HP 8540s i7 quad CPU change out

Hello again friends!
This time I have an extreamly "interesting" question: I have an HP Eleitebook 8540s, w/ an i7 quad, 1st gen chip. The motherboard is an HP1521. I have an Intel processor from a Lenovo, G500s Touch. It is a core i3, 3rd gen. chip.
My HP i7 quad has a socket # 989rPGA. The Lenovo, has a socket # FCP GA 988. Although these 2 are not the same exact match, will they be interchangeable? Perhaps I should be asking this question to the Intel community forum? I am not a member there, and was hoping to get some input from the HP "experts"! Thanks!

No a 3rd gen i7 will not fit in a socket made for a 1st gen. 988 pins will not fit in a 989 pin socket.

Changed out Quadro 4000 for GTX 770 - no change in performance

I had to reformat and reinstall Windows 7 and my CC apps last week, and I'd been planning on changing out my nVidia Quadro 4000 for a GTX 770, mainly for the boost in CUDA cores, figuring from all that I've read over the years that there should be a boost in render and export performance in Premiere Pro.
Today I did the swap out. Just prior to pulling the Quadro, I noted the render time for a timeline that I was working on. I deleted all previews and cleaned the media cache, and rendered the timeline. which took 1:12. I also exported to a 720P(matching my sequence size) H.264 YouTube profile with Max Quality and Max Depth set. That took 5:28.
I installed the PNY GTX 770 4GB ('Enthusiast Edition', I must add), and performed the same tests. The results? No difference. At all. With all factors remaining the same, I'd assumed that the increase in CUDA cores would have boosted performance some, actually a lot.
Have I been misreading all of the advice both here and elsewhere on CUDA performance?

I cleaned up several albums in iTunes only to have Match wipe all of my changes out. How can I alter things in iTunes and have the changes stay?

I signed up for Match but when I added new albums, they failed to appear. Ultimately I got a message to Sign Out and then Sign In to the Apple Store tab under iTunes. I then added the computer back to Match. It went through the process and uploaded the new albums (or matched them) but it also reversed hours of work I had done it editing my library and cleaning up track lists and song titles.
HOW CAN I edit/maintain my library without Match wiping every change out?????
And when will the Cover Art issue be solved???

Match was off. I made all of the changes and then went through the "Turn on iTunes Match" option. I now have deleted some tracks, edited the Metadata in CDDA, and then added it back. This worked fine, but it is not a good solution.
I just tried making some edits and use the "Update iTunes Match" and that seemed to work. It looks like the real answer is that Match must be up and operational, then you can make changes and run the Update to incorporate the changes. However, if Match has a problem then Signing Out and back in to your store account and going through the process of Turning On Match (were you get the questions, "Add this Computer to Match" will overwrite any changes.
Since this relies on the stability of iTunes, I won't be making a lot of changes between updates.

Did you remove and reinstall all the Apple software by:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
Run this to see if it helps determine the cause

Try on another computer to help determine if you have an iPod or computer problem'
Last, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
     1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
         with your computer. Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
         After the chime press and hold down the "C" key. Release the key when you see
         a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
     2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
         button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
         After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
         size.) Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window. Set the number of
         partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
         and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
         (Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
     3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed
         with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
     4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
         Assistant. Be sure you configure your initial admin account with the exact same
         username and password that you used on your old drive. After you finish Setup
         Assistant will complete the installation after which you will be running a fresh
         install of OS X. You can now begin the update process by opening Software
         Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

J4680 was connected to wireless but had to change out routers. now it will not connect. win 7.

My J4680 worked great on my old wireless. I changed out routers and now I can't get it reconnected. I have Windows 7 so the install disk never worked for me. Is there somewhere I can get the Windows 7 install exe so I can configure the wireless through my PC. When I put in the security key on the J4680 keyboard it always fails.

No. Call Apple Care and give them the serial number. They may be able to tell you who it is locked to.

Can't change out printer cartridges

I am having trouble changing out printer cartridges, because the spool will not bring the cartridges over to the center to change them when I open the access door for some reason. I have tried power off the unit and back on mulitiple times, but nothing seems to help. I even cleaned the cartridges and allign the print head, but still can not get it to open up access to the cartridges like most printers do when opening the door.

Is the printer connected directly into an outlet or is it in a power bar/surge protector?HP recommends connecting directly to the electrical outlet. If the carriage still does not move for you to install the ink, try this.
With the printer turned on and in a ready state, disconnect the power from the back of the printer. Open the carriage access door and can you now manually move the carriage to the correct position to remove and install the inks. If you require further assistance would you please tell me what model of printer do you have? Please let me know if this resolves your issue.

Changing out my HD for a new one on a new imac 2.4 20"

Hi all, I want to change out my stock 320 GB hitachi to something bigger. what is the biggest HD I can hold in the 20 inch iMac. I mean as long as it is a 3.5: SATA I should be OK. I am asking cause I saw there is a new Barracuda line(seagate) that is 7200.11 it has data rates like 105Mb/sec and like 32mb cache (I think ).
