Hp 7350 not communicating with I-MAC
First plug and play worked until the power was interupted (ice storm). System restart printer delayed printing 5 minutes, 20 minutes, etc. Power interupted again. Printer does not respond at all. Tried:
Unistall re-install from CD.
Gimp-print, gutenprint, 5.0.1,5.0.2.beta1-UB.dmg. download and installs.
usbtb-1.0.10.src.tar.bz2.tar source codes etc.
Ubdmg, tar, src, Hp installers, wizards, I've read and read, tried and tried. It should not be this difficult!
Changed usb cables, unpluged power sources.
The only response is the I-MAC detects when the printer is plugged in or not.
Print Test Page does not respond.
Fresh ideas welcomed.
I deleted ALL i downloaded and went back to the least common denominator. Plug and unplug. Restarted 3 times. Third time plugged it all back together and plug and play worked. Must be the new year!

My MacBook is not connecting to the host computer for the printer. The host computer has a static IP address which is different from the IP address that the laptop is looking for. How do I change the laptop so that it looks for the host computer's correct IP? The laptop is connected to the router. I know this because I can get on the internet with the laptop.
The host computer is Dell and the operating system is Windows 7. The printer is an Epson, and it is wired to the host computer with a USB cable. It does have host printing turned on.
The three have been working harmoniously for a long time. The router had to be reset; and after that, the MacBook documents would no longer print.
We created a new static IP address on the Dell but the MacBook is not recognizing it. We have researched the internet trying to figure out how to make the MacBook locate and recognize the correct IP address from the Dell so they can communicate with each other. The laptop is not communicating with the host computer because is is looking for the wrong IP. The host IP is 192.168.1.245 and the laptop is looking for 192.168.15.237.
I hope everything is clear. The person who originally set it up is no longer available to help me. Thank you for any help you may give me. -
Piano keyboard not communicating with Mac
I have installed the driver for my Yamaha keyboard, but it's not connecting with the Mac. Is there a step I'm missing?

RedhouseartsThe Yamaha support site shows drivers from OS 8 (1997) which makes this a very old machine indeed. The site shows it to be discontinued, as you say. The keyboards of that vintage used a cable MIDI to USB which is now difficult to find widely available since most recent controllers are USB interface. It seems that you will have to consider a more up-to-date controller for use with your Mac. I have used M-Audio controllers with a great deal of reliability in conjunction with my Macs causing no trouble for driver and recognition: simply plug and play with both GarageBand and Logic as well as Finale (for Speedy Entry using MIDI input). I find the M-Audio reasonably priced and effective for my studio work at my DAW. My current controller is M-Audio Oxygen 49; no concerns on iMac and MacBook Pro (10.6.8)in addition to MacBook Pro (10.7.2). Good luck in your search.

First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings. -
my iWork (pages and keynote) are not communicating with the iCloud. I haven't changed anything and all of the sudden there is no sync happening. My iCloud account is fine as i can create documents on my iPad and they appear on iCloud. However, when i change documents on my mac (documents that are supposed to be in the iCloud), the changes do not sync with my other devices nor with iCloud. Even when i create new documents on my mac and save them to iCloud, all seems okay and i can access them from my mac, however they do not show up in the iCloud and i can't access them with my other devices.
Most recent version of mountain lion updated over a month ago. New iPad in use for over a month.

I had this.
On checking the iPhone the iPhone Number was not ticked and the whole option to change it was greyed out.
I removed the Apple ID and waited to see if th Number got ticked (Settings > Messages > Send and Receive).
It did not.
I put the iPhone in Airplane Mode
After a few minutes I "restarted" the iPhone by turning off Airplane Mode
This time the Number was ticked.
I Added the Apple ID and then restarted Messages on the Mac.
I soon got the pop message about the iPhone using it's Number and the Apple ID and Accepted.

i have a mac osx version 10.6.8 no windows installed and i am trying to install a program but keep getting can not run in dos mode ( the disk says on back works on intel mac with parallels or vm fusion) is this program not compatible with my mac?
You run Windows in Parallels or Fusion. Then in Windows you install the program.

My mac has OSX version 10.8.2 and I'm try to install an aiport express base station which requires 10.5.7 or later. Yet when I try to install the software it says the base station is not compatible with my mac version - how do I resolve?
You already have the software installed that you need if you have 10.8.2.
If AirPort Utility cannot find the Express, that is another matter. More software is not needed. More troublehooting is needed.
Power up the Express for a full minute
Hold in the reset button on the Express for 7-8 seconds and release
Allow a full minute for the Express to restart
Click the AirPort icon at the top of the Mac's screen
Look for a heading of New AirPort Base Station
Just below that, click on AirPort Express

If you can't sign in, then you can't troubleshoot and/or pair the keyboard until after that........ so, for that, you will need to borrow someone's USB wired keyboard in order to get signed in and to the Keyboard Bluetooth Preferences.

i've just bought a new macbook pro retina. i am using a usb not assocciated with this mac. when i try to download movies onto the usb it keeps coming back saying its full when i know there is plenty of space left. what can i do to correct this problem? do i need to buy a new usb? thanks

then open disk utility and reformat it
as mac journaled if you only want to use it for a mac
if you want to use it for both mac and PCs, select the partition tab, choose 1, format exfat and MBR under options

It is now confirmed that iDVD and iWeb have been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
In addition the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on.
HOWEVER, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those copies still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD.
You can purchase the iLife 11 boxed disk at the online Apple Store while supplies last or possible at Amazon.com or eBay.com.

I have tried to make my Microsoft Office for MAC's OUTLOOK program work as the default email system. But ATT/Yahoo says its service is not compatible with the MAC version of Microsoft Outlook... Has anyone been able to make it work? I can't change my ISP right now.
