Hp 8100 elite /geforce gtx 650 ddr3 2gb 256mb

bought a new video card (GeForce gtx650 ddr3 2gb 256mb)for my 8100 but when I start up the power light turns red and beeps.do I need to upgrade power supply or is this card bad or non-compatible with my computer.

Hi:
Does the power supply on that model have the 6 pin supplementary PCIe power connector that the card requires?
http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gtx-650/specifications
My 8000 Elite CMT doesn't.
And you will not be able to upgrade the P/S in any 8xxx Elite desktop because the power supplies are proprietary.
You will need to get a video card that will work within the limits of the 320 W power supply the PC has.
If you have an 8100 Elite SFF, the P/S is only 240 W.
The probable reason the PC is beeping at you, is because you didn't plug the extra power connector the card needs into it.  That is what the specs for the card state it requires.

  • Can I put a EVGA GeForce GTX 650 2GB in my HP Pavillion Elite 380t

I currently have ATI Radeon HD 5450 video card that came with my HP Pavillion Elite 380t when I bought it a few years ago.  I am now using new Adobe Cloud 2014 products including Premiere Pro, After Effects , Audition.  I have been getting messages saying the GPU requires approved NVIDIA graphics card and CUDA 5.0 or later, Mercury Playback Engine, etc.  A friend suggested getting  a EVGA GeForce GTX 650 2GB.  I am trying to figure out if that is a good option and if I can put it into my current computer.

    Hi,
I have seen some posts out here where using the NVIDIA 650 was problematic.
I have the same motherboard in my HP e9280t and I was was successful with using the NVIDIA 460 and the 660.  The 460 watt power supply in your PC should be enough for the NVIDIA GTX 660.

  • Nvidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti Mecury GPU Acceleration CS5.5

    Hi all!
I am having problems with my GTX 285, so i am looking to upgrade it. I have found the GeForce GTX 650 Ti card quite cheap, but i need to know, does the Premiere Pro CS5.5 Mecury GPU Playback engine support this card? It ain't listed in the list of supported cards, but it's an Nvidia card so i just wanted to be sure I also need to know: is the new cards on the list, that was added in CS6 also supported on CS5.5?
    Thank you in advance

Sorry to say this but your AMD CPU is not a fast CPU when it comes to video editing.  If you search around on our 1100 record data base of PPBM5 benchmarks the fastest AMD single chip unit ranks at 502 out of those 1100 tested configuration.  This is because AMD does not have some of the latest SSE 4.2 instructions on the chip.  This is why Intel is so highly recommended for video editing.  If you are using any of the MPE accelerated effects or features an you want the highest quality encoding with minimum encoding time you need an nVidia GPU

  • HP Pavilion p6510f Desktop intermittent failures - Antec 25 430 WATT Power & NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 650

After installing a new power supply and video card (Antec 25 430 WATT Power & NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 650), my system became unstable.  It worked fine for the first 3-4 hours then had a BSOD (blue screen of death) with kernel_data_inpage_error 0000007A and later a critical process failure 000000F4.  I've done all of the tests listed on this page as well as removed and replaced the cmos battery:
    http://www.faultwire.com/solutions-fatal_error/KERNEL-DATA-INPAGE-ERROR-0x0000007A-*1137.html
All of the tests passed and no problems were found and yet the system still fails after 3-4 hours of use.
So, I removed everything from my system and restored it to it's original settings.  It seems to be back to normal now (but, we'll see for how long).
This experience has demoralized me.  This is due to the fact that I've heard of others having difficulties trying to upgrade their systems.  Seems like there is about a 50% success rate unless you know what works from past experience.  I feel that the only way to get a system that has good graphics now is a well tested gaming box (PS3, XBOX, or Wii).  Is there any recommended or possibly well tested setups for this type of system that could give me the quality of a GEFORCE GTX 650 without causing blue screens or cause instability for my computer?
Since this computer comes with ATI and AMD parts, I presume maybe getting an ATI or AMD graphics card would work?  Regardless of the graphics card, the 250W power that comes with this system would most likely need to be replaced.  Are there are any power supplys that you recommend or possibly tested?
I realize there are a few questions in this post, but I have one more.  Are there any motherboard analysis tools to enusre nothing has gone wrong with the mother board?  When the blue screens were occurring it seemed to make strange noises from the hard drive as it it were thrashing and after rebooting it would sometimes fail to recognize the existance of the hard drive as well.  Since all of the hard drive tests were successful (I also ran SeaTools), this leads me to believe that the power is inssuficient, but I'm now fearful that if I upgrade the power it will only cause more problems.

So, using the standard setup still makes strange noises at various intervals, but not as frequently.  I have a bad feeling that it has caused disk drive problems based on the fact that:
    1)  Strange noises are now occuring during particular load times (although rarely)
    2)  Computer crashes (although, it no longer crashes now that I'm back in it's regular setup)
    3)  Occassionall it has really slow access times
These symptoms fall into the category of a failing drive based on the following site:
    http://www.lifehack.org/articles/technology/how-to-tell-when-your-hard-drive-is-going-to-fail.html
I'm going to return the power supply and game card and look to investing in a new hard drive in case this one finally decides to go to valhalla.

  • Installed Geforce GTX 650 graphics card, but monitors won't turn on

I have installed a geforce gtx 650 graphics card in my hp pavilion and a corsair hx750 power supply, but after installing it and trying to get it to work the monitor won't detect any signal from the dvi plugs. I've tried looking up the problem before, and I think it is because the hp pavilion is an AMD, so it is locking out any new hardware in the computer, but after uninstalling everything and putting the original power supply back in, the monitors still won't get signal. I don't know if I might have broke something while trying to hook up the power supply or graphics card, but i figured someone else could figure out the problem.

New to the iMac and apple

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
If you aren't going to use your Mac for anything special (Final Cut, Aperture, Photoshop, games...), you don't need that graphic card and you will save money.
Also, as it looks like you are going to buy the 27-inch iMac, I recommend you to buy the Mac with 8 GB of memory, and then, buy the memory that your iMac needs in OWC or Crucial (the iMac supports 32 GB of RAM) > http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/iMac/2012_27/DDR3L
Doing this, you will save a lot of money. Also, it won't void the warranty of the Mac. If you need help installing the RAM, see > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5540

If it's not on the system requirements list, then After Effects won't use it for GPU acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer. Read this page for details about what this means:

  • Premiere Elements 10 Bad/No performance on Win 8 64-bit Core i5-4440 16gig ram and GeForce GTX-650

Since just over a year i'm the owner of Premiere Elements 10, however it has never pleased me due to bad and inconsistant performance. Just putting video's one after another without any transitions works so-so a few frames per second (which is rediculus). But when i start doing things like motion keyframes, i have no preview at all just a bit of choppy audio. First i thought it was my laptop (a win 7 64-bit core i7 3rd gen, with geforce 610m and 8gig of ram) not bad but i thought well it is a laptop so it might be a bit slower, i'll have to deal with it. However since a few months i own a new PC (specs above), and experience the very same issue. No performance! Every time i think about editing a video i start the program and within a few minutes i get so angry with it that i close it and leave the video's be.
Pre-Rendering the workspace also has no effect at all. I have no red bar above the timeline (sometimes even green).
And worst of all it keeps messing up the timing of the video while editing. If you change a clip in the timeline all clips following (the motion edits) are destroyed. Which is only visible after a few hours of rendering, since live preview is only audio.
What in the world can be done to fix this problem. As you probably can read i'm pretty annoyed.
The free video editing software that comes with the gopro moves rotates and scales smoothly in live playback, so it is not impossible on the machine. (too bad the functionality of this program is so limited, else i could finally throw Premiere Elements away!).
Is there anybody who can help me in my despair?

  • NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 Graphics Card

How difficlut is it to replace a grphic card in a HP P6210Y

Here are the specs for your HP Pavilion p6210y Desktop Computer. According to the specs, this model has a PCIe x16 graphics card slot and a 300 watt power supply. In theory, the computer's PCIe x16 slot is v2.0 and a PCIe x16 v3.0 graphics card should work in this slot. You will need an open space next to the PCIe x16 slot to accomodate the GTX 660 Ti. Please see "Adding or Replacing an Expansion Card (Video Card, Sound Card, etc...)" for instructions on installing a graphics card in your computer.
You will also need to replace the power supply with a unit rated to work with your new graphics card. It appears the minimum system power supply requirement for the GTX 660 Ti series of cards is 600 watts. Please consider the Corsair CX600 or CX600M for your power supply needs. The Corsair CX600M is modular, which allows for better cable management and air flow in the HP case. Please see "Replacing the Power Supply" for instructions on installing a new power supply in your computer.
