Hp 9.7 tablet fails to download anything

hi i bought a hp 9.7 in tablet not that long ago and nothing seems to work. even the app catalog, i cant download google chrom on it or anything. so i took it to the stire to get it checked and they cant even download the android system on it to convert to android. ii know it can get done but im thinking this tablet has a defect ...can anyone help?

Assuming you have a webOS TouchPad, there is not a webOS version of Google Chrome.  When you say that you can't do "anything", does that mean you just cannot download apps, or does literally nothing else work?
Have you updated the App Catalog?  If not, see the "stickied" thread near the top of this board about updating the App Catalog.
To install Android onto the device is an involved procedure which is not supported by HP.  But here is one site with instructions and the necessary downloads.  We cannot help with this beyond pointing the way.

  • App store fails to download anything

My macbook pro app store has suddenly stopped downloading any updates or new apps. It tells me an error has occured, and to use the purchases page to try downloading. I have looked up many ways over google, changing my DNS server to google's 8.8.8.8 did not work. I was also told to go into library/caches/com.apple.appstore to clear it out, and well, com.apple.appstore isn't even in my library/caches. any other solutions I could try?

Don't know why but on the 3rd restart it fixed it self.

  • I cant download anything, its always failed

i cant download anything, its always failed after reach around 1MB size, i can browse normally and also streaming

Have you got some kind of addon to download though such things do not mess with downloading but it can be point to check too. Having the latest version of firefox will also help and clear all cookies and if problem don't fade away then reset the browser or just re-install it.

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

  • Software Updates ADR Issue: "Failed to download the update from the internet. Error = 5"

"Failed to download the update from internet. Error = 5"
The above is the error I am getting when running any ADR. The error is quite clear software updates are failing to download and Error = 5 being a permissions error its clear that the downloads are failing due to incorrect permissions applied to the download
    path.
Here is the last bit of my ruleengine.log, everything above is the same except for the update trying to be downloaded of course:

Also, I do not have a patchdownloader.log anywhere, Ive checked all aforementioned locations from various sources and it just simply does not exist on my SCCM server. Here is my setup:
Server1: Primary server with all roles installed locally except the site database is on its own server. WSUS is installed locally here and DB is stored here.
Server2: SQL DB for Primary site DB
Server3: Secondary remote site running MP, DP, SUP. DB is SQL Express local.
So the SUP role was installed successfully on both server1 first and server 2 second with the site servers accounts. The SUP Synchronizes successfully and I can see a large list of updates available for use but not downloaded of course. I have set WSUS option
to store updates locally and have plenty of space at the target destination.
So here is my issue, I have been working on this issue for the better part of a week and understand the error code from the ruleengine.log to be a permissions issue. I have also proved this out but creating a test ADR with minimal updates and applied NTFS perms
to the target path for Modify with the everyone group (testing purposes only). The updates downloaded successfully. So this puts me right back to where I was, knowing its a permissions issue but not understanding what permissions are needed. Let me explain
    further.
The best way to start is to show what perms I have to the target location for downloads/wsus/sup anything:
Path: \\Server1\UpdatesAndDefinitions    (permissions being applied to the UpdatesAndDefinitions root folder)
SCCMAdmin (account used for most SCCM tasks except for NA) / Modify / Share and NTFS
Server1$ (primary site server) / Modify / NTFS
Everyone / read and execute / NTFS and Share
There are other system generated perms but the above three are the important ones. So hence my confusion I know that the SCCMAdmin account or the Server its self has to be accessing the target directory so why is it failing with a permissions issue?
My next step was to enable Auditing on the target path. Doing so revealed just what I thought and through me into further frustration:
A network share object was accessed.

Now I may not be the best I traversing through the mess of audit entry's and translating them, but from what I can see the two accounts that have the proper share and ntsf perms ive listed above are indeed the ones accessing the target location and the audit
code is success. I filter for failures and found no audits for failures whatsoever yet my downloads still fail religiously, unless of course I open myself up with the everyone group.
So next... I tried adding in the Network Service account with proper permissions, the Local Service Account, my user account, and all no go's.
Next... I remove the SUP roles from SCCM checked the logs for deinstall confirmations, and reinstalled these roles. No Go!
If anyone can assist I would be in your debt and very grateful.
Oh last note, but very important note I'm running SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4
    Thanks,
    Michael
    MichaelSpaulding

I just tested with the everyone group further; I added everyone with modify for ntfs and just read only for share and downloads failed!
I then changed the share perms for everyone to change and the ntfs to read/execute and poof downloads complete! Obviously change share perms for everyone leaves me open which Id like to prevent, so finding what account is being used is crucial.
I have already tried adding all of the SCCM accounts I use and the servers themselves as change perms to share and ntfs and have not had any luck.

  • Flash Player 9 failing to download

Can anyone help? Notwithstanding the issues that seem to be
surrounding Flash 9 (according to the Forum) I can't get it anyway.
I have v7 installed and was browsing the "Casino Royale" site
a few weeks ago which told me I needed Flash 8 - click to download.
This took me to the Adobe download page (for v9) which fails to
    download every single time.
I also cannot now play 'winks' in Windows Live Messenger - I
assume that in the last day or two they have upgraded so that v9 is
needed. Their link also fails to download Flash 9. The 'emergency
link' then just takes me back to Adobe's download page which
    doesn't work.
I keep leaving negative feedback on this page but they still
don't amend the page so it works.
How have those that have v9 got it? Is there an alternative
site that works? I can't find one anywhere that doesn't take me
back to Adobe's faulty non-functioning download page.
    Help!

I am having the same issue. I purchased an ebook knowing I had adobe on my computer. The book needs the digital edition to run and for some unknown to me reason flash doesn't work on my internet explorer and I've tried on netscape where flash works but the download stalls and I don't know if its actually doing anything or not. No security warnings pop up or anything. I've been trying for hours to get it to work...and now thinking I wasted the money on my book. I run vista on a new computer and cannot download the Digital Edition and no clue how to make it work. Is there a way to download it manually onto my desktop where I can install it from there?? skipping flash and java and all that stuff totally? I've been looking and haven'tt found it.
    Thanks.

  • Can't download anything from Ovi store (N8)

Hello, it all started on Saturday when i purchased Rio birds game and it turned to a "failed" download. I press Download button and then page refreshes and I get the Red button,"download failed" or something. I purchased another game day after that thinking its a temporary "bug" or something, it happened before and I got the same error. Tried downloading random free stuff but soon as I press Download button I get the download error again. Its been like this for 5 days now, cant download anything, not even stuff I purchased. Emailed Ovi support twice on sunday and monday but have not recieved a reply yet. Very odd IMO, 3,4 working days without a reply is very unprofessional. Do they even recieve those mails?
And I tried reinstalling Ovi store but still got the same download error.
Any tips or something that doesnt include hard reboot?
    Thx in advance
    dallaboo

I am having the same problem i got angrybirds seasons tried to download, it kept coming up as error try downloading again but still no game. I contacted o2 they put me through to nokia i was told to turn off phone take out battery then try again and surprise it never worked. Failing that they said to do a soft reset and still it doesn't work and it now tells me Maximum number of download attempts reached it is now beginning to really bug my happiness. It also won't connect to my wifi.

  • Can't download anything from App or iTunes store

Well, this is by far the worst update I have ever had, got new iPhone 6 128GB, straight away had major syncing to iTunes on my Mac problems which I am still having, but also another major issue.
After about a day of use, if I go into the App Store or iTunes Store on the phone it won't let me download anything, I press on Free, then Install, and all I get is a swirling icon, it never asks me to enter my password or verify by Touch ID, just keeps on swirling, if I press it again the icon dims, the only way I can fix it is by reseting all settings on the phone but by the early hours it once again will not let me download a thing.
Both previous iPhone 5 when I had it worked and a iPad Air 128GB work with the same account.

Looks like I've discovered a clue to why I can't download from App or iTunes store on the phone after a certain amount of time, I do a reboot with Home and Power button this time when it was failing to download an app and when it came back on the phone chucked a ton of pop up messages at me, to verify with Touch ID, to put my password in, and messages about the fact I'd already downloaded that app, about 10 messages.
Seems like at some point iOS 8 is not bringing up the message to verify the app download when in the store and it's getting stuck in a queue which the reboot is unsticking.

  • Can't download anything from the app store

each time i try to download anything from the app store it says connection manager::invoke:: failed to find service connection url

    HOLY CRAP!!!!
been going round this issues for hours....tried every fix i could find
phones and most of my pcs worked except 1, my main laptop.
i FIXED IT BY ENABLING GENIUS.!!!!!!!!!!
    only on that laptop though.
    try it.
    i'm so happy right now.
not gonna turn it back off again yet cos while its working im not touching it again!

  • Firefox will not download anything?

I seem to have a problem with Mozilla for Android, namely, that it will not download anything. I can click on downloads and it seems to go through the motions but nothing appears in 'downloads'. The problem started happening when I downloaded, installed and then removed another well known browser beggining with the letter 'O' :-; Unfortunately this browser messes with the stock Android download manager.
I'm running on a Google Nexus 7 with Android 4.3. Fortunately I can still download with the default Chrome browser. The problem has also ocurred on my Samsung SIII Mini which runs Android 4.1.2 so its not unique to the Nexus tablet. The problem is still ocurring even after a factory reset on the tablet!

Factory reset did not actually fix the issue.
However, I discovered something quite weird. When I try to download something, although it appears that nothing happens, FF puts an entry in History.
If I now go to history and tap on the entry for the download, FF starts downloading the file and then automatically presents me with the option to open in Aldiko or PDF viewer as before!
Its a pity it doesn't work on the first attempt - but at least I have a workaround!

  • Please help: "download failed" - trouble downloadi...

    hello there,
i've just finally managed to install ovi player (though on my father's laptop; did not work for my pc nor my dad's), registered under comes with music and was all good to go -- or so i thought.
i'm having trouble downloading anything. each track gets a "download failed" status after "downloading".
i'm wondering if there were any steps i failed to take; my usb is connected under media transfer.
it's pretty upsetting to be continuously let down by nokia, however i am optimistic for a solution.
prompt responses/any help would be greatly appreciated.
    thank you in advance

    update:
i've managed to download an entire album, so praise goodness. however, i still get "download failed" a bunch of times. its occurrence seems random as of now, and i would still really appreciate an explanation or solution to this. thanks.
in the meantime, have a wonderful easter everyone

  • How to abort failed music download?

I love getting the free music download cards from Starbucks, but recently one failed to download. Under the download section on itunes it says +*"Download error. Tap to retry"*+ but when I tap it starts to download for a second and goes right back to the error message.
I have not been able to find ANYTHING that will allow me to abort or cancel a failed music download.
To make matters worse - it is now causing a logjam by preventing any further music downloads.
    Any suggestions?
In case the path helps: I go to iTunes main page scroll down to REDEEM then enter the itunes code then hit redeem. Then I would check status of the download by going to the 'More' menu at the bottom right of the lower menu (flashing number tells me download is in progress) once there I see the album downloading...but then under the artist/song is the error message....
    I would welcome any advice.
    Thank you
    Bob

Launch itunes on your computer, Store>Check for Available Downloads, see if you can complete the download here, then sync your phone.

  • I can't sign into ICloud. Can't download anything.

Okay I am having a problem with the ICloud. I think. This is my fourth device in our iCloud family. An iPhone 4. It will not let me sign into my Apple ID in settings. It loads and then nothing happens. I checked my email in case they sent me a letter but nothing. I can't download anything and I really don't want to do a factory reset so please help me...... This is a new phenomenon. All other devices work fine. We have the same homesharing. iPhone 5, IPhone 4s and IPad Mini are the other devices.

I would try resetting all settings (in Settings>General>Reset) if you haven't already.  This will erase passwords for previously joined wifi networks so you will need to re-join your wifi after doing so.
If it still won't sign in, you probably need to restore the phone.  If you back it up properly ahead of time you won't lose a thing by doing so.  I would back up to both iCloud and iTunes (connect your phone to your computer, open iTunes, go to File>Devices>Back Up and File>Devices>Transfer Purchases) so you have redundant backups in case one of them fails.

  • I got message "OS X Yosemite failed to download" "Use the Purchases page to try again."

i got message "OS X Yosemite failed to download" "Use the Purchases page to try again." when i download OS X Yosemite
i got this message when i downloaded 869.7MB and i can't download more than that
    what should i do??

This seems to be working for me. VPN using https://www.getcloak.com/ - 30 day free trial. Crossing my fingers since the download isn't done yet.
I had a hunch that my ISP was the culprit. I cannot download anything from the appstore that had more than 1 gig filesize. Xcode, mavericks, yosemite. They would all stop and give the "failed to download....use purchase page..." error the moment the appstore starts downloading.
None of the changing DNS, emptying of cache, on/off appstore, or restarting worked.
    I'm on an iMac, Maverick.
