HP 7520 Photo Scanning

Hi,
I recently purchased a HP7520 all in one unit and am trying to scan multiple pictures into one file and am not being prompted to "scan another image".  The only prompts I am getting is to either save or cancel.  Help please.
This question was solved.

Hi,
Scanning multiple images into a single file from the front panel can only be done using the Document Feeder.
To scan multiple pages from the glass you must scan from the HP Software..
Click Start > All Programs > HP > HP Photosmart 7520 folder and click the Photosmart 7520 icon.
Click Scan a Document or Photo.
Select the PDF shortcut.
Make sure the Scan Preview is checked and the resolution is 300 DPI or lower, next click on Scan.
You may scan additional pages by replacing the page and clicking the Plus icon to scan the next page.
Once you are done, click the Save button to complete the scan job.

Shlomi

Photos scanned okay and imported into i-Photo no problem. Placed into album no problem. Created slideshow no problem.....
Came to sync with Apple TV and nothing. Apple TV picks up the album and the slideshow name BUT sees them as empty and consequently will not sync?

Have you tried syncing the iphoto album rather than the slideshow, it maybe your jpegs are incompatible in some way.

    Hi jfk83,
I see you are having some difficulty scanning now since upgrading to Windows 7.
This document explains how to scan in Windows 7. There are multiple ways to scan a photo or document, using either the HP software that comes with your printer, or functionality built into the Windows operating system. • Photos scanned to iPhoto Library can't be found!

I scanned some photos from my new Canon CanoScan 8800F, using both the PhotoStudio and Photoshop Elements 4.0 programs that came with the scanner. I saved them to my iPhoto Library, but when I go to iPhoto they are nowhere to be found, in the Last Import or anywhere else. When I try to import them using File>Import feature, they show up but are grayed out, as they are if I look for them in the Finder. However, I can still open them up in both PhotoStudio and Photoshop. So, I then copied them to my desktop from those programs and tried to drag them into iPhoto - whereupon iPhoto says they are already there! I scanned them as jpegs, and the first 4 or 5 photos I scanned worked just fine. Shut down and reopened iPhoto - no dice. ARGHHHH! Please help! Thanks.

Rule 1 - Never, Never, Never modify the content of the iPhoto library - doing so will not work and may corrupt your library
Since you have places photo in the iPhoto library that it does not know about you must remove them from the iphoto library - backup first and be extremely careful not to make any other changes - and then import them to iPhoto.
iPhoto is a database and for it to know about photos they must be imported into iPhoto - and you can not import photos from within the iPhoto library into the iPhoto library

  • Photo scan to jpeg not in color

When I scan a color photo on my HP 8630 glass to my hp computer as a  jpeg,  the file I get is a black & white jpeg and not a color jpeg like it should be . There seems to be  no way to set to a color jpeg when sending it to my computer. If I use a jump drive I can select a color jpeg but what I get is a pdf, however it is in color.  I know I can work with the pdf in color and change it to a jpeg file.  I was hoping to just go directly to the color jpeg - it seems like it did so in the past, have had this printer for 5 months.

    Hi,

Do you scan from teh HP Scan software on your PC or from the printer control panel?

  • Photo scanning question: automatic cropping is imprecise?

Hi, I am trying to scan a large body of family photos, and have read a bunch of tutorials on many websites. I bought a Canoscan 8800 scanner for the job.
However, when I scan a photo and set the scan size to either a fixed size (3x5), or even "automatic" the scanned image produces unwanted edges that I will have to manually crop later. Is this normal? Isn't the point of choosing a fixed size or automatic, is that you don't have to re-sized it later?
Not sure if I'm doing something wrong, of if the scanning software or hardware is the issue?
Any help would be appreciated. I don't want to have to manually crop each photo.

  • Photo scanning issue

i can not scan photos from my kodak printer from photshop..it is reading an old printer that is no longer installed...kodak states it is with the software from adobe?can someone  please help...thanks

Photoshop has never been able to scan, it is NOT a scanning application.  Kodak is giving you unadulterated B.S.
Scanning inside Photoshop was and remains a most inefficient way to scan.  You should scan outside of Photoshop
When you used the Import menu in Photoshop to scan in the past, all you were doing is tying up Photoshop while it called on the scanner application provided by the scanner manufacturer to scan using the TWAIN plug-in.  Now the TWAIN plug-in has been deprecated by Adobe.
If Kodak will not provide a scanning application and a driver of its own so that you could scan outside of Photoshop, they shouldn't even be selling that contraption as a scanner.
The workaround is to use a utility like VueScan (excellent value) or SilverFast (expensive).  Check to see whether your part-time scanner is supported by either of those.  Then you can even continue working in Photoshop while the scanning is being done in the background.
VueScan even puts a Scan menu item in Photoshop's Import menu.

  • HP 7520 Photosmart scanning error message: Unable to connect to Web Services

After many successful efforts in the past, suddenly I cannot scan to email on my HP Photosmart 7520. I have tried several of the solutions posted to no avail. I keep getting the error message "Unable to connect to Web Services. Confirm Iternet access and try again." I'm on Mac OS X. Very frustrating; I would appreciate help.

    Hello skagitsusan,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I am not 100% as to the steps you have tried in attempt to resolve the Scan to Email issue on the 7520, but I would like to offer the steps I have given in another Thread.
Re: Trouble scanning using Photosmart 6520 <---
The steps will cover your printer, even though they are different Photosmarts.
Let me know if this works.

  • Still Photos Scanned from Slides

I have scanned 100's of slides from my father's slide collection. Now I am trying to put them in an iMovie slide show. When some of the slides where scanned they where backwards so when previewing them I "Flip Horizontal" from the Tools menu and saved the changes. Now when I bring them (the photos) into iMovie '08 the "Flip Horizontal" disappears. The photo appears backwards for my slide show. I can't find any place in iMovie to flip these pictures so they appear correctly. Any help or ideas will be greatly appreciated. I don't have the slides anymore so it's not like I can rescan them.

You don't need to rescan the slides (or have Photoshop) ... just open each image in PREVIEW (in your dock), select Tools>Flip Horizontal, the 'Save As' as desired to save the flipped image.
Woops - I just imported the flipped image into iMovie '08 and you are quite correct - the image gets 'unflipped'. I guess maybe you DO need something like Photoshop Elements (or Photoshop). Sorry

  • Multiple photos scanned in - how do I crop them each out?

    Hello,
My Son sent me a few photos in email where he scanned 3 and 4 pictures right next to each other all at one time. How can I successfully crop all photos out of the "one" picture? I tried going into Edit, then Photo Fix, then Crop. I was able to crop out one of the 3 or 4 photos, but then the others disappeared. Please HELP! Thanks.

Thanks Colin, that worked like a charm! I was trying to use Copy and wondered why that wasn't working. I didn't even see Duplicate on the pull down menu. Must've been too tired.
Now, one other question, please. The first set of multiple scanned pictures that I did crop from, of course left me with the one of the 4 pictures that I cropped. So, where's the other 3 - my Original? I've tried looking for it under Show All, and Find by date with no luck. I've not tagged or identified my photos yet in any other way. I'm such a newbie. Much to learn. I can tell you that I did NOT click to have anything removed from my hard drive, so I'm assuming that the original is here somewhere. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • 7520 wireless scan to mac

When I first got my 7520 allinone printer, it could scan wirelessly to my macbook.  Last week I got a new internet service, which meant a new home network.  Everything has installed on the network fine, including the printer.  I can print from both computers (pc and mac) wirelessly.  And I can scan to the pc wirelessly.  But I cannot scan to the mac wirelessly.  The mac does not show up on my list of computers when I try to scan from the 7520 screen.
Anyone have any issue like this?  Lend a hand?

    Hello,
I see that you're having an issue scanning from the printer.
When you scan from the print utility on the desktop, do you receive an error message or anything indicated the scan could not go through?

  • Flip photos (scanned slides)

I'm in the process of scanning several hundred slides. I've had several instances where the scan was reversed. Just flipping using Preview degrades the quality of the image (by default). Also, if you flip a photo after it has been tagged with names the placement of the names is now off. Earlier versions of iPhoto allowed photos to be flipped, does anyone know why this feature was removed?

does anyone know why this feature was removed?
No one outside of Apple would know this.

  • Batch photo cropping post photo scans

I just scanned in a ton of old photos.  is there an easy way to batch crop the white space out?  Has to be.
    Please advise

Photoshop (or any associated products) is not able to crop as you desire.
Corel can do this, but you have to first crop about 50 pixels from the edges, then crop border color.  This can be steps can be recorded as a script, then run on all your scanned images as a batch operation.
    Good luck!

  • Slide & Photo Scanning

Does HP offer templates/holders in order to scan 35 mm slides and varying size photos on the Pro8500A All-In-One unit?  I do have a PhotoSmart Photo Scanner S2o but it appears that HP doe snot make drivers for this unit for Win 7.

    Hi
i understand that you are referring to Negative/Flim scanning. If so this printer does not support slide scanning. So it does not come with any holder /template for this type fo scaning

  • HP Photosmart 7520 - Cannot Scan to email, says I have no connection

    Hello,
I am having problems with the scan to email option. The printer is connected to internet and all the apps work on the printer screen. I've tried shutting it off (both wifi and printer) and turning it on again. I also tried changing the DNS Address Configuration, but nothing works. This is the only problem I am having because I can print wirelessly from my Mac and I can even scan to my Mac. I've had this printer for a year and I've used the scan to email option many times and this is the first time its failed me. Please let me know what else I can do.
    Thank you.

    Hi @NGP84,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you are unable to use the scan to email feature of your Photosmart 7520 printer.
If you haven’t already set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers, please do so.  If you are unsure how to do this I have included another post, with screen shots, on how to do this.  Please do not worry that the screen shots show a Photosmart 7510 printer, the steps are the same.
If you have already set a manual IP address and manual DNS servers and are still unable to use the scan to email feature, please call HP’s Cloud Services at 1-855-785-2777 if you live in the USA/Canada region. If you live outside the USA/Canada region please click here to find the Technical Support number for your country/region.
