HP 6500A (E710N) won't print eprint information sheet

Hi all,
Just got my lovely shiny 6500A, set it up, all went fine, connected to net - fine - but when it came to print my information sheet when I came to setup webenabled services, a message popped up (something like "an information sheet will print shortly"), disappeared after about a second, without me touching it, and then nothing happned. I then clicked  the option to get the printer's email address, "connecting" came up, sat on that for ages, and then went back to home screen.
I've looked through some of the other posts here - I have tried removing webservices and rebooting the power cycle; I have tried returning the entire printer to factory defaults; I have tried using a manual email address. To no avail. Have been doing it for about 4 hours now. Am really frustrated. Can anyone suggest anything? I've tried both wireless and wired (net works with both, eprint works with neither). I bought this printer for eprint and the apps - seems like it's going to have to be returned very soon if I can't get this sorted out.
ANY help would be GREATLY appreciated - really don't want to spend days trying to sort this!
Many thanks all,
ElJ

Hi,
First print HP Network Configuration Page from the printer menu and make a note of Printer IP address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway printed in the page. To print the page, select Setup icon ==> Network ==> View Network Summary ==> Print Report.
In the computer open Internet Explorer browser and enter the printer IP in the address bar and press enter key on the keybaord. This should open a webpage where you can see all the printer info.
In this webpage click on "Network" ==> Wireless ==> IPv4 configuration
Select Manual IP and enter the details of printer IP, subnet mask and default gateway as printed in page.
Select Manual DNS and enter the DNS addresses of your ISP provider. To know the DN address of your ISP,
Click on Start ==> Run. In the Run box type cmd and press OK. This will open Command Prompt.
At the Command Prompt type, ipconfig /all and press enter key.
In the displayed details check for the entries " DNS SERVERS". Enter these IP address in the printer webpage and save the changes.
Turn OFF and turn ON the printer, also turn OFF and turn ON the ePrint from printer menu.
Say "Thanks" by clicking the Kudos Star in the post that helped you.

My All-In-One 6500A Plus won't print any color from IE (v8.0).  I can print all colors from Word, PDF documents, photos, etc. - but not from ANY web page.  At first it only printed Magenta ink, now it acts as if it's printing (feeds the paper, moves the print heads across the page and sounds like it's printing) but the paper comes out blank every time.  If I change the print options to print grayscale and only use black ink, I can get a black only image of the web site.
As I said, ALL OTHER APPLICATIONS PRINT FINE.  ONLY WEB PAGES WON'T PRINT, so please don't tell me it's the ink cartridges.  ;-)

I guess it's time for me to change printer brands.  It will be a long time before I get an HP anything again!

  • M177FW won't print eprint info sheet!

I recently received a HP Laserjet m177fw that replaced a m175nw and I can't enable eprint no matter what. After enabling the service, it will show the eprint email but will not print out any info sheet. Pressing print info sheet on the web interface or the printer's menu will not print anything. Then whatever I try to do under the Network Services tab on the printer will throw up a "Connection Error".
Sometimes it's just gets stuck on a "connecting" screen.
I've tried updating the firmware. Changing routers. Setting DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and setting static IP. I've even given the printer's IP a DMZ setting on the router and still nothing.
I've exchanged the printer after HP connected to my computer and tried enabling ePrint through the web interface but the new one does exactly the same thing.
I'm lost. Without the ePrint enabled the ePrint app on IOS won't do anything.

It seems that the "claim code" i require is the first part of the eprint's email.
I got [edited email by  Moderator]so the claim code should be[edited claim code by moderator].
But it keeps saying "invalid code" on HP's connected website.

  • HP LaserJet Professional P1102w won't print Web Services Information Sheet

    Hi there.
I've spent the last frustrating three hours trying to get the Web Services Information sheet to print on this printer. I need this sheet in order to register for ePrint.
I connect fine wirelessly on my computer to the printer. I have updated the firmware. Twice, to be sure.
I have gone to HP Web Services and clicked Enable
The message I then get is:
"A Web Services information sheet will be printed. Review the sheet for important information."
    However, nothing prints.
I have tried this process with the computer connected wirelessly through my network. I have tried it with the computer connected to the printer via USB. I have printed other things on the computer this way.
I have tried rebooting the network and the printer and then reconnecting
    I have tried these steps:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/ePrint-Print-Apps-Mobile-Printing-and-ePrintCenter/eprint-printer-code-...
(I changed the preferred DNS from 10.0.1.11 and the alternate DNS from 8.8.4.4. to the values suggested)
Afterwards, there was no change. My printer continued to print in every way possible. However, it will not print the Web Services Information Sheet.
I'm very keen on getting my hands on this email so that I can register for ePrint. Can anybody help me? I would be hugely grateful.

Sorry to hear you were unable to setup the wireless again on the p1102w.
I have provided some steps in resetting up the p1102w on wireless network if you decide
to do it again in the future.
Reset the printer back to factory settings.
(turn printer off then hold down the x and the wireless button while turning on the printer until the lights start blinking then release the buttons.
Disconnect the usb cable from the printer.
Disconnect the routers power cable for 10 seconds and then reconnect it again.
Uninstall the p1102w from the computer.
(open cd  and select uninstall or go to uninstall a program from the control panel.)
Run the cd again or download depending what operating system you are running.
Connect the usb cable when prompted to setup the wireless again.
Enter passwords for the network when prompted.
Disconnect the usb cable when prompted.
Should be able to print out the test page now.
Then you should be able to get the web services information sheet to print but will need to print out a self test on the printer to get the new ip address for the printer.

  • Officejet 6500A won't print

My officejet 6500A plus won't print often.  It says it can't communicate with my Asus pc.   I unplug it for a day or two and it starts printing!  Just turning it off doesn't help.  I need to unplug it.  Meanwhile I can't print for days!  Any suggestions?

    Hey @collage,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I would like to assist you today with resolving the communication issues you're receiving on your Windows 8.1 computer when trying to print to your HP Officejet 6500A Plus e-All-in-One Printer. Can I please have you run through the steps below.
    Step 1: Run Microsoft Hotfix:
Microsoft recently released a Hotfix to resolve printing issues on the Windows 8.1 Operating System. I'm going to have you start by running the Microsoft Fix to see if this quickly resolves your intermittent print issues.
    Microsoft Support: Hotfix
Once the website opens, select the Hotfix Download Available box. Run through the onscreen instructions to complete the Hotfix update.
Once the Hotfix is complete, please test printing again. Should the issue persist, please proceed to the next step.
    Step 2: Add Alternate Driver:
Even though there is a Full Feature Software and Driver download available for your printer on Windows 8.1, there is a chance that your Windows 8.1 Operating System is not agreeing with the driver for your printer. To confirm if this is the case please follow the steps below.
Open your Start screen (either by selecting the windows start button in the bottom left hand corner or by selecting the 'Windows' button on the bottom left of your keyboard to the left of 'Ctrl'
In the Start Screen type 'Devices and Printers'
If the Devices and Printers option doesn't automatically populate, than click on Settings on the top right and then click on Devices and Printers.
In the Devices and Printers folder right click on your HP Officejet 6500A Plus and left click on Printer Properties
Left click on the Advanced tab
    Left click on New Driver
When the New Driver window opens just hit 'next' until you see a list of Manufacturers on the left and a list of Printers on the right.
Select HP as the Manufacturer on the left
Select Deskjet 9800 as the printer on the right. If Deskjet 9800 doesn't appear than select 'Windows Update' on the bottom left and once the update completes you will be able to select Deskjet 9800.
After selecting Deskjet 9800 hit next to complete the New Driver Wizard
Under the Printer Properties window select 'Apply' but don't hit OK
    Select the General tab
Rename your printer back to HP Officejet 6500A Plus
    Hit OK
Lastly, right click on your HP Officejet 6500A Plus one more time and left click on Printing Preferences
Left click on the Paper/Quality tab
Left click on the 'Normal' dropdown for Print Quality on the bottom right and change this to Fast Normal
    Hit Apply and OK
    Try to print!
Please let me know if either the Hotfix from Microsoft of the alternate print driver resolves your printing issues. Best of luck!

  • EPrint won't print web pages from Windows 8 Microsoft Surface tablet

ePrint won't print web pages from Windows 8 (x64) Microsoft Surface tablet Any ideas?

    Hello JereTanner,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are trying to print web pages from a Surface tablet. What model of printer are you trying to print to? Also, Is there an error, message, etc, when you try to print? Typically, ePrint is used when printing eMails or forwarding documents / pictures to the printers eMail address, is this how you are trying to print the web page? Since this is a Windows 8 Operating System, you may be able to install full feature software and print that way. When I know more about how you are trying to print, what happens when you try and what printer you are using, I will be able to better help. Cheers,

  • Eprint won't print web pages

If I send an email my d110a prints, but won't print web pages.

    Hey dmorrisp,
Can you pull up your apps? You can try following these steps to resolve your issue.
    1. Find your printer's IP address by printing a network configuration page.
    2. Type you IP address into the address bar of your web browser.
    3. Click on the network tab at the top of the page.
    4. Look at the left hand side and click IPv4 under wireless.
    5. Change the IP settings to Manual.
    6. Enter the printer's IP address, your subnet mask, and your routers IP address or default gateway in the spaces.
    7. Set the Preferred DNS to 8.8.8.8.
    8. Set the Alternate DNS to 8.8.4.4.
    9. Click apply.(You may need to refresh the page if it says processing for longer than a min and click apply again.)
    10. Now try to enable Web Services.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
If I have resolved your issue, feel free to provide Kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided.

  • HP Officejet 6500A printer is idle and won't print

I have an HP Officejet 6500A all in one printer.  I recently moved to a new home, hence new wireless IP address, which I think I have setup correctly as per the print Test page.  I also have a USB  connected to print, as I hardline as well when at my office desk for heavy workload. The printer says idle, and I cannot get it to print.

Welcome to the HP Community Forum. The easier thing might be to remove the printer software from the computer and then install a fresh copy from the printer's support site. Check and make sure you can download a new copy of the Full Feature Software before you remove the printer program from your computer. You might install the printer to print wirelessly so you know it will set up the new wireless information. Help, Instructions, and examples:Install Full Feature Software – Printer   When you connect to the printer's support pages, be sure you grab a copy of the printer's User Guide.  You might also take a look at the extensive number of how-to documents and helpful videos. When you see a Post that helps you,Inspires you, provides fresh insight,Or teaches you something new,Click the "Thumbs Up" on that Post. Click my Answer Accept as Solution to help others find Answers.

  • I cannot get my HP Officejet 6500A Plus 710N to print in color. I have reinstalled the drivers..

I cannot get my HP Officejet 6500A Plus 710N to print in color. I have reinstalled the drivers.  It used to print in color and just stopped.  I think it may be a settings issue?  I have checked the ink levels and they are all fine. When I print a diagnostic report on print qualify, the black prints well, but there is no color printing.

Okay, I had the same problem. It's most likely your printhead. All you have to due is clean it.
Note: I was sceptical of this approach but can fully attest to it's sound results as it restored my printer back to full functionality. Prior to this the printer only would print Black ink.
The print head is the carriage that holds all of your ink cartridges in the printer. On the 6500A it's super easy to remove. Opent your lid like your changing your ink cartridges. Remove all of your ink cartridges. Once they're out. There is a lever on the left side of the carrier that holdes your ink cartridges. Lift it up and the print head comes right out. Net take your print head to the sink and run it under hot water aiming towards the the four cirles were the ink flows into. Keep running it under the hot water until it is coming out clear. It's okay to run it under the bottom part too infact you'll need to inorder to get it completely rinsed out. Also don't touch the computer metal strips with your hand thought you can run water over them. Once your done rinsing use a blow dryer or a can of compressed air (thats what I did) to dry every thing out. I was able to get everything dry in about 5 minutes or so. Let it sit for a few minutes and check it again for water. I recommend moving it around to get full exposure to insure it is dry. Also if you use a hair dryer try to put it on a cold setting since there ar rubber grommets the surrount the inlet ink ports you wouldn't want to melt them with the hot air etc.. Like I said I used a can of compressed air.  It's important to use a quick method of drying as mentioned otherwise mineral particles could become deposited on the unit. This won't happen with the methods as I've described because the molecules won't be able to bond since your blowint them off. Oh yeah, you'll want to place a clean peice of paper down as your blowing because at first you'll end up with a few black jet marks as your blowing. Also don't wear your favorite white shirt lol.
Okay once it's dry replace the print head carriage back in push the lever down install the ink cartridges. Close the lid then unplug the printer. Wait 5 seconds plug it back in then it will reboot and start its set up procedure kind of like whet you first bought the printer except you won't have to change any of your network or setup setting since they are saved in memory. Also be patient about the set up procedure it seemed very slow for me. Once it finishes you will be prompted to run the printer alignment process. Run the alignment process and you should be all good. If not at least you gave it a shot. If this doesn't work your going to have to pay $60 for a new printer head. Which is not that big of a deal but hey if you can fix it for free why not. If you do decide to buy a new printer head you might find deals online or ebay just make sure it's an Genuine HP print head. And lol use the Genuine HP ink cartridges. Finally make sure you print at least on colored page per month to make sure the ink doesn't clog up in the future.
Remember this suggestion is after you have run the HP clean ink cartridge procedure twice. Sometimes the clean procedure will correct the problem first. Also there is video I watched on YouTube about this just search for "Clean HP 6500 print head. Hope that helps
Once it's all dry just reinstall the printer head carriage

  • Laserjet M475DW won't print last page from iPad

It's all in the subject. The printer prints fine via the iPad PrinterControl app but won't print the last page of the Word document or Powerpoint slide deck. Since you can't choose which page to print from PrinterControl, I can't force the printer to print only the last page. The ePrint app looks like you can choose to print only the last page, but the pages shown on the iPad's screen in print preview don't match the actual pages of the document, so there's no control. Printing via the iPad's native email app gives crazy font size and overwritten text. Can anyone please help me? Thanks in advance.

    Lg28,
I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial printer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .

I'm guessing, but it seems that after updating with io7 my ipad/printer won't print! It finds the printer no problem ( it's an HP office jet 6500A plus) but nothing happens when I press print! I've tried through different apps, turning router. Ipad and printer off then on again and reset network settings on both ipad and printer but to no avail!! I can find my way around ipad basics but am no techie, so am hoping it's something simple and I'm just being blonde...or is it a flaw with the io7? Any advice much appreciated! Than you :)

    Hello Stormie9,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when printing from your iPad.  You have taken some really good steps already to isolate and troubleshoot the issue.
I found an additional resource with a few more steps.  You can skip any steps you have already taken, but step 3 specifically stands out for the issue you described:
If you are unable to print, or if you see the message "No AirPrint Printers Found"
    Verify that the printer:
Has power and is turned on. If it has power, turn the printer off and then on again to see if that resolves the issue.
Is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the iOS device.
Has the latest firmware version installed.
Has paper with enough ink or toner installed.
Is free of any errors displayed on the printer's control panel.
If necessary, consult the printer documentation or contact the printer vendor for help with the above steps.
You can find the full article here:

Is your printer connected to a wireless network with Internet access?
Do other web services work on the printer? Meaning, can you use ePrint or the Printables on the front panel? (printables = apps on the printer like Disney, Menu Planner, Quick Forms, and so on.)
