HP 7610

My HP 7610 will scan all types of documents, but will not save anything but pdf or jpg. When I scan an editable document it scans but will not allow me to save. I have unloaded and reloaded the most recent software, I have run HP Print and scan doctor, but nothing works. What is the solution?

Many printers now do not have OCR software which allows users to scan to editable documents because in many cases the software is more expensive than the printer itself. You have to buy the software or please try the following software free:

HP 7610 won't scan to usb

I have had this printer for several months. I absolutely love it. However, recently it has been giving me problems when I try to scan to my USB. My USB is 64GB (Core Micro) brand. I scanned using this memory stick before. Not sure why this error message keeps coming up on the screen of the printer saying: "Connect a USB storage device to the USB port" when it is connected. Sometimes, it reads it for a minute, then it says the memory stick was removed or to connect the storage device to the usb port. Please someone help! Not sure what to do. I have the HP 7610 Officejet.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Officejet 7610e-All-in-One Printer - H912a and not scanning to your USB device. You can change many scan settings from the HP scanning software.
If that does not help try removing the USB device and going into your device manager and uninstall the USB driver. Restart the computer and try inserting it again. It should install the new driver. Have you tried another USB jump drive?

Officejet 7610 wide format: can't scan legal documents to pdf

I am having a problem scanning legal documents from the ADF and/or off the glass.
only cropped letter size gets created.
I believe I am using newest model with the newest drivers.
Just purchased and installed drivers from the internet.
I need work-a-round or other fix.

There is no setting in the Front Panel to set to Legal. All paper size settings need to be done on the SW. I believe you have installed the overall SW.
Select HP Office 7610 series icon from pc desktop. Otherwise Click > Program > HP > HP Officejet 7610 series to open HP Printer Assistant.
1. Select Set Preferences.
2. Select Paper/Quality.
3. Change Paper Size to Legal.
4. Click OK to save setting.
Now by default the scan target will be scanned to Legal size. Take note by default if there is A4 or Letter siz paper and when setting is at legal, then these paper sizes will be scanned to legal sizes.
Alternatively if you do not want to set the default size to legal, then you can go to HP Printer Assistant. Select "Scan a document or Photo". Select the appropriate settings and do a SW scan.

I dont quite understand the problem you are describing. Can you be more specific what is the problem you are facing. Are you not able to scan a document. Are not able to print a scan document. Are not able to print from a software application.

We're experiencing a similar problem with cad 13 and win 8.1 with 7610 e-all in one printer. always plots a4 or letter size in the middle of the A3 paper. Urgent Help needed - locked out of my 7610!

Hi all. Think I might have locked myself out of voice calls on my 7610 accidentally. Forgot to lock the keypad when I put the phone i my bag and when I retrieved it it had "###########" on the keypad. Now it won't allow me to make any outbound calls (including to customer services) but sms, emaila and WAP all still work. I've checked the sim and it works perfectly well in another handset. What do I do to get my voice calls back??!! (I'm an Orange user, but I think this is a handset rather than a network problem).

One way to contact Orange Customer Services is to phone 07973 100 150 from any phone and follow the prompts.
You could also try resetting your phone, but you will lose ALL your data on your phone such as contacts and calendar appointments etc.
I would advise you to check with Orange first.

Problem with Nokia 7610 supernova

I bought my Nokia 7610 supernova recently. I am in China. It has the same problem- restoration of original settings- & that too in Chinese. So as per the solution given on one of the forums I downloaded Nokia PC suite & then I tried to update the software. Everything went well till I started the software update. It said fatal error because minimum memory required is 256 MB.And so update cannot take place. I tried to do it again but got the same result. I have at least 350 MB of free space in my phone at the moment. Can u help me with this? I have no idea how to solve this.

what has that go to do with Photoshop? If you can't print on an HP 7610 no matter what you may need to print it is a legitimate question. Yes? I guess you've nothing to offer in terms of a printing solution.
No caps as far as I can see from the full threads. So no shouting. Each time I asked the question the reply from the monitor was that I didn't put it in the form of a question. Assuming that the monitor was saying re-word it and send it again. So I did. Not realizing that each time it was a different post.

i've been searching through out the forum and there's no one having this problem.
pc suite 6.82.22
nokia 7610
windows pro xp service pack 2
ziga (brand) bluetooth, it works previously. so i don think it has a problem with the bluetooth device.
here's my problem,
after i changed my phone's name to a new one(connect > bluetooth). and it started to have problems.
tried reinstall pc suite several times and still doesn't work.
So started with get connected button on the pc suite, it found my phone, and i connect it. so the passkey windows pops out. and i key the same on my phone, once i tap DONE on phone. phones just nothing happens. but pc detects my phone, installed and not in the control panel it found my phone. But in the PC suite there's nothing happens. that passkey window doesn't let me click next. i clicked cancel and do a new search. now it doesnt detects my phone. once i remove the phone from the control panel. PC suites found my phone. but having the same problem. once i keyed my code on my phone, i just couldnt click next on the PC suite passkey window. cancle, and do a new search..phone not found.
previously it works before i change my phone's name. i dont understand why it doesn't work now. previously it was the same Version of PC suite. Any Help? thanks alot, and appriciate it.

Try this:
1. Go to Windows' Control Panel and open "Add or Remove Programs" application.
2. Select "PC Connectivity Solution", click "Change" and then "Repair".
3. After Repair, restart PC.
If not, then try this:
1. Unpair you phone via BT stack.
2. Remove you paired PC-information also via phone BT-UI
3. Restart PC.
4. Run GCW and pair your phone -> if it is not go to end (wait e.g. 2 minutes), press cancel and restart PC. After that start e.g. Nokia PC Sync application > Select Phone > Refresh.

I read about the scanning quality issues you're having with your Officejet 7610 on Windows 8.1 and I would like to help.
Please try these few steps and get back to me with the results.
Power reset the printer:
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
Ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Check for a Firmware Update: Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates
Test a copy from the front of the printer. Was there any issues?
Test a scan from the PC. What did the scan look like?
If there was an issue with the scan only, run the Print and Scan Doctor. This diagnostic tool will check for any conflicts that could be causing the issue. The tool will show you a report at the end. If there was a problem that the tool could not fix, you will notice it in the results.

7610 Problems when roaming

I have a very strange situation. When I travel to France or Belgium I can't receive vioce calls. The phone interprets the call as a datacall and not as a voice call. I've checked with a different phone (9500) and it works fine. I can also make calls.
The phone works fine in, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Finland, Sweden, USA, UK & Ireland ...
Phone: 7610
Software: V4.0421.4 22-05-2004 RH-51
Would flashing the phone solve the problem?

This does sound like a firmware problem. Getting it flashed would be a good idea.
Check your network have set up everything correctly on your account as well

PDF issues with Deskjet 7610

We purchased a Deskjet 7610 about four months ago.
When we generate PDFs from our CAD software, Vectorworks 2015, they sometimes print correctly and sometimes print with the annotations all bunched together so they're unreadable. The attached images show how an drawing should look ('Plan - correct') and how they sometimes print ('Plan - wrong').
This problem does not happen when we send the PDFs to be printed by others, eg external printer companies.
Any suggestions for how we might resolve this problem?

7610s Animated thumbnails in Video clips folder

I got my 7610s last week and was flicking through the folders when I came to the Video clips folder and I was plesently supprised to see it had animated thumbnails for the video clips .
I then updated to the latest software form my phone model and now the thumbnails arent animated anymore - they just show a small video camera ontop of a previews picture.
Is this an option I need to turn on to get it working again or has this been removed from the latest firmware (If so, WHY !!!!)

Ok, here's how to do it, for future reference. I think in my case the problem was the frame rate. It was set at 24, but as per http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4025, apple likes 30fps for a 640px movie.
So, if this happens to you, run it through MPEG streamclip (it's a free download) and convert it to 30 FPS Jpeg mov files.
man, such a relief! I hope this helps others.

7610 as a modem

Hello all
I have set up my 7610 to work as a dialup modem via the USB cable. However, it is really slow: only 9.6kbps. Is there some way to speed this up? I don't really want to connect via GPRS, which I know is faster, because my service provider (O2) charges a ridiculous £3/MB! I can't imagine anybody using this 9.6kbps to surf the web, it took 24 minutes to download a 1.35MB file (Google web accelerator, didn't make much difference)! Surely it should be faster, have I done something wrong and has anybody got a way of getting a faster connection? I'm only after a realistic dialup speed (56kbps or similar, like a landline does). I'm not really clued up on this sort of thing so it is likely that I did something wrong when setting up, so if someone could provide me with a walkthrough that would also be great.

A normal GSM data call is 9.6kbps.
A high-speed circuit-switched data (HSCSD) connection is faster (up to 48kbps), but the call will also cost more. Check whether your operator supports HSCSD in the first place, and what their tariffs for it are.
However, I don't remember if the 7610 supports HSCSD calls.

GPRS packet data speed is about the same ~50kbps, by the way.

Converting video from the Nokia 7610

Hi There,
I have been sent a video with the file extension .Mp4, from a Nokia 7610 phone. I believe that this media is of the H263 or 3gp format. I would like to convert this file into a standard AVI file for editing in Adobe Premier or Virtual Dub. Can anyone tell me how this can be done.
I have tried downloading numerous programs and codecs but to no avail. (I'm running Windows XP)
