task went from printing to stopped. I had the utility open at the time, once it went to stop, the HP utility said that it lost the connection to the printer and I clicked reconnect.
I printed the document again, it did print this time, however the HP utility continually said that it lost the connection. The printer queue also said something along the lines of fatal error lost connection to printer or something. The document still printed though. But this is the hassle I have to go through to print every time.

  • Printer to take cartridges from OfficeJet 6300 All-in-one

    Hi
I have an OfficeJet 6300 All-in-one which I really use just as a printer. I'm also running short of space so am looking to replace it with a standalone printer.
I have built up a stock of cartridges for the 6300 (337,339 and 342,343).  Can somebody recommend a printer that will be able to take my cartridges?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Do you still keep the covers ? Compatible printers should be on the covers.
    Regards.
    Edit:
Actually the number may vary from country to country, based on the following link, nothing fits your printer even same 337:

  • HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one problem printing. Ink System Failure has failed unable to copy--

I'm having a problem printing on my HP Photosmart C7280 All-In-One. The following message is what came up on the printer screen: Ink System Failure has failed unable to copy, receive faxes or print. Refer to printer documentation Error O.cl9a0007.
    Does anyone have any suggestions?
    This question was solved.

Hey Spider! First off welcome to the forum.
I would recommend removing all the ink cartridges, unplugging the USB cable from the computer that connects to the printer, and then shutting the printer off completely by removing the power cord. Then restart your computer. Turn the printer back on but leave it disconnected from the computer. After it has finished its power on cycle go ahead and insert the ink cartridges back into the printer and be sure to seat them properly.
After you have all the cartridges back in the printer properly then connect it to the computer. See if this resolves the issue. If not post back with any findings.
    Thanks,

  • HP LaserJet CM1015 MFP All-In-One problem

HP LaserJet CM1015 MFP All-In-One Printer gives a couple of vertical lines 1,5 inch from the right side (facing the printed paper), across the whole length of the paper. Same for different kinds of paper. Lines are more visible in colorpages. Same problem when I scan a page, so no software problem. Cleanprocedure from HPToolbox FX did not help. What can I do?
    Thanks in advance for help.

I will need a little more information in order to help out. What email client are you using to the send the ePrint job to the printer? Are you including attachments? What are the file types and sizes of the attachments if you are sending those? Have you tried sending the email to the printer from a different email client like Gmail or Yahoo!? What OS are you using on the computer that you are sending the email to the printer? Is the printer the only recipient of the email? Thank you.

  • Issue setting up eFax on HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One "Problem connecting to internet"

I'm having an issue setting up eFax on my new HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One. I am following the on-screen instructions and receive an error "Problem connecting to internet" when trying to register the account. The ePrint service is working, and I can use the facebook app on the printer so it seems to be connecting to the internet. I am uncertain how to resolve the issue.

Let's set a static IP address and external DNS for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') to 250
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway.
    - Enter 8.8.8.8 for the first DNS and 8.8.4.4 for the second DNS.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

    Hi there,
Try downloading and running the print and scan doctor located here:

  • HP PSC 1317 All-In-One Problems

I am using a HP PSC 1317 All-In-One printer located on my Windows network, Mshome, connected to my Desktop Computer (PC). Using two Windows-powered laptops with the HP PSC printer being 'Shared' I am successfully able to print out documents over the network, wirelessly.
Today I have spent most of my time trying to get this same result using my PowerBook G4.
I connect to my Network, Mshome, open up a document and select print. My current printer is not listed so I click to add one. I then go through the steps required to add a printer to my PowerBook over the network. This all goes well until is lists it as 'Generic' to which I open up and select HP. I scroll up and down the list umpteen times to find my printer model is not listed so for most of my day I have been trying out official HP drivers for OS X for my model of printer including 3rd party drivers that all don't seem to work.
I bit the bullent and decided to install the printer directly via USB on to my PowerBook. Despite installing unwanted applications on my PowerBook that works and I can print out successfully. Using this same method, I try to add the printer over the network, with it still plugged in to my PowerBook, thinking that I would be able to locate the drivers, but still no luck (or no idea where these drivers will be located). I give up and plug the printer back in to my Desktop PC and then try to add it using the same process before but unable to locate the required drivers and the product model under HP.
I am totally clueless as to what I can do to have my PowerBook print out my work wirelessly using my HP PSC 1317 All-In-One printer using my Windows Network, Mshome.
Usually I am quite quick to fixing these sort of computer/hardware-related problems but this one simply has me stumped. Any help and adive on this would greatly help and end a wasted day.
    Regards,
    Steve

There was no PSC 1310 model choice in the menu. Deskjet 900 series doesn't work and, yes, at one point I did install Ghostscript. My printer does, however, work on the Windows network using multiple computers and laptops running Windows. Nevertheless, connecting to the network and using the printer using my PowerBook doesn't.
Nevermind. My alternative is that I can send my printable documents to a Windows computer on the network to print out. Nothing I cannot bypass anyway.
    Thanks for the help.

  • HP psc 24110 all-in-one - Problems scanning with OS X v10.5.7

Hi, I have been using my HP psc 2410 photosmart all-in-one printer successfully for the past 10months with my MacBook Pro. I recently upgraded my OSX operating system to v10.5.7. since then my printer has been unable to scan. It will print, copy & fax. Checking the HP website shows the latest version of OS X does not support the scanning function of the psc 2410. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem or do I have to buy another scanner? Alternatively, how do I get back to the previous version of OS X which was supplied with my Computer so that I can get the scan function to work?

    Hi aviete,
There is no full feature software and driver but you can download HP Printer Drivers for OS X. This download includes the latest HP printing and scanning software OS X Mavericks, OS X Mountain Lion, OS X Lion and Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard.
With this driver you can still print and scan, you just wont have HP software to scan from. Scanning to the computer from the printer control panel is only available when using HP Scan software, thus it will not work because there is no HP scan software as apart of the Apple Software Update driver.
    Instead, you can scan using,
Method one: Scan from the Print & Scan window
Method two: Scan from Apple Preview
Method three: Scan from Apple Image Capture
I hope this helps. If you have any additional questions are have any difficulty using any of these methods, please let me know what method you are trying and what the issue/error is. • HP 6300 all in one can't set up for wireless use

can't set up for wireless use

That is because the printer does not support wireless connectivity to a router.  You can with an optional Bluetooth adapter to one computer wireless.  However since this has an Ethernet connection you can connect it to your router via this or you can use the below information to convert your Ethernet wired printer to wireless.
Connect wireless printer anywhere, convert from wired, bypass failed radio, add WPA2 security.

  • 6300 all-in-one BLACK ink

I only want to print in BLACK ink. How do I turn off the color?  THANX

This printer takes a HP 92 right?
There should be an option in print properties to choose print in grayscale. When you hit print look for the properties button then have a search around. There may be a 'features' tab that contains the option. I don't have this exact printer but that's where the option is located in my printer menus. You might have to change again when you want to print in colour.
Alternatively, try just taking out the colour cartridge, then printing. There might be a more elegant solution but I think this may work.

  • HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One Problem

I tried to uninstall and reinstall my HP 6300 Printer but a few things are happening, When the uninstall feature tells me to empty the trash, I get a message that says HP Device Manager is in use. Did I really uninstall it because it's missing from the list of printers. Then I tried to reinstall it from the CD . It apparently runs through the setup function but the install command doesn't appear. Any ideas ?

    HI,
If you can't empty the trash, and you see the device is in use dialog, open Activity Monitor (Applications/Utilities). Click the pop up menu top right in the window, select My Processes.
You can select the printer then click the red Force Quit button.
