HP 670 all-in-one / printer offline?

I've had my 6700 for quite a while and it used to print fine?  Now I can only print system configurations and supply levels.
Nothing will print from my print que.
Seems to have something to do with a new router, even though the printer says it has a good internet connection-this all started with a new Netgear access point?
So my Macbook has a great connection and my printer says its connected, but nothing will print, I only get a "printer offline: with each job?
Also on my print status the "server" light is red on my connections?
I'm exhausted trying to figure this out - help please.

Hi there lindaswan
I saw your post about your printer showing it's offline and will not print from your Mac. I would suggest following the steps in the guide below:
'Printer is offline' Message Displays on the Computer and the Printer Does Not Print: Mac OS X
If that does not help, check the settings on your router. Here is the info you need:
Network name and password need to have no spaces or punctuation
If using WPA2 security, switch to WPA personal
Dual broadcast Wireless b/g/n (printer will only connect to g)
Mac filter needs to be turned off
Firewall settings need to be at there default settings, or set to a lower security
Multicasting "on"
Following ports need to be un-blocked:
Incoming (UDP) ports : 137, 138, 161, 427
Outgoing (TCP) ports : 137, 139, 427, 9100, 9220, 9500
Enjoy your weekend

  • HP Deskjet 2540 Series All in One Printer Offline

Ok so I have had this problem for what seems like forever now. This has happened multiple times, and I always have had to use online HP tech support to fix it, but this time I don't seem to have that option. My printer says that the status is offline, and I really need to print something. I have gone through the forums, tries multiple different answers that multiple people say will work, and nothing has worked so far.

HI , Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I understand that you're having issues with your HP Deskjet 2540 Printer going offline. I would like to look into this with you. There are many reasons why this might be happening, is your printer connected wirelessly? Important! Do you turn your printer off between uses? If your printer is connected wirelessly, I recommend you always leave it on so it stays connected to your wireless network. Otherwise, it will lose the wireless network configuration and will need to be setup again and again. To determine which of these documents is suited to the problem, it will depend on whether your wireless light is blinking or is solid. If your wireless light is blinking, then it is no longer on the wireless network. Follow this guide, HP Deskjet 2540 and HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 2540 All-in-One Printer Series - Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection. If the wireless light is solid, than it is still connected the wireless network. Follow this guide, HP Printers - 'Offline' Printer Status Message Displays (Windows 8). What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (did it print or scan, any error messages)
Please respond to this post with the result of your troubleshooting. I look forward to hearing from you. Good Luck!

  • Officejet 7310xi All in One Printer no longer connects wirelessly

    Hello all,
My Officejet 7310xi All in One Printer no longer connects wirelessly.
The printer does no show up while searching for it wirelessly where it had previously.
In the past it would say that the printer (HP Series 7300) was offline.  I would remove the device through the control panel and search again.  A printer would be found as HP Series 7300 (Copy 1) . A "ghost" of the original would remain as an offline device.  I would default to the new printer icon, Copy 1, and it would work.  This happened over the course of a year without any problems.
Now nothing is working.  The printer can't be found by my network.  I tried downloading drivers, etc. from HP but they either can't download or stop during installation. I don't know if an Windows 8.1 update affected it.
Although the printer has a built in  network set up option, it has no installation wizard.  I can't find a way to activate the wireless feature/icon.  There is no I.P. address either.
I feel like a monkey pulling levers for a banana!  I appreciate your help.

    Hey @Kathlanta ,
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to ask that question on the HP Forums today!
    I understand you are having issues with your HP Officejet 7310xi connecting and staying on your network. Going through all of this is making you feel much like this;
    By the end of this I want you feeling more like this;
Now let's get to the bottom of this and have some fun doing it! (and no, I have not completely adopted the idea that you are a monkey, but for the time being, seems most fitting LOL )
Ok, so what we are going to start with here is; a full print system uninstall and reinstall and run it through USB to test the printers functionality.
Here is how you uninstall the whole printer software on 8.1 >> Uninstalling The Printer
Here is how you install the drivers offline (use the appropriate links to get your steps) >> Installing HP Printer Software for a USB Connection in Windows 8
You wont need to worry about the wireless right yet until we figure out if the rpinter hardware is ok or not. So sit tight on that portion, I'll get that all back and working later after we figure this stuff out now.
Look forward to hearing back from you! Have a good one!

  • Installing HP PSC 1350 all-in-one printer/scanner

In the past, I could usually solve the "Offline" or "Not Connected" problems by unplugging my printer for a few minutes, but that no longer works. So, I decided to buy another one. However, just before clicking on the BUY button on Amazon, I decided to try to fix the problem one more time. Part of the "fix" was deleting my printer from the computer and then reinstalling it. This is where I'm now stuck. I deleted it, but I can't reinstall it. I get to the ADD window, but everything is grayed out. So, how do I install my printer? I might add that the HP instructions that I was following (OSX v. 10.9 Mavericks- Installing and using the printer on a Mac) are what got me this far.

Have you installed the v10.9 Mavericks compatible driver yet >>  Software & driver downloads HP PSC 1350 All-in-One Printer | HP® Support
After you download the driver, open System Preferences > Printer & Scanners > Print
Delete the current printer by selecting it then click -  (minus)
Then click + to add the printer back in.
That should load the driver for you.

  • HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-In-One printer

    I am running Windows 8.1
    The printer status OFFLINE.
It has done this in the past and I have been able to correct it by deleting and reinstalling it (at least back when I was running Windows XP and 7.  Possibly at that time it was the DHCP issue pointed out in a previous post.
Now however, I can remove it and when I add it back, using Control Panel, Devices and Printers, Add a Printer,  it is recognized correctly on the network (shows the IP address I know is in the printer) but when I try to send a test page, I get a pop-up saying it is OFFLINE.  When I status it, it confirms it is offline.
There is no indication at the printers display that it is offline and it shows it is communicating with the network.

I can’t give you more than the info in my question about the model of the printer-HP Officejet Pro L7780 All-in-One printer
I had been using this printer for several years and this has happened a few times in that it required me to delete it and reinstall—that just does not work now. This last time was after I had upgraded to Windows 8.1 however I did that several weeks ago and it has worked okay since then…this is the first time it has stopped working on 8.1 however
    Running Windows 8.1
I tried connecting via wireless and also switched over to wired lan but got same results (Printer Unavailable)
Used DHCP but get the same with static ip address
    Cisco Lynksys E4200 wireless router
Just ultimately get Printer Unavailable when I try to print or status the printer
When I try wireless, I see the wireless icon bright blue like I expect it to

  • Trouble printing to a HP PSC750 All-in-One Printer

I have a HP PSC750 all in one printer and it seems to work only on occasion.
Every so often though when I boot up and try to print something the print queue says the following:
    GenericClass: waiting for device
If I unplug then plug the USB cable, wait for the printer to show that it is offline and then plug the USB cable back in, it prints the document. After that it seems to print fine but then the scanner does not work any more.
What happens when I try to scan after printing is this: It pulls a piece of paper in half way and then says that "The scanner is busy, or you do not have a scanner selected. Please select c a scanner in the Director/Imagezone and make sure it is not in use by another program when you try again." and then "Unable to connect to TWAIN data source".
After clearing out the paper, It is still ok printing after this though.
I have 10.5.1 Leopard with the 10.4 HP Image Zone software installed (It is the only version currently available from HP). I am really only using the software to get the scanning capability so if there is other (preferably free) software out there I can use to scan other than HP Image Zone, suggestions would be appreciated as well.)
    Any one with any thoughts?
    Thanks!

I too have an HP PSC750 - originally with an old Dell... had some issues with 10.4 - got it going eventually.
I installed 10.5 last week and have not been able to print at all... got the error message you did "GenericClass: waiting for device" and always deleted the job and would try again. I must have left a print job in the queue... then when I woke the computer from sleep mode about 40 hours later... suddenly the printer jumped into action and printed that job.
As for scanning - I gave up on that awhile ago with 10.4 - good luck to you!

  • IPod Touch conflict with HP 6500 All-in-One printer...

Does anyone know of anyone who has an iPod Touch installed with an HP all-in-one printer and running under Windows 7 64 bit? If so I'd like to hear from them and see if I can pick their brains a bit. In fact, I'd like to hear from anyone who has an iPod Touch working with an HP all-in-one on a desktop system, no matter the OS.
Originally I tried to get them to work together under a 32 bit Windows 7 Premium build on an MSI G31M3-F V2 mobo but couldn't get the iPod and the All-in-One to work together. Either the iPod wouldn't synch or the printer would disconnect.
Yesterday I started with a Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit build on an Asus P5Q-EM mobo with just the HP 6500 All-in-One and the printer and all of its functions were working perfectly.
Then I plugged in the iPod, after having installed the newest 64 bit version of iTunes, and it detected the device but wouldn't complete the driver installation. I powered down the HP 6500 and the iPod installation completed.
I then turned the printer on and it appeared to work but the iPod wouldn't complete the sync process unless I turned the printer off.
Then I changed the drive letter of the HP all-in-one's integrated card reader from "E:" to "G:" and rebooted and it appeared that everything was working. I brought the scanner up but didn't actually scan anything but, still, no disconnect messages. Finally, success I thought. Silly me...
Today my daughter tried to send a fax from the computer. It started the scan, stopped after only partially scanning and said that the printer was disconnected.
She then rebooted and tried to scan a photo and it did essentailly the same thing -- a partial scan, froze, and then reported the printer offline.
Uninstalling the iPod Touch device resulted in the printer coming back online and all functions working perfectly.
There is clearly a conflict at the device/driver assignment level and I don't know if its even anything that I can fix.
This should not be this hard.
Has anyone any experience with the iPod Touch running on a desktop that also has an HP All-in-One device installed?

Finally installed a completely new OS and then, before doing anything else, installed iTunes and connected the iPod. Installed everything else with the HP printer being the very last thing.
    Wa La... Worked as advertised...

  • Deskjet 3520e all in one printer network problems

    Hi All.
I have a brain teaser for the technical types out there hoping someone can shed some light on a weird sort of problem.
History: All has been fine with my g6 Pavillion latop 64bit W8 and 3520e all in one printer and working as always very well.
Oct 16th 2014 My broadband service went down and after many communictions with ISP eventualy received (Nov 4th) and installed a new "super hub modem".
OK so far, Managed to connect laptop via wireless router and connect to internet etc., however . . . I cannot get my printer to network as before, I can use it via USB port but if I try to network it, The Cyan ink cartridge reports as being broken or damaged even though 3/4 full and will not allow printing, but when connect via USB port the Cyan ink cartridge registers normal and will print as expected.
Has anyone else come across this problem?
If I go down the route of uninstalling and reinstallin the Printer software is there a set order in which to do so?
In the list of programs these four are shown. .

    HP Deskjet 3520 series Help
HP Deskjet 3520 series Product Improvement Study
HP Deskjet 3520 series Setup Guide.
I would like very much to get back to network printing if at all possible.
The router IP address is 192.168.1.3
The printer IP address is 192.168.0.1
I have been led to believe that as the addresses are so close this shouldnt be the cause.
I must add that in the past I have had occasional printer software problems which I was unable to resolve without help from the technical centre and I would prefer not to restart the installation if at all possible.
    Your comments would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @Un1corn
What exactly happens when you try to convert from USB to Wireless and configure the printer to the Virgin Media Super Hub? Do you get an error message of some sort?
Maybe there is a firewall on the Super Hub. Do you have the model number for this device? I can look up some information to see what could be casing the issue.
In the meantime, running the Print and Scan Doctor might help. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
    Connectivity:
USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
Device Status Test: Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
Driver Check: Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
Device Manager: Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
Device Online: Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
Print Queue: Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
Port Match: Checks the port settings for the HP product.
Device Conflicts: Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
Ink Issues: Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
Print Settings: Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
Test Print: Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
Scan Tests: Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

If that does not resolve the issue, post back and let me know if there are any symbols other than green check marks and what they are next to of course. The wrench is not always easy to spot as the wrench and the check mart are in the green circle.
If you see only green check marks (), the tool did not find any problems.
If you see green wrenches (), the utility identified an issue and corrected it automatically.
If you see yellow exclamation points (), the test failed and required user action, but the step was skipped.
If you see a red X (), follow the on-screen instructions to resolve the issue.

  • Problem staying connected to my Wireless Network with my HPPhotosmart e-All-in-One Printer - D110a

I just bought a new HP wireless printer replacing my old HP wireless printer which the wireless part worked fine, but the printing died.
New printer HPPhotosmart e-All-in-One Printer - D110a. I have installed and re-installed the software and drivers but can't get my printer to stay connected to my laptop. I have a Linksys "WRT54GL router but have the printer set with a static IP address. When I run tests on the computer and printer everything says it is fine. But every 30 seconds or so.. my printer goes offline on my computer and is especially noticeable when I am using the HP Solution center because it will keep blinking in the windows bar. I have talked to 4 technicians but no one can figure out what the problem is. They keep saying that it is on my end, but the old printer which was also an HP (Wireless 6150) never had any problems and I have not changed anything in my routing. Is anyone else having this kind of problem and has found a successful solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My computer is running Windows XP SP3
Currently my router has WEP encryption, but I tried them all just to see if that had anything to do with it. (WEP works best for me since I have some devices which can only use WEP to communicate).
    Thanks.

Let's set a static IP address for the printer:
    - Print a Network Config Page from the front of the printer. Note the printer's IP address.
    - Type that IP address into a browser to reveal the printer's internal settings.
    - Choose the Networking tab, then Wireless along the left side, then the IPv4 tab.
    - On this screen you want to set a Manual IP. You need to set an IP address outside the range that the router automatically sets (called the DHCP range). Yours is 192.18.1.100 to .149.  Let's use 192.168.1.200 for your printer.
    - Use 255.255.255.0 for the subnet (unless you know it is different, if so, use that)
    - Enter your router's IP (on the Network Config Page) for the gateway and first DNS. Leave the second one blank.
    - Click 'Apply'.
Now, shut down the router and printer, start the router, wait, then start the printer.
After this you may need to redo 'Add a Printer' using the new IP address.

  • I have a hp7250 all in one printer and it just stopped printing hp printer says radio not working

i have a hp 7250 all in one printer it just stopped printing my compute says its offline but when i go to pinter and try set up it says cannoct connect then review says raido not working

If that reset did not resolve the issue, and the printout indicates that the wireless radio is not working then there are a few options that we can go through.
First, make sure that through the Setup Menu that the wireless has been enabled and turned on. If these options are not available, you may have to try a differnet reset that I will PM to you.
Also, if the wireless radio is not functional then you might consider connecting the printer directly to the router using an Ethernet cord and reinstalling the printer on your computer using that method of communication.
    Let me know! Happy holiday!

  • All in One Printer no longer scanning (C5280)

I have an oldish printer/scanner that was working fine until I downloaded the update that came from HP on Aug. 13th. Since then, I cannot scan. I got an error message that the machine was disconnected from the computer which made no sense since I can print from the computer just fine. I did all the things the error message suggested: rebooting, disconnecting the cable, redownloading the driver. The machine worked for about 5 pages of the scan after the redownload, then conked out again.
I saw some directions about going into the registry editor window but they were for Windows 7 and below. I have Windows 8. I did not see a folder for Digital Imaging in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/H-P
If there are updated directions for Windows 8, pleae let me know.
I have an All in One Printer (C5280)

Hello @Toonces , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing scan issues.  I would like to try and help.
I would suggest Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once it is uninstalled, I would suggest putting your system into clean boot mode within the Microsoft configuration.  You can do so by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest reinstalling the HP Photosmart C5200 All-in-One Printer series Full Feature Software and Driver.

  • Hp officejet pro 8500 premier all-in-one printer

The above printer is 1 1/2 years old and it has stopped printing.  When the printing became light, I installed new print cartridges less than a week ago.  Now, after five days, the printer is consistently cleaning the print heads and aligning the print heads and my documents are not being printed.  And, what is most frustrating, during all the cleaning and aligning, all of my new ink is gone and I'm receiving a message replace ink cartridges.
Re: Problem with HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer: cleans printheads every time it's turned on
    Options
    08-24-2011 06:34 PM
    Well,
to this is say, "get used to it", or throw it away.  Many, Many, Many people have had trouble with this printer.
The following are common and frustrating issues that this printer exhibits on a regular basis:
    1.  Constant Self-Checking (usually every 20-30 pages of print)
    2. Very persistant Printhead Cleaning/Checking, (Every startup and after about 20-30 pages printed).
    3. Worn-out printheads (usually within 1,100 to 1,500 pages printed).
    4. Paper mis-feeds.
    5. Paper jams.
    6. Nearly impossible to use once the printer reports ink-depletion.
    7. Nearly impossible to use CIS Ink for larger print jobs.
    8. Ink and printheads "expire" regardless of when they are placed into service. (get a deal on ink or printheads last year?  Too bad, the warranty is already expired, most likely).
In short, this printer is the most EXPENSIVE printer I've ever owned, and the most frustrating to use.
I have just over 2,000 pages of regular text printed matter with very little color, and have already gone through 4 sets of ink, and 2 sets of PrintHeads.
Although it's true that you can leave the unit on, and let it go into standby, you should NOT be punished with constant and time-consuming "self-checking" everytime it's turned on, or prints a handful of pages, BUT, it does NOT appear that HP will be standing behind this printer disaster.  AND, to make things worse, they've gone on to redesign it, giving it a different look, and so there are about 6 different models/versions of the OfficeJet Pro 8500.
Anyone needing a reliable print/fax/scan/copy solution should look beyond this printer, because it will leave you wanting more, and spending more than you ever imagined you would have to on a late model printer.ro
What is going on?  Why does it just automatically clean and align?  I also get alignment failed messages.  Any suggestiions?

    rammerjammer,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention, your feedback is very important and I want to do my best to help.  To answer what is going on, since the printing became light, started cleaning itself constantly, and fails the alignment, the printhead was damaged.  Click here to see and use the Limited Warranty for HP Ink Cartridges, Printheads, and Related Supplies.  There are many ways to contact HP.  The number to call is 1-800-474-6836 for HP and Compaq products for Home & Home Office use.  If you no longer have a warranty with the printer you can still use the warranty that comes with the printhead or ink cartridges.
If you have a carepack with the printer that extended the one year warranty then the troubleshooting will be covered along with the printer if the printer needs replacing.  Check product warranty here, see HP Out of Warranty Support Options for Select HP Consumer Printers here.
To order a new printhead you can go to HP Sure Supply and enter your printer or go to the HP Parts Store and order the printhead by part number C4900A for the Black and yellow and part number C4901A for the Cyan Magenta.  These printheads go by region also so be sure you are using the right region, these were found using the United States region.
The HP Officejet Pro 8500 Premier All-in-One printer has separated the ink cartridges from the printheads.  The ink cartridges are on the lower left and the removable print heads are on the carriage inside the printer.  The printer goes through a calibration process when turned on that will use ink.  Leave the printer on and let it go into stand by mode.  This type of printer is energy star efficient and made to calibrate on start up and be left on.  Allow the printer to clean or calibrate only if the printer must.  If it starts cleaning a lot it may be time to do a little maintenance to the printer (recommend once a month for maintenance).  Please see the following links for further details.

The printer has a duty cycle of 7.5k page/month.  The XL cartridges have a composite page yield of 1.4k pages with about a third of the black ink left over.  To me it would seem that the printhead should last somewhere in between.  This printer was designed to save money on ink compared to the rest of the officejets.  I hate that it has been causing so much trouble, hopefully the information I provided will help.

Hello:  I have the "HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer model N911g" and read in the manual that it comes with Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software.  I can't find any OCR software on the accompanying optial disk "HP Officejet pro 8600 series, Windows XP, VIsta, 7, 8 version 28.8".
I'm using an HP Pavilion dv7 laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium ver 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 build 7601.
I found an entry in All Programs called I.R.I.S. registration but can't figure out what to do with it.  Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    John
