Hp 700-214 Can't update video driver

I have an HP 700-214 with a Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600 card. I can't update the video driver through Intel (It tell me there's a custom driver installed by the manufacturer) and when I try to update it through HP, it gives me an error 9996 "Your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements."
I'd rather uninstall HP's factory driver and get one that is going to be updated regularly but how do I do that? And if that's no pheasible, how do I update the darn thing?
It's refusing to run some pretty rudimentary programs and the ones that it does run are choppy.

I have read your post on how you are looking to update the graphics drivers on your notebook computer, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
You can automatically update any out-of-date drivers by following this document on Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7) or for (Windows 8).
To find out if there is a hardware incompatibility with the game you are playing and your computer, also suggest running this diagnostic tool: Can You RUN It?
If your system is still performing in a slow manner, I recommend following this document on Improving System Performance without Adding Memory (Windows 7) as well as (Windows 8). This should help improve the speed and efficiency of your system.

Can you update Video Drivers from Nvidia?

Hello,
I have an iMac 27-inch, late 2012 model with a built in Nvidia GTX - 660M 512 MB video card. Is it possible to use the Nvidia driver update for this build in card or should I only use Apple's video driver update? I'm sure there have been updates from Nvidia, but I haven't had a Apple update for at lease six months. I'm not having any problems, but like to keep current on drivers.

In OS X, Apple provides GPU driver updates with every OS X update, so you don't have to worry about the driver. If you have Windows installed with Boot Camp, then you can install the most recent NVIDIA driver from the NVIDIA site > http://www.nvidia.com
Note that GPU drivers don't come as individual drivers, but they come with OS X updates. For example, updates like 10.8.5 or Mavericks may come with updated drivers

Anyone else getting a notice from FF to update video driver?

I've gotten, a couple of times, what appears to be a notice from Firefox to upgrade my video driver by downloading and running a file. I don't like to download anything unless I can guarantee where it came from. Is this really from Firefox?

If you get a pop-up message asking to update Firefox or plugins then such a message is likely a scam and you should never respond to such an alert to avoid getting infected with malware.
*Only update Firefox via "Help > About" or by downloading and installing Firefox from the Mozilla server and never via a pop-up or link on a web page.
*Plugins should only be updated via the plugin itself or by visiting the home page of the plugin.

Qosmio X300-14N - BSOD if I play games and can't update display driver

Hi every one,
I bought a Qosmio X300-14N last week in France.
But every time I try to play a game ---almost every game--- I got a nmlddmkm problem with a "video driver has stopped responding and has been recovered" message
I try to update my display driver, but any one I found on the Nv site cannot be installed. Even the link from the Toshiba support.
Then I thought this could be a temperature problem, I download a Nvidia system monitor and try to check the problem, but this made it even worse, every time I double clicked the monitor short cut leads me to a Blue Screen...
I am now completely mad with this computer. Hoping some one can help?

If you haven't done so search Google, Yahoo, etc- the exact error message your seeing. This problem isn't unique to Toshiba, but more so seems to be an issue directly with Nvidia. I have tried all the canned responses, download this, update that and patch everything I could find. Still, the issue still exisits. After about 9mths of off and on problems, at the advice of Toshiba I dropped it off at the local certified repair center. They worked on the thing for 3-4wks and were unable to repair. They went as far as to replace the video card, and mainboard.
After receiveing my un-fixed Qosmio from the repair center I called Toshiba- they informed me that I would have to send it directly to them as to be evaluated by one of there engineers. Basically the answer at this point is don't waste your time on it- ship it directly to them.

Is it possible to update my video drives from the nvidia website-are there any dangers or problems with doing so?

You can upgrade the Windows drivers but not the OS X drivers. Do not update the GPU's firmware except with an updater from Apple. Same for the OS X video drivers.

Who can write Solaris video driver for Intel 810?

We have a customer who wants to use a Flex/ATX mother board with the Solaris OS. The Flex/ATX mother boards us the Intel 810/810E chip set and we have not been able to find a Solaris video driver for that chip set. Does anyone know if such a driver exists or could anyone suggest a company/individual who I could contact to write such a driver for us?

Can't update display driver on my Satellite Pro C660

Hi, I've got a Satellite Pro C660-2DN, and I'm trying to update my display driver through the Toshiba UK website as Intel refers me to Toshiba when I do their driver assessment thing.
I've downloaded the three latest display driver updates that I can find in the list that corresponds to the C660 but none of them will install - the temp files are extracted, but then nothing happens. Could anyone help me?

You can also use the driver from Intel page.
Download the Intel driver, then extract the package to a folder created on the desktop.
Then go to device manager, choose graphic card and click on update.
Now you should use the advanced installation procedure which would allow you to pick up the driver from the folder created on the desktop.
The Windows should pick up the new driver and the update should go on.

Can't update nvidia driver on Satellite P25-S507

I've followed the instructions:
1. uninstalled the original nvidia driver
2. installed the updated driver downloaded from nvidia www page.
3. There was NO RESULT. The new driver was not installed, so I had to reinstall the old driver
4. As a result I can't use OpenGL 1.5 and my generated renderings are of poor quality.
So: Why can't I update the nvidia driver?

I've solved the problem after having consulted the US laptop forum. I've downloaded the ForceWare 56.63 and updated the driver. It works great.

Can't get video driver out of fallback mode.

Hi,
I'm running Arch under VMWare Workstation and all seems to be going well except the video driver. Its stuck in fallback mode.
I've looked all over the forum and wiki trying to find an answer, but its not clear exactly what I have to do to fix the issue.
I've tried a couple of things so far.
- removing every video driver other than the VMWare one
- specifiying to load vmware in rc.conf as a startup daemon
- reinstalling the video driver
I think I would need to rebuild the package/kernel, but I am totally confused by how the wiki says to do that.
I have no idea what commands I need to execute to pull logs from my system. Just tell me what they are and I'll post them.

Yeah, I have seen the VMware page. Everything is working in Arch, but Gnome 3 is reporting that the graphics experience is "Fallback", where as in my ubuntu install it reports "Standard". For this reason, that page is irrelevant.
I'd still like to know how to resolve the issue, for future reference. I've given up with trying to get it working in WMware and now I'm trying a dual boot of Windows 7 and Arch. I just figured that if its not going to work in a virtual machine then it has to work if Arch is running natively. I'm not interested in VirtualBox as it has no hardware acceleration support at this present time. Plus I just know VMware Workstation better.

Cannot update Video Driver on Satellite L675

Hi all!
I have problem i bought 675 like 7 months ago for 1099. Since it was the top "gaming" laptop and as time pass i updated my Bios. Since then everything going wrong and i updated my Bios like half year ago after 1 month when i bought laptop.
Like i sayed, as the time passed i start geting like lag spikes if i watch videos, playing games, lisening music.
It put like frezze noise, like pc frezes for 2sec and squiks realy anoying.
Don't know how to fix.
I guess its problem of procesor i5 or cuz bios.
Then when i tryed to updated my Display driver there is no freaking way to updated its just mission impossible.
Toshiba didn't care a bit to make updated drivers for costumers even if i tryed to download it from AMD official site.
It says cannot updated driver since its not suported and it says that i go to toshiba website for new drivers and there are no new drivers for my pc.
So i stucked and new games need new drivers like few games dont wana start cuz i dont have updated my drivers.
Its ridicules.
I hope that u will be able to help me up with my drivers to update. If not... oh well altest i know why not to buy another toshiba laptop if they dont care about costumers.

Can't upgrade Video Driver, Windows XP, MacBook Pro 17" '09

After I downloaded newer video drivers from NVIDIA's site, the installation stops in the beginning saying "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware."
It's the right hardware (GeForce 9600M GT) and driver (266.58). I've tried multiple driver versions (There have been many since the year+ old driver installed with bootcamp) and all have the same issue.
I've read that some laptop manufactures actually prevent users from updating their video drivers, and have tried work arounds such as those made by Mobility Modder.
What's the deal?

It was a hassle, but I updated the old version 177.56 driver with the current 307.83.
I still blame Apple for either poor support or blocking upgrades.

Dell Studio 17 Graphic Card is not performing well, Can I update the driver

I just purchased Dell Studio s17-169B. The graphic card in this laptop is Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD. However, when I check graphic driver through device manager, I have found that driver is for Mobile Intel 4 series express chipset family with version 7.15.10.1576. My question is: can I download Dell Studio 1737 Intel Mobile Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD Driver A03 to update my current gtaphic driver so that the graphic display can be improved? Otherwise, I may return this laptop back to Bestbuy. Thanks for your input.

Define "not performing well"...
If you're playing 3D games, you will find that the 4500MHD is going to be lacking in general regardless of the driver installed. Any Intel GMA series integrated graphics solution is going to be at the bottom of the barrel in terms of 3D performance. In most cases, the only thing worse than a GMA series accelerator is an older GMA series accelerator.

Can NOT update video automatically with selected playlists!

I just bought my iPod today and when I try to put some video on it, the movie does not appear anywhere.
when I click on the Video button, the "automatically with selected playlist" option is hidden and I cant click on it, and no video title can be observed.
Do you have to put video in to certain folder to add them?
And how come the Automatlcally with selected playlist is hidden?

I'm pasting this from the Videora site, the settings worked for me when others didn't, enjoy:
Configuring videora converter
0) Start Videora iPod converter.
1) Click setup in the left nav.
1.5) Click the profiles tab.
2) Click new profile.
3) Now, configure that profile:
profile name: ipod
in the video settings section...
mode: MPEG-4 > CBR
resolution: 320x240
passes: one
bitrate: 768 kbps (384 kbps also works)
framerate: 29.97 fps
in the audio settings section...
bitrate: 128 kbps
sample rate: Input
channels: stereo
4) Click apply to save the profile.
Now, you're ready to transcode.
1) Click convert on the left nav.
2) Click the transcode new video button.
3) Pick your source video. Mine was an AVI from a torrent.
4) Under quality profile, choose "ipod", the profile you created using the steps above.
5) Click start.
Now you're ready to get the video on your ipod
1) In iTunes, under the File menu, select add file to library. Find the transcoded one. By default, the transcoded videos pop out under the Videora install directory.
2) Drag and drop to your ipod.
Questions/observations:
1) I haven't been able to get H264 anything to work. Is it broken? How much smaller than MPEG4 is it?
2) 768 kbps video was about 400 megs/hour; 384 kbps video was about 231 megs/hour. I could readily see a difference in video quality.
