HP 8600 all in one Printer Scanner to Computer with Windows 8

i can not get the printer to reconize the Computor i want to scan to  i Have HP Printer 8600 all in one printer and HP computor with Windows 8 (wireless)

Hello Stringfield, and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I see you are experiencing scan issues.  I would like to help.
I would suggest performing a power reset on the printer.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.
I would then recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Please let me know the results.  Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Do I need to download drivers for an HP 8600 all in one printer after upgrading to Mavericks from Mountain Lion?

I am about to upgrade my Mac's OS from Mountain Lion to Mavericks.   I recently networked to my Mac on our home wireless network an HP 8600 all in one printer/scanner and an HP LaserPro 127.   I saw a note posted in a non-Apple forum stating that the Mavericks upgrade should include the drivers needed to run these products on Mavericks.   Is that correct or will I need to download a new set of drivers from HP after I upgrade to Mavericks?
    Any guidance would be appreciated.

  • All in One Printer/Scanner/Copier/Fax Recommendations

    Hi,
I'm looking to purchase an all in one printer/scanner/copier/fax device. I was wondering what recommendations other people have. The main purpose would be to print photos, scan photos and some small business office printing. Note, a fax would be nice, but is not absolutely neccessary.
Scanning photos would be important, since I plan to scan our family's photo albums into iPhoto.
Also, is there a printer than can communicate with the Mini using bluetooth? If so , does it work well?
Since I have limited desk space, size would be an issue (smaller the better).
Looking to spend about $200, slightly more if the cost justifies itself. Less is always better.
    Thanks in advance!

    The Brother MFC-420cn
    http://www.brother-usa.com/MFC/ModelDetail.aspx?ProductID=MFC420CN
does everything you ask for less than $100 -- except bluetooth.
The Pluses: Good Mac software. Cheap ink. Networkable.
The construction is flimsy plastic, but if you are gentle it will hold up.
    Definitely small footprint.
Paper path is 180 degrees, which is not my preference.
Personally, I prefer Epson all-in-ones. Also good Mac software and 80 degree paper path for less jamming. Exceptional scan quality.

  • Problem setting up HP 6310 all-in-one printer/scanner

I have just installed archlinux for the first time, and so far everything is working great except for a HP 6310 all-in-one printer/scanner. This printer is connected by wire to a router, and the computer communicates with the router over a wireless connection. I have managed to install the printer through cups and print a test page. The problem is getting hplip and sane set up. I belive that if I get hplip set up correctly that that will take care of the sane problem.

Something about the backend isn't right, but I'm out of my depth here. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
One other point. It works with no problem in Ubuntu with both hplip and sane, so I know it is possible. I just haven't figured out the trick yet.

Well, it's fixed now, but I'm not sure why. I hooked up a HP 3970 usb scanner to my computer and when I started xsane it not only found it, but also found the 3610 all-in-one on the network. I checked hp-tools, and the 3610 was there also.So everything is working now, but I'm still curious as to why the 3610 wouldn't work with sane and hp-setup until I plugged in the 3970 to the computer.

  • Power problem with my 4620 all in one printer / scanner / fax

    Hi,
My problem is this. I have a 4620 all-in-one printer / scanner / fax. However, I have discovered this problem.
    Scenario:
The printer hasn't been used for a day or two but is plugged in still with the light above the power cord on. I want to print a word doc or whatever. I click print. I obtain a message that the computer (via wifi) can't communicate with the printer. Pressing the Power on button on the printer interface doesn't work.
My solution, I have to disconnect the power supply from the printer,  then reconnect and then press the Power On button.
This isn't normal I think. I don't think for one minute that I should have to go and disconnect and reconnect the power suppy for it to print etc.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you in advance!!

  • Scan Control from HP 1210 All in one Printer/Scanner

I now have Macbook with OS 10.6.8.
    Used to have 10.4.11
We have an HP 1210 All in one printer/scanner.
With 10.4 there was a very clear and user friendly utility provided by HP that enabled good scan control.
It enabled multiple choices of destination filetype and multiple pages scanned into a single document.
    Now I have 10.6.
I have done S/W update both with printer connected and disconnected.
I have been offered and have downloaded the latest version of s/w from HP.
Nowhere on my Mac is there a file that has any name like HP, Hewlett Packard or PSC or 1210
The utility is there somewhere because I can print, and, if I have the printer active, I can use the utility to check ink levels etc.
However the ONLY scan facility is the Mac IMage Capture.
This only does single pages and only scans to jpeg.
What do I have to do to get my full scan control facility back and active as provided by HP
    Steve B

    steve.br wrote:
However I repeat, There is no s/w that the system can find that is labled HP, Hewlett or PSC or 1200. Not in applications or Utilities or anywhere I can see.
If I use the Finder File Find utility I can search for files with any of those attributes and nothing related is found.
    Path should be HD/Library/Printers/hp
Within the hp folder are several folders with one titled "Utilities" and within that folder is the application HP Utility
    Path HD/Library/Printers/hp/Utilites/HP Utility
Since it's to be accessed from the System Preferences Print & Fax tab/pane/icon or within Image Capture, that is why those files are not in the Applications folder nor Utilities folder. It is not to be launched directly, i.e., double clicked. Be careful accessing files in the main Library folder (i.e., HD/Library/).
FYI: I have all those folders on all my computers each using a different OS even though the only HP printer I use is a 1995 Laserjet 4MV.
I Have just done a test using the SystemPreferences Printer area and get sent to the Image capture function.
So, that was after clicking the Scan tab in System Preferences > Print & Fax? It's most likely using the HP Software that you noted downloading in your original post. It is not using some phantom software.
I want to be able to save a multiple page document file in .pdf format.
I use Acrobat Professional to scan as PDF with a Brother multifuction device that is equiped with a 30 page auto document feeder (ADF). Since the HP 1210 is a flat-bed scanner, it seems that your wish can be achieved by scanning and saving each page as separate documents and then combining those documents. I cannot remember whether Apple Preview in 10.6.x offers combining PDFs but there are a number of freeware and shareware apps that can.
Is there a conversion capability that would convert from .jpeg to .pdf
Apple Preview, Adobe Photoshop, GraphicConverter are just a few apps that come to mine.
    Thanks for your help.
You're welcome. A lot has changed since Mac OS 10.4.11. Hope the above helps too.

Hi just been give a HP Potosmart C6380 All in One Printer - Scanner - Copier  , i have no information pack with it. How can i get hold of one to able to connect the printer at home.

Hello lou, What is the operating system on the computer you want to install the printer on? Depending on the OS, you would download the Full Featured Software for that OS.Then making sure you have your USB cord ready to connect the two together, install the software and follow the instructions as it installs. Connect the USB cord when it tells you to. Here is the support page for that printer. It gives the download options and manuals you would want.HP Photosmart C6380 All-in-One Printer Manuals | HP® Support IF you need further help, let me know.Thanks.

  • Connecting All-in-One printer/scanner to Airport Extreme Issue

I just bought a new Epson NX430 all in one printer/scanner. I hooked it up to the aiport extreme. Network printing and AirPrint work flawlessly.
My problem comes when I want to scan. I can't seem to figure out how to allow my desktop to accept scanned images from the Scanner.
What I think I may need to do is keep the printer attached to the airport by the usb as well as by wifi, that way i can still airprint through the airport but scan to my iMac.
Does anyone have a way for me to not have two available printers in my iMac?
    Thanks.

Bonjour only allows the print function to work when a multi-function printer is connected to the USB port on the AirPorts.
The bottom line here is that if you need the advanced features like copy, scan, maintenance, etc, the printer cannot be connected to the USB port on the AirPort routers.....since only the print function is supported at the USB port.
If you need full functionality, you have 3 possible options:
Connect the printer directly to USB port on a computer
Connect the printer (if capable) using an Ethernet cable to any LAN Ethernet port on your router or AirPort
Connec the printer (if capable) using wireless

  • Connecting HP PSC 2355 All-in-One printer/scanner using USB cord

I have a Time Capsule that I use to back up both my Mac Mini and my MacBook Pro and would like to connect my HP PSC 2355 All-in-One Printer/Scanner to the network using USB cord and plugging it into the back of my TIme Capsule. I tried this once, but was unable to find the Printer. I would like to set it up so I could use both the Printer and the Scanner from either my MacMini or my MacBook Pro. It would be really cool if I could figure out a way to use Back to My Mac to print when I am away from home and using my MacBook Pro at a WiFi Hotspot. Is this possible? How can I do it? Suggestions? Thank you!

+would it be possible to split the USB cord coming from the Printer+
I'm afraid not. The connection must be direct to either the TC or your computer, but not both at the same time.
Apple's Printer Troubleshooting Guide will guide you through the process of setting up the printer. Unfortunately, Apple does not offer a printer compatibility list, so the only way to really know if your device is compatible is to try to see if it can be configured.
Perhaps HP would could help in this regard.

  • Looking for a for an all-in-one printer that is compatible with greeting card programs...

looking for a for an all-in-one printer that is compatible with greeting card programs...my original one was an HP PSC  1510...replaced it with a Deskjet 1050 & it does not work...any suggestions?

I bought an epson xp650 a couple of months ago and cannot fault it. It does everything I require and it is the wifi model so I can print directly from my ipad/iphone. Not sure if you are asking about the colour of the unit or just to be able to print black and white, Obviously all printers will print black and white but just to give you a little more info the printer I bought is the white version and it looks really nice sat next to my imac 27''
    Hope this helps.

  • Hp officejet pro 8600 all in one prints but won't scan

I have recently moved house and changed my wireless router from BT to Virgin.
    I am running OS X 10.9.5
I am able to print from my mac without issue, however, it has stopped scanning. I have managed to get it to work twice on isolated instances but it won't work consistently.
I have unistalled the software and reinstalled via the HP download page but when I open HP Scan and click scan it asks me to choose which scanner - mine is selected, it then says preparing to scan and it does that for ages until it says it can't get a connection.
My printe r is a HP Officejet Pro 8600 All-in-one N911g - I am not bothered that much about scanning from the printer to the computer (I have tried to enable this option and it won't let me) I just want to be able to open HP Scan and press scan and it scan on my computer.
Any advice appreciated - thank you

Hi there @Steph390 , welcome to the forums!
I have some suggestions for you to hopefully correct the scanning issue you are having. Please feel free to reply back and let me know the results!
    1. Try power cycling the network devices:
Turn off the printer and computer and unplug the router for 1 minute (do not press any buttons on the router).
Plug the router back in and wait another minute, next turn on the printer and computer.
    2. Mac OS X: How to reset the printing system
    3. Repair disk permissions
    4. Restart your computer.
    5. Re-add the printer
Once the printer is connected on the network, follow these steps to maintain the wireless connection, normally a static IP will help out quite a bit: Printer Does Not Maintain Wireless Connection

  • Airport Extreme connects to Epson all in one printer, scanner doesn't work

I got a new Airport Extreme to connect my all-in-one printer, copier, scanner Epson CX8400. Connecting the printer feature to my MacBook Pro and my HP laptop was very easy, however can't get the scanning feature to work. Has anyone had this same issue? Do you know how to solve it other than plugging the USB cable directly to the computer? thanks!

    Hi Carlos9912,
Does the Epson CX8400 support scanning over WiFi/Bonjour? I know my two HP Photosmart printers and my Epson I have do not support scanning over WiFi/Bonjour, despite the fact that they support printing functionality.

  • HP Officejet pro 8500A premium, all-in-one printer, scanner problems

I have an HP Officejet pro 8500A premium, all-in-one printer.
Tried uninstalling using the HP supplied uninstall software and installed recommended OSX 10.8 software for this device.
I use wireless scanning. Scanner only scans the first page then shows an error.
Anyone have this problem as well and any possible solutions?
    Thanks

The HP Scan works just fine in Mountain Lion for me. Always has.

I think the original poster needs to reinstall the latest software for the printer that came with his printer or directly from HP. Then, install the Apple HP updates.
When he unistalled the HP software, it may have removed the software needed for HP Scan to work properly.
The last software I installed from HP was -> HP_Installer_Officejet_Full_Group05_10.3.dmg
Yes, there have been Apple HP updates, but they never stopped my HP Scan from working.
