Hp 8500 wireless, cant use tray 2 to feed photo paper

I have tried defaulting to tray 2 to print a high quality photo on HP Advanced Photo Paper Glossy photo
but it will only take paper from tray 1
How do I fix this???
Thanks in advance.

The photo paper needs to be placed on Tray 1. Tray 2 is only for Letter\Legal size plain paper.

I have a 309g photosmart prem. I can not use the HP advanced photo paper 10.5mil Lb paper, when It feeds through it says mismatch. I have change the settings and everything, my same paper that is 4x6 works but not the 8x10?
Help I want to print a 5x7 and the paper will not go through?

In case you are not getting the option to select the paper from PSE, you can go to printer settings through the icon present in the print dialog box, there you can select the paper. The paper selected in the advanced options should be reflected in PSE as well.

  • Photosmart 7515 jams using Kirkland (Costco) glossy photo paper

I have used other photo papers in the past including HP.  But this time I purchased a package of Kirkland Professional Glossy Inkjet Photo Paper.  After starting a print job, the paper starts to feed and then jams.  Once it actually printed, but the print was about half off the paper.  The other attempts all jammed.  I ruined 5 sheets so far with no success. This Kirkland paper does not seem any different from the others used.  Is there something wrong with the printer?  I don't have a different paper to try at the moment.

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that your HP Photosmart 7515 is jamming when using Kirkland (Costco) glossy photo paper. I am happy to help!  It is possible, that this type of paper may not be supported with this printer. In order for me to find out, I will need to know the size and weight of the paper you are using. In the meantime, please try the steps in this paper jam guide. A 'Paper Jam' Error Displays on the HP Photosmart 7510 e-All-in-One Printer Series. Hope this guide helps, and hope to hear from you soon!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

  • Officejet Pro 8600 (N911a) will not feed photo paper - Definitive Answer!!!!

    DUST IS THE CULPRIT!
As per the HP support page for this specific problem, cleaning the rollerhead (The rubber part of the pick roller), is the solution.
    HP Solution here (with pictures).
The specifics are found under the heading:
Solution four: Clean the paper rollers
My printer was able to pick up regular paper, but not photo paper.  I updated all drivers (they automatically update weekly).  I tried every combination of paper in the tray: 1 sheet of photo paper, a large stack of regular paper with 1 photo paper, large stack with 5 sheets of photo paper.  Every combination failed, and the best it got was 1 page of photo paper with the next sheet underneath also coming with it.
I put the thing on its side, and used RUBBING ALCOHOL, (not water as they suggest... rubbing alcohol is much better for electronics, and pretty much any cleaning application.... evaporates very quickly), with a true lint free cloth.  Went over it several times with the cloth, rotating while cleaning, and used an AIR DUSTER to clean out the internals, and dry off the PICK ROLLER.
I RESET ROLLER POSITION to the original place, as shown in the HP Photo on support page.
Lastly, ONE SHEET OF PAPER at a time.
It took all that, and I'm still not happy with HP for this massive oversight... but it got my photos printing again.  Hopefully it will for you too!!

I managed to find a temporary solution as i need to print a photo urgently :
I sticked a piece of scotchtape along the top border of the paper (on the back side) and then it could feed. And i don't know why, but after this first print with scotchtape, the next photo papers would feed normally.
I hope it helps you guys. See the picture:

  • HP OfficeJet 8615 wont feed photo paper.

I've followed all the steps and suggestions I could find, including everything listed at http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Officejet-Pro-8610-e-All-in-One-Printer-series/5367603/model/5385104/document/c04117836/ and the **bleep** thing won't pick up either "HP Everyday Photo Paper, Glossy, 8.5 x 11 Inches" or Staples Photo Supreme Matte 8.5x11 paper and neither will feed though the darn thing.  It feeds plain paper just fine, but refuses to do any photo paper. I'm about ready to return this worthless piece of junk.  I've worked with Canon, Brother, and other printers before and I have never run into such a poorly designed feed mechanism.

I have found the same thing--except it will print on 4X6 card stock.  Initially it did seem to print on photo paper so I am thinking that perhaps it is the rollers that are either gummed up with ink or are worn after a while.  It seems that it also has difficulty printing thicker photo paper in larger sizes.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless Printer....indicates a paper jam when there isnt one

Unit was working fine, including wireless.  Now paper jam message keeps reappearing when there isn't a jam.  Any thoughts

If the printer is under warranty, contact HP Support.  If not, it is probably cheaper to buy a new printer than to fix this one.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless (DUPLEXER MISSINN)

    Hi,
can anbody help me please?? I just bought a 2nd hand printer HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless. The printer doesnt feed the paper (it does not pick it up). However, the paper goes pass by the printer and leaves through the back. There is no duplexer installed on the back. Do you think this causes the problem and then will buying a new duplexer solve the issue?
    Thanks a lot,
    rob

There are a few different part numbers for the duplexer, any of these should work:
    C9101A
    C9101-67001
    CQ821-65001
I see these offered various places from $11.95 to over $200. I have had good results in the past buying a duplexer on ebay.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Wireless second paper tray under Snow Leopard

He there, I have a strange problem with the second (extra) paper tray from the Office Jet Pro 8500. I have setup the tray and activated the option on the driver page on the computers, but no results. No paper is loaded from the tray and there is an error that no paper is loaded in the machine. The printer is connected via ethernet (and a time machine) and I am running snow leopard on all the machines that are connected to the printer. I have installed the latest drivers from Apple and from HP. I know that the paper tray is working, because when I make a copy on the machine localy and force him to use papertray number 2, then there is no problem.
Does anybody have the same problem?? Thanks

I also just tried connecting my 8500 wireless printer directly via usb and then downloading the HP printer drivers from Apple downloads and reinstalling.
The install hangs nearly forever on the final step, but eventually says the driver install was successful. However, then when connected via usb, I am unable to print. Printing works when you reconnect via the wireless on the 8500.
So connecting via usb and reinstalling HP printer drivers does not solve the issue. And it's puzzling, because the list of supported printers under Snow Leopard lists the Officejet Pro8500 Wireless as supporting both printing and scanning.
    Somebody has it wrong.
If this scanning problem continues very long, I may be forced to uninstall Snow Leopard, because my printer is brand new.

  • Using 2 separate 8500 wireless printers

I own 2 HP 8500 wireless printers.  1 is at home, and 1 is at my office.
Both of them work perfectly, all features work.
I have a HP tx1410 laptop, running Vista with SP2 installed.
I have the laptop set up so that all the wireless printing features work at my office, but when I bring my laptop home and want to print on the home printer... the wireless feature won't work from my laptop.  The printer shows up in the network and sharing, but it seems like the drivers on my laptop are configured to work with the printer at the office.
This is only a problem when using my laptop to use both of the printers.
It is not a problem with the hardware, or the network because using either of the printers separately with a different computer works perfectly.
I've tried to run 'add a printer' in my printers folder.  My home wireless shows up as a valid printer to select in the "searching for available printers" window, but the operation fails.  error code is 0x00000643
again, the problem is not with the hardware or the network.
If, I uninstall the hp drivers, then reinstall clean at home - then the home wireless works perfectly but then wireless printing on the work printer doesn't work.
for some reason my laptop can't save / keep / use the configuration settings for the exact same 2 HP wireless printers.

Once you install the home printer, insert the installation CD and click on 'Add A Device'. Now select the connection type as ethernet\wireless, and it'll find and add your work printer(you need to be at work).

  • I am unable to scan using the hp office jet pro 8500 wireless all in one printer from an I-MAC

I have a new I-MAC OS Lion computer and an older HP Officejet Pro 8500 wireless all-in-one printer, scanner, fax, photo.  I cannot scan, though I can print and I can fax.  The error message says I must be connected to the network, and yet I am connected.  The only diagnostic tool available is for MS systems only.  Help???

    Hi,
Make sure to use any scan method available for Lion.
If you have the HP Scan application installed, be aware that the used software version is not intended for Lion.
Please follow the steps below to find what scan methods may be used on the OS:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01910186&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3752459
If there is still any problem while trying to scan, also make sure to install the latest HP Printer Driver 2.9 by clicking the Apple icon and then Software Update.

For some reason, your Mac doesn't recognise that a keyboard is present, so it looks for a wireless keyboard. The question is, why doesn't your Mac recognise that a keyboard is attached?
First, you need to make sure you remove all peripherals, especially USB peripherals (the keyboard is on the USB bus). Then restart holding down the Shift key. This should boot in Safe mode. If the computer boots normally (not in safe mode) and the keyboard is still not working, try resetting the SMC
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964>
If that still doesn't fix the problem, then the keyboard (or its controller) is probably damaged and needs to be replaced.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless - will not print green

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless that will not print Green.
    I have:
    1.  Cleaned Printhead using device cleaning command.  All steps
    2.  Alligned Printer - get message 'Alignment failed.  Refer to device documentation for details.'  I see know documentation
    3.  Calibrate Linefeed
    4.  Unplugged device while it was on and then replugged restarted.
    5.  Unplugged device while it was on and cleaned magenta/cyan printhead (following instructions from your website explictly).
The Alignment failed message persists and it still will not print green.  I have done some of the above multiple times.
I hope you can help quickly.  I have a home office and this is putting me behind a lot!

I see that you are having an issue when it comes to printing in green.  I also see that you are having some issues with aligning the printer.
I have a few suggestions and with any luck, hopefully get this issue resolved for you.
Please start off by making sure you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip.  I have a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but is meant for HP products in general. Please click the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
I also have a document that troubleshoots Fixing Ink Streaks, Faded Prints, and Other Common Print Quality Problems.
Please write me back if you are still having issues or if you have more questions.

  • Printing problem - HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-in-One Printer - printer head?

I posted this elsewhere, but I think I posted it on the wrong Forum so I am posting it here now. I hope I did not do anything to upset anyone. I am new to this area, please forgive my clumsiness.
I have a HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-in-One Printer. I've had my printer since December 2009 and no problems. I recently bought a new laptop with Windows 7 and had to go online to find the drivers that work for my printer. Windows 7 was not compatible with this printer.
Also recently, I am having a problem with what I think may be the black printer head, but when I run diagnostic on it everything comes back saying it is fine. However the problem still exist. When printing the black color will become faded in some areas and in some lines will not only almost totally fade out, but will almost look italic.
Can you tell me if this is the printer head and does it need replacing or is there another problem?
    SondraS

Are you using genuine HP cartridges and not refilled or third-party cartridges?
Print the Print Quality Diagnostic page from the setup menu/print report/ on the printer's front panel
Are there any quality issues with this page?
