HP 7260: Photo tray = color issues (pink photos)

Hi,
I have a 7260 and it's working fine, as long as you don't use the photo tray.
Today I tried to print a couple of photos on advanced hp photo paper.
No problems at all, except that the picture is completely... pink.
So I tried to mangle with the color settings (in windows) and eventually ended up with 6 pink pictures.
Since I thought this was a settings error, I tried printing straight from the SD memory card.
I figured that if there was no computer involved, there wouldn't be any setting issues either.
And thus I ended up with 7 pink pictures.
I finally decided this would probably be an ink issue, but to make sure I tried to print the same photo on a regular A4 sheet.
And... no color issues there! Printing on regular A4 sheets works just fine!
Any idea how I could make the printer print the right colors on the right paper?

I suggest opening the Print & Scan System Preferences, then highlight your HP Photosmart printer in the printers list and delete it by pressing the minus sign. Now, re-add the printer by clicking on the plus sign and select the printer. Make sure that the 'Print Using:' pull down aut selects the correct driver for your printer. If it doesn't, pull down the list and manually select the correct driver using the 'Select Printer Software' option. Hopefully that will resolve your issue.

  • Color issue exporting Photo JPEG

    Hello everyone,
I'm new to these forums, and somewhat new to using Adobe. I have used Adobe CS5 in the past and would like to start using Creative Cloud. Premiere Pro and After Effects in particular.
One of the things I need to do is create stock footage, particularly exporting in the Quicktime Photo JPEG codec. This has always gone without any hassle in CS5, but I ran into a color issue with the Creative Cloud version. After preparing a clip and exporting it, the colors differ substantially, the greens and blues in particular. I import these files to compare them inside Premiere, and the difference is very noticeable.
Here are two screenshots of the exported file and the original one, respectively.
I have spent a day trying to figure out what is going on, and can't find any real leads. I found some suggestions about the way Apple has coded their gamma color into Quicktime that wouldn't correspond with CC. However, this may be totally unrelated. I'm not a color expert, so I hope some of you can help me out.
    Best regards,
    Stef

I've just discovered this problem as well (thanks to your post elsewhere).
It's definitely a CC issue, and it's troublesome. It looks to me even more obvious than the sample you gave above. There seems to be a luminance increase in at least the green channel, and perhaps red or blue as well.

  • HP 6510 & Windows 8.1 - how to print from photo tray?

    Hello
After update to Windows 8.1 [Dreamspark] I loose some print options.
Now i can't change paper size when i choose photo tray in drivers.
Photo tray works, the printer normally prints the images such as the ePrint or from the panel on the printer, but not from Windows 8.1.
    This is how it look:

You don't help, beacouse its Windows 8.1 (RTM) version from school.
I have Dreamspark licence for Windows 8.1 - like developers.
So, HP don't support for windows 8.1? Hah, nice...

  • HP Photosmart 3210 installed on my iMac But is showing as  but is showing as HP Color Laserjet 2800 series PS which means I no longer have access to all the paper options especially the photo tray

I have recently purchased an iMac running Lion. The HP Photosmart 3210 printer was connected through the network and I was happy that it recognised the printer - good old Mac's!!
However, when I tried to print some of my photos from the photo tray, the option was not available and when I looked at the printer properties, it was showing as a HP Color LaserJet 2800 Series PS which does not have all the paper options I had before. Reinstalling the software from HP did not make any difference - do I now have to buy a new printer as well???

I suggest opening the Print & Scan System Preferences, then highlight your HP Photosmart printer in the printers list and delete it by pressing the minus sign. Now, re-add the printer by clicking on the plus sign and select the printer. Make sure that the 'Print Using:' pull down aut selects the correct driver for your printer. If it doesn't, pull down the list and manually select the correct driver using the 'Select Printer Software' option. Hopefully that will resolve your issue.

  • Settings to Prevent Pink Photos?

    I'm frustrated.
I have an HP C7280 all-in-one and I cannot solve the pink photo issue. I have searched the forum and the overwhelming "solution" is the ink cartridges are low or old. This is not the case for me. We tend to replace the cartridges fairly regularly and I do not consider cartridges purchased in the last 60 days as old. Also, the ink levels are consistently sufficient. Above half full, I consider sufficient.
I have tried all of the different photo paper settings in Advanced Settings. I have changed the print quality from Fast to Maximum DPI. I have turned the RLT photo settings on and off. I have tried to print directly from the SD card.
I recently installed Windows 7 (64 bit) and have updated all my HP software and drivers.
Printing on plain paper works fine. One solution suggested it is a low yellow cartridge and mine is full.
I've printed a test page from Windows and the colors seem correct.
I've used the "clean ink heads" setting on the printer and still no luck.
I have run out of solutions. What have I missed? I'm wasting ink and paper trying to figure this out.
    Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi,
The only thing I can think of is... what type of paper are you printing on?  You mentioned that it prints fine on plain paper, so this leads me to belive that it is paper related.
Are you using HP Photo paper? HP Advanced Photo paper or HP Everyday Photo paper?
And you are using genuine HP 02 cartridges and not refilled cartridges, correct?

  • Colored bands on photos in aperture canon 40d

Does anyone else get bands and squares of pink to magenta color on some of their photos in aperture? It only involves portions of the photos and does not affect them all.
I use a canon 40d and shoot RAW.
I know that other color issues have been seen with other cameras and that this resolves when you roll back to the RAW update 2.1 but surely someone in Apple knows about this?
Interestingly I have not experienced this yet on my Macbook Pro with the 2.4 update but it comes back each time in my imac.

I am still having this same problem
I have tried deleting both the preferences and presets. I have reinstalled Aperture and tried switching off automatic previews with no improvement. I have changed color sync profiles.
I have noticed that the same thing happens in iphoto 9.
I managed to speak to someone at Apple who was quite short with me and implied there was nothing much wrong. He told me to rebuild the database, then perform a consistency check and then hung up. I did both these things and still have the problem.
I have invested a lot of time in Aperture as well as money on plugins and don't want to change but I may have to turn to Adobe if this can't be fixed

  • Can't print from photo tray and can't set my usual margins

I have a Photosmar tD7560 printer.  My computer is an HP Pavillion e9120y PC, recently upgraded from Vista Home Premium 64 bit to Windows 7 home premium 64 bit (clean install). The printer was not compatible with Windows 7 but the issue was resolved here when I was advised by a member to download a fix.  (Thanks again!)
I have printed with no problem until today when I tried to print out a 4x6 index card from the photo tray.  I set the paper size to 4x6 but when I tried to print it, i got an out of paper message. I put paper in the main tray and it printed from there.
Also, suddenly I cannot reset my bottom margin to .5 inches, it must be.59 or greater.  This happened after I tried to print from the photo tray because before, I was able to set a .5 inch margin.  (This is in Word 2003)
I hope someone can help with this!

    Hello AnnArritola,
Welcome to the HP Forums! The HP Officejet 5745 printer defaults to the main paper try. Printing using the printer’s dedicated photo tray can be accomplished by accessing the print driver and selecting the photo tray before printing. Below is a support document that should help with the necessary steps.

p.s. A quicker method once you’re in the printer driver is to go to the shortcuts tab and select photo printing (this will automatically select the dedicated photo tray).

  • HP 5180 printer wont print to photo tray - tiger software

For some reason the printer will not recognize that I am trying to print a photo (even when photo paper is selected in print menu in iphoto)
i uninstalled the software that came with the printer and reinstalled the software upgrade for tiger from the HP website but still no joy.
What could I be missing ? Is there a way of determining if I uninstalled all of the old software- could that be the issue ? , is there some other manual fix out there ?

This does actually get a little easier with iPhoto '08 and Leopard (but even there it's by no means easy). What you need to do in Tiger with iPhoto 6 is click the advanced button, then select the Paper Type/Quality item from the pop-up menu in the print dialog, then from Paper Source select Photo Tray. (Sorry, I don't have this setup anymore, so the wording may not be exact.)
    Just trying to help.

  • HP Photosmart Plus B209 - will not print photos - tray is not picking up the paper

The printer will not grab the photo paper when I attempt to print a picture.  It works just fine when printing other things, such as text from WORD or something from the internet.  Photo paper says "single sheet feed" on it, so I place one sheet in the tray.
Any ideas?  Am I doing something incorrectly?  Thanks

    Hi hgr7,
I understand that you are having an issue with the photo tray picking up the paper. I will try my best to help you with this problem. In this document for The All-in-One Does Not Pick Up or Feed Paper From the Photo Tray there are several steps to resolve this issue.
I hope this helps, let me know.

  • PAPER TRAY SUCKS. CANNOT PRINT OUT PHOTOS, TRAY ONLY ACCEPTS PAPER FROM BOTTOM TRAY. GRRRR.

My BRAND NEW (One week from delivery) no longer prints out photos.  It printed out photos several times but 3 days' ago it stopped.
The paper tray is malfunctioning.  Each time I try to print out a photo (remember, it's been done several times until a few days' ago) THE TRAY WILL NOT ACCEPT PAPER FROM THE TOP TRAY!!
SELECTED PHOTOS PRINT OUT ON PAPER FROM BOTTOM TRAY ONLY!!   MY INK AND PAPER IS BEING WASTED AND SEVERAL OTHER POSTERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE HP 6520!
Is one of those infamous 2-hr. long marathon phone calls to Tech Support in India the ONLY way one can sensibly have an HP issue resolved?
    This is ridiculous!

    Hi,
Sorry to hear you are having problems printing. What device are you using to print?

  • The new operating system changed the background color of the photos app from black to white.  How do I change the color back to black?

The new operating system (IOS 7) changed the background color of the Photos App (Camera Roll) from black to white.  How do I change the color back to black?

    You can't. Sorry.

You can tell apple that you'd like it and see if they respond....eventually. (you don't get responses from your feedback mails but they have been known to issue changes that users have asked for, such as the ability to mass delete apps)

  • How do I select main input tray to print photo over ePrint and not photo tray?

when I send a picture from my Iphone the printer always wants to take paper from the photo tray ,despite that it's set up to take paper from the main tray.

    Hey AndreBielser!
Unfortunately there isn't a way to select the paper tray through ePrint at this time. Photos will always try to print to the photo tray. The only way I have seen that you can get around this is by including the photo in the body of the message instead of as an attachment. I will definitely pass on the information that this is something you are looking for as a feature of ePrint though!
    Hope this helps!

  • Why wont my HP All In One C5280 printer print from photo tray after upgrade- vista to windows 7?

I recently downloaded an upgrade for windows home premium. Used to have Vista. Now my HP C5280 All In One printer will not print from the photo tray when settings are correctly set. This is after I ran HP Update. What do I do next.

I would try running the HP Print Diagnostic Utility. Go to http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-91788-1&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&...= and see what part fails.

  • The image color in Windows Photo Gallery is wrong, same image in other program color is correct.

This is the correct color form Google Image:
This is the color from Windows Photo Gallery:
It looks like it is a issue of Windows Photo Gallery bcause if the same image is opened in another program(Photoshop, paint, etc), the color stays same, the thumbnail color is correct as well. However, it is different in Windows Photo Gallery.
Does anyone know what the problem is?
    Thanks.

Windows photo gallery is not colour profile aware, so assumes your monitor is sRGB.  The same is true of the desktop wallpaper.  There is nothing you can do about this, other than use a different default picture viewing application as default, or convert your images to the ICC profile of your monitor (which you can do in photoshop).  I would only recommend this for wallpapers though.

  • Help - photos are not printing from photo tray uToshiba Laptop

    Hello,
I just got a new toshiba satellite laptop and when I try to print photos using the glossy photo paper in the photo tray, it keeps pulling from the regular paper tray. I have tried selecting all kinds of the HP paper, but it still prints out on regular paper.  I also have a desktop and I have the exact same settings as that and the desktop pulls from the photo tray but the laptop doesn't. Can anyone help?
    Thanks so much,
    Shelly

If you are unable to print photos, the first thing that comes to mind is that you have the wrong tray selected.  I would start with Solution 4 of this document for a walk-through on how to setup the photo tray.   I know you are not experiencing an out of paper error message but it covers all of the steps you would take to print to the photo tray.  This printer has ePrint.  Have you set that up yet?  I am curious because I want you to try to email the printer an attachment of your photo because ePrint photos default to 4x6 and go straight to the paper tray.  This test will narrow down to if this is a printer problem or a setting in your computer.  Read through that link and let me know if it helps or not.  If not, how is the printer connected to the computer and what kind of computer are you using?
Don't forgot to say thanks by giving "Kudos" if I helped solve your problem.
